i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== This was just plain ridiculous. But at the same time, could Fred really do anything else? Everyone in RSOR needed the security of knowing that room was protected and with Hanston’s Keys on the loose around the school no risks were being taken. Fred was positive that no one could possibly have all the keys, especially since some of them had turned up already, well sort of. It was more like enough people were flaunting them that news had gotten back to the Leader’s Panel that more than one person had keys to the room. And with so many locks and so many keys required it didn’t seem likely anyone was going to get their hands on all of the keys.
Fred was an optimist. Things were good until they were so wrong that there was no solution. And as far as she was concerned there was always a solution. For now, she didn’t like the current solution. Camping out on the stairs seemed like a horrible and confining idea to her. Fred liked her freedom and if she was free to wander around and do what she liked, she was happy. This was against her nature…she didn’t like being stuck in one place. It made her restless. But at least there were two at a time sitting here and ready to protect the room.
Fred knew why some of them were here to protect the room but she hadn’t used a sword before let alone most weapons. As a child in her first life she had made sport out of shooting rats with a gun but that was about it. She didn’t make a habit of shooting, hitting or hurting people. And this just seemed a bit much even for the Leader’s Panel. RSOR was a sanctuary but now all this sitting on the steps was drawing more and more attention to RSOR. It was bad enough with Anti-RSOR trying to tear it apart and now this Wizard guy….it was ridiculous!
She was sitting on her own for the moment, the other leader’s panel member for this ‘shift’ having gone to sleep. It was late after all and they were taking turns sleeping and watching for anyone who may wander in and try to get inside the room. Fred was tired, and the yawn escaped her before she could help it and she was hardly dressed for sleep. But to be honest, it was only eleven and she hadn’t slept yet at all. Her pyjamas were in her bag sitting next to the stairs but for the time being she was dressed in her standard clothes for classes.
Occupying her was another difficulty. Fred didn’t sit still for long and after so long sitting here she was getting restless. She had already played Angry Birds on her phone, done a few Sudokus, Played extensively on a borrowed Gameboy and played Solitaire with a deck of cards she had in her back pack. She was bored and entertainment didn’t come easy to her. She needed to be active. She wanted to run around, jump about and do something active. This just wasn’t her thing…but she had to support RSOR. She was a leader for a reason and Hanston had asked this of all of them. She’d be damned if she wasn’t part of it…even if it was quite tedious.

How could the principal have lost her keys? While he did not 100% hold it against the woman (accidents happened, after all), the results were incredibly frustrating. The statistical probability of someone who was actually a threat to RSOR gaining all 15 keys was slim, but if someone could steal the keys...that meant that someone indeed had them all at one point. What if said person tried to regain all of the keys? Oliver wasn't ready for the secret of RSOR to be revealed. He wasn't sure if he'd ever be ready. More so than that, with the leader's panel sleeping outside of the RSOR room, there was no entry into the RSOR room. No entry into the RSOR room meant no access to one of the safest places to work on his projects. He could work on projects in his dorm, yes, but he'd left some of his tools in the RSOR room, and had yet to retrieve them, leaving him rather antsy. It didn't help that he'd just gotten off of work. While the day hadn't been too terrible, it was still work, and it was still a reminder of the wonders that minimum wage retail held. It was truly a different world, a world where any trace of literacy a customer may have went out the window, the proper response for being told no was to throw a tantrum that even your two year old raised an eyebrow at, and it was perfectly reasonable to treat a fellow human being like garbage because 'they work here'. He used the elevator rather than the stairs, dazing out in his haste and accidentally traveling up to the top floor rather than the floor that contained the entry to the boy's dorms. This was most inconvenient, until he recalled that at least two members of the Leader's Panel were standing watch over the RSOR room. Oliver figured that, while he was there, he might as well drop by and say hello. It didn't matter who was there, Oliver was on good terms with most of the leader's panel (one would hope so, considering they were in effect his bosses, his higher ups), though there were a select few he was closer to than others. He was hoping for Fred, Isa, or Skylar. As he approached, he saw that indeed, one of his good friends happened to be perched outside of the room. Noting that her help was sleeping, Oliver lowered his voice as he addressed her. "Fred Weasley." He indicated with a nod and a small grin on his face. Fred Weasley, Amelia Bedelia...just like his name, there were countless quips that could be made on hers. Just as he knew he'd likely have an Oliver Twist or Orville Redenbacher his way. So long as he got his jab in, he could take one in return. At this point, he heard a familiar 'ahhhhhhh hoooooey ha!' coming from Fred's phone, and couldn't help but laugh. "Angry birds? Not much to do up here, is there?" He grinned. He saw nothing wrong with Angry Birds, really - It was a fun game, good for a quick boredom cure. Still, though, it emphasized how bored Fred was at this point. And he couldn't say that he entirely blamed her. If he were in her position he'd at least have to bring something to tinker with or something... Word count: 580 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: Belated post count for teh win!

i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred sighed dramatically at her game but was more than a little startle when she heard a hushed voice address her. She jumped a bit from where she was sitting, her eyes flying up, a bit wide and surprised. She was expecting the worst when she recognized not only the voice but the person attached to it. Not to mention the nickname he had given her. Fred Weasley; given her red hair and her nickname of Fred instead of going by Winifred caused her to get the Harry Potter reference from time to time. She didn’t mind it and in fact found it more amusing than the Amelia Bedelia comment. She had hated those children’s books and was glad that the Harry Potter reference was more universally recognized…
She let her amused grin spread across her face and her attention the game drifted a bit. ”Redenbacher…good to see you. Shouldn’t you be in bed?”
