we both know we’ve been here before, we both know what can happen… WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred shifted from one foot to the other and back again. Since she didn’t want this to date-like, she had decided that Corny and her would meet up here instead of one picking the other up. Now, it didn’t seem like as bright an idea but Fred was still toying with the idea of the two of them dating officially. She knew the political issues of two Leader’s Panel members dating and wasn’t really wanting to be a part of that drama. But, she did quite like Cox, they were good friends and they worked really well together. He grounded her a bit, but within reason, and she pulled him skyward so he could get out and be a bit more adventurous. Fred liked people who she could drag along to have fun and try new things, and Corny didn’t really resist so much as cave and keep warnings on the dangerous aspects of what she was doing. It was sort of nice.
Fred had also to consider the effects on Oliver. Sure, Oliver was dating someone, but it had been made painfully clear that he had feelings for Fred beyond just their friendship. She found it almost cute in ways, and the drunken kiss would have been hysterical if not for the fact that Oliver was dating Lenita and was happy with her too. It made it awkward to think he was happy being with Lenita but still harboured feelings for Fred. She didn’t want to upset him but being to forthright in her reactions, but dating Corny would also take her off the market and remove the temptation and conflicts Oliver was having.
Fred wasn’t one to do something for others only though, and she maintained some selfishness in her goals. She wanted to take Corny for a test drive and that was what tonight was. Hence she had kept it as far from date like and more like two friends. But keeping it also within reasonable date standards to see how events transpired. She thought it was a brilliant idea and if all went well tonight, the two of them would have seen the amazing classical band Wonder Chunks…and Corny would get a formal asking out from Fred. Tradition could go to hell, Fred was asking him when she was ready not any sooner and him asking her would only work at the precise moment that mattered. If Fred had been an easy person to date and sway into things, she’d have been married with kids in her first life…instead she had just barely married at all.
Fred was early, otherwise she probably wouldn’t be waiting like this. She had been restless and decided to just head out. Turns out that just lead to her being restless here. After the concert, she wanted to go for a ride on Corny’s horses and hang out a bit, if Corny was game. She just wanted to have some fun and that was always what Fred was looking for. Corny could use more fun and Fred could see so many ways she could give him that. She just wondered if that would work out for both of them. She was pretty sure Corny was on board, so all that was left to do was for Fred to decide if she wanted to pursue this.

Was Cornelius interested in Fred? He'd be lying if he said no. He'd always been on decent terms with her. They were both on the Leader's Panel, and he respected her as a fellow leader, and a good friend. It took Oliver kissing Fred while drunk for Cornelius to realize that it wasn't just the fact that Oliver was going up to an unsuspecting girl and kissing her (he'd since forgiven Oliver, since it became clear quite fast that Oliver's drink had been spiked, and therefore it wasn't even his fault that he was drunk)...it was that the girl in question was Fred. Cornelius wasn't sure what to consider their outing tonight. They were going out, yet not exactly 'going out'. They were most certainly going somewhere together, just the two of them, but were they going as boyfriend and girlfriend or just friends? In the end, he supposed it didn't really matter too much, and he certainly wasn't going to ask this early on into the outing, but he couldn't help but be curious. Who wouldn't be in his shoes? Given his standing in his past life, he hated the idea of being late to anything. Being late as a politician could be career suicide. While he was clearly no longer a politician (although a case could be argued for being on the leader's panel of RSOR, true), he still thought like one. Punctuality was a must, and he was happy to see that Fred had beat him to the punch. Evidently he wasn't the only one who felt the way that he did. Or maybe it was just the luck of the draw. Either way, Cornelius was just happy that he wasn't stuck waiting for Fred for the next half an hour. "You look thoroughly engaged, Two." Cornelius commented with a grin, pushing away his British accent. Normally he defaulted to his American one now, but sometimes he slipped up. And given his feelings for Fred, the temptation to slip up was a lot higher than usual. Nevertheless, Winston Churchill was known for being a great orator for a reason, and he was easily able to recover. He was also coming to enjoy the nicknames that he and Fred adopted for each other. While they couldn't exactly refer to each other as Winnie One and Winnie Two in front of normals, as the name Cornelius was not outwardly associated with the nickname Winnie, Cornelius had taken to calling Fred the shortened version of this, 'Two'. "So...any idea why they're called the Wonder Chunks? I could think of plenty of better names. Hope they're as good as we've heard." Wonder Chunks was an odd name for a band, but he could handle it as long as the band was decent. As for the odd turn in the conversation? Well, they needed something to do while they waited for the blasted band, didn't they? Word count: 496 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: Wonder Chunks. XD

