It's been too long since she had been down on Main Street, especially with how long she been back in Riverdale living at her brother's ranch (which she been there for quite a few months), but this was the first time ever since she been here on Main Street and it was a very beautiful place. It was a great sight of beauty after so long she was coop up at the ranch. Not that she didn't enjoy the freedom and relaxation of riding and grooming horses, feeding the chickens, or caring for the cattle, but after the long road to recovery with her ailment it seem like a good time to go public, especially with her starting school next week. She still didn't like the feeling of being different than before she went to South Africa, but you couldn't really see her troubles on the surface unless you count the scarring on her person and the occasion glimpse of wariness (that wasn't there before) in her eyes; to really view and analyze the apparent troubles of her being which were saturated within her, you need to look deeper. By the time she told her mother about her plans to go into town to familiar herself again with the old neighborhoods of Riverdale, her mom inform her that her old friend, Marcus Simmons, was coming to pick her up and be her guide, but eventhough she told her that she didn't think the town change that much and she could take care of herself, she was forcibly disagreed upon and her mom said to have fun with Marcus. She shouldn't had bother since she knew her mother and the expression on her face that should explain away any arguments. It had been the same expression when her mom was on the phone with Mark the day before, which Cilla should had known it was about showing her around town. Her mom was like that and all, and once you see or hear it you shouldn't try to argue with her. How she knew his cellular phone number was beyond her, it doesn't seem logic for him to have the same phone type when he was in middle school as he does in high school, so she didn't know his number at all yet still have the old one since they dated before she move away. Here she was at the main ranch house, waiting on Mark to show up and wondering if Chelsea was going to come with them. When he show up, he's going to ask her lots of questions and all. She prayed her mom didn't told him about the whole sophomore held-back since when he did find out he would tease her about it. Not if he knew exactly why, but for now it was going to be because she had mono then pneumonia and she needed to make-up time. Not bad, at all, she thought as she waited. When Mark first received the phone call from Mrs. Rossen, he was surprised...and then annoyed at the way she'd practically forced him into it. He couldn't very well back out if Cilla was already expecting him, and thus he had to go along with it. That much said, though, he realized he didn't entirely mind seeing Cilla's face again. The falling out with Evie was fresh in Mark's mind, and he didn't see the two of them making up any time soon. Why would he want to make up with her in the first place? He'd swept her off her feet when she was down during prom the year before, making her night one to remember in a good way rather than the terrible night that a couple of jerks who stuck a note in her locker wanted it to be. He still wasn't all that angry at Raven. The guy was an ass, and Mark didn't like him all that much, but it was Evie who'd taken the fall. She was the one in a relationship. Well, not anymore. He and Priscilla Rossen had a past. Growing up as neighbors, Chelsea and Cilla had always been closer, but during middle school, Mark and Cilla dated for a while. On one hand, it was middle school. Neither of them were reincarnates, so it wasn't as though they were advanced in any way for their age either. It was a relationship between two people who were barely in their adolescence. On the other hand? Fresh out of a relationship with Evie, and quite upset, he found himself wanting to bounce back into the game. He and Cilla had a history, and he was tempted to try to rekindle it. He was surprised that Chelsea hadn't asked to come along for this meeting, but she'd responded that she'd already met Cilla out at their ranch on one occasion. Plus, she had an RSOR meeting. Not that Mark minded. It was probably better if he and Cilla were alone anyway, if they were going to do any sort of catching up. Mark pulled up at the ranch, spotting Cilla almost immediately and smiling at what he saw. She'd changed a bit over the past few years - And in his opinion, it was for the better. He climbed out and approached her, still checking her out as he did so. He still had relatively few details on the situation, but he figured she'd tell him all of that in time. "Hey Cilla. Enjoying your time back in Riverdale so far? I hear Chelsea already made a visit out here. Too bad she didn't invite me." While Mark was tempted to give Cilla a kiss on the cheek, even he recognized that this might be going a bit too far - and he didn't know how Cilla felt about their past. "Nice place." He added, looking around. Word count: 494 To: Leah/Cilla Notes: Yup

