Who would have thought the key saga would end the way that it had? Tamara was bitter at how things ended up. The Anti-RSOR had four keys at one point, thanks to Evie's selling her key to Tamara. Tamara even handed Evie a heavy dose of revenge for the treatment she'd received in the blonde's dorm. Unfortunately, Evie had her own form of revenge in the form of her friend, Raven Kass. Tamara was still bothered by the glee that she saw on Raven's face as he watched her squirm. She'd always thought the guy was a creep, but what he was doing was positively criminal...and yet the school was allowing that? What the bloody hell was RSOR? What could they be hiding that could cause this much craziness? The salt in the wound was that Hanston had gotten herself a new set of keys anyway. A wise move on the principal's part, Tamara had to admit, but it also made all of Tamara's work for naught. It also meant that she'd had to endure Raven's actions for naught. Oh how badly she wanted to get back at that guy. She clenched her teeth at the mere thought of him. How could she get back at a guy who seemed to have no qualms about torturing or killing her, though? At this she felt a shudder. Raven Kass shouldn't be allowed attendance at Riverdale High, simple as that. Sure, RSOR had it's secrets. It annoyed the crap out of her that she wasn't allowed in on them, but at the same time, she didn't think that RSOR members should be kicked out of the school. She just wanted to know what the damn club was! Raven, on the other hand? There was no way what he did could be considered acceptable. Yet she had yet to go to anyone about it. Why? Funny thing pride is. She wasn't sure that she wanted anyone to know that Raven got the best of her. Today, though, she was going to relax and enjoy herself. She was going on a date with Vaughn. Her brother would be dropping her off at the restaurant. She thought it might be a bit more romantic if Vaughn drove...then recalled that he wasn't even a United States citizen, but rather an exchange student. Having moved to the U.S. at a young age, Tamara couldn't quite relate, although the fact that they both had British roots was definitely an ice breaker for the two of them. Even if, in all honesty, Tamara was more of an American than a Scot, given the circumstances. The junior hopped out of her brother's car, waving a thank you toward him, then headed inside, hoping that Vaughn would already be there. How lame would it look standing there by herself? Fortunately, she spotted him, and walked up to him with a grin. "Hello there stranger." The seventeen year old greeted her boyfriend in a way that let her usually light Scottish accent slip out freely, then slipped her hands into his. "You waiting for somebody special?" Flirting came natural when she was with him. It was odd to think how their first meeting had gone, looking back on it now. So far, their tempers had yet to clash once more, but who knew how long that would last? Word count: 571 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: Finally got this under way.

YOU AND I ARE YOUNG what makes it wrong for us to fall in love? For the first time in a long time, Vaughn was happy. It had really been a long time since he’d experienced feelings quite like this. The senior hadn’t been in a relationship for a few years now, ever since the tragic accident that ended his girlfriend’s life. Since then he’d never felt ready, not even in the slightest, for another relationship. That made things all the stranger when one looked at who Vaughn was in a relationship with now. When Vaughn Gallagher met Tamara Ramachander, he hated her. He absolutely hated her. And naturally, of course she loathed his entire existence in return. But somewhere in there, there was an attraction. An unspoken, mutual attraction that kept them going back to each other even after their disputes calmed down and their science project was over. It was funny, how science was the thing that had brought them together. Vaughn always hated how he was in a junior level science class in America. It wasn’t that he wasn’t intelligent enough for the senior courses offered, but specifications were different. Courses in the science field were taught in a different order. He’d already done the science that seniors typically took here. Thing is, no one ever knew that. Vaughn was tired of people thinking he was in there because he was stupid, like he’d failed it. He hated science.
But now, he kind of loved science, in a funny way. Science had brought him to his girlfriend. It had brought him and Tamara together. Legit chemistry, pun intended. Now that he was with Tamara, things were looking up. He was happy. Happier. He wasn’t so bitter and moody all the time. He had a reason to enjoy his time in America. Sure, there were others. Vaughn had friends, and a life, but this one.. Tamara was amazing. Sure, there was the whole issue of her being in the Anti-RSOR. He knew about that. (Everyone did.) And she knew that he was in RSOR. In fact, it was like things were just too perfect. Nothing was ever perfect. There was a delicate balance going on, a thin wire holding up that happiness Vaughn was so glad to have in his life with Tamara around. One of these days — it was inevitable — something was going to happen. They were going to argue. It wasn’t like they could avoid that forever. Honestly. In complete polar opposite organizations, secrecy involved, in which one wanted nothing more than to sabotage the other? It was almost like a modern-day case of Romeo and Juliet. Doomed love. This happiness couldn’t last.
