they love to play and shout, and never have any cares... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien was and always would be a child a heart. He may have fought alongside men and led men in war, but in his heart he enjoyed frivolity and freedom to just have a little fun. Those who knew only little of Lucien, knew him to be a prankster and an antagonist to the Anti-RSOR club. Those who met him, knew him to be a gentlemen in manners, but also sarcastic and known for teasing his friends. Those who knew him best, knew that in all of that Lucien just desired to have fun and that was what led to his jokes, pranks, sarcasm and even his treatment of women. Lucien respected and revered women, in a way that came from his past life, something normals couldn’t explain and known reincarnates often understood.
So that nature, that inner nature that everyone who knew him understood, was showing a little blatantly today. It was a Saturday, and for someone like Lucien who was in residence, that meant entertaining himself or bumming around his dorm. Lucien had been out shopping a week or two ago and picked up a monster sized slinky. It took two hands to hold comfortably and Lucien had been dying to try it out. So why not on a Saturday when there was minimal traffic in the main stairwell?
Lucien sat at the top of the stairs, in a pair of blue jeans, a T-shirt with a lion on it (a reference to his past life) and a red and orange scarf on to match. It was a decorative scarf and somewhat artsy looking, but scarves were something Lucien enjoyed wearing, even in weather with a decent temperature like today. The giant rainbow slinky was in his hands as he placed it at the top of the stairs. He hoped it was big enough to make it down the broad stairs safely and without incident. It had been too long since he had played with a slinky.
For Lucien, many of the toys from his childhood in this life were unheard of when he was a child the first time. Collectors cards, slinkies, pogs, furbies they didn’t exist back then for him to play with. As a child in this life he made extensive use of them and found that now that he was old enough to understand and compare the two, this childhood had been a lot more fun for toys, but the past one had been a lot more fun for people and friends. It was a trade off really. Toys meant less need for other people. In the past, mobs of kids got together to run around and have fun, while also doing their share of work for the family. It was a different life but still enjoyable.
Lucien snapped out of his reminiscing and glanced down the hallway and then over the railing of the stairs to make sure it was clear. He wasn’t exceptionally thorough as he just wanted to release the slinky and watch it walk down the stairs. He turned back to the toy, lifted the ring and let it start tumbling. Lucien couldn’t help the amused and somewhat childish smile that erupted across his face at watching it tumble down and down...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday. Middle of the weekend. And where was Elena? Spending some time with her family by going out to eat for lunch. Not to mention that her big brother Derek had gotten an internship through his school. It was time to celebrate! Elena is proud of her brother and the internship. Well, she's usually proud of him anyway. He wasn't dropping out or doing something stupid with his life like some of his friends have done. She really looks up to him. And not to mention the fact that he's about 6 feet tall, so she has to look up. Ha ha. Anyway, it was good for her to be away from campus. At least for a little while. Dealing with those 2 girls who decided to pick on her was a bit exhausting for Miss Elena. It wasn't her fault that they can't handle someone talking back. Oh well. Doesn't matter now. It can wait until Monday. Elena was too busy enjoying her family's company. Her grandma made it out with them as well, which pleased Elena a lot, since she felt a little sick a while ago. It was good that she's feeling better. Elena had chosen not to wear glasses today. Had her contacts in, just to change things up a bit. I bet no one at school would think it's me, she thought to herself. She hasn't really worn her contacts yet, so it will be interesting. Elena was dressed a little on the girly side, too. Wearing a yellow sundress and brought a white cardigan with her, in case she got cold. Her hair was braided and on top of her head, was a fedora. She and her family chatted, catching up on things in each other's lives and what not. Elena didn't tell them about the girls, though. Didn't want to worry her parents or her grandmother. Heck, even her brother. They had worried enough, back in their hometown. A place that Elena never really wanted to go back to. The town with not-so-good memories for her.. When their lunch was over, they took Elena back to school. Elena bidded them farewell at the entrance. Her mother hugged her so tightly, that her father had to pull her off Elena. Little chuckles had been heard. Elena waved, as they headed out of sight. Now, it is time to head back to her dorm and get started on homework. She made her way towards the building and was soon inside. As Elena was headed to the main stairwell, she heard an interesting sort of noise coming down the stairs. She stopped at the bottom of the stairwell, listening. "What in the world...?" she softly said to herself. Then, as the slinky came within sight, she couldn't help but to chuckle. It stopped by her feet and she leaned down, picking it up. "I haven't seen a slinky in quite a while. Especially one this size." she commented, turning it over in her hands. She was amused, while some at this school would be rude enough to either take it for themselves or hide it from the owner. She rolled her eyes at the thought. Then, footsteps coming down caused her to turn her head and spot the would-be owner coming to fetch his toy. Attire: please click right here.

