It seemed as though Tamara and Vaughn had come a long way over the several months they'd been together. It wasn't an arrangement the two of them saw coming at their first meeting at all (though even as she was tossing insults back and forth with him then, she noted her physical attraction to him), but first impressions clearly weren't everything. In such a couple, full of two very passionate people, there were bound to be highs and lows the size of mountains and valleys. Their relationship very nearly ended shortly before Halloween, and both of them felt the impact of that. Tamara was careful around Vaughn in a way that she wasn't careful around anyone else in RSOR. The fact was, she wanted to be with him regardless of what he was affiliated with. It was just utterly frustrating when both her adopted sister and her boyfriend were in RSOR, and refused to tell her a thing about it. One would think that they could at least give away something. Around the above two, at least, Tamara had all but given up. She still had every intent of trying to figure out what RSOR was, but she had plenty of other venues she could seek answers from. Anti-RSOR was growing larger, after all. It started with just her, Errol, and Kodi, but now included Lena, Elise, and Aleksia. Lucien used to be amongst the ranks of Anti-RSOR as well, but he'd been recruited into RSOR recently, and tormented Anti-RSOR in much the way Anti-RSOR taunted RSOR. That said, Tamara was always on the lookout for new members. There were strength in numbers, after all, and RSOR most definitely had the numbers. If, however, Anti-RSOR could get enough 'normals' interested in finding out what the big secret was...well, maybe they could actually get RSOR to crack. Unfortunately, they had a long way to go before they could even consider that. Therefore, they had to go with more sneaky techniques to try to figure things out. For now, though, Tamara was setting her goals aside for a night out with Vaughn. There was time for work and time for play, and Tamara was long overdue for some play time. The two still had to figure out where they were going...dinner and a movie was a serious consideration, but Tamara figured they could discuss the matter on their way to town. As it was, she was seated in her car listening to music and tapping her hand against the stereo to the beat of said music while she waited for Vaughn to come out to her car. Tamara wasn't a very patient person though, so the tapping was, more than likely, less out of actual enjoyment and more out of impatience. Oh well, she would be pleased soon enough. If there was any sort of relationship problem, there was a pretty good chance that Vaughn and Tamara had already gone through it. The young couple had been together for some time now, and they’d had issues since day one. In fact, when they met, if you told them that sooner rather than later they’d be dating, either of them would have given you the strangest look and denied it without so much as a second thought. Saying that they hadn’t gotten along was an understatement. Vaughn’s attitude certainly hadn’t helped the situation much. His sense of self-importance was more than elevated, especially above that of what a high school senior’s should be. It was a mixture of knowing who he was inside and just feeling more important to most of the people in this town, and simply because he was a foreign exchange student, and he didn’t have that much respect for the United States and most of the people here. But time had passed, they’d been forced to get to know each other because of a school project, and it all went from there. They became more friendly, they danced at prom, and soon Vaughn was asking her out. Everything had changed. It was a total 360, one that no one had expected, and especially not Vaughn himself. At this point, though, he knew he didn’t regret it. He loved Tamara. He hadn’t told her yet, probably because the night that was finally going to ended up in a major fight between the two of them, and he hadn’t neared the subject since. Maybe tonight he would finally be able to tell her. He finished up getting ready in his dorm — nothing too fancy, just jeans and a nicer shirt than usual, plus a spritz of his favorite cologne — and headed down the stairs quickly. Tamara was waiting outside, and he was the guy in the relationship. He wasn’t supposed to be the one keeping her waiting. In a minute or two, he left the school and headed over to her car. Vaughn opened the passenger door and got in. It still felt weird to him, not being the one driving, but that was the foreign exchange program for you. “Hey,” he said simply, leaning over and giving her a kiss, smiling as he pulled away. “So what’s the plan?” Vaughn had been trying his hardest since they made up from their fight to make sure that he acted like everything was normal, and he had to say he was doing pretty good so far. It felt that way to him, at least. STATUS # finished FEATURING # vaughn & tamara! Part of the reason why Vaughn and Tamara ended up together had to do with the fact that they were both more similar than either of them wanted to admit at their first meeting. Vaughn wasn't the only one with a bit of an attitude problem. Tamara liked getting what she wanted, and when she didn't she threw a fit. Hence her entire attitude toward RSOR. Not only was there jealousy involved, but Tamara wanted answers that she wasn't getting. Hell, she wanted in. It was obviously a coveted position, and there were limited spots. She was being denied something, and thus she was doing everything in her power to show her displeasure. It was just unfortunate that she and Vaughn were on two opposite sides in this venture. On the bright side, after Vaughn graduated, it wouldn't be as much of a worry anymore. Oh, Tamara would still be devoted to finding out what RSOR was, but Tamara wouldn't be working directly against Vaughn's wishes. For now? She'd just keep mum about her actions with Anti-RSOR, so long as he kept mum about his own RSOR activities. It was an unspoken deal they had going that was working out well so far. Tamara had done herself up for this date as well. She wore a blouse on the top, along with a short skirt that only went down to her mid-thigh. It was spring, and Tamara had every intent to take advantage of it. She doubted that Vaughn would mind - It was for him, after all. The junior grinned as Vaughn reached over to give her a kiss. She kissed him back, all the while wondering how she let a little fight disrupt this. Then again, it wasn't a little fight at all. However, if Tamara wanted to make this work, she had to push it aside while she was with Vaughn. Tempers might flare otherwise, and Tamara did not want a repeat of what happened in the restaurant. Besides, she wasn't the only Anti-RSOR member dating someone in RSOR. Errol, her best friend (and prior crush) was dating Chess. While their goal was important, Tamara also wanted Vaughn as her boyfriend, moreso than she wanted to find out about RSOR. Tamara proceeded to start her car, then looked over at Vaughn at his next question. "I was waiting for you to decide." Tamara grinned. "Do you have anything special in mind? I was thinking about horseback riding, actually." It was something that Tamara hadn't tried before, and it sounded interesting. Of course, Tamara wasn't entirely dressed right for the part, but she was currently unaware of this tidbit... Word count: To: Beth/Vaughn Notes:
