LILY DIANE COLLINS
"And I'm still waiting for the rain to fall.
Pour real life down on me.
'Cause I can't hold on to anything this good enough.
Am I good enough for you to love me, too?"

Height: 5' 3"
Weight: 115 lbs
Eye Color: grey-green, though depending on what she's wearing, her eyes can be very green or just grey
Hair Color: very red.
Build: slim and petite
Scars: none
Piercings/Tattoos: her ears are pierced, but that's it.
Personal Style: Lily's style is first and foremost, comfortable. She's never really seen in ridiculously high heels. She prefers flats anyway. Her shirts are usually loose-fitting and she prefers skirts and dresses over pants. She likes playful pastels and whites over something black. Her jewelry is never really flashy. She prefers post earrings over long, dangly ones and her necklaces are usually close to her neck and not long, dangly chains that reach her belly. She doesn't wear a whole lot of makeup. Usually just foundation and a bit of eyeliner and mascara with a soft pink lip. She usually lets her hair hang loose, only pulling it back if she's stressed or attempting to dress up. She hardly wears her glasses outside of her home.
Appearance: Red hair. Long, red hair. Her vibrant hair stands out in a crowd and against her fair skin. Lily's hair is slightly wavy and just reaches her bust. She takes a lot of care of her fiery red locks and spend a lot of time conditioning and brushing it. Her hair is very soft and smooth as a result.
Like most gingers, she doesn't tan. Lily has to put on a lot of sunscreen in order to go outside as she burns very easily. Her skin is smooth and very fair all year round, regardless of the amount of sun she sees. She's also a very slim woman. She has long, delicate fingers perfect for playing piano and she's not very strong, though she is flexible thanks to years of gymnastics. She's not very voluptuous; she has little curves. However, also thanks to years of gymnastics, she has strong legs.
Her eyes are grey-green and quite expressive. She smiles often, but it's her eyes that say how she's really feeling or what she's thinking. At times, they're hidden behind her glasses. Lily carries herself with almost perfect posture. She's short as it is — slouching would make her shorter. And though she stands tall, there are other tell-tale signs about her revealing her shyness and lack for confidence. Her most common habit would be looking at anywhere but the person she should be looking at. She usually looks down, not considering herself worthy to look people in the face.
HOPE AND HORROR
MIXED IN BLOOD
Likes: piano, singing, rain, campfires, books, tea, dresses, shopping, bright/happy colors, kids, being outside, swings, driving with the windows down, naps, being held, candles, long baths, a good massage, poetry, school, paintings, traveling, wine, pie, students with natural talent, people who make her laugh
Dislikes: being compared to her sister, disappointment, dark colors, crying, overly-violent movies, too much noise, guys who are aggressive or very forward when they flirt, rats, rap, red vines (they're gross twizzler knock offs...), being in pictures, getting stage fright, her shyness, whole wheat bread, negativity, clowns
Dreams: having someone love her for her and simply being good enough (hopefully it'll be her family that will appreciate her...but it doesn't seem likely) and to be a mom
Fears: always being the family disappointment, bad areas of riverdale at night, abandonment, coulrophobia, zemmiphobia
Habits/Hobbies: writing music, singing, looking down when she's embarrassed and speaking very quietly, pounding down on the piano keys when she's angry, closing her eyes when she's really into a song she's playing, wears her hair in a ponytail if she's stressed, wears her glasses if it's a bad day
Secret(s): She never received positive reinforcement as a child when it came to music. Everything was always about sports.
Personality: Lily is first and foremost, a people pleaser. She will bend over backwards for a person if she can help them. This is both a strength and a weakness for her. While she'd be willing to do just about anything for her students, it can be easy to take advantage of her and walk all over her. Lily is smart enough to know when she's being walked on, but she doesn't stand up for herself for the sake of being liked and accepted. She will stop at nothing to make someone happy.
In that regard, Lily is a very hard worker. Sure, she had natural musical talent, but her skill would not have improved without years of practice. She's patient and willing (as well as eager) to learn, not only from practicing and exploring on the piano, but through her students. Everyone carries with them something that can teach the world and Lily wants to learn everything she can while she's alive.
Her patience makes her a very easy-going person. Lily's not easily set off at all and when she is angry, she almost never yells. She more of the "glare and say something cold" type rather than "scream a lot". She doesn't often get hyper. She's too shy to act out and get crazy. Her moods are usually in check and very calm. Though there is still a visible difference between her happiness and sadness. Her eyes light up and she can't stop smiling when she's happy. When she's sad, it seems as if everything has been drained from her. But she never vocalizes her emotions. She's just very quiet. Perhaps her quietness can come off as snobbishness, but it's really that she has nothing to say. She's not very good at small talk.
But when she's passionate about something, she's passionate. Lily gives her 100% to everything, especially music. She gets lost in the music and sings and plays with all of her heart. If she gets passionate about a book, she will not put said book down until she has completed it. She's passionate about her job and gives her all to teaching and when she, herself, was a student, she put her all in her homework (some may consider this "over achieving"). When it comes to love, she loves with her heart, body and soul. Everything she does is for her loved one. They come before her.
