((Please note you MAY NOT yet rp out the trip. More Epic is to come.))
Okay, so. Principal Hanston has no account on here, so she can't post this, so someone's got to do it for her. =P I hope she gets an account, but 'till then, I'm playing The Messenger. (If you get that reference, you get a cookie? XD)
Now, a lot of this could have gone on the bulletin board, but she did this so the normals wouldn't get too annoyed.
Here's some basic stuff:
- EVERYONE on this trip is a known reincarnate, teachers included. However, keep in mind we will be in public. So we can't exactly use our names, except in the rooms where we will be sleeping.
- Be relieved that we don't have to sleep among the exhibits. There's a series of side rooms set up like this:
room one - boys
room two/adjoining room - teachers
room three - girls
Bathrooms are attached to each of the rooms, so no worries there. Breakfasts are at the museum's cafe.
So, on that note, don't even think about trying to sneak in together, for all you couples. You'd risk waking the teachers and...awkward, much?
- Make sure your bags are locked.
- Sleeping bags, pillows and so forth are provided.ITINERARY
(A copy is available in the office, printing form here is disabled. Besides, do you want this remark on your itinerary anyways? I didn't think so.)
TRAVEL DAY
- Everyone up and at the school by 1 AM. Packed and ready!
- Buses out of Riverdale and to the airport; the bus trip will be about two and a half hours.
- Our flight leaves at 7 AM
- We land in Chicago, and transfer there. Why? I dunno. Ask the airline.
- That flight leaves at 10, so eat an early lunch at the airport.
- From there we fly to London.
- We will arrive there at about 6:00 PM.
- We arrive at Madame Tussauds once we all get through airport security. FOR THE RECORD, FOLKS; don't bring your swords/weapons/flying cars/stuff that's hard to explain and that would hold us up
- Once there, we get a tour of Tussauds. We'd be split into four groups and go about the place.
- At the end of all this, it should be about 10:00
- Go to bed.
DAY ONE
- Everyone up at 7 AM
- Wake up
- Breakfast
- At about 9 AM, we leave.
- We walk around London. This is probably to wake us up, given the long day before.
- We walk to the London Zoo, and spend time there. Lunch is had at the London Zoo. It is not paid for by the trip; nor are nay lunches, so make sure to bring some on top of spending money so you can eat.
- After lunch, at about 1:15, we go to the National Gallery. We stay there until 4:30.
- By 5, we should be Globe Theatre, where we get a behind the scenes show of how it would have worked in Shakespeare's time...
I'm sure Mr. Plunkett will be THRILLED with that. xP
Moreso since the people showing us around will pretend to be from the time period.
Sorry, Shakespeare...
- At 7:30, we eat supper at a nearby restaurant.
- At 8:40, all of us should be in our seats for Hamlet. The play starts at 9:00.
- By 11, we should be back or nearly so, to Madame Tussauds.
- As soon as we get there it's pretty much lights out.
DAY TWO
- Same morning routine, up to 9 AM (I'm typing this from a paper, I'm just saving time?)
- We take the bus to Westminster Abbey, and stay there until about 10:45.
- After that, we go to Trafalger Square and the Benjamin Franklin House.
- Lunch at noon. Nowhere in particular, just wherever we want.
- By 1:30 at the latest, we need to be at London Bridge.
- We go to Princess Diana's memorial briefly (thank the Lord we don't have her among our ranks! That'd be...weird.)
- Then, we take off to Windsor Castle! We stay on the grounds or in the Castle until 6, at which point we go eat supper.
- At about 8 PM, we go on a tour about Jack the Ripper. That will last until 10 PM or so.
- We also go to a convenience store of sorts at about 10:30 PM, in case anyone need snacks, a toothbrush, whatever.
- We're again back at Madame Tussades by 11 or so, and then bed.
DAY THREE
- Morning routine
- We head for the London Eye and stay there until about 11.
- Next, we go to Piccadilly Circus. We eat lunch there, and then get some "supervised free time" to shop around until 2.
- From Piccadilly, we catch the 2:20 train and head to the Stonehenge. We should be there by 4:00 at the latest, but it says on this sheet I type it from, closer to 3:40.
- We have a middle-aged themed tour; and rest of the day. People in character again....that's gonna get awkward for me, I don't doubt it.
- By 4:50 or so, we should be done that tour.
- We commence to Chislehurst Caves, and take the tour there.
- When we're done that, it should be roughly 7:00, where we are treated to a medieval banquet for supper all bells and whistles and costumes and such, in the Banquet House. Speaking from experience, it will not end at the supposed 9:00 time, it will probably end closer to 10:00.
- After this we go to the wax museum and sleep.
DAY FOUR
- SUPRISE...morning routine.
- We leave the Wax Museum for Pollock's Toy Museum, and we remain there until it is 11.
- We eat an earlyish lunch out in London, and then head out to the British Music Experience - it's a museum, and then the Cartoon Museum until almost four.
- We go down to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guard at 5:00.
- Once that's done, we go to St. Paul's Cathedral, and the botany gardens across the street. There is the option of attending mass at 7:00 OR spending all the time (until about 8:10 at the botanical gardens.
- We go and eat a freaking late supper at Piccadilly Circus, and then spend about an hour shopping again.
-Back to the museum and bed.
DAY FIVE
- Provided you didn't die in your sleep, we do the morning routine.
- We go to Big Ben, and we get to go inside it and see all it's mechanics! Awesome, right!
(BUT, you inventor sorts are explicitly warned by Hanston not to meddle. I'm watching you, Orville.)
- This tour will last until about 10:30
- We go to the London Aquarium and stay there until roughly 3:00.
- At 4:30, we take a short buss tour to visit any some minor historical spots have have missed.
- We eat supper at 6, then head to Piccadilly until 9 to do the last of any shopping we may want to do.
- We turn in early that night, since we need to be up early the next day.
TRAVEL DAY
- Everyone up at 3:00 AM, and ready to go by 4:30.
- We leave the museum at 4:40 and need to be at the airport by 5:30.
- Our plane leaves at 7:50. Once again, let's not do something dumb and get all of RSOR stuck in security, all right?
- We land in Charlotte, North Carolina, at 4:00 PM.
- Bus back to Riverdale; we should arrive there at about 9:00, gives road conditions and the time it takes to leave the airport.
And there you have it. The Itinerary and some tips.
If you have any questions, please post here. Either myself or one of the other leders will probably have an answer for you. : )