She asked, it was a bit late after all. Classes were still running tomorrow and Fred was sure she would be wiped for them, nothing a little coffee wouldn’t fix. She had missed several periods of course in her camping, but class couldn’t be completely ignored and she happened to be a straight A student so it wasn’t a huge concern for her. She smiled at what he said next, laughing with him as he laughed at the sound coming from her phone. ”No…there really isn’t. I can’t stand sitting still like this. I want to either sleep or run around and do my own thing. I just can’t stand being still this long and being confined in a small space doesn’t help.” Fred explained, knowing she was talking to just the right person. Oliver would surely understand. This was a girl who found the Sky wasn’t the limit at all and had conquered the sky in a way. The sky was just the next step, and space was another step Fred intended to take. Becoming an Astronaut sounded amazing to her, but she would default back to being a pilot after she got her chance in space…that was if the thrill didn’t get to her. She was sure planes were more her thing, but she wasn’t about to knock space until she had tried it. She sighed again, ”Why couldn’t someone just be a kind student and give all the keys back so I can go back to wandering about, and doing what I do best; getting into this and that and seeing the sights, no matter how small…I mean, that’s the life. What I wouldn’t give just to head to the outskirts of town…or even just go hang gliding. It’s been a while since I have had a chance to try something so adventurous. School is just so restricting! She explained. To Fred, there was no adventure to hard or too far to give it a try. She was a go-getter and that wouldn’t change. It had transcended time with her soul and landed her a second chance, something she was grateful for seeing as her first chance had still been cut short. ”Not to mention I still have a trip around the world to make...” She added with a smile. Fred perked up a moment, a smile creeping on her face, giving all the signs she was about to ask a favour. ”Hey, Redenbacher, think you could lend me a set of wings to play with? It would be so much better than angry birds!” She asked, referring to his remote control planes that he was so great at making. ”Got anything I can test out maybe?” She asked, excitement lacing her tone.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Oliver Winchester (Aka Redenbacher) •• •• Words • 610 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••

That nickname. With almost any other person Oliver would roll his eyes and turn around straight off, but he and Fred just had that sort of relationship. She called him Redenbacher, he called her Weasley. It evened out. As much as he liked Isa, that was one thing about their relationship - She could call him ganglylimbs as much as she wanted, but if he tried to call her shortstop he'd get whacked for it. It hardly seemed fair, although Oliver took it in stride for the most part. It was a pretty humorous nickname, he had to give her that much. Though so was Saint Shortstop... "Probably should, but I just made it home from work. Can't say I'm all that tired yet." He didn't look it either. Being scheduled till 10 meant that he was still wired from work, and he wasn't sure that he wanted to go back to the dorm straight away and risk disturbing Darwin, or interrupting Will's beauty sleep. He certainly needed it, if he wanted to keep his hair past age 30 this time... With a grin at his own mental joke, he addressed the next part of Fred's diatribe. "Being trapped is not a good feeling. Didn't bring anything to entertain you other than your cell phone?" Oliver couldn't have done it. There was no question about it. Oliver always had to keep his hands busy, and while cell phone games were certainly enough to keep him occupied for a while, he knew that he'd want something to tinker with. If he had to stay up, he might as well get some use out of it, after all. Oliver let out a loud snort. "Nice student? Give the keys back? Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of nice students, but I know for a fact that Errol Murdock has a key, and is going to great lengths to make sure that no one lays their hands on it." The freshman shuddered, unsure if Fred knew the details when it came to Errol hiding the key in his pants. He wasn't so sure that he wanted to tell her, either. Just...who did that? He did smirk when she mentioned accomplishing her goal of traveling around the world. "Just don't go and get yourself lost this time. " They were dangerously close to a hot subject, and the temptation to ask for more details was strong. He resisted, though, if only because he knew that it was a touchy subject and Fred was already on tenterhooks from being trapped at this staircase the entire night. Fortunately she, like him, had ideas as for how to make the night a little more exciting. "You know, I just may." He set his backpack down (yes, he took his backpack to work - he needed something to do when he was on his breaks, plus he usually went straight from class if he was scheduled early enough) and knelt down, avoiding the first zipper and extracting a remote control car/plane from the second zipper. "Just don't break it. I know a certain person who shares his name with a pig who wouldn't exactly be happy with that outcome." He was, of course, referring to his past brother in a roundabout way. Not that he thought she'd break it - Their first meeting in this life resulted in the two of them zipping around the RSOR room with RC planes. "Have fun, Weasley." Not that he wasn't going to be actively participating as well. At the very least, he was going to observe. Word count: 632 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: These two are so much fun to rp. XD

i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred didn’t take harshly to most things. She was really easy going and just went with the flow. She didn’t care what the topic, what the time, or what was said, she could go with it, with the exception of select topics, most prominently anything relating to her previous disappearance and death. Small inquiries sure, but anything beyond harmless mentioning of it, she got livid. She just didn’t want to think about it. She had lived through it once, it was behind her, it was an experience she hadn’t enjoyed and it was time to move on.
She took things as positively as possible and tried her best to remain constantly positive. It was easier than moping as some are known to do, or even just taking things with a slightly off approach. Everything was a problem if you think it’s a problem. Why not thing of solutions to the problems shoved in your face and worry about what matters—getting out of the problem that arises. It was so much simpler than viewing things as a bad thing all the time. This key issue, it was a problem, it needed a solution. Fred’s idea of a solution: Change all the locks. And she wanted the LP to change them. No locksmith, just get the lock, get the keys and change the locks. They may not know how, but no one knows how to do something till the try, right? Of course, she also understood why that idea wasn’t in the forefront of the solution list…it involved possible error and when it came to security of the RSOR room, there was no room for error.
