The rumor mill at Riverdale High was such a bitch. There were always rumors floating around. Mark usually ignored them, not putting much stock into them unless they concerned him. Why should he care who made out with who at last night's party, so long as it wasn't someone making out with his girlfriend? Now, Mark didn't mind flings here or there. One night stands, or even off and on flings were alright in his book. When it came to a full-fledged relationship, though, things were a bit different. Or so he thought. He wasn't sure what to make of the latest in rumors. One of the 'so and so got together with so and so at a party' turned out to be 'Evie got together with Raven one night'. If it were any other person, he wouldn't care. Hell, if he and Evie weren't an item, he wouldn't care. He was actually surprised even now at how much he cared. It wasn't like they hadn't slept around and come back to each other before. That said, they hadn't gone by the name boyfriend and girlfriend before either. They were friends with benefits, friends for the most part who would occasionally have a night or two together whenever the mood struck them. For all of his nonchalant attitude before, though, he considered things with Evie to be different. They were actually in a relationship. So hearing these rumors didn't sit right with Mark. He didn't even want to give it a consideration at first. He employed his usual defense mechanism and tried to ignore the rumor that was even going around. There was only about a 50/50 chance the rumor was true anyway. That was how things worked in the high school rumor mill. Mark was a normal on his first life and even he was well aware how things operated. He did a pretty good job of it too, until he overheard Evie's best friend Freya talking at a party about the incident. It was easy to brush off the rumor mill, but hearing Evie's best friend, possibly the only one closer to Evie than his sister and her other roommate, or himself? It was getting harder and harder to deny that something was up, and that he needed to get the record set straight with Evie. He hiked the familiar hike up to her dorm, not even bothering to sneak about as it was still early enough that the curfews were in effect, and knocked on the door, waiting for an answer. Though he obviously had no qualms about his sister, he honestly hoped that she wasn't around. This wasn't the kind of conversation that he wanted to have in front of Chelsea, or her other roommate for that matter. Word count: 548 To: Ali/Evie Notes: Regarding the first line - I had to. XD

There were some things that you just couldn't get away with doing when you attended high school. It was a lesson that Evie should have learnt after her drug usage had been outed to the entire student body but it seemed that she was still trying to push the boundaries a little.
Her drug taking was certainly something she was not impressed with herself for. Now that she had taken a step back from herself she could see what everyone else was seeing. In all fairness, Tamara's attempt at sabbotaging her had worked but it had also possibly saved Evie's life. She should thank her one day - that would definitely piss her off. It was still going on, but it had definitely calmed down that she was no longer risking her life day in and day out. She hoped that it would be soon that she would be able to kick the drugs once and for all. It was hard though, particularly when your best friend was in that scene too. There were some things though that had happened during that time of her life that had so far not made itself to be general knowledge. However there was one part of her drug fuelled adventures that had somehow managed to creep out and was now one of the rumours that were currently filling the school corridors.
Unlike most rumours, this one was true. It had been not long after the key incident between Evie and Tamara and Raven's and Leila's untimely end of their relationship. It seemed that Raven wanted to get back at his ex and Evie certainly owed him one after what he had risked to get the key back and what he had done to Tamara. It had happened at a typical high school party and afterwards they had carried on with their friendship as if nothing had happened, and nothing since had happened either. The strange thing was out of all of this was that it was an incredibly risky thing for both of them to do, if one who an RSOR member could see. Raven had been Jack the Ripper who had butchered prostitutes and whores...Evie was, in this lifetime, a whore and had been referred to as a whore in her past life. It was a dangerous thing to have done and Evie had been fully aware of it...one wrong move and he could have lost sanity...who knows what would have happened then. But then Evie had always wanted to know what the Ripper was like in bed and any chance at wiping the smirk of Leila's face meant that the entire situation was fair game.
Being faithful in relationships had always been confusing to Evie, not just in this life but in her last as well. It had been extremely normal at Versailles for its inhabitants to have extra marital affairs, even having up to 3 lovers as well as their husband or wife. The King himself before her and Louis' reign had had a mistress from the brothels of Paris. And so when she had begun an sexual affair with Count Fersen she had hardly felt any guilt. What Louis didn't know wouldn't hurt him. He had had an idea of course of the actual relationship between Marie and her favourite but he too had been brought up in the same world and so he had not uttered a word to her about it. Being faithful in this century was a lot different than in the 1700's. It was one of the reasons that before Mark, Evie had never settled for anybody except for one night stands and flings. She knew that sleeping with Raven whilst being in a relationship with Mark was wrong, but it was hard for her to feel guilt because of her experiences in the French Court and because it had happened at a time when she had no idea what was going on because she was tripping out of her mind. Unfortunately, he and other normals would never know the extent of her confusion - she would just be seen as a slut.
