----------------------------------------------------------------------------- You don't know my name you don't know anything about me I try to play nice I want to be in your game----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another day filled with classes has drawn to a close. Elena Flint began to collect her things and put them away into her bag. She had her hair pulled back in a braid, which draped over one of her shoulders. She was dressed in a simple-enough outfit, complete with her pair of red Converse. At first, it would let her blend in a little bit. Not so much, especially with a few people in this school with Elena-radar or something. Elena inhaled slow and deep, as she slid her notebook into her bag. She then got up from her seat in the back and made her way to the exit. "Elena." her teacher said, as she was about to step out the door. Elena slowly turned around to face her teacher, a half-smile touching upon her lips. A brief moment passed, as the teacher held out something to her. "Your paper." she said. Elena bit her lower lip briefly, realizing that she almost had walked out without grabbing her graded paper first. "Thanks." Elena had answered, taking it from her teacher. Not bothering to look at the grade yet. "You did a really good job, Elena. Don't let those girls get to you, alright?" the teacher added, before Elena walked out. "I won't." she said, walking out. Her teacher had been referring to the girls who shoved Elena in lunch the other day, had the same last class as her. Those two seem to have it out for Elena since that day she stood up to them. Maybe they weren't used to anyone doing so, at least that is what Elena thinks. She took a deep breath, looking around to see if they waited for her to come out. The coast looked to be on the clear side. At the moment, anyway. Elena didn't plan to wait, so she took off down the hall and soon...she was outside. She headed towards the grounds, letting her feet carry her. The cool afternoon air blew past her. She barely noticed it, though a little shiver shot through her. Once she made it there, she found her usual spot under one of the trees and settled down. With a quick glance around and not seeing the terrible two, Elena took her notebook and mp3 player out of her bag. One by one, Elena put her earbuds into her ears. She enjoyed making music. It can be writing it or playing it or both. Her mom calls Elena her "little budding composer." Much to her father's dismay. Though he has yet to see or hear her play. Oh well. His loss. She put a recording of one of her songs on her mp3. Scrolling to find it, she grabbed a pencil. Time to put lyrics to the song. Once she found it, she clicked and it started to play. She began to sing along with the tune, using "la" since there are no words yet. SONG CREDITS:"Outside Looking In" -- Jordan PruittClick here for attire. OOC: Hope this works lol

School was a wonderful thing. Isabella couldn't say she enjoyed homework, but she tried not to complain. After all, there was a time when no one, let alone people like her, could get an education and learn to read. She tried not to complain to much, but she did dislike math. It was hard for her. Isabella liked languages, the studies of anthropology, warfare, gym, and the arts. She appreciated math and science, but it went over her head often enough. She got the concepts, but...they just didn't work as well in her mind. So when the bell rang o signify the end of math, Isabella was glad, even if it meant...you guessed it....
Math homework. In an attempt to make it more pleasant, the brunette girl shoved her books away and headed for the great outdoors, somewhere on the grounds where he'd be mostly alone to focus, but not cooped up in a dorm by her lonesome. Open sky and some grass and trees sounded like a good place. Not too many distractions, but not a while room with nothing in it, either - not that her dorm had nothing in it, it was a mess, but that was another story - that would drive her insane.
She wove through throngs of people to get to the exit, and then took her time across the grounds. It was a lovely day, and Isa was glad she just had her short sleeved T, not a hoodie or anything else. The breeze was nice, and the sky was blue. Perfect for a game of soccer...or, in her case, working out polynomials. After some walking, she came to a small copse of trees and threaded through it, looking for a place to sit when she heard some humming. Or some kind of humming - a song composed of 'la's' to a tune. Curious, Isabella moved towards the source of the sound. The singer didn't sound like any of the musicians that she knew of around Riverdale. The singer, firstly, was female and not Drizzle Beneto, and was female, so couldn't be resident asshole Errol.
She came out of the trees to see a girl about ten feet to her left, the singer, it seemed. Isabella had seen her a couple times around school, she thought. The girl seemed a bit shoved around, form what she saw, as well. So, Isa, being the typical Isa, walked over. While straight-backed with a long stride, Isabella didn't come just marching in, the kinda meandered over, hoping not to startle the girl too much; she did seem a bit lost in thought. Once the sophomore had closed the distance between the two, she spoke, a very light french accent on her words.
