Oliver still had mixed feelings about going out to a small airfield just outside of Riverdale to check out flying lessons. Did he really need flying lessons? When it came to modern aircraft, he did, and he knew he did, but that didn't make this whole experience less...awkward. It made him feel only marginally better that he was going with Nate to check it out. At least Nate was old enough to earn his pilot's license at 17, as was Fred. Oliver wouldn't even be able to fly solo until he turned 16, a fact that left a bitter taste in Oliver's mouth. Again, he understood why, and he also realized that reincarnation was not taken into account. There was no way anyone outside of RSOR realized just how absurd it was to make the guy who made the first flight wait until he was sixteen in this life to even fly solo. Or, at least, legally. It wasn't like anyone outside of RSOR (other than Erika Martens) knew who he was anyway. Even so, Oliver figured it would be best to start early. If he started now, he could get his pilot's license by the time he was 17 himself, which was what he was aiming for. Oliver and Nate chatted occasionally about the oddness of this entire experience on their trip out to the countryside, though the conversation became more muted as they approached the actual field itself. By the time they parked, Oliver looked over at Nate with an expression that could be described as a mixture of excitement and amusement. Excitement owing to the fact that this was the closest he'd been to a non-commercial jet in this life, and amusement at the entire situation! It was a good thing he could laugh, really, otherwise he'd probably be quite annoyed by the restrictions that were being placed. "So, Will, should we check this place out?" Oliver asked with a grin before opening the passenger side door. It wasn't just for Oliver and his past brother- He was checking it out for Fred, and Cindy, and all of the RSOR aviators really. The discovery that there were lessons offered just a couple of miles outside of Riverdale was a wonderful one, and he was happy to be making yet another venture with his brother. The original goal was to head up to the main building to ask a few questions. How much lessons cost, how long they were for, when the best time to schedule classes would be - but let's face it - Oliver was surrounded by aircraft. It didn't take long for sensory overload to take over and for Oliver to be distracted from his original purpose. He found himself a few feet away from a man who was making repairs on a Cessna. The freshman watched in curiosity as the worker did his thing, keeping his silence and merely observed until he noticed the worker fumbling to do his next task. Recognizing the problem and how to solve it, Oliver hastened to step forward at once. "Why don't you try doing this?" Oliver grabbed the wrench from the stunned repairman's hand and performed a few quick actions of his own, all the while making various comments comparing the parts on a Cessna to parts on a vintage aircraft. By the time he was done, he looked back at the repairman with a smile. "Let me guess, that part was giving you trouble, right?" The man gave a wide-eyed nod. "Well, that should fix it up quite nicely. Used to have that problem all the time..." Oliver simply shrugged and smiled and handed the tools he used back to the man, before walking off as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. Until he remembered that he was a fifteen year old freshman in high school and looked nothing like his past self. He paused for a moment and bit down on his lip, going a few shades paler. "This is going to be a long and interesting day, I have a feeling." He admitted with a sheepish smile. "Now, where's the office?" Well, he was trying to get back on track at least. For Nate, it was always nice spending the afternoon with his best friend and past brother. Put airplanes into the equation and Nate was practically giddy. Oliver had recently found an airfield only a few miles outside of Riverdale that was offering flying lessons. It was enough information for the two boys to decide to head there at the first chance to gather more information on how much it would cost and what sort of things the lessons actually consisted of. After all Nate and Oliver were the reasons for these flying lessons even being available in the first place - ideally the theory was there. The pair had spent countless hours pouring over books and figuring out exactly how modern airplanes worked. It was a bit more difficult though in actually flying one of these planes. Perhaps they would not need as many lessons on the theory side. Honestly Nate was just itching for the chance to be able to soar the skies again.
Seeing that it was a few miles out of Riverdale, Nate had volunteered his car services for the journey. It only took about twenty minutes to drive the distance - enough time for them to share conversation and feed of one anothers excitement. By the time they arrived Nate was postively grinning from ear to ear. Even from the parking lot they could see small aircrafts dotted about, could hear the noise of engines and smell the faint odour of gasoline. Nate gave a grin to Oliver as he enquired whether to check the place out. "Of course! After you Orville." He waited a couple of seconds for his past brother to remove his seatbelt and get out of the car before doing the same and making sure that his car doors were locked.
