For the Open House, Breezy Logan didn't have a booth. Having only come back to Riverdale a few months before, she hadn't had the chance to get too involved with any of the school clubs around Riverdale High. She was a new recruit for RSOR, but RSOR didn't have a booth for "safety reasons". As a result, Breezy was simply walking around and enjoying the scenery. She smiled as she passed her brother's drawing booth, where she could only assume he was making pictures in his usual Disney fashion for everyone who came by. It was only recently that she learned that her brother actually was Walt Disney, though it certainly wasn't much of a surprise when she looked back. There were all sorts of interesting booths, and thus far the booths were having their intended effects on Breezy. She found herself interested in a few of them. She wasn't sure if she would join any other than RSOR for the remaining duration of her freshman year, but there was always next year to take into consideration... Breezy was passing the creative writing booth when she spotted a familiar mop of hair. First her brother's blue hair, now Xavier's hair. For some reason she had a habit of finding herself around guys with odd hair. Recognizing him, she walked up to his booth and started to look around. "No ravens?" She stated in mock disappointment, then grinned. It was a remark as to his true identity, and yet it was discreet enough that no one other than those who were in RSOR would get it. Breezy was new to the tricks and the trades of RSOR, but it wasn't taking her long to learn them. Word count: 292 To: Xavier/Cal Notes: Nada

Xavier was sitting at a creative writing booth with a pile of very short poems cut into exact squares. They were cut into exact squares because he was folding them into origami and handing them to people. Most of the poems were the same, but he had a few that were different for people he knew. Those were in a different pile and already folded in a box by his feet though. The rest he was just looking up directions for them on his laptop and doing his best to imitate it. A few were thrown away as a result because they looked horrendous, but many of them weren’t too bad and he had a bit of a pile of them accumulating in front of him. The other person that was at his booth seemed to have vanished for the moment, and he was perfectly fine with that. For the moment he didn’t have any booths that he wanted to go see, and so was fine with letting his supposed partner leave for a bit to walk around.
It was then that he heard a familiar voice asking him about no ravens. He looked up and chuckled. ”I felt that would be a little too close, besides I have my own raven.” he said with a smile. Which, it was true enough being that he had a raven tattooed on him. If she asked about what he meant then he had no issue showing her either. ”Do you have your own booth or no?” he asked her while folding another one of the poems. This was one he knew well so he didn’t actually have to look at the directions this time. If she had a booth then maybe he would visit later, otherwise he might just offer to walk around with her and see the other things people were doing. He was curious as to what she was up to though because she was interesting to him. Not a ton of people talked to him, and she did which was different for him, but it wasn’t just that. There was something different about her than most others he spoke to as well. Thus, she was interesting to him, he just wasn’t sure what to make of her yet. He needed to talk to her more and such before figuring things out entirely.