Evie was sitting in her dorm as Mark knocked the door, working on an essay that had been due in 2 weeks ago. She had already had two detentions out of it and was trying not to receive another one. This essay would be done by tonight, she had promised herself. She was not expecting Mark - she had asked for him to give her some alone time so that she wouldn't get distracted from her work - so she was surprised to see him standing in the doorway. It didn't stop a smile from lighting up her face though. She seemed to almost be a whole new person than the one who Mark had to console after her drug scandel had come out months ago. "Oh hey! What are you doing here?" She opened the door wider, allowing him to enter if he wished to do so. Tags: Mark/Mandee, Raven/Cal? It all comes back to you, everything you put me through
You can drag me to hell, you can curse me with spells. But I'm damned, I'm damned, like an angel that fell Raven didn’t have any idea how Evie’s flash drive had ended up under his bed. It was probably while they were being ridiculous at some point. It was probably good that his snarky roommate moved out because it gave him an excuse to clean the room. Anyway, while cleaning to find all of Cillian’s crap, he came across a flash drive that he remembered being described in Evie’s lost bulletin. How it was that he ended up saving her ass this often he had no idea. He seriously did not do it on purpose this time, last time he had being that it was Tamara and her having a key gave him a great excuse. Thus, he could not get in trouble being that they were allowed to use any force deemed necessary to obtain the keys. Sure everything he had done probably wasn’t entirely necessary, but he was pretty sure that nobody would question him on that. It was necessary for him, and that was all that mattered. Anyway though, he should probably return the flash drive, but the room was torn apart at the moment and he didn’t want Vaughn to come back and threaten to behead him or something. Thus he cleaned everything up before deciding he should return the flash drive before it got too late and he would have to sneak around. Well, Raven had no issue with sneaking around being that he was kind of a creep and did it all the time anyway, but it was just inconvenient that he had to in order to return a freaking flash drive. Anyway though, it was before that silly curfew thing and so he wandered his way out of the boys dorms and into the girls dorms.
The rumor that was circulating the school was a true one, and it was that he had slept with Evie one night. He honestly had no idea who started it being that he thought that the only ones who knew were the ones that were involved. Apparently not, either someone had seen them wander off and assumed, or Evie told someone seeing as he certainly hadn’t. Who was he going to tell anyway? It wasn’t as if he had any close friends that he could tell, and it wasn’t something to really brag about in his opinion. Sleeping with someone for revenge on an ex isn’t exactly considered to be a great thing. He had certainly done worse though so he wasn’t worried about it. Also, there was the fact that he was pretty incapable of caring about what others think at this point so thus was simply ignoring the rumors. Not like anyone had the guts to ask him about it directly anyway, and so he just sat back and listened to them get a little wild. Anyway though he needed to find Evie’s room so he could give her the flash drive then return to whatever it was he was doing seeing as he doubted they would do anything. Besides, he didn’t want the rumors to turn into them having an affair. They were just friends and nothing more and hadn’t even brought up the fact that they had slept together since it happened. Both just seemed to pretend it never happened and move on with their lives like nothing was different. Which, honestly it wasn’t not like Raven had fallen in love with Evie and he was pretty sure she hadn’t fallen in love with him. The two of them did not work like that after all, and it was pretty clear that it was going to be a one-time thing up front.
Anyway he made it to Evie’s dorm and saw her boyfriend thing was there and thus was going to just drop off the flash drive and leave. Well, that was his plan anyway. ”Hey Evie, I found your flash drive in my room while cleaning. No idea how it got under my bed but whatever at least it isn’t lost?” he said completely ignoring how bad that could sound to someone who was already suspicious. Then again he also didn’t exactly realize that Mark had heard the rumors and was here to confront Evie about it to begin with.