Fred smiled. ”I got the first shift. I can’t sleep till it’s my turn,”
she commented as she motioned behind her. ”What I really want to do is not sit on the stairwell.” Fred commented, a smile on her face, despite the equivalent of a negative comment from her. ”You can sit with me of course, but we gotta make sure we are not too loud…” She said, a devious smile on her face as she made a “shhh” motion with her finger over her lips. Fred shrugged. ”Homework, but it’s all done. A few books, but they are all read. An Autobiography on me, already read it a few times before. Certain parts intrigue me when it comes to people’s opinions of me. Other than that, I have the phone and this…” She reached into her bag and pulled out a rubber pig. Upon squeezing it the eyes popped out of its head and went back in when she released it again. ”I didn’t come all that prepared.
She paused a moment, ”I really should start learning how to make planes from you. I can fly them, and I understand them, but being able to build them would be a nice addition…” She said, more in a side thought than anything. She would love to learn given the time but Fred always had a lot on her plate. She was that kind of person. Perhaps it was time to make room for building planes, even if they were just miniature remote control ones.
Fred sighed, ”I am aware of Errol. Anti-RSOR is going to be more of a problem with the keys in their possession. So let’s hope they don’t get their hands on more of them.” Fred knew they had more than just the one but hadn’t said as much. That information was staying within the Leader’s Panel for the time being. ”But truth be told, I don’t want to look for problems in this. He has one key, and he can’t do anything with it, well, except stuff it down his pants…yes I know about that…” She explained. ”Still can’t blame me for hoping some of the keys will come back to us though…” Fred added. She smiled and nodded, letting the reference slide through without irritation, ”You got it! No getting lost this time…cross my heart!” She agreed, making a cross over the heart motion as she said it. It was indeed a tender topic as Fred avoided her death as a topic at all costs. Well that and her disappearance. Best no one asked. It was just safer that way. Fred’s face lit up as he opened his backpack, her phone quickly ditched in her bag, along with the rubber pig. ”That’s what I am talking about!!” she exclaimed, catching herself as being too loud and shushing with her next words. ”Man, you bring those to work?” she commented, a mischievous grin on her face. Fred took the plane from him. ”I wouldn’t be much of a pilot if I let it crash now would I?” She said, a wide smile on her face. She placed the plane on the floor so it had somewhere to start. ”Weasley to Redenbacher. Are we clear for take-off Redenbacher?” She said, her face one of pure amusement. She was of course doing that part for her own amusement, clearly she could take off. But what was a little fun?[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words • 846 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••

Oliver, on the other hand, could think of another solution to the key problem. It was a solution that made sense given who he was. He thought that another safeguard needed to be employed. He too, realized that a fingerprint scanner wouldn't be foolproof, especially if it went on the fritz, but the key situation had gone on the fritz as well, hadn't it? There really was no 100% foolproof way to protect the RSOR room, so why not add as many safeguards as possible? The RSOR room gave Oliver a place to belong in this life, and for Oliver a sense of belonging to something was crucial. Without RSOR...he wouldn't have his family back. He wouldn't realize that he wasn't alone. RSOR meant a lot to him. "I can't say I entirely blame you..." He responded to Fred's remark about sitting on their staircase, though it wasn't as true for her as it was for him. He could sit still as long as he had something to occupy his time. If he was tinkering with something he could probably sit there all night, though at the same time, emerging himself in one of his projects in order to keep himself awake would probably be considered shirking off his duties, the way that Fred playing Angry Birds could be construed. Oliver smirked as Fred made the shh motion. It was amazing just how much Fred had brought up to the stairwell with her, though it sounded as though she'd already gone through her share of entertainment. "I guess it's a good way to force you to do your homework." Sometimes Oliver needed that extra booster. When it came to his mechanical projects, the thrill of creating was enough motivation for him. When it came to homework? He needed a little more prodding. The rubber pig resulted in an eyebrow arch from the freshman. "I don't know, that pig should be good for at least a half an hour of amusement..." He commented with a small grin. "Depends on who has the keys. If Errol, Kodi, and Tamara all have keys, that's only three keys. With the key that Evie sold to Tamara, she now has two. Joan has retrieved keys from Raven and Oz. That leaves nine keys up in the air..." A pause. "...pun not intended. Still, the RSOR itself has at least two, and Anti-RSOR needs fifteen to have any hope of getting in. So we should be safe." It was a comforting thought, but Oliver couldn't help but note that he still didn't feel all that safe considering. He couldn't pretend that this turn of events hadn't come as a jolt. Oliver smiled a little. "Good." While he and Fred hadn't been that close in their past lives, they'd definitely known each other. It was nice to have that sort of relationship with someone, especially on the leader's panel. He and Amelia didn't go as far back as he and Wilbur, or he and Katharine, but it was farther back than anyone else he'd come across thus far that wasn't related to him in his past life. The freshman grinned a little. "I do. Have to have something to do when I get bored on breaks. I mean yeah, sometimes I'll just grab a snack to eat, but that doesn't always cut it." Oliver easily fell into step with Fred's play-acting, a huge grin coming across his face as he responded in kind, even cupping his hands around his mouth to give the impression that his voice was coming in muffled and crackly. "You are clear for takeoff, Weasley." Word count: 646 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: Yay!

i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred knew that Oliver and Edison were supposed to be working on a security system for RSOR and had figured it should be well on its way. If the idea was proposed to her that one be made she would have suggested more than one. In fact, Fred wanted there to be several. She would insist on a couple of them, a couple keys and any other security measure that could be taken. Hell she would ask for armoured doors if she thought they were possible. Anything to protect the secrets of RSOR….
”Now, now, we both know that I don’t need force to do my homework. You on the other hand could do some good sitting on this staircase and doing yours…How are you supposed to become a creator of planes again without good grades?