It was apparently a short walk to the main building according to a sign that was pointing in the direction. Checking his watch on his wrist, Nate figured that after asking for more details at the reception, he and Oliver could do a bit of exploring. There was plenty of time after all and Nate had told Cindy that he wouldn't see her until at least the evening, giving him and Orville plenty of time to look around. He had barely opened his mouth to suggest this idea to Oliver however, when he saw Oliver wandering over to a man seemingly having trouble with a Cessna. Any other reincarnate and Nate would have been ushering Oliver along so that he wouldn't give any information away. However, being the co inventor of the airplane AND watching a man struggle with an airplane AND being with Oliver cause Nate to stop as well and watch with eagerness and seriousness planted on his face.
His hand raised to his chin as he watched his past brother work away, stroking it every now and then with small "Ah yes!"'s and "I see"'s escaping his mouth. He was so intrigued that he did not notice the poor man's look of confusion at a fifteen year old correcting him and repairing the craft for him. As Oliver worked Nate took to slowly circling the aircraft, his hand stroking the surface as he moved along slowly, inspecting every nook and cranny. "Good god, what a masterpiece!" He suddenly shouted out, his eyes shimmering slightly at what his and his brother's invention had been modernised. "Incredible. I've always admired the 180. Sleek to perfection." It was quite possible that he was about to be overcome by emotion so it was lucky that Oliver finished fixing up the plane when he did.
Nate nodded goodbye to the confused man before falling into a sidestep beside Oliver again. "I really must get myself one of those." He mused looking back over his shoulder at the beautiful craft. He chuckled at what Oliver said. Indeed it would be a very long day. "Well as long as we don't tell anybody who we actually are, I think it'll be okay." He grinned at this, although it would certainly be easier said than done. Nate pointed back to the sign he had seen. "A sign pointed in this direction so I'm assuming we just carry on this way." His feet continued to carry him to their destination, his head swivelling about so much trying to take in the planes that it probably looked like a scene from The Exorcist.

Well, Oliver knew that he was going to make a slip at some point. It was bound to happen, especially given the environment that he and Nate were currently in. Fortunately for them, Oliver hadn't exactly given much away that could be used to determine his true identity. All he'd done was show that he knew far more than the average fifteen year old on the subject. That was hardly holding up a sign that said 'I am Orville Wright' in big neon letters, now was it? It looked odd, but not so odd that it put RSOR in danger. Regardless, Oliver was going to try his best not to do something like that again during their visit. Oliver laughed at Nate's comment about the Cessna they left behind. "Hey, don't forget about me. Maybe if we pool money together we can buy one. Though I'd really rather make one myself..." There was that familiar itching in his fingers again. The urge to create. Why buy a plane when the two of them showed in the past that they were perfectly capable of making one of their own? More than one, in fact. Not just that, but that they were capable of doing the research and development portion as well. It was the same reason why Oliver had to laugh at Fred's suggestion that she needed to save up to buy an airplane in this life several months before. "I don't think either of us need to worry about outright telling anyone here who we are. The problem is little slip-ups like the one I just made back there." And Oliver knew better than to assume that would be the last one during their trip to the airfield. They were masters in this field, and they had to pretend that they were ordinary high school students seeking out flying lessons. To say it would be difficult to keep their full knowledge on the down low was an understatement. He nodded when Nate pointed out the sign directing them to the offices and continued off in that direction... ...for about thirty seconds. At this point, he veered off course once more. He soon found himself standing beside another aircraft, eying it much in the same way Nate eyed the Cessna 180. It was not in Oliver's nature to simply eye something that intrigued him, however. At this point, a man who clearly worked at the facility greeted the two. "Hello! You must be Oliver Winchester and Nathan Driscoll, our newest aspiring pilots! It is my understanding that you wanted to check out our facility for...what are you doing over there, young man?""Oh...I was just admiring the handiwork on this beautiful craft. We've come a long way, haven't we?" Oliver intoned with a hint of awe, more toward Nate than toward the worker. He hid the wrench and screwdriver he was about to start poking and prodding with behind his back. The man looked at him with a raised eyebrow and then shrugged, turning his attention back to the job at hand. "So, as I was saying, we hope you will choose our facility for your learning experience. Are there any questions that you have before we begin our tour?"Oliver looked