i may be disturbed, but won’t you concede, even heroes have the right to dream… MICAH SIMMONS ==================================== Micah’s eyes roamed around the quiet room. The library was one of his favourite places in the school. Mostly because there was nowhere better to read a good comic book. He refused to read them outside, for fear of damage to them, be it dirt, grime, water or any other means of filth. Hell, he wore gloves even when he was reading them inside, not wanting the grease from his fingers on the pages.
Okay, yes, Micah was a nerd and quite an extensive one. The gloves he was wearing we’re latex throw away gloves, and he only ever used them once. His comic books were tucked in particular sleeves and arranged according to release date and topic; Batmans with Batmans and Supermans with Supermans with the Super Girls nearby. He kept his merchandise sorted based on what it was, what the topic was, and any other necessary and appropriately related sorting device; alphabetizing, numerical, monetary value, personal value, etc.
He hadn’t always been that anal, naturally, but this was one of his things. Just like the 3DS, PSP and Gameboy Pocket in his back pack was his thing. Like the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 was his thing. Micah had lots of things, but most of them were a huge part of nerd culture. And that may have been why as of yet, he hadn’t really made friends at Riverdale. He had spoken to many people, and Micah was a friendly guy, but he was also quiet. So time would tell just how well he would fit in here.
The reason Micah was here was still a bit of a mystery in ways. Micah was from New York, and his parents had just decided he was going here. He had no idea why he was here. But nothing had changed except his freedom. His marks were still crappy and he couldn’t be bothered with school, and his intelligence was still far more than anyone would expect of someone his age. He just didn’t use it in the desired manner.
He looked back down at his comic book. He was sitting in a large, comfortable chair in the sitting area of the Library. The comic book was an older issue of batman, and the case for it was next to him on the arm of the chair as he flipped pages with the latex gloves. The Library had next to no one here for the moment, probably because it was after school hours and everyone was out enjoying themselves. Micah didn’t care. He was plenty entertained with the book in front of him. Though a little company never killed anyone…

"When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over, When everything is out, you gotta take it in," Archer was currently on his way to the one place that he tended to hang out the most: the library. Honestly, it was quite a nice place, very quiet, and he knew the layout fairly well. The librarian had been kind enough to show him where the Braille books were kept (not like there were that many at all, and he’d probably finish them all by the end of the month), and so he held one of them tucked under his arm, the other hand, his right, occupied with tapping his cane in front of him. Sure, he wouldn’t run into a wall or something, at least, hopefully not, but he definitely did not want to run into someone. If he fell too hard, well, his glasses could break!
Resisting the urge to adjust the pair perched on his nose, not that they did anything, the reincarnate of the blind poet Homer tapped his way into the library, carefully avoiding what felt like a chair. Someone had forgotten to push it in, it seemed, and had he not hit it with his cane, well… He’d have been taking a nasty tumble. Dismissing that, Archer made his way to his favorite chair, but, before he could get too close, his cane tapped against what felt like a foot. And, now that he listened, he could hear some breathing… ”Ah, sorry!” he told the person, whoever it was, tapping his way over to the next chair over. ”I didn’t realize someone was sitting there.” Hopefully they wouldn’t take offense to the fact he tapped them… People could get angry over petty things.
Sitting down in the slightly less comfortable and familiar chair (though it was pretty much the same), and leaning his cane up against it, Archer opened his book, his fingers skimming the top of it to find where he had placed the piece of paper he used for his bookmark. ”I’m Archer, Archer Clark,” he told the other, having successfully found his page, and began skimming over the Braille dots with his fingers, trying to find his exact place. ”You are?” He would’ve offered his hand to shake, but he really didn’t want to look stupid and hold his hand out in the wrong direction, or something. No, he was fine without embarrassing himself further.