Fred said, taking on almost a scolding tone. ”You could do wonders for the world by improving what you already created if given the chance…” Fred added, believing it. ”And with my good grades, I will fly them…well, after I go to space at least once. I want to be an astronaut first, for just one flight. Then again, I wouldn’t argue with being both…” Fred wouldn’t really have time for both, but no one was about to tell her she couldn’t be a pilot and an astronaut. She was already one of them after all… Fred smiled again at the eyebrow arch from Oliver, raised the pig next to her face and squeezed it again. ”See??” she repeated with a grin. Her face fell a moment, ”The sad part is, that this entertains me for hours at a time sometimes…” Fred added. ”It comes with a matching cow and frog…” she said, while digging through her bag to pull out the other two to share. ”Though, I must say the pig is my favour—ah! There they are.” She pulled out the other two, displaying them for Oliver, before squeezing them and letting their eyes pop out of their heads. Fred paused a moment as Oliver went through the list of key holders. Fred frowned a moment and dropped the squeezable animals. ”We know of several others… Anti-RSOR has four, which is dangerous in itself. But we do have two…There is also Ms. Hoffman. We know she has one. And there is Harold…That’s two more down. Harold won’t bargain for his, and Ms. Hoffman appears to be willing to give hers back. Or at least, she was forced into it.” Fred explained. It wasn’t private information after all. ”That actually leaves eight…And I am pretty sure that some may even be amongst RSOR. I can’t kick that from my mind ever since the Oz incident. He had a key and none of us had a clue,” She added, it was clear she wasn’t keen on the topic. ”I am more concerned that copies were made…I can’t rule that out. But to be honest, Anti-RSOR has no chance. That is at least comforting.” Fred added, knowing full well that was what Oliver had intended with his line of chatter. Fred let the part about her travelling around the world drop. It wasn’t a topic she enjoyed anyways. Well, the going around the world was fine, it was the vanishing the second time part that caused the issue. The first attempt had failed due to technical difficulties. So technically it was the second attempt that had caused her to disappear to the known world. She hadn’t disappeared in her own eyes, seeing as she knew the truth of what happened. But she had been lost to the world, that much was certain. Fred had been pleased to see Oliver still had the flying bug. She was stuck with it since her first real flight. Hell, even falling through the air in the little box off her roof as a child had been exhilarating and should have been a hint to her future. But the fact that Oliver actually flew on his breaks, it was amusing and always good to hear. Fred smiled widely as Oliver played along and she put on her game face and started the plane’s take off. As soon as it was off the ground Fred announced in the same tone as before, ”We have lift off!!” as she started an upward circle as it gained altitude. Now, if it had been a real plane the increase in height would be a lot more dramatic, but it would have to do—seeing as no person in their (w)right mind would let a teenager pilot an aircraft on their own. Cadets at least could get into the aircraft…the lucky brats.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words • 777 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••

Oliver was definitely a proponent of adding fingerprint scanners, though at the same time he noticed one flaw in having them - what might happen in the case of them shutting down or breaking. A back-up battery would suffice in the case of a loss of electricity, though who knew what would happen if the devices themselves ceased to function the way that they were supposed to? He didn't exactly want to block RSOR out of the attic. That was his safe haven as much as anyone else's. They'd have to install some sort of fail safe, but one that only RSOR members knew about, possibly even just the creators themselves. The freshman rolled his eyes, yet grinned a little. "I'll have you know that I didn't even graduate high school before. Now, don't follow my example...the world of today's a tad different than it was back then." He had all intent to graduate high school this time around. You couldn't get much of anywhere if you did, and Oliver had the brains to do it. He had before, in fact. His not graduating was more a show of defiance than a lack of the grades necessary. It still did not seem entirely fair that by choosing to take a more advanced curriculum Orville forewent the chance to graduate with his class. That was one of the wonders of this time period - That much was taken into account. There were Honors and AP classes designed especially for that purpose. At the subject of space, Oliver couldn't help but divulge. "I'd love to take a look at a spaceship, personally. The technology behind it...I'd love to add on to that." Space age technology definitely held a certain charm for Oliver. It was why he'd opted to go into aerospace as a career. He could concentrate on both the frontier that he was intimately familiar with, and a new frontier that was free for exploration. He'd helped to prove that the sky was most certainly not the limit, and the idea of exploring new technologies was always a catch for Oliver. Then again, any technology had that appeal to Oliver. It could be something amazingly simple, like a children's toy, or amazingly complex, like an airplane or spaceship, and his mind would be going several miles a minute. Apparently there were two people who had keys that Oliver didn't consider. Then again, he wasn't leader's panel. He didn't have instant access to this information. Still, he was close to a couple of members of the leader's panel, which meant that he was usually fairly well informed. "I don't think we have to worry about the Hoffmanator. Harold, on the other hand..." Harold on the outset didn't seem like he'd be much of a threat, but Oliver was still unnerved by Harold's recital of his birth and death dates at a tutoring session. He still tutored Harold, but they were awkward tutoring sessions, that much could be said. He frowned further at the mention of copies. "Yeah, that briefly went through my mind too. I can't think of many students who would have the money and/or technology to do it, but considering the sheer importance of these keys...well, I wouldn't put it past anyone to try that method." Especially the Anti-RSOR, and Oliver knew that was where Fred was going with it before she even said it. It wasn't that hard to figure out. The Anti-RSOR was RSOR's main threat. That and the Wizard, but Oliver was sure he wasn't the only one who noticed that after the latest onslaught of posts, the Wizard had been tapering off as of late... Oliver watched with a small smile and his hands buried into his pockets as the plane took off under Fred's control. Word count: To: Fred/Jez-E Notes:

i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred smiled as Oliver mentioned never having graduated high school. She had not just graduated high school but had done several university/college level courses in her life. She had graduated with a degree from Colombia University as well. She had achieved plenty in academics the first time and she planned to do so again in this life. She had no choice if she wanted to fly this time around. Life had changed and she had to adapt to it. At least it was favourable for her.