But at least for tonight, Vaughn was determined for things to stay good. He was taking Tamara out on a date. Well, if it could considered taking her out if he hadn’t picked her up; he was just meeting her at the restaurant. European driving laws being different, Vaughn hadn’t trusted himself enough, not in the slightest, to drive in America. He would be a complete hazard to himself and everybody else on the road. Those damn Americans, deciding it’s normal to drive on the right side... Damn Americans with their lack of the metric system and knowledge of what real football was like. They always had to be different. Vaughn smiled a little at his thoughts, waiting just inside the restaurant, until his smile widened as he saw Tamara walking up. “Hey, beautiful,” he said softly, giving her a quick, gentle kiss as she slipped her hands into his. “Yeah, actually, I’m meeting my girlfriend here... you haven’t happened to see her, have you?”
His smile widened, and he let go of one of her hands to lead her over to the hostess, so they could get their table. If only happiness could always last. It was a conversation with Lena LaFleur that made Tamara realize just what she was doing. She cared about Vaughn, and really, truly enjoyed his presence, much the way Lena enjoyed Echo's. Trying to convert Lena to an Anti-RSOR way of thinking, Tamara tried to implore Lena to start questioning Echo about RSOR. Only for Lena to throw the argument back into her face and ask her if she'd asked Vaughn some of the same questions. For such a sweet, unassuming girl, Lena sure knew how to make Tamra second guess herself. Avoiding the subject of their loyalties was the best, and easiest, course of action when they were together. She really wanted to enjoy herself out on their dates. She enjoyed her conversations with him, the way he flirted with her and he flirted back, the way they could debate about the silliest things and have fun doing it. What they both knew, and were trying to avoid, was the one debate that they knew would not have such a carefree outcome. It was there, looming like a dark cloud over every date, over every interaction these two had. Did she really want to push the subject? She needed to, but at the same time, she saw how that affected Errol and Chess' relationship. After Errol's own key incident, Chess had given him the cold shoulder. Would Vaughn do the same to her if she pressed the subject of the keys with him? RSOR? She was his girlfriend, though. Surely he could trust her with any secret? She couldn't bear to bring it up right away, not when she saw his smile widen at the sight of her. Tamara's own grin widened until the smile was unmistakable in every feature of her face, from her lips to her teeth to her eyes. The fact that someone was staring at her with those eyes, with that smile...she'd never experienced that from a boy her age before. How could she ruin that? Then again, who was to say that asking such a question would ruin their relationship? He would understand where she was coming from on the issue, would he? She just wanted to know what was going on, what the big secret was...and, most importantly, if the secret was so important that Raven's actions were considered a proper safe guard. If Vaughn considered an attack on her to be a proper safe guard....well, she wasn't so sure that she could trust where his loyalties lay. Not now, though. She couldn't do it now. Not while he was smiling like that. She could barely keep herself together! "Oh, you're meeting your girlfriend here? That's too bad...I was hoping you'd be free for the two of us to grab a bite to eat together." Tamara let loose her best flirty smile. Word count: 480 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: Ayup

YOU AND I ARE YOUNG what makes it wrong for us to fall in love? There were some people — many, probably — who would say that Vaughn’s relationship with Tamara was unhealthy. After all, what boyfriend and girlfriend had a healthy relationship if they weren’t telling each other everything, especially something as big as this? Though really, Tamara and the rest of Anti-RSOR had no proof that it was a big thing at all. They had no clue as to what RSOR was or any part of its big secret. For all they knew, they could just be a secret honor society sort of group, one that was so exclusive that they wouldn’t even let anyone else in the school know what it was. No terrible secret. Vaughn personally didn’t really understand what the big appeal was. If he wasn’t in RSOR, he didn’t think he’d make such a big deal constantly, trying to figure out just what the group was. If they didn’t want him to know what it was, then who cared? He obviously didn’t want to be in the group anyway. Although, he knew it would probably be intriguing, such a secretive group in a high school of all places. He probably would wonder what they were hiding. However, he’d just get over it and move on.
All that was easy for Vaughn to say when he was already part of RSOR, though. It would be different if he wasn’t actually in the group, though he wouldn’t admit that to himself. Either way, he was just grateful that Tamara had never tried to broach the subject with him. He didn’t want to have to keep secrets from his girlfriend. After all, if she didn’t ask, that meant it wasn’t a secret, right? So all Vaughn had to do was hope that she never asked. However, when your girlfriend was Tamara Ramachander, the subject was bound to come up eventually. Vaughn knew that, he did; he was just hoping futilely that maybe, just maybe, it wouldn’t.
It wouldn’t tonight, that was for sure. Vaughn was determined to enjoy a lovely, romantic dinner with his girlfriend. He was going to make sure that she enjoyed her time tonight. That couldn’t happen if he worried about her asking about RSOR. Truthfully, Vaughn did often worry about her introducing the topic. What would he say to her, really? He never wanted to lie to his girlfriend, but he couldn’t tell her the truth. If there was any code of rules that Vaughn was okay with following in America, then that was the one. It was so unlikely she would ask tonight, though. She had no reason to if she was enjoying herself, right? And she sure seemed to be... “Well, my girlfriend hasn’t seem to have arrived yet, so.. I suppose what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her, right?” Vaughn grinned at her, squeezing her hand and kissing her on the cheek before the hostess led the two of them to their table. It was only when they arrived at it that he let go of Tamara’s hand, just so he could pull out her chair for her. Keep her happy infinitely and maybe the subject would never come up.

In her past years at Riverdale, RSOR was just that - A vague curiosity. She did wonder about it, but it never stood out as anything of that much importance. Sure, some of her friends were in it, some friends who didn't seem like the typical type for an honor society, but when she asked questions and they blew her off...well, she didn't care that much. They did their own thing, she did hers, and they'd hang out to do things together. So what changed between Tamara's freshman and sophomore year and her junior year? Lenita. That was what changed. Something between jealousy and a feeling of being cast aside. Tamara's feelings could be likened to those of Petunia when Lily went off to Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series. Prior to Lenita's adoption, Tamara had never had a sister, and when Lenita became a part of the Ramachander family (albeit keeping her original last name), Tamara took to her adopted sister almost immediately. She took her new role as big sister very seriously, starting off by showing Lenita the right toys to play with, and eventually showing her the best ways to fit in, what the cool shows and movies were, etc. Most importantly, they discussed damn near everything with each other. Tamara gossiped to Lenita about what was happening at Riverdale High, while Lenita told her about all of her adventures at middle school. Then RSOR came along. RSOR came along and took away all of that. Now, even though the two girls shared a dorm and talked frequently, there was always an oppressive presence lingering in the air. Tamara learned a few months after Lenita's acceptance into RSOR that asking questions led absolutely nowhere. They could talk all they wanted about boys and school and classes, but the subjects of RSOR and Anti RSOR were always sensed in the outing. Tamara couldn't help but test the waters a few times, but thus far, Lenita was not budging. Had Tamara known Lenita's secret, she would have understood her sister's motives a lot better...but if she'd known Lenita's secret, this whole predicament would not exist in the first place. It was getting increasingly hard to ignore that her boyfriend was a part of this same club. She wanted to, simply because it was Vaughn, just the way she wanted to with her sister. The fact that these two meant so much to her was what made it hard to ignore RSOR's intruding presence. Why was it that they weren't telling her? What's more, what did they have that she did not? She loved her boyfriend, and she loved her sister, but what did they have that she did not? It bothered her, and made her question her own self-worth. Was she not good enough for them? Again, had she known what was truly going on, she might have been more willing to accept the situation. But again, had she known, all of this wouldn't even be a concern. There would be no predicament. Tamara smiled at Vaughn's grin. Smiles were indeed contagious, and there was just something about the way that Vaughn smiled that made Tamara smile in turn. Then he went and finished his statement, and Tamara's smile fell slightly. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her? She knew, of course, that he wasn't referring to RSOR, but that didn't stop her from thinking about the implications of his statement, even if he had not meant them as such. Nevertheless, she recovered her smile as Vaughn kissed her on the cheek. "I suppose not. So long as it's not a food allergy or anything." She tried to focus on his hand in hers, and it worked quite well. She liked the feeling of that big, strong hand intertwined with hers. It was even easy to push aside RSOR when he was pulling out a chair for her to sit down (what a gentleman!). "Why, thank you sir!" Tamara drawled in her best posh accent, watching as he went to take the seat across from her. With each step he took, Tamara's apprehension grew. Word count: 697 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: Oh Vaughn, that was a horrible choice of wording. xD

YOU AND I ARE YOUNG what makes it wrong for us to fall in love? A delicate balance was holding Vaughn and Tamara’s relationship together. Though he would probably never admit it, it was true. If either of them — Tamara, most likely — broached the subject of RSOR, things would start turning to shit; there was no denying that. Vaughn really liked Tamara; in fact, he thought he was really falling in love with her. But with RSOR, he didn’t know what to do. A part of him really did feel bad for keeping this from her. He knew they were walking on pins and needles as it was, and if the subject came up, he didn’t know what he would do. It wasn’t like he could betray RSOR. That wouldn’t just be betrayal, it would be death, really. It was the sort of secret that wouldn’t go over well with the rest of the world. And at the same time, he couldn’t leave Tamara. He loved her. But she would be mad — who wouldn’t? — if she asked him and he wouldn’t tell her the truth, with no real reasoning behind his answers.
What would he tell her if she asked? Oh, don’t worry about, it doesn’t concern you. Or maybe he’d make up some lie to tell her, something completely opposite of the truth. No, that couldn’t end well. Vaughn wasn’t oblivious; he knew she was in anti-RSOR. He knew she’d have to tell them, and they’d eventually figure out that it was all a hoax, all made up, and that would just end badly. Basically, whenever she finally broached the subject and asked him, they were fucked. There was nothing he could really say that would be a good answer without betrayal or hurting his girlfriend. And Vaughn had been really glad to fall in love with Tamara. He’d been damaged goods, broken, for years, and she’d brought him out of that. He wouldn’t be able to handle breaking up with her and being away from her. He was in love, quite simply, and there was nothing he could do to change that.
Tamara wasn’t stupid either, though, and Vaughn knew that. Sure, it seemed inevitable that she would eventually ask him, but maybe she wouldn’t. Maybe they could keep on living happily and she’d never bring it up and he’d never breathe a word of it and all would be well. Not that it could ever be completely healthy between them when they both knew about the secret. Something would happen eventually. But for now, who cared. Vaughn grinned at her, bowing low before taking his seat across from her. “T’was nothing, miss,” he said, his voice resonating with a melodic tone through his strong English accent. Vaughn was still proud of his accent; it was one of the few things that really made him stand out here. Taking his seat, Vaughn reached across the table and took one of her hands, squeezing it and giving her a smile. He flipped open his menu with his other hand, figuring out what he wanted before their waitress arrived. Waiting. Always waiting.