Ah, there was his spot! Having found where he left off, Archer turned his sightless eyes in the general direction of the chair where the other person was sitting, hoping that he was looking at him. Ah, well, it did not matter. He was trying, wasn’t he? Hopefully, that would be good enough, as he really couldn’t do anything more… ~~~~~~

i may be disturbed, but won’t you concede, even heroes have the right to dream… MICAH SIMMONS ==================================== Micah was so immersed in his comic that he had no idea the other kid approaching him was blind. He did notice someone was there at least, seeing as he could use his peripherals but also something just alerted him that someone was there, that same sense that tingled when someone was watching you to be honest. As a result, he didn’t think to move or even shift around at all, as it wasn’t often you met a blind student at your school.
After having his foot tapped, Micah finally diverted his attention from the comic to the person he had felt/seen coming. His eyes moved up, not really upset or even concerned about a small tap to his foot. Though, he did become rather intrigued when he noticed the glasses on the other boy and the walking stick (Micah has an issue with calling them canes cause he thinks canes are more for older people). Micah smiled, though the other person couldn’t see the smile, he was sure that smiles could be heard.
”It’s alright. It was just a tap!”
Micah said. He was so curious and almost wanted to ask a few more questions, but decided that it would be rude to ask a total stranger about things like how he went blind, and whether there was any truth to Daredevil and idea of how he operated. Micah tried to curb his interest in comic books away from his interest in the blind boy, seeing as he was pretty sure Daredevil wasn’t someone the blind boy knew much about. He’d ask later maybe, and explain what Daredevil was like if the boy didn’t know. Seeing the book, Micah tried not to express his interest, but his head raised up a bit as he tried to look around the cover of the book and see the pages themselves. A blind person reading was very interesting to Micah and he had a harder time hiding that fact than he’d have liked. But the blind boy couldn’t see him anyways, right? His head snapped back down and he sat back again, when the boy spoke again. ”I am Micah Simmons. Well, actually my first name is Ethan, but I prefer Micah,” He said, introducing himself in turn. Micah was already starting to shift back upward to try and see the pages of the book. ”What are you reading? And how are you reading it…? Is it braille?” Micah asked absently, not really considering the offense that could have been taken from the comment. He was curious and he was also trying to think of how the other boy could enjoy comic books. And video games! Could the other boy play video games!?! Life would be awful without video games!! ”Is it any good?” He asked. He almost asked if there were any good pictures and caught himself, realizing that would be a very stupid question indeed. Micah was by no means stupid and in fact was a legal genius if he’d just do his homework and actually apply himself. His interests remained a constant distraction however, and his parents had despaired and sent him here with the hope that he would find some motivation for himself so they could stop bribing their child to do his homework. So far, there had been no success. ”I am reading Batman…” He added, as if that explained his questions or even simply why he was in the library. It at least explained the latter, which was a start. "When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over, When everything is out, you gotta take it in," Ah, good, the other boy, as he had determined his gender by the voice, didn’t seem bugged by it. Smiling at that, because the other seemed quite pleased, rather than irritated, Archer was quite pleased that the other didn’t immediately begin spouting off questions or comments on his blindness. Sure, he was quite used to it, after this life and the lifetime before it, but it was still rather annoying that the first thing people tended to do was ask how he got blind, or things like that. Still, better than being asked if he was cursed by the gods, as he was asked back in Greek. That was always a bit of a bummer question.
Oh, he had a nickname? “It’s nice to meet you, Micah. I go by my middle name, Homer, sometimes, so you can call me that if you’d like.” It was honestly rather nice to be called by his former name, but sometimes that resulted in jokes about a television show called ‘The Simpsons’. If Micah began cracking jokes related to that, he’d have to politely ask the other to call him Archer, instead. It was not worth the jokes, definitely, and he actually did like his name from this life.