”Well I wouldn’t try that again. Anyway, if you want to work with planes again you need some pretty awesome grades. So get to work on that Redenbacher!”
She said, reinforcing what she had initially said about his education and getting homework done. ”In fact, you may want to go to university or college too if you plan to get into working with planes. I know you have that stuff all down, but it appears in this lifetime we will need more than the basics.” ”Really now? What about becoming an astronaut with me? Or an engineer and work with them in space? That way we can still work together in this lifetime. Not that I plan to drop piloting altogether. Planes were my first and final love!” Fred said, pumping her fist into the palm of her hand to show how definitive the statement was. ”But I want to keep my options open so I can understand more to the sky than I already do.” She added on with a mischievous grin. ”Wouldn’t you like to go into space and not just work on the rockets?” Fred nodded as Oliver processed what she had said about two other keys. ”Hoffman is still a danger as long as she has a key. And though I trust she won’t use it, she needs to hand it over so that everyone can have a peace of mind. Harold is a different story altogether.” Fred smiled, ”He wants the key just to have the key. He is harmless really…It would just be more peace of mind to get it from him. But I wouldn’t want him to feel forced. We’ve been trying to trade for it, but that has proved fruitless.” Fred explained. Fred nodded, glad to hear she wasn’t the only one who had considered the idea that someone may want to copy the keys. ”There are businesses that don’t ask questions and just copy a key. It’s fairly cheap to be honest…I am just hoping no one considered it. No one with a key that is. Either way, as long as they don’t have all fifteen we are fine. And with Raven having just handed us his key, RSOR is safe. Weird but logical that it would be a serial killer who saves the day.” Fred smiled at the irony. ”Raven has the most to lose if it went public that we are reincarnates. So of course he backed us as soon as he could manage it.” She added, unnecessarily. Fred turned the plane about in the air, doing some manoeuvring including loops and spirals just because she could. Fred hadn’t flown in a plane in this life in the exciting manner she missed so much. Sometimes she even felt a painful ache from the memory of flying and not being able to satisfy her desire to fly through the air like she used to. Putting it from her mind Fred split her attention between Oliver and the Plane. ”So is this a tested model then? And any improvements she can expect in the future,” she being the plane of course. Fred loved the plane models. The only plane she despised was the Electra but that was to be expected, and that was only because of her past experience. She hated and loved that Electra and was still wondering when they would find it…she put the thought from her mind, that dangerous topic didn’t need to surface again.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words • 663 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••

Oliver had absolutely no problem when it came to studying, though he preferred to do it on his own terms rather than someone else's. His study habits had left something to be desired in his early years in his first life. He finally put forth more effort into his schoolwork in high school, taking advanced college preparatory classes, and how was he repaid? He was told that he wouldn't be graduating with his class. In a time where a high school degree wasn't anywhere near as necessary as it was today? Yeah, Orville didn't have to put up with that. He snorted at Fred's insistence that he get to work. "Yes mother." He teased playfully. Then, more seriously - "That is in the plans, in fact. I still think it's too bad we can't use our resumes including our past lives. I think I'd be able to skip a few years of college with that." He grinned a little. Regardless, he knew he had catching up to do. It was studying planes, though. Studying machinery. That he could do for the rest of his life and be happy. "I would like to go at least once, yes." To him, part of the experience of building was being able to test it out yourself. That said, the most important part to Oliver was the creation process. Above all else, he wanted to build things. He'd only piloted a plane once after 1918, but he'd never stopped tinkering. He suffered the heart attack that eventually killed him shortly after attempting to fix a light bulb at his home. He returned Fred's grin. "Well, yes, especially if I built the thing. I'd want to test my own devices in action." Again, it all centered back on Oliver's love of building. This was where he and Fred differed, but their interests overlapped enough (as well as their past lives) that it didn't matter much. He still enjoyed flying too, of course. It was odd to hear that Fred's thoughts on the keys were the opposite of his. "I don't trust Harold..." He admitted. "I was tutoring him for Cranbolt once and he blurted out my birth and death date." Of course, Harold had a trigger - He'd seen the name 'Orville Wright' in a notebook that Oliver was flipping through. Oliver remained unaware, though, and still believed that he might have been the trigger. Which, of course, bothered him, as he didn't want any normals to make that connection. Not any further than it had already been made. Hoffman, on the other hand? He didn't see her doing anything with the key. Oliver hated Raven, though he was thankful that the reincarnated serial killer handed over his key. It wouldn't change how Oliver felt about Raven much, though the strange senior had earned just a smidgeon of Oliver's respect. The thoughts back to the wax museum made it hard for Oliver to acknowledge that, though. So instead he set his eyes back on the remote control plane that Fred was doing mid-air maneuvers with. He enjoyed seeing the plane in action. "We're going to try to make bigger models soon. The smaller models are finally starting to do what we want them to do, so the logical next step is to make them bigger. We'll have plenty of contemplations and changes to make with the increased size, but that's part of the fun." Came Oliver's response, along with a smile, to Fred's questions about the model plane. He and Wilbur/Nate had been in discussions about this subject for a while, and Oliver felt that it was almost time to try it out, especially as he observed the ease with which Fred was flying the current model. "You haven't lost it, Earhart." This was stated in a quiet voice, owing to the use of her previous last name, but he figured in this case it was better to use her actual name rather than the 'Weasley' reference, due to the context. i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred smiled as he gave her the playful ‘yes mother’. ”If we could use our past experiences on our resumes we would all do wonders for getting the work we want! I would just go right back to being a pilot as I work on a degree in physical sciences and/or engineering. That way I can get into NASA and get to becoming an astronaut,”