It was too bad that the couple was in the predicament that it was in. Tamara cared quite a bit for Vaughn as well. She didn't want to lose him. He was a nice guy, but at the same time could keep up with her quips and jokes. They were a good match for each other in many aspects. In fact, the fact that they were dedicated to their respective clubs could be seen as another thing that would bring them closer...save for the fact that their two respective clubs were the opposite of each other. Was Anti-RSOR really the right name for it? Tamara didn't have anything against the organization itself (save for the fact that they'd taken Lenita away), but rather took issue in the secrecy involved. More and more Tamara was starting to lean toward the secret being a rather large one, and not something you'd normally expect to come across in a high school. Who could blame her? If it were just something like an academic group, or a social group that got together to play games in the attic as her adopted sister's boyfriend claimed, there was no need for the frenzy surrounding the keys. Principal Hanston allowed violence to get those keys back. As far as she knew, Isabella Avadore wasn't even punished for the incident with Oz. No, she hadn't been there when it happened, but seriously, this was Tamara. Even if she hadn't seen it on youtube she would have known. Nor did Raven get in trouble for what he did to Tamara, though to be fair to him, Tamara had not come forward to anyone about what exactly he'd done yet. She still had a few scars on her from when he decided to treat her like a human pumpkin. No, RSOR was hiding something big if acts like those were allowed. This had gone from a silly game to something larger, and the more she realized that something big was happening, the more curious she grew. Especially when half the people she was closest to stayed mum on the subject...and the other half were just as curious as she was. Nonetheless, Tamara could not resist a smile as Vaughn spoke with emphasis on his own accent. He was right to think that that accent made him stand out in Riverdale. Of course, to Tamara, almost everything about Vaughn made him stand out. The smile became strained as an almost awkward silence came over the table while they waited for their server to come. Finally, Tamara could no longer take it. She had to break up the silence somehow. "What were you thinking of ordering? I can help if you need help finding something..." Tamara had, after all, been to this restaurant on a few separate occasions with her family. Moreover? This way she avoided the unspoken questions that they both wanted to avoid. Trouble was, how long could this charade really last? It was against Tamara's very nature to remain mum for this long about a subject she was nearly obsessed with. It was at least a testament to how much she wanted to continue her relationship with Vaughn. Word count: 544 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: Gonna keep up the awkward for a few more posts. XD

YOU AND I ARE YOUNG what makes it wrong for us to fall in love? There was something about their relationship, Vaughn had noticed lately, that was almost awkward. Like it was forced, how they acted when they were with each other tonight. There was something weird going on and he was just noticing it now. The thing was, Vaughn really did care about Tamara, he cared about her a lot. In fact, he was falling in love with her, falling fast, and he wanted to tell her that soon. Tonight, even. Actually, that was a big part of his plan for this date. One, they hadn’t done anything like this in a while, and he wanted to treat her. But two, he wanted to tell his girlfriend that he loved her. It was a huge step for Vaughn. It was a huge step for them, considering how their relationship had originated. In fact, it was amazing that two people like Vaughn and Tamara were even together in the first place. They’d hated each other. Despised each other. And now, they were in love.
It was such a funny thing, love. It could pretty much define your life. Vaughn almost thought of no one now but Tamara. It was like no one else mattered to him. Sure, his family a little, and he had some friends both here in Riverdale and also home in Britain, but Tamara was his number one now. There was really no other way to put it: he was in love. He cared about her more than anything and it was really, really making the whole fact that he had to go back home to England at the end of the year even harder to handle. Really, what was Vaughn going to do about that? Long distance relationships were hard, he knew that, but that wasn’t really the whole thing. He didn’t doubt Tamara, he knew their love would be able to survive that. But would he? He didn’t want to be apart from her for more than a week, let alone weeks and months in another country across the ocean. It wasn’t like his family was wealthy, either, and he could afford trips over here to visit her. And it wasn’t like he expected it to work the other way around. Basically, he just didn’t want to have to worry about leaving at all.
And at the same time, there was something forced and awkward about this date they were on right now. They were in love, right? They enjoyed each other’s company and wanted to spend time with each other and wanted to have a wonderful evening together. And yet something was... weird. Something was off. Vaughn had a feeling in the pit of his stomach, a hunch, that he might know what this awkwardness was arising from; he just hoped it was wrong this time. He didn’t want to talk about RSOR tonight. Hell, he didn’t want to talk about it ever, but that wasn’t the point. Tonight was supposed to be about them. He had to keep it a happy night, an enjoyable one. He looked up at his girlfriend and gave her a smile. “Uh, sure,” he answered, glancing back down at the menu. “I’m kind of in the mood for seafood... What’s good here?” And if they could just keep talking about food and maybe school and fuck, even the weather, everything would be okay.