She's a positive person. While she's not sure what she believes in, she likes to believe that there is a higher power and a divine plan for every person in the world. Though her family isn't that nice to her, she keeps believing that one day they'll see her hard work and appreciate her. She keeps a positive attitude for her students, encouraging them to follow their dreams. She avoids wearing dark colors or decorating things darkly to evade negativity. She's a firm believer in "look for the silver lining". And in every situation she faces, she's always hunting for that silver lining.
PRETTY BOY, PRETTY GIRL

Mother: Loraine Emiline Collins , 51, gym teacher at the same high school as Mr. Collins
Father: Frank Alan Collins, 52, former football player. Would have gone pro if it wasn't for his knee. Teaches health class at the local high school and coaches the school football team.
Siblings: Lucy Danielle Collins-Blum, 25, the golden child: track, tennis and volleyball star in high school. Parent's favorite. Married her childhood sweetheart and now has a baby on the way. Lily's identical twin.
Other: N/A
Pets: one brown tabby cat, Mozart (Momo for short)
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
History:
When it came time for Frank and Loraine to have children, they were blessed with not one, but two beautiful baby girls with red hair and green eyes, just like their mother. But though Lucy and Lily were identical, they were complete opposites.
When they were babies, Lucy was a very outgoing infant. She was always curious. She was giggly. She made even the hardest hearts melt at her cuteness. She was talking and talking early.
And then there was Lily. Lily was always a very quiet baby. Lily was never too curious. Lily did not giggle often and other people frightened her. She was a late bloomer, indeed. Being shy from the moment she was born quickly made her outgoing sister very popular. And it would stay that way their entire life. Lucy was the one with all the friends that would flock to her in elementary school. Lily would follow her sister everywhere and give the illusion that they shared friends. Lily was the one who received better grades, yet teachers seemed to only remember Lucy (and seemed to think both Collins girls were named "Lucy", much to Lily's annoyance. But she couldn't get too mad; they were identical twins...it was curious, though, that Lucy was never called "Lily").
Home life was also rather difficult. Not in a sense that Lily was beaten or verbally abused. She was just kind of...there, at home. Just as it was in school, she was hardly noticed.
Both parents were teachers and health freaks. There was nothing more important to them than eating right and sports. They loved sports. They forced the kids to go outside and stay active with things like soccer and basket ball which Lucy loved and excelled in. Lily wasn't bad at sports, but it wasn't exactly her cup of tea. She did not mind spending time in the sun (even though she burned easily rather than getting a nice tan), but she'd rather go outside and read a book. So while her parents would play some sport with her sister, Lily willingly sat on the sidelines where she read all sorts of literature, from classics to contemporary. Romance novels to graphic novels. Everything. She read and enjoyed just about everything.
She discovered her talent at the age of eight at her grandparent's house. Grandpa had this big, old piano and he loved to play. He wanted to teach his daughter piano, but Loraine was sports oriented and sadly, it seemed to him that she was pushing her kids to be as well. And then he saw little Lily staring wide eyed at the piano. He observed quietly as she sat down on the bench and began to play a piece he had played earlier, all from memory. He couldn't believe it. He was this little girl with natural talent for music and it was all going to waste. And judging by the look on her face, she quite enjoyed music. So Grandpa and Lily went to Loraine and pleaded with her to send the little girl to piano and voice lessons. Initially, the answer was no, but with some bargaining, Lily was permitted. She could only do music if she also did "something that was actually worthwhile"...aka, a sport. Lily filled her time as a child with gymnastics (pushed on her by her mother) and her music lessons. Music is where she shined.
Lily picked up singing and piano quickly (guitar was a tad trickier for her) and learned at a rapid pace. She had the potential to become a great concert pianist...if it wasn't for her parents. They felt she was wasting her time on music and they chose not to waste their time as well and often skipped recitals or performances Lily had. It hurt, but it did not stop her from playing. Early on in college, Lily was able to study abroad in England and play music at the London School of Performing Arts and Technology. She was having the time of her life until the got word from back home. An email from her mother stating that Lucy was getting married to a doctor (and then she criticized Lily for not having a man, which Lily was offended by. It wasn't like she was boyfriend-less. She'd had a few, thank you very much) and that Lucy was going somewhere in life by becoming a personal trainer. She urged her daughter to do the same and forget music and become something like a teacher (after all, her parents were teachers and it wasn't like Lily had any useful talents). And were Lily to refuse to forget performing, her parents would no longer help pay for college. With no other way to pay for her education and no other choice, she put aside her dreams of being a concert pianist and came back home to go into education.
She got her degree in music education and began to look for jobs far away from California and her family. After what seemed like too long for Lily, she finally landed a job in Riverdale, a little town in North Carolina. She quickly bought a small home and moved to North Carolina. At Riverdale High, she hopes to be able to help her students pursue their dreams in music since she was held back. And if she's successful, she hopes that maybe...just maybe, she can show her parents that though she doesn't do sports, her own natural talents really are worth while.