Fred said, her eyes glowing with the idea. Fred made big goals and often achieved them. Nothing was too hard for her to do, and she made sure of that. She pushed her hardest to achieve her goals and so far only one of them remained incomplete. Well, other than the new ones. ”Well if you can’t get into space, I’ll let you know how nice the ride is,” She said, intentionally making it sound like she was challenging him to get there himself and leaving no question that she would end up there. ”But either way, you should at least get in some more air time in a plane, piloting it, this time around. It couldn’t hurt at all…” she added. She really loved flying and she recommended that anyone try if the topic came up. But for Oliver, he had flown before and she was still astounded that he didn’t dream of flying more. Fred dreamed of flying every night when she closed her eyes. It was her passion and nothing was the same as seeing the world from the air, the ground far below. It was the more pure form of amazement that humans could experience, other than possibly seeing Earth from Space. That was definitely the next step. Fred paused, her eyes narrowing a moment. ”Harold spouted out your birth and death date? As in he said Orville Wrights birth and death date? You are sure it was direct at you? Or was it merely him reciting something for another reason. What is the context?” Fred asked, concerned by this. ”Also, when did it happen exactly?” Fred added on. She didn’t like where this was going at all. Fred was aware that Oliver wasn’t the most cautious of the reincarnates, but it wasn’t really intentional on his part. It was just that Oliver was horrible under social stress and he tended to let on to small hints, but those hints meant nothing unless they were grouped together. Harold couldn’t possibly know…could he? Fred’s eyes shot to Oliver. ”Bigger Models? Like how big? Can I test them?” she said getting excited. ”Maybe I can sit in on the process?” she added hopefully. Fred was always interested in academics and building things as much as she was in the process of using them. Especially where planes were concerned… Fred smiled widely. ”Thank you Orville. I am glad you think so,” She replied. She meant it genuinely. Having the creator of planes, well…co-creator, tell you that you can fly a plane was always a great thing to hear.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words • 494 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••

Oliver would have enjoyed being able to use his old resume. He was not a fan of having to attend school a second time. He wouldn't trade Riverdale High School for the world, though. RSOR was wonderful. "You'll love engineering. It's a blast." To him, engineering meant building and inventing, and so of course engineering appealed to him greatly. He just could not go through life without making some sort of modification or new device entirely. It was his lifeblood, honestly. Fred's challenge worked just as she wanted it to. He looked taken aback as Fred insisted that she would tell him how nice the ride is. "I don't think that will be necessary, Earhart." He stated in an incredulous voice. "I would like to test out any device I work on at least once..." It, too, was part of the invention process, and Oliver wanted to be a part of that. Moreover, Fred's statement pulled out Oliver's more competitive side. If she didn't think he could do it, that made him want to prove to her that he could very well do it. "Yes, my birth and death date. Method of death too." He looked uncomfortable, and who could blame him, given what he was divulging? Oliver winced a little, biting down on his lip. It was his typical reaction to any mention of his past death. Heart attacks weren't a pleasant thing in the least bit, and he'd felt two of them in the twilight of his past life. The thought always bothered him as a result. "Well, I was tutoring him in history. And I asked him what else he was studying in class. He blurted that out as a response." Oliver's voice sounded somewhere between unnerved and annoyed. "Before you say it, no, he wasn't studying us in class. I asked him, and he responded with a no. He also wouldn't tell me why he'd said it." That was perhaps the part that bothered him the most. He'd said it, but not provided an answer. The true answer was much simpler, and would put Oliver at ease, but there was no way to just let Harold know that saying he saw the words 'Orville Wright' in a notebook would put a certain someone in a more at ease state. "That said, I don't think he poses as much of a threat as RSOR." He stated, more to convince himself than to convince Fred, who already seemed willing to give Harold the benefit of the doubt. When he saw Fred's excitement concerning the model car/planes, Oliver's own excitement was ignited. The feeling was contagious, especially amongst two people with similar interests. "Not quite large enough to ride in yet, though large enough that we may throw weights into the occasion to see if and how they influence the flights." The young man stated all of this rather matter of factly. "We'd prefer if we were able to test them a bit ourselves first, but after that, you're perfectly welcome to be the third tester if you so desire." He smiled, knowing that Fred would enjoy that. He just didn't like people touching things straight off, before he and/or Wilbur had a chance to test themselves. "You can sit in on it, but make sure you don't tell anyone what we're up to." He looked around with a smirk that went up into his eyes and then held up a finger to his lips in a 'shhing' motion, much as Fred had earlier, and Oliver was reminded that there was another leader's panel member lurking nearby. Fortunately, said other member was sleeping like a log, as they'd slept through all of this. Oliver stood back, watching Fred fly his model with a certain expertise. As he watched, he was fairly certain that Fred was probably reliving the real thing in her mind. He knew that feeling. "You want back up there really bad, don't you?" Though he knew how much she wanted it, he hadn't been able to see quite how much until now. i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred was sure not many of the RSOR members were pleased to attend school a second time, or a first time for some of the older ones. She enjoyed school, so either way she was good with it. Then again, the repetition of some of it was quite irritating. But some of the way things were done and how things are handled now had changed, so the education was still relevant even if a bit irritating sometimes. Even for someone like Orville who hadn’t died that long ago, things had still changed rapidly. It was worth the second education.