When he indicated that a raven might be a bit too close, Breezy had to agree. Upon seeing the squares he was folding into origami, she had the brief thought to suggest that he make them into ravens, but decided against it. For one, that would be a lot more time-consuming than just folding squares. Secondly, as he'd stated himself, that might be too close for comfort. Breezy did have to admit that she was puzzled by his next statement. "What do you mean?" Again, she didn't see any ravens around anywhere, though that didn't mean that said 'raven', whatever it was, was actually at the booth. She shook her head when he asked if she had a booth. "Nope. I just came back to Riverdale a couple of months ago, and I haven't really gotten involved with too many clubs. Other than RSOR, of course." RSOR was different, though. She hadn't sought out RSOR, RSOR sought out her, as it usually went. This was the first time she'd actually scouted out some of the other clubs that Riverdale had to offer. It was especially interesting to see where her fellow reincarnates ended up. The vast majority ended up with clubs or booths that did relate to what they'd done in their past lives, though not to the extent where it looked any more peculiar than usual. She was sure at least part of that had to do with the note posted by Hanston on RSOR.com. That said, considering the conversation she was striking up with Xavier, she had a feeling she might be sticking at this booth longer than most of the ones she'd visited. A raven definitely might be too close for the leader panel’s comfort, and thus he would stick to just his poetry rather than getting too close to his old style with such an obvious resemblance. He didn’t want anyone to accuse him of copying his own work after all. Though he wasn’t exactly sure if he was still under copyright laws or not. It should be public domain by now shouldn’t it? Ah well, it wasn’t really his concern at the moment being that he had other things to think about. This particular one he was folding was actually a flower; it just didn’t exactly look like it at the moment. That was probably because he hadn’t finished working on it yet. Needed several more steps before it would look how it was supposed to. That is, if he folded everything perfectly. As he was folding he heard her next statement and smiled a bit. He figured she wouldn’t get what he meant, and thus was fine with showing her. He looked around a bit to make sure nobody was going to come over and yell at him before unbuttoning the top of his shirt and pulling it to the side for her to see the tattoo of a raven with nevermore written under it. Sure in the past it wasn’t his favorite work, but this way people wouldn’t question it too much being that it was not a hugely uncommon tattoo to get. He could also always get more later if he felt like it.
After a few moments he buttoned his shirt back up and finished the flower before placing it with the others in the top of a vase that seemed to be filled with them. Av then listened to her explanation that stated that she didn’t have a booth. ”That makes sense. It also gives you more freedom to walk around and see what you are interested in actually.” he said starting to fold another poem. ”What do you like to do anyway?” he asked deciding to scribble a poem in his lap while still paying attention to her at the same time. He would be basing how the poem went by how his answers were though. She probably also saw the bruises from him ice skating into a wall during an outing in which he ran into several other people from the school. It was, certainly an interesting trip that was for sure. He’d gotten quite a few bruises from it due to skating into walls or when he skated into Oliver and then fell over on him. Ah well, there wasn’t much he could have done about that either. It was fun to say the least though.

Watching as Xavier looked around, Breezy figured she would be getting an answer to her question soon after. Sure enough, Xavier started to unbutton his shirt, much to the surprise of Breezy (whose eyes widened a little at the thought that he might be stripping in the middle of a crowded gymnasium. Fortunately, he was only showing her a tattoo. "Fitting." She admitted with a grin. Though not so suspicious that it would draw unwanted attention. Breezy nodded in agreement with his assessment of her position. "Exactly what I was thinking. It's really not a bad idea on the school's part. Is this a yearly thing or something special for this year? If it's just this year, I'd suggest reconsidering. I mean, I didn't even know we had fashion club until now." Though a fashion club wasn't exactly Breezy's thing, she still did find it interesting to know that Riverdale High had one. His next question provoked a bit of thought for Breezy. "Well, I've always enjoyed reading. My father taught me how to read from a young age...before, if you know what I mean. I also like to sew, but again, I have a lot of practice with that. I enjoy it as more of a hobby now though than a necessity." The ability to sew in Breezy's first life was something akin to knowing how to cook in the 21st century. It was just something around the house that needed to be done, and it wasn't like families just settling in Boston could walk down to the mall to buy a new shirt if they ripped their old one. She was about to say more when she noticed his bruises. She raised an eyebrow at once, not knowing the source of these bruises...but finding that she wanted to know. "So, why do you have all these bruises?" She decided to be upfront with it and just ask. That many bruises usually meant something happened, and Breezy wanted to know what. He was pretty sure the first thoughts would be that he was stripping in the middle of a crowded gym. Fortunately, he had more decency than that, he was just showing her his tattoo because he wasn’t someone who got one on his arm. It didn’t look correct on a cylindrical canvas for his tastes so he got it on his chest instead. Besides, it meant kind of a lot to him so it was a good place for it in his book. Not something he was going to regret later like many adults thought. Most people considered what he did a fad, but really it was just who he was. Certainly he’d had a lifetime to figure that out and was now expressing it using the up to date means available to him. He heard her say it was fitting and grinned back before buttoning his shirt back up. ”It also is a slightly common tattoo so nobody would question it as anything other than me enjoying the poem.” he said. He definitely had put a thought or two into which one he chose before getting the tattoo. Not all of his works were popular enough to not raise question in the form of a tattoo, and there was the fact that some were hard to make into a tattoo.