over at Nate with wide eyes. So they were going to be taken on a tour? This was not necessarily a bad thing (in fact, it was quite exciting!), but Oliver could see trouble from a mile away. Being taken on a tour meant that they would be stuck with this guy for most of the visit. This meant more chances for them to slip up in front of one single person. Oliver couldn't very well protest this arrangement, but the worry was still there. He shook his head, then looked over at Nate, letting him take the floor if he so chose to. It was a well known fact that in such situations, Oliver usually let Nate handle most of the talking. He didn't plan on not talking at all, but Nate usually maintained a calmer head under pressure. That said, with the awkward nature of the situation...would even Nate be able to handle this? They would just have to see as they went along. Word count: 720 To: Nate/Ali Notes: This is awesome! XD

At Oliver's suggestion of building their own Cessna, Nate quickly turned to look at him with a look of manic glee on his face. It was a pretty epic idea - what could be more perfect than not only flying they're own Cessna, but flying one that they had the excitement of building from scratch? "Bubs that's a great idea! We should go and have a look for parts next weekend and start deciding what we'll need to have the go ahead with building one up." Nate was too excited to even start thinking about how much a job like this would cost, especially for two teenage boys who were in boarding school. Sure they were the Wright brothers who knew absolutely EVERYTHING there was to know about planes, but people apart from the others in RSOR didn't know this, thus they probably wouldn't be taken seriously if say...they went to the bank and asked for a loan to do it.
Oliver definitely had a point at what he was saying next. Nate was rather careful when it came to the truth of their identities - sure slip ups had been made in the past but Nate had learnt from these and was now a lot more careful around anyone who wasn't a known reincarnate (apart from Erika Martens who was a normal but knew the truth of RSOR). They wern't stupid enough to go around telling the people at the airfield that they were Orville and Wilbur reincarnated but surrounded by planes was definitely asking for a bit of trouble. Nate nodded, quite serious for a minute. "That's true. We just need to remember why exactly were here...we'll have plenty of time to have a proper look around when we come back to take the actual lessons." There was a sound of amusement in Nate's voice as he mentioned the lessons...the Wright brothers needing flying lessons?!
Nate didn't realise as he was talking that Oliver had wandered of again to admire another airplane. As he finished what he was saying he looked back to where Oliver had been beside him to hear of his opinion to find that he was pretty much chattering away to himself. He spotted Oliver admiring another aircraft and wandered over to, rubbing the nose of the plane with his hand. "She's a beauty all right...ugh!" He had noticed a spot of dirt on the white surface. These planes deserved to be spotless! It bugged him immensely...enough that he spotted some cleaning supplies by the aircraft next to this one and quickly walked over, picked them up and bought them back. He then went on to cleaning the dirt spot enthusiastically until the surface was gleaming.
He was admiring the shine when a voice directed at them made him turn his head in the direction. A man who worked at the airfield was welcoming them and seemed distracted in his speech at the two being near one of the aircrafts. Nate let Oliver answer this - he was the one with the screwdriver and wrench after all. All Nate was holding was a special cleaning product and a wipe. At Oliver's statement to the man Nate smiled, his eyes beginning to shimmer again. These planes were here because of him and Oliver!"We really have...its amazing how technology has progressed. I'm so impressed!" Nate suddenly remembered about the man and looked back at him with a big smile on his face. "It's such an honour to be here today, sir!" Nate quickly bounded forward, the cleaning products laying abandoned and grabbed the mans hand with both of his shaking enthusiastically.
A tour! Uh oh - he let the man's hand drop suddenly realising that he was still clutching onto it, a big grin on his face. A tour sounded rather exciting and Nate was hoping that the tour included looking more in depth at the planes. He excitedly wondered if they would be able to sit in them at the very least (giving them an opportunity to do a bit of tinkering and examing). The man asked if they had any questions. Nate was better at this but the excitement of being here made his questions come out in a hurry, all at once. "How much are lessons? Do we pay in advance or at each lesson? What sort of things are we taught? How long before we get to fly ourselves? Can we pick what plane we want to fly? Can we buy one?!" Nate suddenly took a huge intake of breathe. The speed of questions released from his mouth had definitely knocked the wind out of him slightly. He waited, bobbing up and down on his feet itching to go as he waited for the man to answer the first questions that had popped into his head. he was pretty sure that there would definitely be more during the tour.