As far as Mark was concerned, he didn't have all that much to worry about. He had no problem with sleeping around with he was single, but for all his antics, he viewed a relationship as different. That was the whole point of being in a relationship, wasn't it? (Oh, if only he knew about his father's habits of sleeping around...) If you weren't faithful to someone, you weren't their boyfriend or girlfriend. You were just friend with benefits. And Mark and Evie were definitely boyfriend and girlfriend. That much was established. Still, he wanted to get the record set clear. Besides, why give up on an excuse to see Evie? Everything would probably turn out fine, and if they were alone in the dorm, maybe they could get up to a little bit of fun afterward. Yes, let's have a serious talk with your girlfriend, then follow it with some hanky panky. That totally makes sense. This was how Mark reasoned it would go when Evie answered the door and smiled instantly. He smiled instantly as well, then stepped inside as she opened the door wider. "I just wanted to talk to you about something. Nothing big, just want to set the record straight." It was saying something that Mark didn't even consider this to be that big of a deal, though in reality, he was more worried than he was letting on. He just didn't want to acknowledge it to himself, let alone anyone else. Unfortunately Mark received a crack in his forced denial when the last person he wanted to see at Evie's dorm...appeared in Evie's dorm. Mark knew that Evie was friends with Raven, so it wasn't that farfetched...but the next words that came out of Raven's mouth caused Mark to arch an eyebrow. He didn't address Raven with the question, but rather Evie. "What were you doing in his dorm?" Mark questioned, surprised at just how annoyed he actually sounded. He meant for it to be a simple question, just like everything else, but with Raven's presence, and Raven's statement, it was hard to deny that something was off. He was also, admittedly, annoyed at Raven's presence in the first place. Here he wanted to discuss something with his girlfriend, and Raven showed up to interrupt the whole thing. Call it jealousy, call it suspicion, or call it both, but it was getting harder for Mark to ignore. He waited for an answer from Evie. This was answer that he wanted from her, not Raven. Unfortunately, he had no way to guarantee that this was actually the way it would be... Word count: 448 To: Ali/Evie Notes: Mmhm

Evie knew about the rumour spreading throughout the school. How could she not? It was one of the main pieces of gossip that was flying back and forth through the cafeteria, in the toilets and during classtime. And honestly Evie could kind of understand what the big deal was over it all. The drug addict and the creepy loner guy getting it on? If Evie paid any attention to hearsay (she didn't like to after what had happened in her previous life...) and she heard something like this going around that involved two people outside the social norms, then it would certainly intrigued her.
Evie absolutely loathed gossip. It was one of the main reasons in how she had come to lose her head three hundred years ago and although things weren't quite as drastic these days, it still made her blood boil. She hated hearing it about anybody full stop but hearing it about her made her want to cut people even though she would usually never hurt a fly unless she was pushed to. Hi Tamara! She also hated that people had to stoop so low to get some kicks. Were their own lives not that interesting that they had to talk about others all day long? So this rumour that was flying around that was enough to damage her reputation even more (and that was something she didn't want happening - it was only recently that things with RSOR were okay again) was definitely winding her up. Even as Marie she had ignored it...and that was exactly what she was doing now. She wouldn't even address it as she was sure it would die down sometime. That was how high school rumours worked right? It wasn't as if she would be beheaded again, otherwise she might have done something rather than sitting back and letting it build until gossips were stating that she had told peasants to eat cake. Metaphorically of course.
Even though this rumour was bugging her it didn't cross Evie's mind on why Mark was visiting. She assumed that this was just a social call to see how her day was going, perhaps have some 'fun'. So she gave Mark a blank look as he spoke about wanting to set some sort of record straight. "Okay?" She had waited quietly for a few seconds to wait for him to start talking when suddenly why he was here flashed into her mind. Before he could talk, she blurted out what she thought he had come to talk to her for. "If this is about that ten dollars I owe you I can give it to you tomorrow once my parents have sent me my allowance." And before you think or say it, no that money wasn't used for drugs. She had borrowed it buy a new guitar when she found that she was slightly short and the man wouldn't sell it to her for any less.