Skimming his fingertips over the raised dots of his book, Archer read, only paying half attention to the story that he had actually read before, and chuckling lightly as Micah fired off a few questions at him. Well, they weren’t about him being blind, they were more curiosity over what he was doing, so there was no offense taken. “I’m reading ‘The Reptile Room’ by Lemony Snicket,” he told the other, smiling. “Have you heard of it?” Most people had, and, if not knowing the book exactly, had heard of the series. It was quite popular, which is why they had it in Braille.
Nodding at the other question, Archer held his book up, displaying the pages of raised dots (hopefully) for the other to see. “I just run my fingers over the dots, and I can read it. It takes quite a bit of practice, though.” The poet, the teacher in him wanted to offer to teach the other, always wanting to spread knowledge, but he deemed it too early. Maybe if they ran into each other again, and he was still interested… Or he asked. He’d never turn him down.
The next question made him chuckle again. “Would I be reading it if it wasn’t?” he asked rhetorically, before he actually answered the question. “This is actually my second time reading it. The library doesn’t have much in the selection of Braille books, I’m afraid.” He’d probably have to ask his mom to order some for him. Or get someone to help him on the computer so that he could. Something like that.
Batman? The reincarnate frowned briefly. “That’s… a comic, right?” At least, that was what he had taken from what the kids at his school had said that he picked up on, from time to time. “Is it good? Is it really pictures with words? How on earth do you read that?” he asked, curiosity overcoming him, before he retreated with a slight blush. “Sorry…” It was just something he couldn’t visualize, honestly, the same way he didn’t understand colors, or sunsets, or things like that. Still, if Micah would describe it to him… That’d be pretty cool. ~~~~~~

i may be disturbed, but won’t you concede, even heroes have the right to dream… MICAH SIMMONS ==================================== Micah smiled at the nickname that was given to him. Instead of associating it with Homer Simpson he associated it with Homer as a Greek writer. See, Micah was huge on comic books. And some comic books in particular put focus on the very stories that were told by Homer in his writing. Marvel even released comics with the exact story, illustrating it to anyone who wanted to read it. So of course, if Micah picked up a comic book based on something else, he found what it was related to and read that as well out of habit. He was as nerdy as they came and understanding the comic books was important to him. Also, Micah wasn’t huge on TV unless it was anime or the occasional cartoon. The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, etc were just not his thing, though occasionally some of his friends sent him some funny episodes of South Park relating into nerdy topics…like the World of Warcraft one…or the Lord of the Rings episode.
”Homer? Okay. Well do you prefer Archer or Homer? Cause I can call you whichever one you’d like,”
Micah asked, not wanting to choose himself. Of course, once he started to call someone one name, it tended to stick that way. It was hard for him to swap names after calling someone one name for a while. It was part of his compulsion. He had particular ways of organizing everything, from his cellphone to his comic books. That meant even his contacts were organized meticulously and if he had to change the name all the time on a contact that would get confusing. Not that they were really at that point. But it was always something for Micah to consider when making new friends. Micah made note of the title and to check it out later just so he could know just what the other boy was reading. ”Not at all! I will check it out later. But I have heard of Lemony Snicket.” Micah explained. He meant check it out as in out of the library in the way he said it. ”Is it one of the books from a Series of Unfortunate Events? I saw the movie. It was alright. A friend told me to read the books but I never got around to it.” Micah explained. He wasn’t so sure whether Lemony Snicket was really known for anything else truth be told. Micah looked closely at the dots, trying to discern a pattern or at least work out what combination was what letter. Naturally, this wasn’t going to work without some knowledge of what each of the words were. But he tried to locate three letter words and single letter words. By finding a single letter he knew it must be an “I” or an “A”. If he located a three letter word with one of the two symbols he could tell which was I and which was A. From there he then knew “N” and “D”. The other most occurring three letter word was likely be “The” and therefore he could also distinguish “T” “H” and “E” and that was enough to start decoding the rest of the book too. Micah was a natural intellect so he picked this out quickly but stopped at “E”. The boy wasn’t going to hold up the book forever of course. Micah also would have had one hell of a time