we both know we’ve been here before, we both know what can happen… WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred was quite aware of Corny’s interest in her. Or at least she perceived he was interested based on past experience, expressions and reactions to various events. The two of them had been friends for a long time and their positions on the leader’s panel were a part of their need to communicate but they did so much more socializing than that. It wasn’t about RSOR when they were talking, it was about them. For someone in Fred’s position, sometimes it was nice to do something natural and not have to worry about who might be watching. Hanging with Corny would seem so natural and as long as they didn’t talk RSOR tonight could be a loose, have fun kind of night.
Fred was also not exactly the most normal girl in terms of gender roles and dating. Her first life she had married but it had been VERY unusual for the time period. She had married on the terms that they marry and be equals. She hadn’t been expected to remain home and be the lovely wife. And she had declined his proposals many times before ever agreeing to marry the man. Yes, George had been a gem in that time period but Amelia’d be damned if she got tied down by a man. Fred still felt that way today, and as a result she was treading cautiously, even if the rules and expectations were different in today’s time.
Fred teetered a bit on her heels when she finally saw Corny and tried to get herself to stop fidgeting but Fred would always be full of energy. It was the way she had been and the way she’d always be. She nodded with a smile when Corny commented. ”Good of you to show up One! And Early too…”
She added glancing at her phone for the time. ”Want to grab a coffee first. We have at least 20 minutes before we need to get in there.” She asked with a grin. Fred laughed when he asked why the band was called Wonder Chunks. ”I don’t know. I just assumed it meant that they were chunks of wonder and worth seeing.” She said with an amused grin. She had no doubts Wonder Chunks was good, though she hadn’t heard them herself either. In fact, she wasn’t sure if there was even a CD to pick up for the band. ”It’s a good thing my grandmother thinks there good or I wouldn’t have even known they were around. She highly recommends them.” Fred added with a shrug. Fred had asked around after that and some people knew of Wonder Chunks, but not many. Fred’s grandmother was an avid traveller and a bit more wild than even Fred was. It made her grandmother amazing to spend time as the woman had a wide variety of tastes and experiences to share.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 478 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Hold on my Heart" by Genesis ••

So far as Cornelius could tell, Fred was interested in him as well. She wasn't so straightforward about it as other girls might be, but that was what drew him to her even more. She wasn't a girl just standing there waiting to be swept off her feet, nor did he want her to be. That wasn't befitting of Fred Young, former alias Amelia Earhart. The junior grinned when Fred mentioned that he was early. "What other way is there to be?" Once a politician, always a politician, and politicians usually couldn't afford to be late. The impact on their careers could be devastating. The closest thing Cornelius came to having a political career thus far in this lifetime was his spot on the Leader's Panel. Perhaps this was why Oz was the only one who'd managed to get under his skin. Oz wanted on the leader's panel. More specifically, Cornelius felt that Oz wanted his spot on the leader's panel. Oz was, therefore, a political rival, and needed to be treated as such. "A hot drink of some sort might be good, yes. If we're going to stand around in the cold for the next couple of hours we might as well warm up a bit beforehand." Though given the status of the show, and the fact that it was sold out, Cornelius didn't think it would be that cold. The surrounding air might be chilly, but with so many people packed into a venue, even if it did happen to be outdoors? It would be warm enough. Still, it beat standing around and waiting with nothing else to do. If they had twenty minutes, they had twenty minutes to kill. Grabbing something to drink would make about perfect time. Cornelius could not help but chuckle at Fred's explanation. "To be honest, it reminds me of cat food. " In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in the world, there was a pet food by the name of 'Wonder Chunks', or something similar in a different language, being marketed. Nevertheless, a band that named itself that? He had no doubts that this band would be interesting, to say the least. If they were willing to name themselves something as out there as 'The Wonder Chunks', he knew that he would find entertainment in some form. Whether it was through theatrics, the music itself, or both, there was a certain level of anticipation involved, and, as odd as it sounded, he trusted Fred's grandmother's judgment. The woman was not a typical grandmother by any stretch of the imagination, but nor were Fred Young and Cornelius Cox normal teenagers by any stretch of the imagination (though an argument could be made for the definition of 'normal' at Riverdale High). "So where is this elusive coffee we were supposed to find?" He asked, reverting back to the prior subject. Word count: 498 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: None