She was still waiting when Raven suddenly appeared in her dorm too. She looked up at him blinking at the fact that so many people seemed to be wanting to visit her all at once when Raven held up a familiar flashdrive. So her frantic bulletin had come in use then! She figured that it would either be ignored or forgotten about and then she would be in the shit with her english teacher. Then again she'd probably be in the shit for posting that she lost an unfinished piece of work that should have been handed in a fortnight ago. Her confused look changed suddenly to excitement as Raven spoke about how he had found it under his bed when he was cleaning. "No way! Thanks Rae." She didn't even stop to think how suspicious this was sounding to an already suspicious Mark. So it actually surprised her at how annoyed her sounded when he questioned her about what she been doing in his dorm room in the first place. "We were hanging out the other night laughing at crappy horror movies. Whats wrong?" She didn't get it. Mark knew full well that they were friends and hung out sometimes. Even though he didn't particularly like Raven he had never said anything to Evie that suggested any form of jealously so this attitude was a new one for her. She knew that guys got jealous sometimes but this? This to her was out the blue. Now only if she put the rumour going around and Mark's annoyance then she would see what he was saying. It all comes back to you, everything you put me through
You can drag me to hell, you can curse me with spells. But I'm damned, I'm damned, like an angel that fell It would seem that Mark was there for something other than just sleeping with Evie, and Raven found that odd. After all, wasn’t that how their relationship worked or something? Meh, honestly he didn’t care, all he wanted to do was drop off Evie’s flash drive then go back to doing nothing all day. Maybe he would go find Cecile at some point and go somewhere with her. If she wanted to that was, he wasn’t so sure how she was taking to him being completely insane after all. Anyway, seemed that Evie appreciated him finding it and he really wondered how it had ended up under his bed. It was probably during one of their popcorn fights or something. That would also explain the mass amount of popcorn that was under his bed and how it was all stale. ”No problem, probably just fell out of your pocket. It happens all the time with small flash drives. This is why it’s always good to have extra copies elsewhere.” he said with a shrug. It was true enough and he definitely never relied on just a little flash drive for all his work. They were easy enough to lose and sometimes you never got them back. Anyway though, that was all he came to do so he should probably leave, but something was keeping him there for the moment. Maybe it was the look on Mark’s face, or the way he asked what they were doing in his room. Raven lived to irritate people, and he wondered what Mark’s issue was today. Maybe the rumors had gotten to him, and if he actually was insecure about it then Raven was filled with glee. Sure it could be something else, but it seemed Mark was irritable about Evie being with him. So he was going to stick around a bit.
With a raised eyebrow at Mark’s irritation he chuckled a bit. ”Calm your tits dude, we’re friends and that means we hang out in one another’s rooms at times last I checked.” he mused with a bit of a smirk. Hey, if his tone would irritate Mark, then all the better. After all he was very good at pissing people off, and found it to be hilarious most of the time. Thus he hadn’t walked away yet, and wasn’t planning on doing so for a bit. If Evie asked him to leave, then he would, but otherwise he was going to chill. ”So, Evie do you think the teacher is even going to accept the assignment when it’s this late? Also, you probably should have just started over rather than wait for the return of your flash drive so you could have actually gotten it done on time.” he asked curiously. After all, many teachers decided they were not going to accept work after a certain number of days when the student didn’t have an absence or anything, and there was also the fact that she could have just started it over. Asked the teacher what the project was again because she lost the specifications or whatever. Sure the teacher would be annoyed, but it would be better than just not doing it. Maybe that was just his logic though and, knowing Evie, she might not have even thought of doing that. Ah well, it was probably too late to turn it in, but at least she had her flash drive back? That was one upside he supposed.
Though he doubted she would be able to get anything done today if Mark was here and being irritable. If he was irritable then why bother coming to see his girlfriend? After all, there were better ways to get rid of irritation. Like stabbing things, or maybe that was just Raven and his insanity.

This whole encounter was awkward, especially as Mark normally didn't have that much of a problem with Raven. Sure, he and Raven weren't exactly friends or anything, but they didn't outright have a problem with each other. Mark, even still, didn't entirely believe the rumors, although even he was starting to realize that something was up. If he overheard her own best friend talking about it, that was hard to ignore. Freya of all people would know who Evie had gotten with. "Nope, not the ten dollars. Don't even worry about that." He shook his head, yet still managed a small smile. This was Evie, and he was happy to see her. And ten dollars? Pssh. It wasn't as if she'd borrowed a hundred dollars from him and never returned it. He wasn't even thinking about that. Mark didn't like Raven's presence here, however. It was one thing if he and Evie truly were friends, but did he really have to stick around? It was clear that Mark, Evie's boyfriend, was stopping by her apartment for a reason, and that usually couples didn't want a third party that one person didn't even know that well to stick around for any couple time. Sure, Mark and Evie wouldn't be getting up to anything (at least...not right away, though Mark certainly wouldn't complain if, once Evie hopefully set the record straight, they did get up to something), but... It bothered Mark that Raven was piping up with retorts to questions that weren't even directed toward him. He wasn't even supposed to be here. Yes, he realized that Raven only stopped by to drop off the flash drive, but why didn't he just go and mind his own business? Yes, sex was a part of Mark and Evie's relationship, there was no doubt about that. It wasn't the only factor, though. It bothered him even worse when Raven started making conversation with Evie (was he really that oblivious?), and he could not resist rolling his eyes. He looked over at Evie at once. "As I was saying Evie, I had something to talk to you about. Then I was hoping we could hang out for a bit." He hoped that Evie would get the hint. Raven too, for that matter, but mostly Evie. This was her apartment, after all, and he hoped that she'd respect his request that they talk alone. The fact of the matter was, Mark wasn't irritable until Raven showed up. Raven had a way of bringing that out in people, and Mark was no exception. He'd come here for a reason - To see his girlfriend, to get a few things set straight, and Raven was preventing that from happening. Word count: 466 To: Ali/Evie Notes: Mmhm

Hmmm. If it wasn't the ten dollars that Mark was asking for back, then she was quite unsure on what he wanted to talk to her about. Then again it may not even be that serious so she was probably getting slightly concerned for no reason at all. Still, she did want to know what it was that she had to clear up with him. "Oh...are you sure? I don't mind at all. I have a lot more money nowadays. And if its not that I still owe you money, then what record am I setting straight?" She blinked at him waiting for him to answer.