If this were under different circumstances, the date that Vaughn and Tamara were on could be in the running to be a perfect date. It was located at a nice restaurant, the two were flirting, Vaughn was thinking about sharing his feelings with her... Vaughn meant the world to Tamara. Vaughn was changing Tamara for the better, if one thought about it. If she weren't dating Vaughn, if she didn't truly care for him, she wouldn't have stayed silent this long. She would have been grilling him up and down about RSOR. The fact of the matter was that Tamara didn't really want to grill Vaughn about RSOR. Finding out about RSOR, normally her number 1 priority, was becoming her number 2 priority around him. How long could it last though, really? Trying to uncover the mystery was normally of utmost importance with her, and she'd pushed off her goals to preserve her relationship with Vaughn far longer than anyone could have expected of the junior. Tamara smiled a little when Vaughn responded to her inquiry about the menu. Seafood? She wasn't much of a fan herself, but having come here with her parents, brother, and Lenita, she'd been here long enough to get an idea of what was good. Her father normally ordered seafood dishes, after all. "Well, you're in luck Mr. Gallagher. My father usually has a craving for seafood here himself. There's a few dishes I've seen him order more than once. The shrimp alfredo is a good bet. I don't even like seafood much and I'll usually steal a few bites of that. They also have crab legs, a lobster bisque my father's ordered on about five occasions..." She laughed, before ending with "You just better not have any calamari, Vaughn Gallagher, or I may have to put off kissing you the entire night." Tamara didn't want to mean it, but calamari gave her the heebie jeebies. Of course, she'd never tried it, but just the description...eww! Fortunately her father never ordered that one either... There it was. The two were actually discussing food, and having fun, and the awkwardness involved was scarcely thought of. ...except she was thinking of it. Right now She'd ruined the moment for herself, and found herself wishing that the two of them already had food in front of them so that she could busy herself with her food and not with the fact that her smile suddenly faltered, or that she felt a strange pang in her chest as she looked over at Vaughn again. Surely, though, if he cared about her, he could at least tell her a few things about RSOR...she was his girlfriend, right? "So, what do you and your friends do in the attic all night? You aren't seeing another girl up there, are you?" Her tone was as playful as she could make it, but the subject was out in the open, and it was impossible to make it sound as happy go lucky and innocent as she wanted to make it sound. She was questioning him about RSOR. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't disguise that. And she couldn't turn back now. Word count: 545 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: None

YOU AND I ARE YOUNG what makes it wrong for us to fall in love? It was a mark of how much Vaughn loved Tamara Ramachander that he avoided the topic of RSOR at all costs. In fact, he avoided it like the plague. It was one of his biggest fears that she would bring it up, even though they both knew it was truthfully inevitable. It did bug him that he had to keep such a huge secret from someone he loved, but he knew that she couldn’t know. RSOR was a secret that couldn’t ever be spilled, not to anyone. It was something that no matter how much he loved her, no matter how badly he wanted to, he just couldn’t tell her. And he knew she wanted to know. Vaughn wasn’t stupid; he knew his girlfriend was in anti-RSOR. In fact, it bothered him that she was, but it wasn’t like he could say anything about it. He couldn’t tell her that it bothered him. She’d keep that to herself, and he’d keep his secret to himself, and everything would be fine.
But of course, it wasn’t fine. Nothing stayed fine for too long. That was life. C’est la vie. Nothing ever worked out the way you wanted to and nothing was always happy. The two of them were just pretending; it was only a matter of time before something happened. Vaughn gave Tamara a smile across the table. “Shrimp alfredo sounds divine, actually... However, I don’t know if it’s the wisest decision if my girlfriend is going to end up eating half of my meal...” He smiled again, so she’d know that he was just joking with her. In all reality, he didn’t mind at all if she did eat from his plate. He found it sort of adorable, to be honest. He found everything about Tamara to be adorable. Well, almost everything. There was the whole thing about RSOR and anti-RSOR which was sort of massively huge but otherwise, everything else about her was wonderful. Her hair, her face, her eyes, her voice, her... everything. He just... he loved her.
Vaughn started to clear his throat. He had to tell her he loved her. He was going to do it right now. It was the perfect moment. Well, maybe not perfect, but it was now or never, really. There was no better time, so why not? “T- He started to utter her name, and then... Ohhhhhhh, shit. Oh, fuck, no... He didn’t want to have this conversation. Vaughn wrung his hands in his lap, looking just to the right of her. What lovely carpet they had in this restaurant. It was such a nice pattern. “N-no... Of course not...” Vaughn was aware of the fact that the stutter in his voice just made him sound guilty, but there was nothing he could do about that. Of course he wasn’t cheating on his girlfriend, he loved her, but... Shit, what was he supposed to say? This was the conversation that they both knew was coming and yet completely had wanted to avoid. Now it was happening. “It’s, we’re... W-we don’t do anything...” Most of the time.