On the one hand, she was a bit annoyed and pissed at her mom at planning her day with Mark while on the other hand, she was actually looking follow to seeing him again. She was pleased with the idea of seeing how he change and if he still was as handsome as she remembered him, but she was quite nervous. She hadn't worried about strangers seeing her and questioning about such things like her awkward behavior when somebody goes close to her or the scars she tried to hide. She was glad to think of putting on the medical cream that's suppose to lighten the lines and marks of the scarring and graphed skin. She wasn't ready for anybody who had been close to see them yet Chelsea did when she surprise her by showing up on the ranch nearby the stables. It had been awkward telling her friend about the scars and then the suppose story of illness. Of course, it was more exasperating and embarrassing when she told her about her held back status. They had laugh about it and joked about how Mark would react to this news, but on the whole if he was a jerk deep within she would be crying at his cruel reaction to it though he wouldn't know about the whole why she was in sophomore instead of with his own grade group. She just had to kept on a brave face and laugh it out while dying deep within herself. Cilla wondered if Chels told him about her scarring or her illness, and knew that the topic of what grade she was in wouldn't arrive in it until she told him. She had made her friend promise not to tell him about that subject until she was ready. He would eventually find out about it when she started school, but she would inform him soon. She didn't want any accusations with them when they just saw each other again. When Mark pulled up and gotten out, she smiled happily and there was the old glow she had when they were dating. She did indeed still liked him, but she didn't want to rush in; half because it didn't seem appropriate to hug him after all it's been a couple of years and who knows if he was dating somebody else, and the other half because she was nervous about what he would say about her hands. "Hi Mark, it's been great. I missed this place though we now live on Raoul's ranch instead of by you, but it's beautiful here," she smiled, talking about her brother and his ranch, and chuckled at the next part. "Yes, she was. She met Starshine, my mare, and FallingOutBoy, Glitter, Morpheus, and Dot Mia, her company," she explained, and shrugged slightly, "I was wondering where you are." She stood there, leaning against one of the support pillars of the building she was near. "Matt and Greg really love to play here," she beamed at her twin nephews. As far as Cilla's illness and scars were concerned, Chelsea hadn't let slip anything to Mark yet. She hadn't given him that many details period, just letting him know that she'd seen their old friend and giving him a few hints on how to best get out to the countryside to see them. Mrs. Rossen had given directions, but Mark had to admit that Chelsea's were better. When Mark saw Cilla smiling at him, he couldn't help but smile in return. He wasn't going to jump to any conclusions just yet, but he did notice a few similarities between this smile and the smile she used to flash him when the two of them were dating in middle school. It could just be that she regarded him as a good friend and was happy to see him again. Or? She could have been thinking along the same lines as he was. It was hard to tell at this point, and Mark wasn't about to ask her straight off. He had his pride, after all. Mark nodded when Cilla informed him that they lived on her brother's ranch now. "That's what Chelsea told me." Mark admitted, but then he added something else. "We don't stay at home during the school year anyway. We're boarding at the high school. Jill and Will were happy to get our bigger rooms." The Simmons family had four children within six years of each other. Needless to say, the Simmons family didn't necessarily mind that their two oldest children decided to board, especially when Mr. Simmons was often out of the house due to work. He didn't realize that informing Cilla that they were boarding might make her feel awkward, seeing as she couldn't board if she wanted to continue hiding what happened to her. How was he supposed to know? He was just trying to make conversation. "Matt and Greg are here too? Damn, the last time I saw them they were barely walking." Now he figured that they had to be around Jill and Will's age the last time Cilla saw them. He wondered if she'd seen them around town yet, but then figured that his mother would probably stop by to visit and bring the twins. Chelsea and Mark could travel around town on their own, being teenagers, but the twins were still a little young for that. "So what exactly does your mom want me to do again? Show you around?" Though he still wasn't a big fan of being forced into this by parental units, he did have to admit that he and Cilla could use this to their advantage. It was the perfect chance to do a little catching up... Word count: 472 To: Leah/Cilla Notes: =P