And then Raven showed up with her falsh drive and Evie forgot for a second that her and Mark seemed to be heading towards a pretty serious conversation. She was also wondering how it had ended up under her bed - it wasn't as though that was the night that they had fooled around so she couldn't really think off a reason for it to drop out of her pocket, forgetting that they had had a pretty epic popcorn fight. She listened to Raven's advice and actually considered it. Perhaps it really was a good idea to pick up some extra ones to avert disaster in the future. After all she was quite notorious in her dorm to keep losing her key and so something that was roughly the same size would be easily misplaced by her too. "Perhaps I really should. Me and small objects don't mix well." She grinned at this.
It was also around this point that Mark actually questioned Evie on what she had been doing in his room and whilst she had given a reasonable reply, Raven's made her want to laugh out loud. She didn't of course as this was her boyfriend that he was saying this to. Anyone else and she would have cracked a rib. Instead she raised her eyebrows at Raven as if to say 'be nice' and crossed her arms. She did have to admit that Raven had a point though, but then she had to remember that if Mark had hung out in a girls dorm who was his friend, she'd be a little jealous too, and so she also understood where Mark was coming from.
It looked as though she wanted to say something, before Raven interupted her thoughts and began questioning her about the lateness of her homework. "I don't know. I hope not, then I don't have to do it. And that never actually crossed my mind. I guess I've never been too good with the whole school thing." She grinned at this, knowing that Raven would read more into that than Mark did. After all it was quite common knowledge that Marie Antoinette had never been very keep on education, and it was a trait that Evie had bought through to this life.
She looked back to Mark and nodded at him saying he wanted to talk to her. Unfortunately it also didn't hit home that he wanted to do this alone. She had recently started her therapy for drug addiction and the sessions were leaving her mentally drained, causing her not to think as fast. His irritation did surprise her though and it was after a few moments that it snapped into place about why he was really here. He had probably heard the rumours and was looking for her side of the story before he reacted to them. Her face suddenly dropped and she felt herself panic inside, before glancing at Raven with a worried look. It was clear that she wanted to say 'you better get out of here' but she couldn't aloud. She really didn't want to lie to Mark, but she didn't to admit it either. Sure, she had been a pretty good liar for the past year or so when she hid her addictions from everybody, but that was different. She wasn't that good a liar sober at all. If she spat it out in the end it was best that Raven was a safe distance away. She really didn't want to be spending her afternoon pulling them apart. "Oh...okay then..." She waited for the inevitable question. Tags: Mark/Mandee, Raven/Cal Listening to: -- Thoughts: FINALLY posted. Sorry for the suckiness but it's something! Word count: 786

It all comes back to you, everything you put me through
You can drag me to hell, you can curse me with spells. But I'm damned, I'm damned, like an angel that fell Raven could tell quite easily that he was starting to annoy Mark, but Raven loved to be irritating so it was no big deal to him. So what if he got punched in the face? It certainly wouldn’t be the first time it happened and besides Mark would be in for one hell of a surprise if it happened unless Raven decided to just laugh it off. Usually he did because the person punching him was just ridiculous to begin with, but this one he may not. Just depended on the context under which he was getting punched. If it was for being around Evie then he wouldn’t exactly laugh that one off, but otherwise he probably would. Not only did he like pissing people off, but he had many years of practice as such a thing. Yes it had gotten him hit a lot, but he thought it was worth it. Also, there was the little fact that he was a psychopath and didn’t particularly care about what others thought of him. He heard Evie definitely being a little confused about setting a record straight, and so apparently neither he nor she knew what Mark was talking about at the moment. Sure they both had a hunch, but it was nothing more than that.