Oliver laughed with relish. "I think that building our own Cessna in view of all of Riverdale is going to land us in more hot water than we would like." Just because they could build a plane to get to and from school didn't mean that they couldn't work their magic at all. The summer was fast approaching! "We can get parts for our summer project over the weekend, though. Many of the larger parts we'll probably have to get over in London, but we can stock up on a few smaller items while we're still in Riverdale! We could also perform a few smaller scale tests so that we have a better idea of what we want to do when we arrive at Fred's?" Oliver's tone grew more excited as he spoke. He wanted the summer to come as soon as possible! In the mean time, though, why not make the best of their down time and use it for some planning? Oliver nodded at Nate's next words. This was going to be a challenge, especially as he caught Nate grinning at the absurdity of the two of them taking flying lessons. He returned a similar looking grin. He had to bite his lip to keep from laughing when Nate responded that he was impressed with the improvements. Oliver was impressed too, but it was hard not to note the tone that Nate spoke with. It wasn't like a seventeen year old commenting on how 'cool' a plane looked. It was like a teacher remarking that he was impressed with a student! The ensuing snort that Oliver let loose caused the worker to look at Oliver with a raised eyebrow. Oliver plastered an unassuming expression on his face, until the man looked back at Nate. Then Oliver started grinning like the Cheshire Cat once more. He felt like a five year old on Christmas morning! The worker, on the other hand, had to pause for a moment to process every question that Nate threw at him. "The price for lessons will depend on how quickly you'd like to earn your license, and which plane you'd like to train in. You will pay a deposit in advance, but if you need, we can set up a payment plan to cover all of the costs. We'll go into more detail with that when we sit down to set up your plan. You are taught all of the necessary requirements needed to earn your private pilot's license. Yes, you may choose, although we have a limited number of training planes. You...what?" Nate's last question clearly gave him pause as he realized just what Nate was asking, but he took it in stride. "While none of our planes are for sale, I'm sure you could buy one of your own. They're quite expensive, though. I'd estimate most places you go, they'd cost you at least $20,000 if not more."Oliver blanched at this. "$20,000?! At that cost, we'd be better off..." Oliver trailed off at this point, before finishing quietly with "I think we'd be better off waiting to buy one." One quick glance over at Nate when the worker's back was turned showed that Oliver was going to originally say something else entirely. Whether Nate would actually sense 'we'd be better off building our own' in the trailing off or not remained to be seen. Fortunately, the worker himself appeared none the wiser. Instead, he looked between the two young men. "Any more questions before we begin?"Oliver had his hands in his pockets out of nervousness, though he did feel tempted to ask one more simple question before they went on, just to see how much had changed. "How do the controls work in terms of the three axes of control?" The look the man shot Oliver could only be described as bewildered. Oliver tried another approach. "How do the controls correspond to control of pitch, roll, and yaw in the craft?" If anything, the worker looked even more puzzled now. Oliver's small smile turned into a frown as he noticed the worker's confusion. He first averted his gaze downward, then over at Nate imploringly. He'd just meant to ask a simple question! Then again, what was simple for Oliver and Nate when it came to this field wasn't simple for most, admittedly. Nate pondered what Oliver was saying for a few moments before speaking again. "It's still tempting though! Its a shame we don't have a place to hide it and know for sure that no one would ever come across it by accident." By 'know one' he especially meant the members of anti RSOR - they would have a field day if they found two high school students who were a part of RSOR building an airplane by scratch. Oh well - summer was on its way and they were sure to mess about with parts during it without worrying as much. Nate thought for a few more seconds what Oliver had said and then tacked onto the end - "I wonder where the saying 'hot water' came from? What if it's actually cold water?" He smiled a bit, letting his thought trail of for a second.