It was clear as crystal glass that Mark didn't know, so it was well within sight and hearing that Chels didn't reveal about the situation about illness or which grade she was in. She was glad for this fact on the topic at hand for she didn't want this divided attention or him asking humiliating question or worse figuring out the truth of the matter. Not that she wouldn't tell or trust him, but she needed the time to just relax and be normal (or as normal as she can). She couldn't allow her old friends knowing yet. She didn't need totally strangers figuring out, but that didn't mean when he said Chelsea and himself were boarding at the high school that she wouldn't feel like an outsider of her own former self or not be hurt by his words. He didn't know that it hurt her when he talk casually about living on campus. He didn't know that at this very minute her inner organs scramble with burning twirls of pain and her heart feel like it was sicken with grief like melted cheese, but in a very surreal matter. She couldn't describe exactly how it felt, but that was what she visualizing when she felt the agony. It was abnormal yet that was her sensation on the subject he unknowingly cause her to feel like being born in the wrong body which in a way she did after what happen to her with her ailment. How would you feel if you couldn't go to board in the school you wanted because you didn't want the embarrassment that would follow by your scars and how they truly transpire, but your old friend was? How are you going to feel? Because she was very much in pain with the knowledge of this. It was a desperation. As for the whole being smiled back at, she felt a rush of radiance and adrenaline flowing in her blood and she felt she adduce the feeling she still like him a lot. She didn't think she had adequate proof if he still feels the same except for the happiness he flash at her by greeting and now the returned grin he now gave her. She didn't want to seem too enthusing or too despair or too little emotion about it, so she act calm and collective at this moment, but dhe excalted at hearing about her beloved nephews, and for Mark being here though she wasn't going to point that latter fact to him. It was a joy for her because of him yet iy was complicilating to say the less, but she put that aside to the dilemma at hand: seems Mark is getting senile. Cilla nodded when he was pointing out that Chelsea had inform him where she was living and she commented that 'Chels gave you better directions', knowing how her mom was. She just murmured an agreement about 'Jill and Will should be thrill' with a short laugh since it still bites hearing about him actually sleeping in the school. She really chuckled loudly at Mark forgetting who fathered the twins. "Seeing that their father owns the ranch, they would be here too," she mocked in a serious tone, but soon broke down laughing until tears leak in merriment. She stopped and tilted her head at him. "That's the plan. Sorry about her doing this to you, but you already know how she gets. Thank you," she added solemnly, truly glad to see him. Words: 602 Tags: Mark Simmons Notes: Poor girl. It was likely for the best that Mark didn't know at this point. It could gradually be revealed in time, but they had plenty of other subjects to catch up on. Priscilla needed time to adjust to everything before she revealed such a bombshell to two of her childhood friends - one being her ex-boyfriend. Of course, Mark didn't realize that sharing a small snippet of information about where he and Chelsea stayed during nine months out of the year would have such an impact on Priscilla, who could not do such a thing in her condition. Or, rather, she could, but had to risk enduring all sorts of questions that she likely did not feel comfortable answering at this point. Mark didn't have to worry about that. He did have to deal with the peculiarity of having a girl in his dorm for some odd reason, but...that one he opted not to ask questions about. Mark blushed a little as Cilla started to laugh at him. He didn't much like being laughed at when he didn't do something to intentionally bring it on, but he smiled nonetheless. "Well, I haven't seen you or your family for a few years now." He stated in his defense. As he'd said before, the twins were barely walking at that point (the Rossen twins, not the Simmons twins, who were in elementary school at that point). "Are you dorming at the school or staying out here?" Mark might have been eying Priscilla interestedly, and he did notice that she seemed a bit uncomfortable, but Mark had no idea that it had anything to do with him rooming at the school. If anything, Mark simply attributed it to Priscilla feeling a little shy after seeing him for so long. Priscilla was usually fairly outgoing, so this was a little odd, but hey, it had been a few years... Mark shrugged. "It's alright. I'm sure my mom had a part in it too. They probably plotted out this whole thing behind our backs." The junior rolled his eyes but looked amused nonetheless. "Besides, I don't mind. It's been a while since I've had the chance to hang out with you, and I can't say I mind the opportunity. You want to grab a bite to eat or something?" He left the invitation ambiguous on purpose. He was trying to ask her out on a date, yet he still had wiggle room if she simply wanted to go as friends. He needed that to protect his pride. There was an undeniable undertone of flirting in his voice, especially at the last few words. Mark had no problem letting a girl know when he was interested in them, but he also knew not to come forward with it right away. He had to tease her before he did that.