Evie’s comment about small objects just made him shake his head. ”Is this a frequent problem for you Evie? Well then, maybe you should stop handling them?” he asked with a bit of a chuckle. Yes, there was possibly some sort of innuendo there, but whether Evie caught it or not would make this hilarious or just get brushed off. Raven really couldn’t help the fact that his mind was almost perpetually in the gutter. He was horribly corrupted from a young age and despite being reincarnated he was still technically a teenage boy so it just came with the territory. Then he got a look that probably read be nice from Evie on his comment telling Mark to calm his tits. He just gave her his most innocent face like he had no idea what she was talking about he was always nice. Okay that was a blatant lie being that he hardly ever played nice, but still he could at least pretend for the moment. Only for a moment though being that it was Raven and he was really incapable of giving a damn about what some normal thought of him. Which, to him, that was all that Mark was and ever would be, not only was the boy an underclassman but he was a normal, and thus none of his concern.
Hearing what Evie was saying he had to laugh a bit. ”You might want to send them an email to ask if you can turn it in before spending all that time doing it honestly. If you can’t then it would just be wasting time you could spend on other homework. I’m pretty sure I would have been ended repeatedly if I didn’t do well in school.” he noted realizing her hint and giving one of his own sort of. Being that it was hard to be ended repeatedly unless you had multiple lives, or just liked the expression which implied being murdered and brought back to life a few times. Anyway though, he could see the frustration building from Evie’s boyfriend about wanting to talk to her alone or something. The problem with that though was that he had a few stories to tell Evie as of late. He probably couldn’t really explain without letting Mark know he was clinically insane though so he supposed they were going to have to wait. ”But I have stories to tell Evie.” he said pouting slightly. Yes, he was ignoring the looks that told him to leave, and no he didn’t particularly care how dense they thought him to be. He was that emo kid that hid in the back, he couldn’t read emotions. Well, alright that was a lie, but Mark didn’t have to know that.

Even Mark couldn't completely deny that this was starting to get frustrating very quickly. However, Mark did his best to reel in his frustration. He didn't know the full extent of what Raven was capable of, not to mention he was legitimately trying to downplay any lingering concerns he might have that Evie cheated on him with Raven. It was just so much easier to pretend those rumors never happened and hang out with Evie per usual. Why did Raven have to be there, though? It wasn't so much Raven's presence in and of itself, it was the fact that Raven's presence there made it impossible to forget the rumors that he'd heard and just enjoy his time with Evie. Then there was the fact that Raven was almost trying to be annoying...or maybe that just came naturally. Mark noted the innuendo, and could not help but smirk a bit at it himself. He was aware that it might be a jab from Raven to him, but honestly didn't care that much. Clearly Evie enjoyed her romps with him, or they wouldn't have continued. And they weren't even dating when these romps first started...at first it was only friends with benefits! That said, with the official title in place, Mark did expect a degree of faithfulness. There was a certain degree of trust involved in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, after all, that a friends with benefits relationship did not have. The junior could not help but raise an eyebrow at Raven. Was the guy seriously that dense, or was he doing this on purpose? Either way, Mark realized that merely hinting at the issue wasn't going to do much of anything. Evie didn't get what he was trying to say, and Raven either didn't or was trying to act like he didn't. "Actually, I kind of wanted to spend some time with Evie alone. You can talk to her afterward, though." He was trying his best to be easygoing, since, other than minor annoyances, Raven hadn't really given him anything to be pissed off at yet. Or, rather, he had, but Mark himself was in denial about the rumors that he'd heard. As rumors usually had to be taken with a grain of salt, this wasn't necessarily a bad move in most instances, but in this case? It was just delaying the inevitable. Moreover, Raven was a friend of Evie's, and therefore Mark was trying to be respectful even if the two weren't exactly in the same crowd of people (obviously, as Mark was not in RSOR). Mark could not help but focus his attention more at Evie as he spoke, although he did glance briefly at Raven as he waited to see what their take on this would be. Evie could feel the tension in the room growing between Mark and Raven. She realised that Mark was beginning to get frustrated and that Raven wasn't exactly doing anything to lighten the atmosphere - in fact it seemed to her that he was deliberately trying to be annoying to him. She had known Raven for four years, only becoming friends when the two bonded over RSOR and found that they didn't find one another weird and annoying as hell. So Raven's behaviour now was not bothering her. Really if the situation was a bit different and he was acting like this to someone else, Evie would find the whole thing incredibly funny.