figuring out the punctuation. Though it was rare for The or And to be followed by any punctuation at all. It’s a brilliant method. At least it gives you a chance to read! Though, doesn’t it get boring without pictures—“ Micah caught himself and paused, ”I guess pictures would only matter if you hadn’t been blind your whole life. Were you ever able to see if you don’t mind me asking…” Micah tacked on, replacing his initial question, as he now found it irrelevant. He didn’t care about how the boy got to be blind, and found that was much too personal a question for a stranger to ask. So instead he just wanted to know if the boy had always been blind. He decided it was a good idea to specify why. ”I am just wondering so I can better understand how I need to explain things. If you had seen before than you would understand colours, even if you don’t see them anymore. If you haven’t then I know that describing things using colours is pointless and using other descriptive words would make a lot more sense. Like if I were to describe the Triforce from Zelda, I would usually say it is three gold triangles. I am sure you could easily understand what a triangle is as it can be explained in a sense of the shape it takes and it can be shown to you through touch, but saying it is gold is no longer relevant because you don’t know what the colour looks like anyways and there is no way for me to show you the colour,” Micah explained, hoping he didn’t come across as rude. Micah smiled at the question bounced back at him, following his own question. ”We should talk to them and see about getting more of them…I can talk to my parents if you like and see if they can donate some money to the library for some,” Micah offered. ”If there are blind students at a school it should have plenty of books for them just like they do for those who can see…” Micah added. He understood what it was like to have to go without something you enjoy and wanted to help in any way he could. For Micah, going without comics or video games or wanting the latest game and not having the money was a horrible feeling. He couldn’t imagine not having all that, let alone having to read the same small selection over and over because there was nothing else. Micah grinned from ear to ear when the boy knew Batman was a comic book. ”Yeah! I love comic books. The pictures keep me interested more than walls of words do…” Micah said as if that explained everything about why comic books were awesome. Naturally he had more to argue that case but he kept it at that for now. ”I like Batman. He’s this dark guy with a cape and pointed ears on his mask. He talks in a deep voice when he is in costume… changing his voice to make it deeper and more batman like he continued to add ”Like this! and then kept going normally again. ”He fights evil villains who plague Gotham City…it’s where he was born of course. And he has this awesome butler named Alfred. And he uses technology to protect his city, unlike the other super heroes who all use super powers. Well, Iron man doesn’t—he’s also just rich and using technology. But we can talk about him some other time…And there’s also Batgirl and Batwoman and Blackwing..and—Well I guess there are a lot of them, but I really like Batman,” Micah said, finishing off what he was saying. And yes, Comics are pictures and words. It’s like if people talked and there was a big circle above their head with letters in it. Think...pages of your book, but only what people say being above their heads. And occasionally what they think. And sometimes things like a change of day, or small tid bit of narration. They are all different though because the words are different. So think the size of the dots being different and sometimes the dots being straight edged instead of round. So that way you can tell the difference between which writing is spoken, thought and narrated.” Micah explained, not trying to belittle Archer but to inform him in a way he could certainly understand. ”You get all the actions from looking at the pictures,” he added. Micah looked surprised when Archer apologized for asking a question. Obviously Archer couldn’t see that but all the same… ”Don’t apologize. I asked questions too!” Micah added.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Open •• •• Words •1335 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Superman" by Five for Fighting ••

"When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over, When everything is out, you gotta take it in," Archer blinked, honestly surprised by the question. Most people just picked one, so he never really got to tell anyone… “I prefer Archer, honestly, but it really doesn’t matter,” he told the other, smiling slightly. As much as he enjoyed being called his former name, he didn’t want anyone to be able to draw too many connections between him and his former incarnation, plus it just felt weird, hearing his name from the lips of people who didn’t even realize the connection. There was always the fact, as well, that he had to keep himself grounded. He wasn’t Homer, at least not now, so it wouldn’t do for him to think about himself like that.
