Like most new recruits, Rudolph Young was still stunned at his most recent discovery.
For all intents and purposes, of course, it wasn't a discovery. He didn't discover RSOR, RSOR discovered him. That was usually the way it went with recruits. Of all people to recruit him, though, it had been his sister, and she'd confirmed her suspicions by referring to him under his past name. In some ways, this flattered him. It meant that she was able to piece who he was together based on elements of his past life, which meant that his past life was still considered prominent enough to talk about. Which he knew, obviously. He'd figured out the mystery when his grandmother was telling him old stories, after all. Still, it was a nice ego booster (not that Rudy needed one, as he already considered himself to be above most of Riverdale High).
Or, well, he did. Without a doubt he still considered himself to be above any normal within the halls of Riverdale, but it was a blow to his ego to learn that he wasn't quite as special as he thought he was. Was he one of the greatest fighter pilots, if not the greatest, to have ever lived? Well, of course he was! Or so he considered himself to be, at least. Nevermind that he finally met his match and experienced his untimely doom at the age of twenty-five. He was still the greatest. The problem to Rudy's poor bruised ego? RSOR was full of people who were amongst the greatest, if not the greatest in their fields. He respected them, the ones that he knew, but it meant that he had to readjust his priorities. He had to accept that he wasn't the greatest thing to have ever graced the halls of RHS. And for someone as proud as Rudy, that wasn't as easy as it would be for most.
The freshman was hanging out by the main stairwell, a particularly bored expression lingering on his face as he waited for something to happen. A familiar face to show, anything. In particularly, he wanted to meet some of his fellow reincarnates. Now that he knew they existed, he wanted to know who they all were. He knew of a few people who were in the ranks, but he didn't know everyone, and he wished to. He wanted to know who the people he was talking to were. Normals were alright, but they didn't interest him in the way that RSOR was at this point. It was a mystery that was waiting to be uncovered...and it certainly beat doing homework that he doubted he would use much of outside of school anyway. He figured he'd likely follow the same route in this life as he had in the past. Even if it would feel strange working for the 'enemy' military...oh how times had changed.