Just as Oliver grew more excited as he spoke about their upcoming London trip to Fred's, Nate had the same feeling of excitement building just by thinking about it. Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright and Amelia Earhart all working on a plane together? This was going to be a lot of fun! And seeing London would be fun too...but the plane was more at the top of Nate's to do list. And he was pretty sure that Oliver would feed the same. Although saying that they probably would do a bit of sightseeing at some point just so they didn't arouse too much suspicion on what they were actually up to. "We should also take my car and go on a small road trip one of these weekends so we can go to a bigger place to get parts. We could bring Fred and Cindy along for it too...although I hope Cindy doesn't freak out too much." He frowned a little. He hoped that he would be able to talk his girlfriend into at least coming down to the airfield and watching but he was pretty sure that that was going to be a bit of a challenge.
Nate was still staring fondly at the planes when he heard Oliver let out a snort of amusement. The bemused look on the workers face - and from his name badge Nate learnt that his name was Barney - made Nate want to laugh too but he was pretty sure Barney was thinking that the two boys were slightly unhinged with the way they were acting. So he twisted his mouth to stop it from turning into a laugh and was pretty sure that two of his ribs had cracked from surpressing a laugh. Barney didn't seem to think much more of their weird behaviour as he paused (although he gave an odd look at the amount of questions Nate suddenly threw at him) before starting to answer. The information coming from Barney impressed Nate a lot - after all his questioning had been extremely fast paced.
He hung onto every word, making sure to store each answer they were given to a bit of his long term memory to pull back later when they discussed stuff when they got back to Riverdale. The fact that buying a plane would cost at least $20,000 didn't shock Nate as much as it did Oliver - after all he was expecting a hefty price. But still - and he definitely caught on to what Oliver was about to say by the look he gave him - it was A LOT especially for two teenagers and so it would probably work out better for them to build their own. After all it meant more fun for the both of them!
Nate had taken to looking at a craft standing behind Barney as Oliver asked another question. He understood what he meant straightaway but it amused him that Barney didn't seem to have a clue what Oliver was going on about. As he was standing around he realised that he was at a quite perfect opportunity to have a bit of fun of his own. He knew Oliver well enough to know that speaking in front of people he didn't know made him nervous. He was in the perfect position, standing behind Barney, that he could amuse Oliver enough to make him forget his nerves and just generally amuse him. As the worker gave Oliver a bewildered look, Nate suddenly copied the look on Barney-s face but adding his own defining features - a slack mouth, crossed eyes and a vacant look. Barney looked about causing Nate to return to his usual self before Oliver asked the same question in more simple aerodynamics language. When the worker had turned his attention back to Oliver Nate again suddenly moved his head close to Barney pulling random faces only to shoots back and look normal when Barney seemed to sense someone close behind him.
He realised the attention was back on him and Nate blinked for a second before deciding to just ask the question in the simplest terms he could think off. After all he could tell the worker was struggling understanding what Oliver meant and although he most definitely had a pilots license and pleny of qualifications...well he still wasn't a Wright brother. "How are the planes built to control the up and down and side to side movements of the craft, as well as the tilting of the wings?" He smiled a little before suddenly noticing a bit of grease on Barney's arm. He really shouldn't...but it was bugging him like hell. What if the grease went onto one of these beauties?! Before he could stop himself he picked up the cleaning spray suddenly squirting it on Barney's arm and with a cloth quickly wiped the grease away. He once again discharged of the products before giving Barney a big smile. "Just in case it marks a plane!" He figured the worker wouldn't really understand, but it was important to Nate that these crafts were taken care off 24/7.