Nodding at the question, Archer replied in the positive. “Yes, it’s the second one, actually!” he told the boy, slightly surprised that there had been a movie made. He never knew that… Though he definitely wasn’t on top of things that he couldn’t do, as really, he didn’t see the point. “You definitely should read them, they’re very good! I mean, it’s proof enough because I’m reading them again…” Though he did tend to favor the classics, tragedies were definitely among his favorites, and this was, obviously, a bit of a comedic tragedy. Very good, and among his favorites.
Resettling his book on his lap as Micah spouted off praise for Braille, the poet found himself smiling. He rather liked this kid! Well, technically they were either the same age or the other was older, but considering he could remember his first lifetime, well… That definitely switched things up a bit on their ages. Blinking at the question, Archer answered the question, slightly bemused. “I’ve been blind my whole life, so no, I’m used to having no pictures,” he told the inquisitive boy, unused to having the question asked of him. Most people assumed he was quite touchy about the subject, though he definitely wasn’t, simply through the fact that he was majorly used to it.
A small frown found itself onto his face as the other commenced into a ramble, spouting several unfamiliar names/words, whichever they were. “Triforce? Zelda?” he repeated, confused, not really questioning, but, more, sounding out the word. They weren’t recognizable… Ah well. Nodding at the reasonable explanation from Micah, Archer regained his slight smile, offering up his comment. “Well, colors won’t help much. All I know is black,” he told the other, semi-self-deprecatingly. Colors sounded interesting, but you couldn’t have it all.
Surprised at the boy’s offer, Archer could only blink in shock, before smiling. “That would be wonderful! It’d be great if we could get some more books here! I mean, I can’t be the first blind student, and I won’t be the last…” It would definitely be awesome if they could get more! And though the boy definitely agreed with Micah’s reasoning, it was troublesome for a library to have a lot of books of that type, simply for one blind student. True, there were curious kids who might want to learn to read Braille, and as he had said, he couldn’t be the only kid who would go here and needed them. But Micah’s family must have quite a bit of money, or be very involved in the school in order for him to be able to throw that suggestion out so casually… But that was not the kind of thing one questioned another on, especially when they had just met.
Pictures were more entertaining than words? Having never seen a picture, Archer could definitely not argue the point, but he did imagine that it would be. Instead of lots and lots of words used to describe something, you could just look at it, and understand. It would be quicker, and he could ‘see’ Micah’s point. Trying to picture Batman in his head, on the other hand, was definitely something he could not do. Dark, he could do. Everything else… Not so much. The only other part he could imagine was the pointed ears, though why someone would want to have pointy ears on a mask befuddled him. The whole thing in general did, but he would definitely not say that. Archer chuckled lightly at Micah’s imitation of Batman’s voice, though a thought did occur to him. “How do you know what he sounds like, if you just read his words?” the poet asked curiously. He understood having ‘voices’ for the characters you read (or write), as he often did that, but Micah sounded as if it were the official voice. Hmm…
Taking in all the information, Archer grinned slightly in Micah’s direction. “That sounds really cool, honestly,” he told the other, completely honest. It was a far cry from the tales he had written and were used to, but it definitely sounded intriguing, though it would be very hard for him to understand, considering that a majority of the information given was in a way he couldn’t get it. Tilting his head to the side, he brought up a question contemplatively. “Do they have novelizations of the comics? Or have them in Radio form? I’d love to be able to read them…” The former was probably more likely, if Batman was a recent comic (he honestly wasn’t sure how old it was), but if it had been around in, say, the 1930s, it was likely that they would’ve had radio broadcasts of it, as they often did in that time period. The blind boy was quite fond of them, honestly, and it would be quite intriguing to lay his hands on them… That is, if they existed. He wasn’t quite sure.
