----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday. The beginning of the school week and end of the weekend. For some, it's a love-hate relationship. One week, you can't wait for it to arrive. And the next, you could dread it like it was a pop quiz in your least favorite subject. Whatever it is, Mondays are here to stay and won't be going anywhere. Elena Flint seems to dread today for some reason. Could it be that she barely slept last night? A memory from her past came back to haunt her dreams. She had woken up in a cold sweat, feeling her scars as if they were freshly made. Thank goodness Elena didn't wake up her roommates. That would be an interesting thing to explain. She hasn't spoken to anyone here about the scars on her forearm. Of course, Elena tries to hide them as much as she can. But once she got started with her classes and was playing music again, Elena seemed to feel better about the day ahead. She was dressed to blend in, her bowler hat completed the outfit. A couple of looks were thrown her way, since how many people wear that type of hat these days? Well, so what? It's her outfit, her choice. Elena has a unique sense of style, what can I say? Her mood seemed to go back to normal again, once lunch was in session. She made her way to the cafeteria and before too long, was in line to get her food. She had turned to look around for an open spot to sit, two girls slipped into line in front of her. She bit her lip, before muttering to herself "How rude.." One of the girls whipped her head around and stared at Elena. "Did you just say something, pipsqueak?" the girl hissed. Elena had stared right back at the girl. "Well?" the other girl said when Elena didn't answer. She cracked a half-smile. "I'm sorry, but I don't answer to 'pipsqueak.' Feel free to try again." she responded. One girl's jaw dropped and the other glared. They whipped their heads back around, as the line had started to move again. Elena made it through the line, tucking her notebook underneath her arm to grab a lunch tray and filled it up. The girls, on the other hand, weren't going to let her get away that easy. A moment passed, as Elena looked around for a spot. A little shove sent Elena to the ground. Her tray and notebook flew. The food is on the tray still, thank goodness. But a few papers escaped from her notebook. She moved to collect them, as one of the girls had walked on her papers. Ripping one of them in half. Then, the girl stopped and said "Was that something important, huh?" She cackled and her friend joined in, as they walked away to their spot. Elena hung her head in defeat. There goes homework, she thought to herself as she picked it up. Now, it looks like she will have to re-do it. As she sat on the floor for a moment, looking at what's left of her homework, Elena heard a voice and she looked up. OOC: Hope this works lol ^^

Cam didn't really mind mondays. After all his week never seemed to stop. Working two jobs around going to school and having to do homework didn't give him a lot of time to have some time out. Of course he gave himself time to relax or he would eventually go crazy but unfortunately he didn't have enough free time to dread the beginning of each week. Thus he was in a much better mood than a lot of the student body today who was still missing the weekend. In fact he was in that good a mood, that he walked through the cafeteria holding his homemade lunch whistling to himself.
Unlike Elena receiving strange looks to her ensemble of the day, Cam hardly got the odd look. People were used to Cam. He liked to banter, he liked a good laugh and he was almost always in a pretty snazzy mood. It was kind of normal to see him go about his day, beat boxing one minute to opera singing the next. Hell he could do cartwheels through the cafeteria and people would be more used to it than what Elena was wearing. There were the odd few who had to go and try and spoil his fun but Cam was quite content with the fact that he wouldn't have to see those people after finishing high school.
However one thing that bugged Cam to no end was seeing people push others around. His whistling stopped as he turned to look over the lunch queue, where an argument seemed to be forming between three girls. Honestly, he would have been quite happy to have left it alone for them to sort out between themselves. Disputes happened all the time after all. The fact that two were on one though threw that point of view out of the window. Now that was unfair. Other students were looking over at the three girls and Cam was unashamedly one of them. Luckily it seemed to diffuse quickly as the girl who the other two were talking heatedly to stood up for herself before walking off. Now that was something Cam liked to see!
He carried on his trek to a table to begin his lunch before spotting the very same girl with the bowler hat stop and look about for a table...and the two chicks from the line coming up behind her. Oh dear. In front of the lunch room, they tripped her up sending her food tray and her notepad flying, before saying something else and walking off laughing. Cam rolled his eyes and stood up. He didn't know the girl on the floor but no one else was in a hurry to help her pick her stuff up. And plus, Cam was a gentleman. It was not very gentlemanly for him to sit on his ass and watch the poor girl struggle.
He wandered over to where she was sitting on the tiles, before bending down and picking up a piece of paper. "Dear diary. Today some half brained, Abercrombie and Fitch wearing prep girls tripped me up and made me drop my notes. Luckily super Cam came to the rescue. Boy is he handsome!" He looked down at her a cheeky grin on his face. Obviously joking. He offered a hand out to her. "Here, let me help you up. That floor isn't that greatest places to eat after all." He waited to see how she would react, hand extended. Tags: Elena/Jules Listening to: Thoughts: I'm sorry this took forever! Word count: 631

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Dear diary. Today some half brained, Abercrombie and Fitch wearing prep girls tripped me up and made me drop my notes. Luckily super Cam came to the rescue. Boy is he handsome!" When Elena looked up, she saw a boy standing there above her with her paper. She could feel her eyes widen a little bit, but that was all. Past experiences with boys threatened to make an appearance, but she pushed it down. The boy cracked a cheeky grin, so he couldn't be meaning any harm. Right? The voice in the back of her head was whispering otherwise. It is best known as her doubt talking. "Careful, now. He might leave you hurt and scarred, just like your neightborhood boy..." it whispered. She gently bit her lower lip, telling the voice to shut up silently. She didn't need to think about him now. Not ever. "Here, let me help you up. That floor isn't that greatest places to eat after all." Elena couldn't help but to hesitate briefly, then slowly took his offered hand and got up onto her feet. She collected her things and her food tray. Good thing that didn't spill all over on the floor. She didn't really want to go through the line again, to get her lunch. "Thank you..Cam, is it?" she then said. A moment came and went. "I'm Elena." she added. Yay, now don't you see? He won't hurt me. Why would he help me up if he planned to?, she mused. Her doubt chimed in with its opinion. Because you won't expect it. Give you a false sense of security, thinking he can be trusted.., it purred. She inhaled slow and deep. Hush!, she snapped silently. OOC: Better late than never lol