That was Evie's big problem with things like this. There was always something that made her laugh eventually because she hated to take things like this seriously. Rather, she preferred the method of either ignoring things or down playing everything - something that had been one of the reasons for her beheading in her past life and for these rumours of her and Raven's random fling to be out of control and travelling around the school like wild fire. Raven's innuendo was the thing in this conversation that cracked her composure and made her laugh out loud. It took at least a minute for her to gain her composure once again but she could not help the flash of a grin in Raven's direction. She was definitely not agreeing with his innuendo, but the fact that he had the nerve to say it in front of Mark who he was referring to made her like him as a friend that little bit more. Honestly, Evie was acting as though she didn't have a boyfriend at the moment, and even worse at this moment she was acting as if Mark wasn't there.
When her amusement had died down (she didn't even reply to it incase Raven came up with another one that would get her into even more trouble) Raven carried on about checking about her homework. She grinned when he caught her hint and replied with one of his own. "Yeah I suppose I should get in touch. But seriously Raven? Focus on more homework? Not likely. I'll probably ring Freya up to hang out or something." She grinned at this, excited at the prospect of possibly being able to spend time with her best friend without homework looming over her head for a night. Mark suddenly interrupted their small talk (they couldn't exactly have a full blown conversation when Mark was already getting extremely irritated). She found it uncomfortable when he spoke mainly to her as if hoping that she would tell Raven to leave too. Yes, they had things to discuss which was better in private but Raven had just done her a favour and she felt that it would be a little ungrateful if she shoved him out the door and closed the door in his face.
It was at this point that it clicked in Evie's head about why Mark was here, why he was getting extremely irritated with Raven and why he wanted to talk to her alone. After all this conversation would be a whole lot more awkward if the guy she had cheated on Mark with was still in the room. Evie gazed at Mark a look of shame spreading across her features. This was the guy who had been the only person to approach her at the dance and ask her to dance even when she was at her worst in her 'habits'. He was the guy who had been there ever since and had helped her get to a point where she felt that she could have a brighter future than the one she saw before her only months ago. He was the guy that even when she had hated what she was, had loved her for who she was even if she was a lot to take on.
And then Raven mentioned he had stories to tell her. Without thinking what this action would cost her, her eyes drifted from Mark and to Raven. "Stories? Do tell Rave." She grinned at him waiting, never realising that to Mark it looked like she didn't take him seriously enough to listen to him, when she actually truly did. It all comes back to you, everything you put me through
You can drag me to hell, you can curse me with spells. But I'm damned, I'm damned, like an angel that fell Raven knew that the innuendo would be caught by both of them, and if it wasn’t then they were horribly dense. Seemed he got a smirk out of Mark and then a laugh from Evie. Well, she did walk right into that one so it wasn’t his fault he just pointed it out. Not like he was completely intentionally burning the other guy here, but it just happened due to the fact that Evie seemed to not watch what she said around him. You would think, that after knowing Raven for as long as she did, she would learn to not walk into horrible jokes like that. Apparently though that wasn’t the case, and oh well because that made it more amusing for Jack. He waited for Evie to regain her composure before asking about her homework, and seemed she didn’t exactly care about it too much. Why bother asking about the flash drive then? It just didn’t make sense to him, but then again he also got relatively good grades all the time. That was probably because he had past life knowledge to go on though rather than because he studied a lot of the time. Which, honestly he was the type to just not study and still get an A or a B due to remembering the information the first time by taking decent enough notes to remember it. The notes didn’t always make sense to everyone else, but it worked for him so that was what was important.