they love to play and shout, and never have any cares... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien took in the somewhat girl appearance the girl at the bottom of the stairs had. The yellow sundress was quite pretty on her, and the hat made the ensemble quite cute. Lucien tried to school his childish side immediate as he was in the presence of a lady. And all ladies deserved to be treated like they were special. He made note of the slinky in her hands, and even from the distance had heard her comment about the size of it and how it had been a while since she had seen one. Lucien’s smile flared to life, at the comment and only grew at the sight of her. She was like a lovely flower after all...
Lucien strolled over to her with that smile and said ”Hello, I don’t not believe we have met. My name is Lucien Sharp, and who might you be if I may be so bold?”
He asked with his casual charm. Lucien knew how to speak to just about anyone. He had social skills many had reason to be envious of and a smooth and charming air to him that came naturally. He also had a way of making a person feel like they were the only one in the room, a skill to be sure. ”I see you found my slinky. Do you maybe want to give it a tumble as well, assuming you don’t have a prior engagement?” He asked, eloquently and giving her the chance to play with it as well. As he said as much he gestured toward the stairs, his manner having completely changed from the way he acted when it was just him and the way he handled a lovely woman. The manners and grace required were engrained in him from a previous life. And treatment of a woman was much more respectful and particular back then, not to mention he had been charming and well-mannered even then. Perhaps a little over the top some might say... Lucien had no idea what grade this girl was in, but he knew he hadn’t seen her before. The air about her suggested to him she wasn’t a freshman, and then again it was always hard to tell at Riverdale. Reincarnates walked the halls the confidence and air about them would deceive anyone. Even the freshmen walked with a purpose and a knowledgeable air. You’d never guess they arrived at the school just that year with the way most of them acted...the RSOR ones that is. He knew he hadn’t seen her in the RSOR room, and he tried to recall seeing her in the halls at school. All he knew was she wasn’t a sophomore or he’d have introduced himself by now. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the slinky's owner came into view, a half-smile seemed to touch upon her lips. Elena didn't recognize the boy before her, she would have by now - if he was a junior like herself. A moment or two had passed by. The boy was the first to break the silence between the two of them. ”Hello, I don’t not believe we have met. My name is Lucien Sharp, and who might you be if I may be so bold?” She couldn't help but to slightly raise one of her eyebrows. Lucien was a name she hadn't really heard of before, but found it to be interesting. "Nice to meet you, Lucien. I am Elena. Elena Flint." she answered, gesturing to herself when she said her name and almost dropped the slinky in the process. She had prevented the drop and kept it under control. ”I see you found my slinky. Do you maybe want to give it a tumble as well, assuming you don’t have a prior engagement?” She looked down at the slinky in her hands, biting her lower lip. Elena used to enjoy playing with a slinky. "Well, homework is an engagement that can wait a little longer.." she said, as she looked back up at Lucien. "May I?" she added, slightly gesturing toward the landing. She didn't plan to go very far with Lucien's slinky. The little girl in her seemed to be dancing around with joy. It's been a while since Elena let her inner child out to play for a bit. Cooped up for way too long, I would say. Ever since Greg...not gonna go there. Not right now, anyway.

they love to play and shout, and never have any cares... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien noted how she raised an eyebrow and assumed it was based on his manners, not his name. Many people were usually surprised by that and he had never had comments on his name before. He certainly liked Lucien better than his former name of Paul. Ultimately he went by Lucien more than he had gone by Paul in the past anyways. The Majority of people called him Sir, Major Vorbeck (from his times in East Africa) and General Vorbeck following that. Sometimes people would leave on the Lettow part of his name, but for simplicity, generally he allowed his men to call him by title or simply with Vorbeck. Lettow-Vorbeck was a mouthful!!
Lucien locked away her name in his memory, being sure he knew which face it belonged to. He wasn’t so diligent in remembering names when the faces were not as beautiful...meaning the gents could wait till he got it worked out, the ladies deserved to be remembered. ”Well Miss Elena...”
