VALENTINA ASTORIA WESTMOUNT
"'Tis the last rose of summer left blooming alone
All her lovely companions are faded and gone
No flower of her kindred, no rosebud is nigh
To reflect back her blushes and give sigh for sigh..."

Scars: A small one right above her left knee, from a childhood accident.
Piercings/Tattoos: No tattoos, only ears are pierced.
Personal Style: For Valentina, looking stylish and trendy isn't important. Earthy tones and simple patterns fill her wardrobe, with tie-dyes supplementing that. Long, flowing skirts, loose-fitting shirts, and lovely dresses are her usual style, giving her a peaceful, mystical appearance. It'd be easy to think that she's dressed in costume as some kind of mythical faerie or elf, though it is just how she likes dressing. She loves odd jewelry, and frequently wears chunky, mismatched pieces, from earrings that aren't quite the same, to necklaces with multiple charms. Most of what she wears, jewelry wise, has some purpose, whether it's for divinity or healing purposes. Minor gem stones and crystals are frequently the centerpiece of them, and she can name all of the ones that she wears. (Tigers eye and rose quartz are her favorites, and the most likely to be worn.) Shoes for her tend to be simple as well, flats and moccasins being the majority of what she wears, with the occasional pair of heels being included as well.
Appearance: At five feet tall, even, and 100 pounds, small is a bit of an understatement. Valentina is tiny, though she hopes that she'll continue to grow. She's very pale, mostly because of her natural skin tone, but also because she refuses to use any artificial tanning devices, be they spray-ons or a tanning bed. She's very delicate looking, partially due to her small size, though her tendency to wear clothes that hide her figure don't help anything. It's very easy to mistake her for a few years older, at least when you're looking at her from behind, when you can only see her clothing and hair. If she was to turn around, and you'd see her face, the illusion of age would be broken.
Just like the rest of her body, Valentina's face is very delicate. She has well sculpted features, and looks almost like a little doll. Much to her irritation, her face retains much of it's childishly innocent qualities, so a single look at it speaks volumes of just how young she is. None the less, she smiles often, even if it's just a little quirk of the lips. It's rare to see an angry or upset look on her face, as joy and confusion tend to monopolize her expressions. Her hair lends to the happy look, as it tends to be either down and curling wildly, or straightened neatly. With it's shades ranging between an unapologetic copper and a quiet brown, the auburn color of her hair is only helped by lighting. The brighter the lights, the brighter the coppery red in her hair shines, and the dimmer the lights, the closer to a gentle brown it appears.
It's easy to say that she's lovely, though there are plenty of other words to describe her. Bony is one, and her brother uses it often, usually in a teasing fashion. Scrawny works as well, even if it annoys her to be described in such a fashion. However, getting much bigger, even if just by gaining a bit of weight, is nearly impossible. Valentina loves to swim, and much of the potential weight gain is lost through that. The rest of it fails due to her fast metabolism. She has a love/hate relationship with her metabolism, as she loves her ability to eat what she wants, though she wishes that she could gain just a bit more weight, so that she'd be a bit less bony.
HOPE AND HORROR
MIXED IN BLOOD
Likes: tarot, reiki, vegan foods, astrology, numerology, palm reading, clunky jewelry, healing charms and amulets, folk music, dancing, swimming, tea, and her big brother.
Dislikes: being called weird, her inability to gain any weight, being ignored, 'bad energy', meat, anger, confrontation, heavy metal music, guns, other people being in pain, and violence.
Dreams: Being accepted as normal by everyone else, and finally growing a few more inches and some curves.
Fears: Being outcast completely by her peers; anything happening to her brother; being too skinny that it makes her sick.
Habits/Hobbies: Bites her nails when she's nervous; carries a deck of tarot cards that she shuffles repeatedly when she has nothing else to do; studying various forms of divination; swimming to calm herself down when she's stressed out.
Secret(s): Valentina has always been interested in various spiritualities, and recently, Wicca has become one that really interests her, to the point where she's wanting to be Wiccan.
Personality: Describing Valentina Westmount is no easy task. She is a girl of contradictions and many sides, though when put all together, they form a fairly simple girl. By no means is she shy or quiet. In fact, one of the fastest ways to describe her is to say she's an extrovert. She thrives on other people, on their presence and communication with them. Her friendly nature is one of the driving forces behind her personality, and the reason why she surrounds herself with friends. While she may not be the most popular girl in the school, she is by no means lonely. There is always someone with her, as she hates being alone.
Other words, more negative ones, have been used to describe her as well. Crazy, loony, odd, weird, a freak, insane; She's heard them all, directed at her. It stings a bit, to be called those names, but she doesn't respond in kind. She firmly believes that when you do something to harm someone else, be it with words or actions, that harm comes back to you. No matter how much it upsets her to be treated badly by other students, she grins and bears it. Anger isn't an emotion she likes, and so she tries to avoid feeling it. Pain, though, is far more common, and at times, if she's been teased too much, and loved too little, she can be heard crying herself to sleep.
