Feel it, breath it, believe it And you'll be walking on air
Go try, go fly, so high And you'll be walking on air Skylar was one of those people who could care less what most people thought. The opinion that mattered to him was his own, and thus what others thought was not something he usually cared about. He didn’t want Alison to get stuck in a terrible situation though, and so he was thinking about how the anti-RSOR would react to seeing them. There were certain facts that they would choose to ignore and suspect something else if she didn’t say she was bothering him about the secret organization. What could he tell her though? Seemed her thoughts were on the same path as his and he pondered that for a few moments while sticking pieces together. ”That could be an interesting idea, but we would have to think up something to send them off on. Any ideas? he asked her with a raised eyebrow. He was, admittedly, not always the most creative individual on the planet. Thinking up something on the spot would be obvious that she was doing so, and so it was probably better if they planned it out. It could be ridiculous, but it couldn’t be too ridiculous otherwise they would think she was an idiot for believing it in the first place, and seeing as Alison was obviously not, that wouldn’t work very well.
Hearing her next response he shrugged. ”No, you look like the sister who listens in on quite a few of their conversations.” he noted back. Hey, he wasn’t wrong on that aspect. ”I’m sorry you had to deal with that, I feel like that would be the most boring conversation to have to hear for weeks on end, and hey it was worth a shot. Though it would be funny if I ended up figuring out where it failed and fixed it.” he said with a bit of a chuckle. Sure it might not happen, but he would do his best to make it at least work. Though then they might be a little confused as to what he did and have to call him to ask, but anyway that was fine. When she stated about labeling parts he shrugged. ”Will save me the time it would take me to figure out where they go, so could save us time.” he said simply. He nodded to her saying that she could start on the tail. Worked for him, and just so long as she let him concentrate on the mechanics there would not be catastrophic failure of any sort hopefully.
About an hour later Skylar had the plane completed and was curious as to if it would fly. He had made sure to tighten all the screws so that falling apart would not be an issue this time. ”Do we want to test to see if it will fly or do you not want to risk it?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. Hey, that was her call being that he wasn’t going to test it if she wanted to just take it back and pretend nothing happened.

It was difficult to think up something on the spot. However, she figured it would be easier if they both put their heads together to try to come up with something. "Well, I told Errol ages ago that I overheard my brother talking about a committee. It definitely had them talking, and they don't think it's the leader's panel. So maybe we can go with something based on that?" Thinking, she then added. "Can't be anything too obvious, though. Worse comes to worse I could always play it off that I bugged you and you wouldn't budge." Regardless, she knew that she had to do something if Anti-RSOR saw her with Skylar. Hopefully both she and Skylar would have some time to think on that, though. It didn't even necessarily need to be her and Skylar. She could always send a text or message to one of the other members of the leader's panel. Skylar just seemed like her best bet, since they would be spending the next hour or so together to work on fixing this model plane. Alison grinned. "You got me on that one." She did overhear a lot of their conversations...but that didn't necessarily mean that she understood the vast majority of them. Regardless, she did know more about the subject than most girls her age, that went without saying. She was no expert, though, and she didn't want Skylar to think that she was. She might have been related to them (and still was, to Nate at least), but she wasn't them. Alison shook her head with a bit of a smile. "Well, at first I found it interesting. I would actually hurry home from teaching to listen to them discuss it. Then...it just dragged on too long." She made a face. While it was most certainly interesting to hear her brothers talk about their newfangled invention, and try to make sense of what they were saying...it also grew tedious by around the end of the second week. The freshman had every intent of letting Skylar work on the mechanics. She wasn't about to touch those, not after what had already happened. She would just focus on structural matters. She should be pretty safe with those, especially since she could still picture the fully constructed model in her head. She just hoped that she would get everything (w)right. Once an hour or so passed and Skylar was finished with the plane, Alison beamed. They were home free! She looked it over, trying to see if there was anything glaringly out of place. Orville and Wilbur might still notice something was off, but they would be less likely to if everything was in it's rightful place on the model. She looked over to Skylar at his question, biting her lip. "I think we'll keep it grounded for now. Last thing I want is for the thing to fall apart in the air again. We wouldn't have the time for you to fix it again." No, she'd rather take the risk with what they had. Oliver and Nate were still making improvements on the thing, so it wasn't like they would be testing it straight away. She shot Skylar a smile of gratitude. Feel it, breath it, believe it And you'll be walking on air
Go try, go fly, so high And you'll be walking on air Skylar pondered what Alison was saying. ”A committee? Yes, we have a secret committee composed of members that come up with...hmm what can this committee be in charge of? Taking over the world, or do you think that is too ridiculous?” he mused with a grin. Hey, it was Skylar and he wasn’t exactly known for coming up with things like this. That was usually not in his job description. Sure he could be creative at times, but at other times he just had nothing. ”Me not budging works too. My sister didn’t even have a clue I was a reincarnate until I signed the paper as Thomas Edison.” he said with a smile. It was the truth, and she had certainly given him hell for it. Apparently secrets like that you were supposed to share with siblings, seeing as he knew she was reincarnated after all, but still he didn’t want to mention it. Thus he just dealt with the consequences later like he always did. He wasn’t exactly the type of person to walk into such things when he knew they wouldn’t be the greatest ending. He rather liked avoiding until he had to go after it, and sure it was usually worse by that point, but hey he liked putting things off at times.