"Hello," She began with a smile. She looked the girl over, and at her notebook, which caused her brown eyes to light up. "I don't mean to pry, but I heard you, and...are you writing a song?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- You don't know my name you don't know anything about me I try to play nice I want to be in your game---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elena stared at the blank notebook page before her, singing "la" to the tune she created, in hopes that she can find the words to go with it. Writing lyrics isn't always easy to do. Especially with a budding composer like herself. Elena's muse seems to be absent at the moment, though. As the music played, she began tapping her pencil against the side of her notebook. Out of pure habit for the most part, but the tapping kept in time with the tune. She barely noticed as a girl meandered over to her, until the girl spoke up. "Hello," Elena looked up and pulled one of the earbuds out. She cracked a half-smile, not wanting to seem rude or annoyed by the girl. She was only curious. "I don't mean to pry, but I heard you, and...are you writing a song?" Elena's cheeks heated up a little, hearing that the girl heard her singing. She wasn't used to people hearing her yet. "Yeah, well...trying to. I seem to be hitting writer's block..or composer's block or..either way, I'm stuck." Elena managed to say, with some stammering in the midst of her words. After a moment or two, Elena set aside her notebook and held out her hand to the girl. "I don't believe we've been introduced. I'm Elena." she then added. It never hurt to make a new friend and in this school, you can probably use all the friends you can make. A few moments came and went, as Elena waited for the girl to respond. OOC: Better late than never lol

The girl certainly seemed cautious. Isabella noted the look of caution on her face, and the half smile as she removed her ear buds. Isabella saw her once or twice around the school, but not much. Usually Isa was in a group of people, rsor-ites or otherwise, and so probably not that approachable to a new girl.
At Isa's words, the other girl blushed, and Isa bit back an apology as the girl began to speak; interrupting, she guessed, would probably make things worse. Instead, she put her hands in her jean pockets and listened. She noted the stammer, and wondered if it was something she had done, or normal for the girl. "Well, I hardly know a place better for breaking the block than outside, at least?" When the other girl extended a hand, Isa pulled her right hand from her pocket and shook the hand, meeting Elena's eyes as she introduced herself and smiling again.
"I'm Isabella Avadore." Isa said with a smile. Her distinctly Spanish name stood out against her accent, something that people had pointed out before, but she honestly didn't think it was that weird. "You can call me Isa, everyone does. Less of a mouthful." She added with a laugh, then paused a moment. "Do you mind if I sit here for a bit? If you want to focus on your music that's fine, but you seem new here. And I don't really want to do my math homework." The sophomore added, rather honestly. It wasn't a sin to procrastinate on homework much. There was a line between straight-up sloth and delaying to make a friend, after all. Honestly, religion had changed so much since she was last alive, it was like the rulebook had been rewritten. Some of it she liked. Some of it she didn't, but the world changed and so religion needed to keep up. After all, God's word was applicable always and forever, but changes in science altered what it was believed he meant. For example, in her past life, Isa believe creationism without question - there was no such thing as evolution. But after a date, in both sense of the word, with Darwin, she had come to a new idea altogether; one she believed in wholeheartedly. But that was neither here nor there. She forced Xelios from her mind, and focused on the girl, maybe a sophomore or junior, in front of her.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- You don't know my name you don't know anything about me I try to play nice I want to be in your game---------------------------------------------------------------------------- For about a millisecond, Elena thought that the girl wasn't going to respond. But she did. "Well, I hardly know a place better for breaking the block than outside, at least?" She slightly nodded her head, agreeing with the girl completely. She liked to be around outside, even if it wasn't about writing music. Elena's escape, it was. "Indeed." she answered. When Elena held out her hand, the girl pulled her hand from her jeans pocket and took it. Elena smiled, as they shook briefly and let go. "I'm Isabella Avadore." She gave her a nod of her head. Interesting, though..is that a French accent, I hear?, she thought to herself. Her song drew to a close and she hit 'repeat' and then 'pause.' "You can call me Isa, everyone does. Less of a mouthful." She couldn't help but to chuckle a little bit, but saw Isa's point. She even laughed, too, which was good since Elena would feel a bit nervous if she was the only one to laugh at it. "Indeed, it is." she said. A moment came and went, then Isa spoke up again. "Do you mind if I sit here for a bit? If you want to focus on your music that's fine, but you seem new here. And I don't really want to do my math homework." Elena cracked a smile, as she nodded. "Fine with me." she answered simply. After a brief pause, a light bulb seemed to go off inside her head. Elena turned her head to look at Isa. "If you want, you can help me with my music.." she suggested. She wouldn't feel bad, if Isa refused her offer. It never hurt to try and see. She could always use a second opinion.
