FROM OLIVER WINCHESTER
Well, obviously the key is finding a way to keep yourself balanced while you're on the ice.
I'd say those would probably be best. I'm just left to wonder how much spare change kids that young could put toward a sled. I'll probably have to think about that when I make it. Maybe I'll ask my cousin Kristy, though I'm not sure how much help she'd be.
First you say better, than far far worse? You can't tell me that and keep me in the dark. Surely the rest of the Leader's Panel has gotten back to you. What is going on?

True, though I'd have to get the word out so that those parents know that they could get quality sleds on the cheap. Advertising's my best bet on that front.
Just tell me, Joan. If I'm going to find out eventually, might as well just tell me now...
-Long pause after he's told, followed by a whisper-
A normal? Cracked the code? Who?
-Definitely sounds worried now, and is likely thinking of the Anti-RSOR...-

Could try that out. Thanks, Joan.
She's actually willing to cooperate with us? That almost seems too good to be true.
If I'm finding out about this before everyone else, I suspect there's a reason...I assume she knows who I am. -Sigh- Who else does she know about, if you don't mind me asking?

I'll get on that right away.
I always try to be careful, Joan, so that shouldn't be too hard. How did she find out who I was? Errol and his big mouth earlier in the year? How did she find out about RSOR in the first place? If she can find out...who else can? -Sighs-

FROM OLIVER WINCHESTER
I hope there is something missing from her story. I don't like to think that she put everything together based on what you've given me so far.
You think I don't know it? -Sighs- I wouldn't have to worry nearly as much if it weren't for Errol. It's not like I asked him to come barging into our dorm, and that is what started everything.
Me? Just finishing up with Christmas gifts. As an aside, I had a very bizarre dream last night that involved steering the Flyer over a large city that was on fire to help people escape. There was a half-Egyptian kid there in one of our Flyers as well. He looked a bit like Iskander, but certainly wasn't him. At least I was in my old body, which was nice.
I'm beginning to think that I should lay off of coffee before bed once more.
What about you, Joan? Voices lead you on any crazy adventures lately?

The door was locked. I heard a knock at the door and went to open it, and he pushed his way in. -Mutters-
I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. He did seem vaguely familiar. Similar to Iskander, yet...not.
Well I suppose that's good. -Laughs- Almost finished with your Christmas present. It's been giving me a bit of trouble, but I think it'll stop acting up before Christmas. Either that or the dorm burns down. I'm sure you would prefer the former. Figures your present is the one potential fire hazard... -Chuckle-

I'm not going to argue with that.
It has to be.
-Chuckles- Yeah, I noticed. Most of my gifts seemed to be airplane themed, though. I wonder why? -Laughs- Except for Bonnie's gift. Don't think I'll be using that one myself, though I'm sure I can find someone who would take it. Has the angel made its rounds around the dorm yet?

I received two gifts from her, actually. One was an aviator jacket that I'm sure you'll see me wearing around. The other is a subscription to a magazine that is not exactly appropriate for school, if you know what I mean. -Sounds torn between amused and exasperated-
I know, I've witnessed you climbing around that church before.
You really took it to church with you? What did the priest think?

I have no plans to. Don't tell her I said that, though. I do appreciate the jacket.
Well...I guess that's good to hear. -Laughs- Did you do anything else for Christmas, or just attend church? We had Will and Kate over for dinner. They stayed in Riverdale this year.
-Pause- Will and Kate as in Wilbur and Katharine, my brother and sister. Not British royalty.

Snowball fights are always fun. Tell me, who ended up winning - You or the kids? -Chuckles-
Ah, royalty. Flying for them was always fun. The king of your home country in this life was practically begging Will to take him up. I took up the Crown Prince of Germany at the time. He was extremely persistent. He went so far as to call me at the hotel. Never had anyone do THAT before.
I just received a letter back from NASA! I entered in to this competition a little while back. Supposed to design a machine that might be used in the next 'space adventure', as they call it.
-Sounds of letter being opened, following by a long silence-
...and apparently, I'm disqualified for being overqualified? -Another long silence before it cuts off-

FROM OLIVER WINCHESTER
That's true. Plus I'm sure it made it more fun for them. Makes me miss playing with my nieces and nephews.
We usually didn't take royalty up. There was too much of a liability involved, as far as we were concerned. Still, when a guy goes through the trouble to look up where you are staying and call you there...it's hard to say no. The man earned his flight, what can I say?
-Sighs- Yes, it was. You have to admit that physically and biologically I do fit the criteria, though. Apparently they thought I was an adult sending it in claiming to be a kid, which I suppose is partially true. -Laughs- Not just any adult either. Flight is sort of my forte. Still, if they wanted to verify, my date of birth in this body does fit their criteria...

-Laughs- Hey, it's not often that kids can win a game against adults, unless they happen to have heavy duty advantages on their side like we do.
Even without the potential threat of triggering The Great War several years early...though it's not like we knew of the impending war at the time, it was still too risky to have the fates of royalty in our hands. Certainly not something I'd want to deal with, even now.
-Sighs- They could look it up and see that I don't have a flying ace in my current family, or even anyone who knows how to fly an airplane besides myself and my sister. Still....I suppose I have to concede your point. It's just frustrating.

FROM OLIVER WINCHESTER
How well did they do at this endeavor?
Oh, I realized that when I took the Crown Prince of Germany up. He had a blast. It's too bad Wilbur didn't take King Alfonso of Spain up, but there was an added factor to consider there - He'd promised his wife and advisers that he wouldn't go up. I don't think Wilbur wanted to incur their wrath and neither would I. -Laughs-
...yes, but if I was willing to go through the trouble to look all of that up on the internet, wouldn't you think that would earn me points?
Oh well. It's a moot point now.
A few hundred dollars. Given I work a maximum of 20 hours a week, I could always use some extra cash.