He listened to what she had to say, and then she asked a question and he thought for a moment. ”This is the first that I recall. Maybe they just need to advertise the clubs more is the real issue. Or at least have a sign up day where each club has their own little table and explains what they do.” he said with a shrug. Might make things a little easier for the new freshman rather than just hoping they figured out what clubs were available and what clubs were not. Made sense to him after all, but maybe people liked their small clubs and didn’t want new members or something unless they put forth the effort to find them to begin with. That didn’t really make sense though. Actually he wasn’t exactly sure on the actuality of some of the clubs that had booths, it was probably more like a group of kids that do that in the RSOR room decided to make a booth and pretend it was a club due to the lack of RSOR booth. Which, honestly, he thought was pretty lame being that they could really just play it off as a risk club and play such at the booth along with coming up with different strategies. Ah well, he supposed the Principal either didn’t think of that or didn’t want that, and thus he wasn’t going to say anything about it.
He listened to her list a few things she liked to do and smiled a bit. ”Maybe you could find some sort of literature or book club to join.” he suggested. He wasn’t entirely sure Riverdale had one, but she could always start one and steal people to join her. It couldn’t be that she was the only reader in the school. I mean, he knew it wasn’t the most popular hobby anymore, but there had to be some interest in literature still. He might even consider joining that one. Her question made him blink a moment before he remembered that he was, in fact, covered in bruises. ”I may have slightly ice skated into a wall or three, and fell on the brothers wright.” he said quietly so that those around would not hear the comment about falling on Oliver and Nate.

Listening to Xavier's explanation, she had to concede that that much was true as well. He could easily pass it off as just being a fan of his own work rather than it actually being his work. Those in RSOR knew different, but Breezy already knew that secrecy was a must. She hadn't even discovered that her own brother and sister were reincarnates until recently. It made her wonder if Journey was one as well, honestly! Might as well go for all four. "Doesn't this count as a sign up day in some ways?" Breezy noted. Well, they were advertising the clubs in the hopes that someone would join them. The only thing that was missing was a sign-up sheet, and for all Breezy and Xavier knew, there might be other booths that had them. Breezy did find it strange that RSOR didn't have a booth, considering everyone in the school knew about RSOR, but at the same time, she could understand Hanston's reasoning. It wasn't as though RSOR really needed to advertise - It was so well known that there was a club protesting the fact that it was exclusive. Then, of course, there was the security issue to consider. At the same time? It likely sent out red flags to Anti-RSOR, who would only wonder that much more. The girl smiled. "Maybe. Or a religion club. Wouldn't mind having a few discussions..." In fact, she would quite enjoy it. She was still religious, and didn't mind discussing religion. She just hated organized religion, after what happened to her in her past life. Who could blame her? What, really, was so bad about hosting meetings at her house? In her annoyance, she very nearly missed Xavier's answer to her own previous question. It was hard to miss 'I may have skated into a wall or three', though. Breezy couldn't help but laugh, especially when the Wright brothers came into the mix. "That may be a sign that you need to take lessons." Breezy didn't have all that much experience ice skating herself, though she'd gone a couple of times before. She was pretty sure that she'd do better than he had, though that would remain to be seen. Word count: 386 To: Xavier/Cal Notes: Of course you do. =P

Her question or statement whichever it was made him think for a moment. Did it count as a sign up day? Sure some clubs had sign ups, but not all of them did depending on if they perpetually accepted new members or if they only did so at certain times of year. Another few moments of thought and he shrugged. ”I do suppose for some clubs it is. Though, not all clubs accept new members at all times of year. Some are specifically only open for signups at the beginning of the school year because of the layout of activities or whatever.” he said with a slight smile. It could also get confusing for random people to show up when there was a plan of who was doing what and then they could have been possibly left out for lack of something to do. That wouldn’t always be the case, and it wasn’t really hard to add people to a list of members, but it was probably a matter of preference and simplicity. For a school like Riverdale though, which got new people constantly at random times of the year, it should be a little more flexible. That was just his own opinion though and really he had absolutely no idea as to which the school or certain clubs did. Clearly, RSOR was one of the clubs that could be joined at any time if you were reincarnated. Just had to be recruited and then afterwards you were instantly a member being that they didn’t have sign ups at all and it was invite only.