For a moment, the poet considered asking Micah about the other names he had mentioned, about Nightwing, Batwoman, Iron Man… But decided against it. However interesting it had been to hear the other go off about Batman, as it really was quite obvious that he liked it, Archer didn’t want to hear a similar itinerary spouted off about each individual. Perhaps another time? It would give them something to talk about.
Furrowing his brow as he tried to make heads or tails of what exactly Micah was saying, the boy put it together piece by piece. So there was emphasis, and the dialogue and background effects, as well as scenic changes and stuff? “Hm… I think I understand it,” Archer responded slowly. It was sort of hard for him to, well, picture, considering he’d never seen a single thing in his life, but he grasped the basics of it, enough for him to satisfy his curiosity. It was quite interesting, honestly, hearing about the sort of things that many people took for granted at understanding, yet he would probably never truly get. Quite the scientific study, though he was a man boy more of literary-minded pursuits. Comics could maybe count as literature, though, if one stretched the definition…
Smiling at Micah’s response to his slight embarrassment, the poet spoke up once more, shrugging lightly. “I guess we’re both sort of curious people, then.” That was completely fine with him; Archer was definitely okay with answering questions, unless they were really stupid ones (though he’d probably answer them anyway), and he loved it when people were willing to answer his. He was an intellectual, what could he say?

i may be disturbed, but won’t you concede, even heroes have the right to dream… MICAH SIMMONS ==================================== Micah smiled and nodded. ”Okay. Archer it is then.”
Micah said with a nod. He knew he preferred Micah but that was because he hated the name Ethan. He was sure that hatred was more from the fact that only his Grandma used Ethan and he didn’t like her very much. She had old fashioned views to the point where her TV had no channels and he lacked even a DVD player. Talk about an old fashioned woman. Micah made a note to read the books later but it seemed unlikely to happen if anyone who knew Micah well enough were to hear those thoughts. Micah wasn’t huge on novels compared to comics and graphic novels. He would rather play video games or read what he had been reading than pick up a novel again. He could read with ease when he wanted to but those books seemed like something better displayed in a game format. Maybe they did have a game!! He would look into it. ”I’ll see if I can find them and read them then. I will try to find some time for them.” The way he suggested he needed time for them almost implied he was busy. Micah was such a slacker academically he had plenty of personal time. Micah nodded and considered a moment how he could explain things more thoroughly and decided on another method. ”Okay! So no colours. I’ll do my best to explain things more clearly for you, just let me know if I sound confusing or need to rephrase something.” Micah offered. ”I haven’t had to explain things to someone who is blind before. This could be interesting,” Micah said in an tone that suggested he was very interested in giving this a try. Micah paused when he realized that the boy didn’t know about Zelda. ”Oh! Zelda is a video game. There is this kid named Link and…well the story changes from game to game but ultimately he has to save Hyrule and princess Zelda from the evil Gannon! The Triforce is a powerful object that has different meaning in different games but it always represents the three sides of the triangle; courage, wisdom and power. Traditionally one is held by each of the three main characters. Princess Zelda has Wisdom, Gannon has Power and you, in other words Link, has Courage.” Micah offered as explanation. He tried to keep it brief seeing as Zelda was such a broad game series with so many varying plots and ideas. Micah nodded, ”I will give my mom a call later then! Hopefully we can get you some new reading material.” Micah added with a wide grin. Micah’s parents actually were not that wealthy. They were moderate and made decent money but not phenomenal money. His parents did however want Micah to get some work done and get an education. He could trade them that for the books at the library he hoped. If not he’d see who else might be willing to pool and try and get some for the library. He just hoped he could manage it. He was sure at the very least he could build something that he could sell enough of to make the money. He just wanted things to be fair for Archer as much as for everyone else. Micah paused to consider a moment. He had