He tested out her named, finding the name quite pretty. ”It is a pleasure to meet you.” He offered, reaching for her hand and kissing the top of it in the respectful manner he was taught. This had caused many different reactions in the women of this lifetime. Lucien had reverted back to these manners as early as 6 years old in this life. Adults at that time had found him absolutely adorable, and his parents got a good laugh from the behaviour. Now that he was older, many assumed it to be a joke, others found themselves blushing and some even found it charming. Lucien straightened back up with his miraculous posture and allowed her to have her hand back of course. It seemed she was considering his offer of sharing the slinky and grinned when she mentioned that homework could wait. ”A fair choice...” Lucien agreed. He didn’t do his homework till the night before generally. He was too busy with his shenanigans to care about homework. He’d lived a great life already, he had most of the skills he needed to fast track his homework with decent marks. Of course. It’s all yours...” Lucien offered, gesturing to the stairs. He turned to walk back to the top, assuming she’d fall into pace beside him. It was habit really, being the gentleman who guided the ladies when social protocol called for it. ”So which grade are you in, if you don’t mind my asking?” He asked out of curiosity. ”I am a sophomore for the moment...” He offered, finding it polite to answer a question before the one you direct it at answers. It’s only fair to give the information before receiving. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ”Well Miss Elena...” She cracked a half-smile, hearing the sound of her name on his tongue. Then, he spoke up again. ”It is a pleasure to meet you.” As Lucien took ahold of her hand, planting a kiss on top of it, she could feel her cheeks heat up. Elena has never had anyone do something like that to her. Ever. He's definitely the first one. A soft exhale had slipped from her lips, as he let go of her hand and straightened back up. A moment came and went, as they stood there. ”A fair choice...” She nodded her head to his response on her homework comment. Some would say that Elena was a bit of a nerd, in the sense that she tends to do her homework in the same night it was received. Well, so? It leaves her a lot more time to do her own thing and not have to rush to get it done. Like most of her classmates. Some don't even bother. But that wasn't Elena at all. She was raised to be a reliable, studious sort of student. It is like second nature now, not hard for Elena to buckle down and get it done. Her father taught her well. Though if he can only see how studious she is, about her music, but until then..she'll keep it up anyway. Of course. It’s all yours...” She followed his gesture up the stairs and walked. Lucien was by her side, joining her walk to the landing. ”So which grade are you in, if you don’t mind my asking?” She turned her head at him, as she made it to the landing. ”I am a sophomore for the moment...” Her lips cracked a smile. "Guess that makes me the older one here, I'm a junior..." she responded with a little chuckle in between her words. Elena turned toward the edge of the landing, slowly going down on one knee. She balanced the slinky on the edge, but had made sure it didn't fall until she was ready. Once she was all set, Elena lightly touched it and let it make the descent downward. A little giggle escaped from her lips, as she watched it head down..

they love to play and shout, and never have any cares... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien was pleased to see the half smiled and hoped to see a full smile shortly. He appreciated women, and the pretty ones even more. Elena was very attractive and he was sure she would look even lovelier with a smile. Lucien appreciated females in a strictly observant way however. He was perfectly loyal to any lady he was with and if with no one he remained respectful and far from being any type of womanizer. It wouldn’t be surprising if people thought otherwise but once someone got to know Lucien, it was clear he was being genuine. It also was clear that he enjoyed the jealous response from the boyfriends of the ladies he was being a gentleman to. Anything to get a rise...
Lucien couldn’t help the amusement he got in the evidence of her blushing. That was a common response to his planting a kiss on a lady’s hand. In today’s world these women were not treated with the respect they deserved. Of that Lucien was certain. Poor manners such as going first through a door, not opening it for her or cursing or rude behaviour around a lady was not acceptable. Unless of course that lady was in Anti-RSOR and deserved the more troll-like treatment. Even then Lucien was more comfortable harassing males. Mistreating women was something he had taken time to force himself into. Even then it felt unnatural to tease them or fail to continue with proper etiquette.
Lucien couldn’t help the smile on his face when she claimed to be the older one. He didn’t correct her, even if it was quite the opposite. There were very few in RSOR who were older than Lucien in years lived. He was fifteen years in this life but he had lived ninety-four years in the past. He had spent a grand total of a hundred and nine years living. Even if she was a reincarnate, it was likely Lucien was her senior, despite what was apparent. At Riverdale, nothing was as it seemed.
”A Junior. Hmm...that does explain some. Did you start here as a freshman or come later?”
He inquired politely. ”I’ve been here since Freshman year, myself.” He added, once again answering his own question first. If she had been here since freshman year, it was unlikely she was a reincarnate after all. Lucien’s smaller smile grew when he saw the delight she had at letting the slinky tumble down the stairs. The giggle was adorable and he couldn’t help being delighted himself. He was able to appreciate her enjoyment as much as if it was his own. Happiness in the little things had helped him through many battles and he could still appreciate it amongst civilian life...even modern civilian life. He watched the slinky tumble its course and stop at the bottom. He proceeded down to collect it and return it to her offering a second time, this time just by holding it out for her.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Elena Flint •• •• Words • 494 •• •• Outfit • Blue Jeans and a T-shirt with an African Lion on it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things seemed to be different. Felt different. At least that is her opinion. With Lucien, Elena wasn't afraid or as some might say a bit paranoid about being around him. She has a bit of baggage with her, but then again, who doesn't in this world? Am I right? But Lucien appears to be different and she liked that about him. ”A Junior. Hmm...that does explain some. Did you start here as a freshman or come later?” She couldn't help the small exhale, sharp and soft, escape from her lips. "I came later.." she responded. ”I’ve been here since Freshman year, myself.” She nodded her head. So, Elena's the newbie here. She wasn't offended by that fact, just accepted it. Didn't matter to her. "Ah." she simply said. Elena couldn't help the giggle that escaped her lips, as the slinky tumbled down the stairs and stopped at the bottom. A couple of moments passed by. She was about to go down the stairs to get it, when Lucien beat her to the punch. She stood up and waited, as he picked it up and came back up. He held it out to her. Elena briefly bit her lower lip, as she met his eyes. "You're giving me one more shot?" she asked, but already seemed to know the answer without him even speaking.