Fred smiled as he mentioned engineering being a blast. Of course Redenbacher would think that. He was an inventor of mechanics after all. Or at least played more than a key role in their development. It was his ball park. For her it was something new, and something she intended to pursue. ”I just hope it is as exciting for me as it already is for you. I am sure I will enjoy it either way, I am pretty open to anything.”
she added. And it was definitely an understatement. Fred would try anything at least once. Fred found herself laughing as her challenge hit home. ”Of course you would Wright. Just make sure you get there. It’d be more fun to go into space with a friend than on my own. Though, I could handle it either way.
she said, smiling fondly at him. She loved Oliver as her best friend. She would really love it if he could be there to see Earth from Space with him. They both loved the sky and flight so it was a perfect idea. At least she didn’t see any flaws. Fred lost a bit of her colour upon hearing that he had recited his death method as well. It concerned her greatly that Harold may be accidentally in on the secret. It was more than concerning, and she was wondering if he had told Isa about the incident yet. She was about to ask about the context when Oliver ruled out her main questions. ”Did you tell Isa? Or any other Leader’s Panel member?” She asked, finding the topic a dangerous one. ”And do you think he honestly knew what he was saying?” She asked, her concern evident. ”I am just trying to decide if this is a situation worth looking into more seriously.” She explained. It was her job after all to protect RSOR. That was how she was on the Leader’s Panel. RSOR was something she had to protect and more importantly something she needed to keep in the forefront of her mind. All of her decisions reflected on RSOR and effected it and she was more than a little aware of this. Fred’s eyes sparkled with delight at the idea of a larger model that they could test weight and strength with. She loved the idea of testing them, even if it was just with a remote. ”Good to hear. I am more than capable of operating a remote control plane. Flying them is so much harder,” she said, not letting the fact that she is not part of the initial testing bother her. Fred was positive if anything. ”I won’t speak, breath, write, text or in any way inform another of it. I promise,” she said, meaning every word, and using a zipping motion over her mouth. ”My lips are sealed!”. She also couldn’t help the amuse smile at her copied motion from earlier. Fred turned her attention to the plane, shifting it around in the air. Hearing Oliver voice her desire, she turned to him, and it was no surprise that her desperation sprang into her eyes. Fred was expressive and rarely able to hide how she felt. ”With all my heart. I miss the air, the scene, the wondrous beauty, the exhilaration and most importantly, the freedom. Nothing is like flying. Nothing ever will be like flying. And commercial flights pale in comparison to flying your own plane and seeing things from the pilot seat. It’s a whole different world up there!” Fred said, trying to capture the feeling with words. She knew Orville understood the feeling and she didn’t need to explain it, but she felt that feeling whenever she closed her eyes or slept. It never left her and never would. She missed the real feeling and the imagined feeling didn’t do the trick quite the same way. ”Every time I close my eyes, I can feel a ghost of what it feels like. When I sleep I am up there flying, seeing the world and it always ends with a perfect landing,” She explained, not adding on that she was pretty sure the last part was a compulsive reaction, lingering, from her disappearance. She had not been able to land that plane correctly, and that much anyone knew. It was just a matter of where she and the plane went. Oh, and her navigator. Noonan had been an amazing man and Earhart was more than a little amused and honoured to use his name in this life. Fred…Fred Noonan and she was now Fred Young. It was a nice feeling. And she never talked about Noonan. Not after what happened to them. She made a note to try and find a grave marker for him before the end of this life.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words • 899 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••

Oliver shrugged and smiled. "I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Maybe not quite to the extent that Wilbur and I do, but I know you. You've got a good mind for it." By that he meant that she had an open mind, and the right level of curiosity to boot. He thought she'd be a fine addition to the field of engineering as well as the field of flight. Again, Oliver viewed the space thing as a challenge. A challenge that he wanted to meet with success, as he usually did. Any mechanical challenge, or similar challenge, was one that he wanted to prove that he could master. Plus, he had to admit that as much as he liked Earhart (she was his best female friend, without a doubt, unless you counted his past and current sisters), he wanted to be the one up in space first. Oliver's competitive nature wasn't always so forward, but Fred was almost like a sister to him. He, in fact, regarded her just below Wilbur, Katharine, and Cindy. He'd known her in his past life, after all. Together, all five of them could form an Aviator's Club within Riverdale. Lenita, of course, could be added to this as well, although she was not a former aviator (then again, neither was Alison entirely). She had all the right moves for it though. Plus, she was his girlfriend. Of course he'd want to include her in the mix. "I didn't tell anyone...probably should have, come to think of it. It hasn't been mentioned since, but it did leave me unnerved." He had a feeling that his hesitance to tell a member of the leader's panel might mean that the leader's panel would be less likely to investigate, a thought that bothered Oliver slightly. If Harold showed signs of being a threat, why not investigate? "I'm not sure if he knew or not. He blurted out my birth and death date, and then my method of death." Putting more thought into it, Oliver decided to add to his explanation. "That said, he didn't seem to realize he'd said anything odd after I questioned him about it." Well, at least he was being honest. He just hoped his worries weren't completely pushed aside. The incident still bothered him, whether it appeared to be nothing or not. Oliver smirked. "Indeed they are, my dear. If building miniature models was the same thing as flying an airplane, Wilbur and I would have been in the air as children." Oliver shook his head, wearing a smile on his face. It felt damn good to be able to talk candidly like this. As he spoke to Fred, he noticed that a few of his mannerisms and methods of speech were dated, but it was had not to do so with Fred. Not when he knew her to be someone he'd known in their first lives. It was subtle, yet noticeable nevertheless. The freshman listened to Amelia Earhart talk about flight in silence, finally speaking up when Fred compared modern commercial airliners to the airplanes of the past. "Oh, I very much agree. Do you remember the plane we took to London? You could scarcely even tell that we were flying!" That, to Oliver, pretty much ruined the experience. He imagined it was perfectly fine for a passenger, but for a pilot (indeed, the first pilot), it wasn't right. "That said, it's amazing to see what they've done..." There was considerable awe in Oliver's voice, as he thought about the improvements that had been made to his and Wilbur's invention. There was a time about a century before where Oliver would have (and, in fact, had) claimed that intercontinental flights were impossible, owing to the technology needed. Yet it happened in his past life. As she mentioned the sensation when she closed her eyes, it struck a chord with Oliver. "Before I flew, it was something I dreamed about almost every night before I went to sleep." To hear that someone else had felt that sensation, describing it in such vivid detail that Oliver could relive that sensation himself...it meant a lot to Oliver. i'll spread my wings and i'll learn how to fly, i'll do what it takes til' i touch the sky.. WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred smiled widely, as Oliver express his belief that she would do well at Engineering. She made the motion as if she was taking a hat off, followed by a half bow. ”I take my hat off to you good sir!”