never thought about the whole voice thing too completely but he figured it was the animated series that started it. ”Well they made a TV show of it. And then there were movies. You should come listen to them sometime. I can explain what is going on when it doesn’t already tell you. That way you can maybe understand Batman a bit better?” Micah offered. He wasn’t sure how well that would work but it felt right to offer. ”I know there are novels. I can see if they come on tape. In fact if they do I want them that way too! So I’ll get them and let you borrow them! That way you can be in on the awesomeness! I know Spiderman has novels too, let me look into audio tapes of him too.” Micah offered. He was sort of happy to have made a friend he could get into nerdy things. It was like an adventure in itself. In fact, Archer actually sounded quite interesting which in itself pleased Micah. He really wanted to share the comic book world with Archer. Micah smiled. ”If I need to explain it differently let me know and I’ll try to figure out how else to explain.” Micah offered. He really did want Archer to understand. He was surprised at how much he wanted archer to understand truth be told. Micah nodded in agreement and realized that Archer wouldn’t notice the nod. ”Yup! I think so.” Micah agreed. He was curious and Archer was mysterious in ways to Micah. He wanted to know more. But right now he wasn’t sure what else to ask. "When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over, When everything is out, you gotta take it in," Part of him felt slightly regretful and disappointed as the other agreed to call him Archer, but he quashed that part immediately. After all, he had said that was what the other was to call him, so there was no reason to regret it, even if his former name had been his for a much, much longer time. Archer was a good name, anyway, it would’ve have been too out of place back in Greece. Maybe not fitting in a hundred percent, still being one of those kind of odd names, but it would have been kind of reasonable. ‘Least he got blessed with that.
Micah’s words made Archer smile ruefully in agreement. “Yeah, sometimes it’s really hard to find time, huh?” Between him doing his on-going project of trying to dig up all actually recorded facts about himself, to see how much the world had right and had wrong, working on his next poetry book, and, of course, school, it was hard to find free time to do anything, so this was actually some of his valuable reading time. Ah well, Micah was fun to talk to, so it wasn’t like he was wasting time or anything. “They’re worth the time, though…” Obviously, considering he was reading this one for the second time, though Archer definitely preferred the earlier books in the series. The final ones didn’t appeal to him all that much, though he had read them. They were just… The heroes had become a far cry from the ones in his sagas.
“Will do,” Archer told the other, chuckling inside. Ah, he was quite like Glaucus… It made him wonder, if ever so briefly, that the other was his guide, reincarnated, but quickly dismissed the thought. No, for all his enthusiasm, Micah was very different from Glaucus. His young friend would’ve likely freaked out when he was approached, and tried to help Archer. No, but he could have wishful thinking, right? “Well, it’s always fun for me, hearing people try to describe things.” From those in his previous life, to his mother, to his aunt, to kids at school… Everyone had a different perspective on what they saw, and it was quite interesting to listen to. You could learn much about one’s personality just by listening to them try to describe things.
His mouth forming an ‘o’ of comprehension, the poet ran over the idea in his head, liking it and smiling. “Sounds kind of like one of the epic tales of old, especially with the symbolism.” Not quite the same, of course, but similar enough that it sounded interesting. A hero, a princess, and a villain, all attributed to different signs and symbols, a long battle… Ah yes, very fun. “I’ve heard of Hyrule before, though, if it’s spelled H-y-r-u-l-e.” he offered up, his smile turning bemused at the memory. “My computer wasn’t sure how to pronounce the word and spelled it for me instead.” It was funny what one could come across, just looking for things on Google.
An appreciative smile found its way onto his face as Micah spoke. “Thank you, that’d be fantastic,” he told the other, and had Archer been the kind to express his feelings with gestures and such, he probably would’ve clapped in excitement. As it was, he settled for a smile, his fingers curling up over his book for a moment, rendering the dots unreadable to him, before he settled, smoothing out his fingers.