Hearing her statement of a religion club he just raised an eyebrow. He could see that spiraling out of control really fast and lots of people being possibly offended. ”I feel like that would be a bad idea. Nobody likes their religion being debated about and take it horribly personal even when it’s an educated debate. People would get upset and then calls would be made to the school and the club would be disbanded most likely.” he noted with a shrug. People certainly were offended easily and shouldn’t join if they weren’t open minded, but that was never the case. Everyone always thought that their religion was the correct and best one so thus nice things like a religion club could not happen. It just seemed like something that would blow up and end horribly with lots of people offended and several others annoyed at how they were getting offended.
Her statement about him needing to take lessons made him grin and raise an eyebrow. That gave him quite an interesting idea. ”I kept getting distracted by the nonsense going on around me. You think you can do better?” he asked as a slight challenge. Now, would she take the bait was the real question. If she would then maybe they could go out and ice skate to see who could do better. Or, as far as Xavier was concerned, call it maybe a date. All there was left for the moment was wait for a response as he continued to make notes on the poem he was currently writing in his lap.

Something else to take into consideration was the fact that not all of the booths were actually for clubs. As far as Breezy knew, Creative Writing wasn't actually a club, but rather a class. Also, some were taking this open house to showcase school related hobbies and interests. That said, Breezy did notice that a lot of school clubs were utilizing it to advertise, and thus she considered it a sign-up day. "Well, there are some clubs that also accept on an invitation basis only, but they don't have a booth here. Can't say I blame them, though, if it's for sign-ups, since no one can actually sign up for RSOR in that way." If today was considered a sign-up day for clubs, it would offer an out for RSOR, who did not extend sign-ups in the first place. If they went with that story, it would seem a little less odd that RSOR didn't have a booth. Breezy made a face as Xavier countered her idea. "I guess you have a point." She let out a sigh. "Guess I'll have to stick to debate club then. It's just ridiculous that even now, it's hard to find a safe place to state your opinions without someone getting all uppity over it." It was clear by the annoyed look on Breezy's face that this hit a hot point with her. She understood separation of church and state, and had no plans to shove her religion down others' throats. That said, the idea of discussing different religions (especially with other reincarnates), as well as the Christian religion itself was one that Breezy was open to. She did agree with Xavier, though. It would be hard to keep those discussions civil. So Breezy supposed she'd just have to stick with a few select people she found to have such conversations. People like Isabella and Lenita. Caught up in this subject, Breezy very nearly missed the thinly disguised invite. "What, you want me to teach you to ice skate?" Breezy raised an eyebrow. That was almost what it sounded like. "I can't say I'm the best myself, but I guess I'm qualified enough. I don't skate into walls, at the very least, which is already better than you're doing apparently." Word count: 399 To: Xavier/Cal Notes: Yep =P

Well, maybe some of the booths weren’t clubs, but still they were available classes and it did show there were a lot more than one would originally guess. He wasn’t sure most people even knew there was a creative writing class unless they were looking for it, which probably went for a lot of the art classes too. Just one of those, we actually offer that? Anyway though, whether it was a sign up day or if it was just a random thing they were doing once and never again it was still vaguely interesting. Though he did suppose the fact that one person had to stay at the booth at all times was a bit of a drag. Meant that he wouldn’t be able to just walk around with people when he wanted, would have to wait for his partner to come back. Though he did suppose he could always steal a random person and make them guard it for a while. He did suppose that person could know nothing about creative writing and thus not get anything accomplished, but whatever he’d figure it out if he decided he wanted to leave.
