If there was one place you could count on never finding Felix, it was the athletic fields. Anything was preferable to the stench of sweat, misery, and broken spirits, and yet today he found himself in the one place he swore to never go willingly. Sand from the track had somehow found its way in between his toes and try as he might, he couldn't seem to wiggle away from it. He was sweating, but there was no breeze to take away the heat, and to make things worse, the bottoms of his basketball shorts kept sticking to the backs of his knees and thighs. All he wanted was to take a nice ice-cold bath and drown himself in it to prevent himself from ever making a stupid decision like this one ever again.
He collapsed onto the bleachers, not caring that the metal had soaked up most of the sun's death rays and was currently burning a hole through his skin. He knew he would regret this later, but then again, he was already regretting it. Of all the stupid, self-destructive things to do, he had chosen to run laps on the hottest day of the year, and he had no idea why. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he was reminded of the failing grade on that last Mathematics test and the fact that the school counselor had put him on self-harm watch, but as soon as the thought came, it was gone, shoved back into the box of things he didn't want to even think about thinking about.
Despite the fact that his legs felt like they had been crushed by a monster truck and his vision had recently gone on strike from lack of hydration, as he leaned back, he couldn't resist a toothy grin. Yep, he was definitely insane. His therapist had said he had a self-destructive streak, and now he believed her. For some reason, he found it all very amusing- almost as amusing as the fact that if he didn't get water very soon, he was going to have a heat stroke. Unfortunately, he hadn't thought to bring a water bottle, and the water fountain was all the way across the field. He stared at it for a minute before relaxing, thinking, I'll just wait here until I cool off. Then I'll crawl over there. He simply tucked his legs underneath each other and leaned back against the riser behind him, eyes squinting against the harsh light of the sun.

Model airplanes. They weren't quite the same as the real thing, but they'd have to do for now. A bright, sunny day in the middle of May seemed like the perfect time to test out one of the latest models. Oliver and Nate built it, of course - They build the vast majority of the machines that they tested. On the rare occasion that they didn't, it was likely either one borrowed from a friend or purchased as a control model against one of their own making. Sometimes indoor testing caused more problems than it was worth. Oliver could still remember that moment when he was leaving a voicemail for Joan of Arc, now known as Isabella Avadore, and his train of thought was interrupted by a model plane careening into the side of his head. There were fewer obstacles outside, and thus far less of a chance of any sort of collision. Oliver didn't mind fixing things up (in fact, he quite enjoyed it), but not something that he'd just barely tested for the first time! Oliver opted to take a trip out to the athletic fields for this one. If he timed this correctly, there were no practices going on at this point, and thus he'd have the field to himself. The last thing he wanted was for someone to bite his head off because the model plane accidentally collided into them. Though the thought of a model airplane chasing after a few unsuspecting runners on the track was admittedly an amusing mental picture. Oliver chuckled at the thought. He wouldn't try to run into any of them, of course, but it would make for an entertaining prank, especially if they had no idea where the model plane was coming from! Though, admittedly, almost anyone in RSOR would be able to make an educated guess...and some outside of RSOR as well. When Oliver arrived at the track, the first glance he took showed him that the track was deserted. He set the one foot model plane down on the ground, testing out a few of the controls gingerly while the plane was still grounded before steering it into the air. The plane was already in flight when he noticed that he wasn't alone after all. Slightly startled, Oliver nearly dropped the control in his hands, but managed to keep a good enough grip so as not to have it go tumbling out of his hands. It did, however, give him an idea. Oliver wasn't always the type to go approaching people, especially those he didn't know well. And he was far enough away from this other young man that he couldn't tell if he knew him or not. At the very least, he could tell it was not Errol, or else he wouldn't have given his idea an extra thought. He did not want any of his and Will's models anywhere near Errol. Hell, he didn't want to be near Errol period. A fly by approach, however? That he could do a lot easier. Oliver steered the model over toward the bleachers, still a good couple hundred feet away himself. The fact that the young man appeared to be looking skyward made this even better. Oliver made his first fly by from a height of about seven or eight feet above the bleachers. Then turned the plane around, opting to aim it lower this time. This time, the device soared only a few feet above the other boy's head, then began to make circles around where he lay. Oliver watched from where he stood, a grin on his face, wondering how the other young man might react. Word count: 612 To: Felix/Chaos Notes: I really thought this would be shorter than this at first. XD