Oliver nodded. "We did have a place like that, but it's a tourist attraction now." He chuckled and shook his head. That in itself was bittersweet. It was hard not to feel a bit prideful of their accomplishments, knowing that the very places they'd trekked to a century before, back when the town consisted of less than 100 people, were now tourist attractions. At the same time? It meant that they were hard pressed to find an area to work on large scale experiments in this life in peace. Their dorm and the attic worked fine for small scale, but they were known for larger scale projects, which were next to impossible to tackle in such small quarters. He raised an eyebrow a bit at Nate's next question. "You know...that's a good question." He commented, before laughing a little. Both were equally uncomfortable to be in, after all. Oliver grinned from ear to ear. "That would be great!" Then his grin slipped a little. "We can't get anything too big, though. We won't be able to fly it over to London. What we pack has to be able to fit in our luggage." Oliver stated this in a somewhat dejected tone. He wouldn't mind getting every single part before they even headed over to London, but he also realized that actually transporting the materials would pose a problem. Oliver vented his frustration on a small rock that happened to be in his path, watching as it skipped across the pavement for a few feet before coming to a stop. He still wanted to go on that trip, mind - he just wanted to remind Nate (and himself) that they couldn't go too crazy while they were still in North Carolina. "Though," Oliver added with another small grin, "we don't just have to pick up supplies for London." They did have a hang glider they were messing with crammed into a closet in their dorm, after all... It didn't take long for Oliver to realize that he'd overstepped himself a bit with the question he asked. He thought it was simple, but apparently it went over this man's head! Oliver wasn't sure whether to take that as a sign that he'd slipped up (which was actually the case)...or if they should find another place to train. The wide-eyed, worried look on his face was soon replaced with a smile when he saw what Nate was doing behind Barney's back. The worker looked back at Nate periodically as Oliver smiled, but as Nate resumed a straight face in near perfect timing, it was clear that Barney was none the wiser about what Nate was doing directly behind him. Of course, when Barney's gaze was back on Oliver Nate started to make faces again, resulting in another grin breaking out on Oliver's face just in time for Barney to look back at Nate for clarification. Now it was Oliver's turn. Oliver grinned mischievously as he stepped behind Barney. While Oliver was relatively tall for his age (hence Isa calling him by the nickname 'ganglylimbs'), he was still only 5'6", whereas Barney looked closer to around 6 feet tall. Therefore, Oliver was able to situate himself so that he was completely hidden behind Barney, eclipsed from Nate's view. Then he extended his arms like wings behind Barney. "How are the planes built to control the up and down and side to side movements of the craft..." At this, Oliver began to flap his arms up and down gently, as if he were a bird. All the while, he laughed under his breath. "...as well as the tilting of the wings?" At this, Oliver tilted his arms back and forth as if to illustrate the point. It might have been the look on Nate's face, or it might have been that one of Oliver's laughs was a bit too loud. Whatever the reason, Barney spun back around to look at Oliver again, but once again was too late. Oliver had a small, expectant smile on his face and his hands in his pockets, as if he was still waiting for an answer to his question. And, well, he was - He'd just decided to entertain his brother in return while he waited. Barney looked slightly harassed, but decided to go on as normal. "Well, the up and down movement is controlled by the stick, side to side movement by the rudder pedals, and moving the wings is controlled by the yoke. Is, uh, that what you're looking for?"Oliver smiled. "Sure is! Thanks for your help, sir!" Now he was able to pull off the curious fifteen year old look well, but given what he'd already slipped up with, Barney was looking at him with an even more curious expression now. There weren't many fifteen year olds who knew terminology like this...terminology that even Barney himself had only heard a few times. Then again, he flew planes. He didn't build them. Oliver and Nate? Well, they were the reason Barney even had a job! Speaking of, it appeared as though Barney was finally beginning the tour now that Oliver and Nate were finished bombarding him with questions. The reprieve was likely only temporary, but Barney was taking advantage of it. He didn't want to get in trouble with his boss, after all. The group stopped near a plane, another Cessna, though this one more recent (and more shiny). "This is a 2002 Cessna T182T. As it is a newer model, lessons in this plane are at a higher end price. You may take a look at it, if you'd like."Probably not the smartest thing to say to the Wright brothers reincarnated, but Barney remained blissfully unaware of this tidbit. Therefore, he opened up that can of worms, and Oliver approached the aircraft with a large grin on his face, tilting his head occasionally as he looked over the features. He looked under the plane, at the wings of the plane, and even through the windows, at which point he beckoned Nate over. "Will, come look at the cockpit!" Excited at the prospect of seeing a 21st century cockpit, and busy comparing it mentally to the controls on their early aircraft, Oliver didn't even realize he'd called his brother by his past name. Not yet, at least. Word count: 1109 To: Nate/Ali Notes: I knew this would be long...I just didn't know it would be THIS long. XD

Hearing Oliver talk mention a tourist attraction Nate couldn't help his eyes light up at an idea that suddenly popped into his head. They wasn't THAT far from Kitty Hawk and the location of their first flight, Kill Devil Hills. Sure it would take a little bit of time getting there but wouldn't it be so worth it in the end? Just to see how the small town had ended up over a hundred years later? "You know, we should take a road trip there sometime to see how it is these days. The Wright Brother's return to Kitty Hawk!" As he said his last words he let his arm shoot out in front of him moving from the left to the right, following the horizon with his hand. It was supposed to be dramatic but he probably just looked quite silly and realising this he let his arm drop back to his side. He liked the idea though and he hoped that Oliver would dig it. of course he could take a trip on his but it just wouldn't be the same.