She readily admits that her moods can be a little volatile. Very easily she can go from sleepy and a little irritated, to happy and upbeat. Often, all it takes is a word or two. It also works in reverse, though, and a few words can easily hurt her, and lead her to be withdrawn and unhappy. If she's been teased and bullied too much, it's all too easy for her to slip into a withdrawn state, where she grows quiet and slightly moody. The best way to reverse a bad mood is through simple actions and words, reminding her that she is in fact loved and appreciated, and giving her a gentle hug. When she has become very close to someone, she'll occasionally go to them when she is hurting, and simply cling to them and cry until she feels more like herself.
Spirituality is a big deal for her as well. All her life, she has had an interest in it, from attempting to learn about Judaism and Hinduism as a child, to becoming interested in Buddhism and various Pagan religions as a teenager. As well as the interest in religions, she enjoys learning about alternative healing methods (like reiki) or homeopathic remedies. Divination is another thing she enjoys, and she can often be found with a deck of tarot cards, or a pendulum. This may be what leads to her classmates thinking she's odd, but that doesn't upset her. She likes it all far too much and for too long to change now, and doesn't want to change anyway.
PRETTY BOY, PRETTY GIRL

Mother: Charlotte Buchanan-Westmount, 40, housewife/socialite
Father: Damian Westmount, 41, CEO of a trading company
Siblings: Damian Westmount Jr., 16, student at Riverdale
Other: none
Pets: none
Hometown: Seattle, Washington
History: The union of Charlotte Buchanan and Damian Westmount wasn't one of love. As the only child of a shipping magnate, Charlotte's husband would have to be a man worthy of taking over the family business. The eldest son of the Westmount family, and son of another shipping magnate, it was decided that Damian would marry Charlotte. The two companies merged, and an even bigger, more powerful shipping company was formed. The marriage was completely arranged by their parents, and the young couple had no say in it. It was demanded of them to have at least one child, and so they did, naming him after his father. It was a surprise that just a little over a month after the birth of Damian Jr. that Charlotte was pregnant again. It was unclear if the couple had intentionally gotten pregnant again, or if it was an accident. To this day, neither of them will answer.
During the pregnancy with Damian Jr., the young couple had grown closer, and now had fond emotions for each other, if not love. The truth of the matter is that they did in fact mean to have sex the night Valentina was conceived, though her conception hadn't been planned. Despite the surprise, they weren't upset about having another child. And when Valentina was born after a grueling eight hour labor, on Valentine's Day, her name was easily decided. It had been Charlotte's idea, though Damian agreed. With Jr. now at about eleven months old, the family was a little hectic. None the less, they were fairly happy. The siblings were close, due to their proximity in age, and were best friends despite their differences. While Jr. was messy and augmentative, Valentina was clean and good natured without fail. They spent all their time together, and it was rare to see one without the other. Until Jr. started school, people thought they were fraternal twins, due to the close bond and age.
Jr. being at school all day was hard on Valentina. Her playmate was now gone, and for the first time in her life, she was left on her own. It changed when she started school, however, and was almost instantly popular. She played with everyone, no matter their gender. Quickly, though, she developed a dependency on other children, and hated being alone. It led to refusals to go anywhere on her own, and wailing when her requests for a companion were denied. It worried her parents, but they couldn't do anything about it. Life continued on in this manner, with temper tantrums from Valentina being few and far between, but explosive when they occurred.
Eventually, though, she mellowed. Her energy was channeled into a more productive activities, as she started taking swim lessons. Valentina discovered that she loved being in the water, and that when she swam, she could relax. It was the only place she could be alone and not freak out. By the time she was seven, she was one of the best swimmers in her age group. While she enjoyed swimming, there was one other thing, out of the water, that she could do on her own: researching religions. They fascinated her, how they'd shaped history and led to the formation of whole nations, caused wars, and guided people to peace for centuries. In her spare time, she almost constantly had a book on religion. The Bible was the only one approved of by her parents, though they didn't stop her from finding others.
It was very clear, to them at least, that their daughter was becoming a very spiritual child. By the time she was eleven, she'd learned all she could about Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism, and was learning all she could about Buddhism and Taoism. Every morning started with a meditation, and was followed by a vegetarian breakfast. Meat repulsed her, and she refused to even touch it. However, her temper tantrums had stopped, and with the new focus she had gained through her researching, she was excelling in school. There was no way Charlotte and Damian could complain about it. They thought it was a blessing, and a phase that she would grow out of. Jokingly, they suggested that she join a convent, and focus on Christianity. They didn't expect her enthusiastic response, which was mostly to bother them. For some reason, despite all her interests in other religions, Christianity wasn't as fascinating to her. She blamed that on the fact that her parents tried to push it on her, rather than her discovering it on her own.
When Jr. was fifteen, he went away, to Riverdale High School. He was to be a boarding student there, like his father before him. This upset Valentina, as now she had such little contact with her brother. A year passed, though, and she came to Riverdale, to join him. Despite the distance from her parents, she was happy. Her relationship with her brother was far better than the one with her parents, and he had never, ever questioned her spirituality. Since coming to Riverdale, she's been incredibly happy, and has excelled even more than she did in Seattle.