Hearing her statement he shrugged. ”If we are going with that, then it makes perfect sense. If we go with any other explanation then it honestly doesn’t. I guess we don’t make the rules though and just have to do what we’re told.” he stated with a sigh. He doubted many others would see it that way and instead continue to question why RSOR wasn’t present at a showcase of clubs and activities. Would just cause more scrutiny and possibly cause more people to join the booth for Anti-RSOR in trying to find out the secret. He was glad he wasn’t on the leader’s panel because he thus didn’t have to deal with that crap. It was their job to keep the secret more than anyone else’s. Sure, the members had to keep their mouths shut, but other than that they weren’t in charge of anything major in case of a security breach. Such as what had happened with the whole keys going missing thing and members allowed to use any means necessary to gain them back. That turned into quite a mess after all, and he definitely did not want that to happen again. After all, he can’t imagine living on the stairs was pleasant for most of the lp. He wasn’t going to really worry about such things at the moment though and instead turned his attention to Breezy and noted how annoyed she looked at his counter.
He sighed when she said he had a point and that it was ridiculous that even now someone couldn’t state an opinion without someone else freaking out about it. ”Unless we all convert to having no religion at all I doubt a calm debate about religion will ever happen. Of course you can always state your opinion, it just isn’t always the right thing to do. There is a fine line between a logical debate and just looking like a jerk who hates the religion, and for some people the second you say anything against a religion that line is crossed unfortunately.” he noted with a slight frown. It was true enough after all and he had seen it blow up out of proportion when someone mentioned something they didn’t believe while an avid believer was at the table. Not something he would want to throw himself in the middle of that was for sure.
Her reply made him smile. ”Sure, if you would like to.” he said simply. Hey, it wasn’t really what he had in mind, but they could certainly go ice skating together that was for sure which that was the intended result. ”When and what time?” he asked figuring he might as well leave it up to her. This could be a very interesting trip indeed and he hoped that she would be willing to go soon.

Though having one person stay at the booth at all times might be a bit of a drag, it was a rule that made sense if you asked Breezy. What was the point of having a booth if there wasn't someone manning it? She just had to feel sorry for any booth that only had one person at it. There had to be rules set up that that person could take a break though, didn't there? It was a moot point for Breezy considering she didn't have a booth in the first place, but she couldn't help but wonder. "I think we'll have to go with that if anyone asks questions. It may not be the official ruling but it's the one that makes the most sense." She knew that the lack of a booth for the club was actually to protect secrecy, but really, what was the point in advertising a club that was invitation based in the first place? RSOR didn't recruit members by advertising, they recruited members by interviews and tests. Breezy sighed, knowing that Xavier's assessment was pretty spot on. "I know, and apparently I have a habit of looking like that jerk. Really, though, I had nothing against the religion itself, just the way they happened to conduct themselves." Breezy looked defiant at this point. In Boston, she hadn't been against the religion itself at all. She just had different views on acceptable ways to practice it, and it apparently sent people up in arms. The blonde shrugged as Xavier asked if she'd like to. "Sure. It's starting to get warmer out now and I wouldn't mind a nice, cold place to relax for a bit." If one could consider skating around a rink to be relaxing, considering it actually involved a lot of exercise...and crashing into things, in the case of Xavier. As for the where and when? "Probably some time this weekend?" She figured that the weekend was least likely to have schedule clashes. Breezy had no clubs other than RSOR, but she wasn't sure where Xavier stood on those terms. Word count: 369 To: Xavier/Cal Notes: A post is a post is a post?