Nate suddenly grinned at Oliver's reasoning. He was pretty sure that at some point one of them was going to have to talk the other into walking out of the store if they were getting a bit too carried away. "Well we could get small parts for the engine and of course we need to make sure that we have the basics...nuts and bolts for example. Perhaps we could even buy some new tools as its going to be a pretty big job. Although would it be worth it? Fred will no doubt have plenty of tools at hers." He looked over at Oliver seeing what he would think on what to buy. After all if they were both going to pool their money together they both needed to one hundred per cent agree on what they were going to purchase.
Nate again grinned. This trip to London was going to be so much fun! There was so much they could do and they could even start on another side project aside from building up a plane and involve Amelia in it. He had a pretty funny feeling though that aside from fun, this trip was going to be expensive. It was probably wise to start saving their money now, just to be sure that they would have enough to enjoy themselves fully.
Nate was having too much fun pulling faces at Barney to worry too much about Oliver's slip up. It wasn't as if Barney would be able to work out who they truly were by this one question. He probably thought that the two boys were extremely enthusiastic and had done heaps of research before coming along to the air field. This was kind of true...except for the fact that they needed to do any research at all. Hopefully they wouldn't have any slip ups now...if they played it cool and let Barney explain things to them that they already knew about and more then things would be alright.
Nate forgot his trail of thoughts when a flapping movement caught his attention. He looked to the source and saw that Barney was now looking at him, suspicious that they were up to something. Oliver was now standing behind him and flapping his arms...and even better he was making airplane movements in time to his question. Nate thought that a few ribs had cracked trying to hold in the laughter that desperately wanted to come out and by the time he had reached the end of his question a few sniggers had managed to come out, seemingly being one of the factors of Barney spinning back around to Oliver. He finally gave a pretty reasonable answer but was still looking at Oliver in a rather curious way.
Yes he was having a good time goofing around with Oliver but even he could see that Barney was starting to ponder exactly why they were here and how they knew so much (and more than him) at such a young age. The heat needed to be taken off, enough for Barney to temporarily forget Oliver's slip up and time for Oliver to get back into his 'excited fifteen year old' role. Nate hurried up a little to Barney's side and fell into the same step, walking with him as Barney began their tour. "So I once knew a Barney. He was a funny fellow. Laughed at the most unfunniest things and tried to buy a monkey to keep as a pet. Not that your weird or anything sir! Barney's a good strong name!" He grinned at the poor tour guide hoping that he was at least comforted by having that name which was a good one in Nate's books. He was hoping that Nate divulging some random information was enough to take his suspicions of his brother and it seemed to work.
Barney started them off looking at a newer model of a Cessna. If the other Cessna before was pretty then this plane was even more pretty. Nate looked it over with a look of awe on his face as he approached the craft after his brother and started looking at the wings, running his hand across the cool surface. Oliver's voice made him look up - but not in shock at the name 'Will' slipping out. He was interested in the cockpit that Oliver had to show him. He made his way over quickly and peeked in before grinning. "Looks like your going to have some growing to do if you want to be able to reach all of those buttons, Orv." It was only when the name 'Orv' slipped out of his mouth that he suddenly remembered that Barney was standing right next to them and had just heard both of them refer to each other as the Wright Brothers. And it wasn't as if Barney wouldn't know who they were...
Oops! Nate looked at Oliver with a slightly panicked look before looking back to Barney who seemed very confused now and laughing. "Wow sometimes we get a bit carried away. We sometimes call each other the Wright Brothers because we love planes so much. Um...yeah... He trailed off quite pathetically before spotting another plane. "Look at this one!" Nate bounded forward to the craft standing beside it, waiting for Barney to follow along and give them some more information such as how much lessons would cost in this plane. This one was definitely right up his street.