The offer surprised him, though, and the poet blinked in surprise. Huh. While just talking, and even the offer of books, hadn’t been something that would put the other boy out of his way to help, this would, spending time with Archer to explain it. Micah was just really nice, wasn’t he? His smiled grew, and he nodded. “Sounds good! I’d love to do that!” It would be a bit hard for him to understand, even if the other was really good at describing things, but he could put forth the effort and try, right? Besides, it did sound interesting…
Micah’s exuberance about the thought of audio tapes was quite funny, though, and Archer chuckled lightly. “I’d love to listen to them,” he told the other, and then furrowed his brow, thinking on the other super hero. “Spiderman’s a comic too, right? I know there’s movies, but aren’t they based off the comic?” He wasn’t a hundred percent positive, but he knew Spiderman better than he knew Batman. The former he had known had movies, while he hadn’t for the latter. Then again, that was more a case of his Aunt liking the Spiderman movies than anything else.
At the offer, Archer tapped his book lightly, pursing his lips for a moment before he denied the offer. “Nah, I think I understand as much as I possibly can,” he told the other. For one who had never ever had visual aids, he felt he had a pretty good grasp on it, and even though he couldn’t picture it, he understood the mechanics, and that was all he really wanted. The other boy’s agreement with his statement made a wry smile appear on his face, but other than that, he didn’t respond to the statement, finding it concluded. Then again, it could’ve just been his lack of social skills talking. There was a reason he spent a lot of time in the library.

i may be disturbed, but won’t you concede, even heroes have the right to dream… MICAH SIMMONS ==================================== Micah failed to notice the disappointment on Archer’s part when Micah went with Archer as the name for him. He assumed since the other had decided on it that it was his preference. Naturally that meant he glossed over the fact that Archer seemed a bit taken back by it but that wasn’t something Micah was going to ask about even if he had noticed.
Micah nodded his agreement. ”One moment I am busting my butt off on some project and the next the hours have flown by and I can’t remember where all the time went. Time is a tricky thing with perspective being the only constant. And that constant is that perspective and individual events automatically change the perspective of passage of time, making time something you can’t rely on to be long or even short when you need it to be!”
Micah added with a grin. When he used the word Project he meant something he was constructing or a game naturally. But project was a general term that was essentially the equivalent of saying plans when one considered the literal meaning of the word. ”I will try my best to make time for them then.” Micah added, noting he would actually have to keep up that agreement now. Oh well, it wasn’t like it took him long to read anything. Micah grinned from ear to ear when Archer mentioned it was fun for him to hear the descriptions people used. ”I imagine it is. People have different vocabularies and different ideas on how best to describe things. I guess you could also get two people to describe the same thing and get something different from both of them. Or at least logically it should work that way. I can’t say I’ve the experience to know.” Micah added with his wide grin remaining firmly in place. Micah considered Archer’s take on Zelda and found himself nodding. ”Yeah, I guess it is…It does share some linear connections.” He agreed. Even though the topic was quite serious in Micah’s books he found himself chuckling. ”Indeed it is spelt like that. Hyrule confused your text to voice command program? That’s amusing! What the heck were you Googling?!” Micah laughed. Micah nodded, and once again caught himself. ”Not a problem at all!” Micah replied. He really did feel that everyone deserved the chance to read whatever their hearts desired. It shouldn’t matter if you are blind or not. They needed more braille books AND more audio books. Micah would talk to his parents about both he decided. Micah found himself smiling fully when the other seemed interested in his offer. Yes! He would convert yet another to the wonders of Batman!! It would be nice to have someone else to talk to about his comic books and shows. Even if he had to work to explain them all. That was alright in Micah’s books. ”Awesome! Well, let me know if you got free time and I’ll see when I am free. Sound good?” He added happily. He loved this idea, and it got him a friend to spend some time with. That was hardly something to overlook. Micah was really excited to hear the other ask more about Spiderman as well. ”Yes! It is! Spiderman is originally a comic and he’s one of the most universally popular superheroes. There are comics, animated series, novels, video games, the whole shaabam!” Micah offered with excitement in his tone. He loved all of those things and it was hard to keep his passion for them from showing.