Hearing Evie say that her focusing on homework was not going to happen and she was more likely to call up Freya to hang out. ”Why did you even bother asking for the flash drive back then you loon?” he asked raising an eyebrow at her. It was a decent enough question after all being that it seemed pointless at this point. He heard that Mark wanted to spend some time with Evie, and he had a story to tell her. He dis suppose he could always tell her later on the phone rather than in person. Especially being that Mark was here and he couldn’t exactly divulge all the details of the story. He was pretty sure that Evie would be able to catch on to quite a few of them though. It was hard to say at times though being that she could be a little dense. Especially being that her supposed boyfriend wanted to talk to her and she didn’t even look like she cared. Well, for a moment it looked like she cared, but only for a moment due to the fact that she seemed far more interested in the stories that Raven had to tell. That was definitely an interesting prospect to and he wondered how long it would be before Mark got fed up and ended up giving up what he came here for. Raven decided to test this a little and pretended like he was paying all his attention to Evie. He was watching Mark’s reactions though to see how this went. Evie seemed to be certainly pretending that Mark wasn’t even there when Raven started talking, and so he would see how this went. A little experiment if you would, even if it was a messed up one that he was testing and could destroy a relationship. If she really wanted to be with Mark wouldn’t she have told Raven to leave by now anyway?
He chuckled a bit when she asked him to tell about his stories. In response he rolled up his sleeves and showed the bandaged up arms. ”I got jumped in the less savory parts of Riverdale. Apparently someone wanted revenge.” he noted with a grin and a roll of his eyes. He may have deserved some of it, but some of it was a little over the line for his liking. Ah well, there wasn’t much he could do about it, and he did suppose that they could be considered a bit even now. At least he wouldn’t have to worry about such things in the future now that it was over with. He was pretty sure a few people involved were a little freaked out by it though.
"And by the way. The rumors are true, I did sleep with your girlfriend." he stated when he realized his phone was going off. "Now I have a call to take, so I'll be going." he noted before skipping off down the hallway.

When it came to trying to laugh things off and down play them, Mark was the same way. Perhaps this was what drew the two to each other in the first place. That said, it was hard to downplay something when it was continuously thrown in your face. He'd come here with the intent of talking with Evie and blowing off the rumors that he heard, but everything that was happening thus far only served to support the rumors. He didn't much care when Evie addressed Raven at first. Raven was a friend of his, and although Mark and Raven would never exactly be the type to hang out, he understood that Evie was friends with Raven and therefore she was having some friendly banter with him. However, he couldn't help but think that he'd dropped more than enough hints that he wanted to talk to Evie alone. Surely Raven and/or Evie had to pick up on one of these hints. Around this time he saw Evie's look of shame, and was fairly certain that she'd finally caught on. This was good - After all, Mark couldn't exactly tell Raven to leave when this was Evie's dorm. Now, if this were his dorm, that would be an entirely different story... Even Mark couldn't ignore what happened next, however. He'd clearly expressed his desire that he wanted to speak with Evie alone. He'd given Raven and Evie ample time to comply with his request. Moreover, judging by Evie's prior expression, she had to have some idea that Mark wanted to talk to her about something serious. Yet Raven mentioned that he had stories to tell and she turned her attention back to him straight away? Even Mark, for all his attempts at denying that something was wrong, realized that this wasn't right. It was damn clear that he wasn't going to get any talking done with Raven in the dorm, and with Evie asking that question, Raven wasn't going to leave any time soon. That much was frustratingly clear. He'd remained fairly calm up until this point, but now he couldn't help but glare at Evie. "Well, it's clear you don't have time to talk now, so I guess I'll have to come back later when you aren't busy." Almost anyone would find this ridiculous, and it was remarkable that Mark managed to last this long. The strangest part was, most of his annoyance was actually directed at Evie rather than Raven. He'd blatantly expressed that he wanted to talk to her, and she'd outright ignored him. Raven was just...there. Granted, he did a good job of being annoying just standing there half the time. But then it went over the top. Raven finally 'got the hint', so to speak, but threw one last parting shot at Mark. Though he felt tempted to punch Raven's lights out at the lackadaisical way Raven tossed such a blow at him, most of Mark's anger was still directed toward Evie. Raven was an ass, yes. He knew that Mark and Evie were dating, and he was not completely absolved from blame. Ultimately, though, Evie was the one in the relationship. It was up to Evie to say no. She hadn't, and Mark was finally at the point where he could no longer deny that there was something terribly wrong with this equation. "Wow, no wonder you didn't really want to talk to me. Sorry I interrupted your quality time with Mr. Kass. Don't worry though, you'll have plenty of quality time now." With that, Mark turned back around, his hands clenched into fists. He would have said more, but he knew that he needed to get out of there before his temper really flared up. He headed off down the hall opposite Raven, not caring if Evie had anything to say in return or not. He wasn't planning on even giving her the time of day.