she said in jest of the moment. It was her way of saying that clearly Wilbur and Orville’s passion with Engineering was superior to her interest and she would never be as passionate. Fred could easily accept that. But she also believed that they were not quite as passionate as her when it came to flying…not that it was a competition (or is it?). Though, they did create planes to get into the air, that was pretty passionate… Fred didn’t express the inner competition bubbling in the response Oliver had to the space idea. She wanted to get into space on her terms, but also she wanted to get there first and be able to tell Oliver how amazing the view is. After all, he was in a plane first, surely it was her turn to go first! Ladies first after all. What kind of a gentlemen would he be if he didn’t let her get into that rocket first? She figured it would be best if they went together by comparison to competition area. Though, both of them would be the first to salute the other if they got there first. That was the beauty of a strong friendship. Fred actually had a similar idea of Oliver as he had of her. Fred saw him as almost like a brother to her, but oddly she viewed him like an older brother rather than a younger one. It probably had to do with their first lives. Orville had been older than Earhart when they had first met, so she just automatically perceived Oliver as older than her, despite the fact that Fred was a junior and Oliver a freshman. RSOR did that to people though. Fred had only had a sister in her first life, but in this life she had five brothers, and she had come to view Orville almost like a brother. It was a strange relationship but largely to do with the nature of their friendship. Fred had almost petitioned the rest of the Leader’s Panel to form within RSOR an Aviation Club. She figured she could president it and they could have the RSOR room on another day of the week. The focus could be on remote control planes instead of just real ones, but keep it within the confines of RSOR. Not to mention there were more than enough people from the flight industries in RSOR, but for the moment, she hadn’t breached the topic. Fred puzzled it out a moment. ”I will talk to Isa about it and see if we should bring it up with the rest of the Leader’s Panel. You should have told us right away…just make sure you do next time, Kay?” Fred managed to say the last part so it didn’t sound like a lecture but like a friend giving another friend advice. It was a talent for her really to appear more a friend than a leader a lot of the time. But in the end, she was on the Leader’s Panel and she was a leader. Sometimes she slipped in and out of the role and it was difficult for her to be a member of the Leader’s Panel when Oliver was concerned. Fred bit her lip lightly, considering how to handle things. ”I will press for an investigation, but I think it may be safer not to investigate. If Harold doesn’t think that it was an issue or it was important, maybe he will overlook the possibility of what he has said.” Fred explained. ”Like I said, let me bounce it off of Isa. I’ll see what she thinks. She tends to understand more about Harold than I do,” Fred offered. Fred smiled when he used “my dear” in what he was saying. It was always nice to talk to someone from RSOR more naturally when possible. ”Isn’t that the truth? Though, the feeling that comes with flying both is different. Flying is awe inspiring. Flying a miniature is just childish fun by comparison. But the more accurate models like you guys make, those are immense fun without the awe. Well, unless you count the reincarnation ignorant who see that you’ve made a plane out of nothing and are in awe of you instead.” Fred explained with a wide grin. She found the awe amusing and dangerous when people understood Oliver made remote control planes on his own. They could just claim genius on his part, but if talents like that were noted in RSOR members and combined to be thought about, one might actually discover the big secret that made RSOR so precious. Fred shook her head, ”The plane to London was nothing new to me. My family is from London in this life, remember?” She said smiling. People often forgot Fred was from London, seeing as she lacked an English Accent. Her father was American and her mother British, and paired with her previous life, Fred hadn’t picked up the accent as a child. She also didn’t talk about home too much, though she spoke about her family more than enough. Her family could be from anywhere though, so a lot of people were unaware of Fred’s being from England. ”Though, I strongly agree that commercial airlines are not worth the time. It’s like being on the ground, but with a view.” She added, shrugging. ”I hadn’t really expected it to be anything special though, for some reason the lack of available maneuvers irritated me,” she said smiling mischievously. She loved being able to move and control the plane into light movements and shifts that made for the exciting flight experience. Too many people were on the line in commercial flights for that. ”Also, I think that the lack of risk is too low too,” she added with another shrug. Part of the beauty of flying was the exhilaration that came with it for many reasons; first being the sheer fact that you are flying, the second being that you are defying natural law, and the third being that going up in a flight was never guaranteed a landing as often as it was in the world now. Fred smiled at the awe in Orville’s voice. ”It is amazing. Not to mention the idea of mass travel like that is brilliant. Look what you started!! It’s like a grandchild! Your child being the plane of course,” Fred said grinning. Her grin turned mischievous as the next words came out of her mouth as well, ”you’re exceptionally tall and fat grandchild.” She was of course referring to it in comparison to planes. But the amusement was there none the less. Fred was happy to hear that Oliver knew the feeling. There was an inner longing that couldn’t be curbed until it was fulfilled. ”It just increases the longing for the open and free air… She said, her eyes appearing a bit distant for a moment before she snapped back to herself. ”I miss flying more than I can explain,” Fred ended with.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words • 1208 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Break Away" by Kelly Clarkson ••