Then Alison admitted that he got her on that one. Well, she was definitely the sister that listened to her brother’s conversations, but he supposed she didn’t understand most of it. Honestly he had seen the stares when he tried to explain something mechanical to a few people. Unless you had messed with that sort of thing, typically you had no idea how to figure it out. Ah well, he thought that she might have at some point, but apparently it wasn’t enough to know how the mechanics of a toy plane worked. Fine with him though being that it meant he could build it how he thought it went without being corrected. Sure that meant that it could be completely different from how they built it and thus would be a dead give-away, but he was doing the best he could with what he had. Then Alison surprised him by saying she rather enjoyed listening to them talk about propellers. That was odd, but then again maybe it was just genetic, and then she stated it just seemed to drag on too long. ”I can’t imagine why it took such a length of time to discuss something such as a propeller.” he noted with a shrug.
Then about an hour passed and they were done with the plane. Good, they still had plenty of time too for her to sneak it back into their room and pretend nothing happened. They might suspect it, but they possibly couldn’t prove anything if it was done correctly. He then proceeded to ask her if she wanted to send it on a test flight, and it seemed she was content with it just staying on the ground in case it fell apart again. ”Well, then I suppose that is it. Here is the plane, good luck sneaking it back into their room.” he said with a smile while he handed her the plane and the remote that went with it.

When Alison heard Skylar's initial suggestion, her eyebrow went up at least a half an inch. "I think it's a little too ridiculous, yes." Amusing, though, as evidenced by the grin that Alison was sporting. Yeah, she didn't think they'd buy that one - She certainly wouldn't if she were in their shoes, and she was supposed to be pretending that she was indeed in their shoes. She'd either have to wing something, or just say that Skylar blew her off when she asked the question. At least she had something of a plan. Alison chuckled at Skylar's next revelation. "That one's not that surprising to me. From what I hear, it's pretty par for the course. I didn't know my brother was...well, my brother until Orville made us introduce ourselves right after I was admitted into the RSOR." What a night that had been. Not only was she inducted into RSOR by Isa, finding out that there were others like her, but she'd been taken to meet Oliver soon after, and then taken by Oliver back to his dorm to meet her own brother in a new light. Definitely one of the best days of her current life. To say Alison was used to hearing such discussions as the one about propellers would be an understatement. "I think they were stuck on something and trying to work it out. I was, and still am, pretty used to their debates anyway. I grew up with them the first time around, remember?" She indicated with a smirk. "Add that to the fact that both my past and current mother were quite into mechanics, and the fact that our grandfather in the past built wagons...yeah, I've heard a lot." Apparently she'd been graced with a mechanical family in both lives, though she was never all that mechanical herself. Clearly she'd taken after her father in both lives. That didn't mean she wasn't still interested in hearing what they had to say. But over a month? That was pushing the limits. Alison smiled when Skylar handed her the fixed plane. She still wasn't sure that it was perfect, but it was certainly better than the pile of parts that it was once reduced to. While she wouldn't be surprised if her brothers still noted differences, at least she was more confident now that they wouldn't freak out at her too much. Alison was pleased at the results, and nodded to Skylar. "Thanks for your help. I may live to see another day now." She winked, clearly joking, before heading toward the door. She could only hope for the best in this case. Word count: 468 To: Skylar/Cal Notes: Yep