we both know we’ve been here before, we both know what can happen… WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred would always be a tough catch. No man was going to do it for her. No Prince Charming would sweep her off her feet. She’d sweep him off his feet instead. She called the shots. She decided what happened. And most importantly, any relationship with Fred meant you were independent equals. She was not clingy. She wasn’t going to ask permission for things. Fred was and always would be a doer. She would always do what she wanted, and though she can consider her partner, she’d make the decision for herself. This meant she also needed someone who didn’t need her to hold their hand either. Fred was confident, comfortable and happy to be single if the alternative was too taxing on her individuality and freedom.
Fred grinned. ”Ah, touché!”
She said her grin turning into an amused smirk. She agreed with Corny on that one. Then again, She had her fair share of spotlight and fame, so she knew being early was the best bet. Of course, part of it was also being prepared, and it was hard to be prepared when you were late or even just on time. Unexpected things happened, so it was best to be prepared and arrive with enough of a time cushion to fix any issue before schedule. Fred nodded in agreement. ”And after as well. It’ll give us time to talk about the concert after the fact.” She added in full agreement with Corny. Fred also didn’t anticipate it being that cold. In fact, given the circumstances it was more likely that the two of them would be sweating in their clothes by the end of it. Close bodies produced heat, it was just the way it was. Fred full on laughed at Corny’s observation. ”It does sort of...doesn’t it?” She didn’t mention that in ways it also sounded almost like glorified vomit. She really didn’t need the conversation going in THAT direction. Though, the name itself told Fred that the band would at least be interesting. That was what she hoped for and she knew her Grandmother’s tastes. That woman was one of Fred’s modern day heroes. She was glad to have been reborn and have met her. Hell, Fred loved her whole second family. She loved them much like her first. Fred nodded to the right with her head. ”There is a small place a block that way. I’ve met with friends there more than once.” She offered, turning to start walking.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 413 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Hold on my Heart" by Genesis ••

Of course Fred was a tough catch. That was what held the appeal for Cornelius. He didn't want it to be too easy. Relationships were a two way street, and Cornelius understood that. He realized that after his first proposal in his past life. Just because you proposed to someone didn't mean that they had to say yes, and the same went for relationships in general. Cornelius was concerned with punctuality as well - Sometimes to a fault. Hence the reason why he made his statement in the first place. The junior grinned when Fred mentioned discussing the concert afterward. "That's true. After watching a concert I doubt either of us will be ready to head to bed straight away." There was no doubt that they would feel tired eventually, especially if the atmosphere was as energetic as most concerts, but the fact remained that they'd likely be wired for at least an hour or so afterward, before the exhaustion hit in. They might as well make plans for that portion of the night as well. Indeed, Wonder Chunks did sound a bit like glorified vomit, but Cornelius was steering away from that direction in the conversation as well. It didn't seem like the best subject to bring up, especially when they had yet to see the band in action. It did say one thing about the band, though - They weren't afraid to take risks. Apparently, it paid off for them too. The show was sold out, and clearly the band was pretty well known if Fred heard about them from her grandmother. Cornelius was fairly pleased with his family in this life as well - in fact, he'd venture to say more than his past family. He'd never been able to please his father in his past life, while his father in this life (and mother as well) were more likely to give their son praise. Granted, Winston did face a lot of struggles during his formative years that he didn't face in this lifetime, but the fact remained that there was a prominent difference between the two families. The Coxes weren't aiming to "impress" anyone, after all. Elise was about the only downside to his family, and to Cornelius she was more of an annoyance than anything else. He didn't realize just how much more of an annoyance she would soon become, having joined Anti-RSOR...he knew he had to watch out for her, but just how much remained to be sen. Cornelius smiled when Fred mentioned that she knew a place to go for a treat. "Lead the way, Two. What are you thinking about getting?" Cornelius questioned, in an attempt to make conversation. Word count: 458 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: None

we both know we’ve been here before, we both know what can happen… WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred nodded her head. ”Classical or not, a Concert is a Concert. You don’t just sleep after. You talk, discuss, rave and call up friends and brag about it.”
She laughed. Of course, Fred didn’t boast about things, at least not seriously so that one wasn’t happening, though the other three were just fine because she had Corny to talk, rave and discuss with. ”Not to mention picking up merchandise!!” Fred tacked on, somewhat interested in what a Wonder Chunks T-Shirt would even look like. ”With a name like Wonder Chunks they have got to have some damn awesome looking T-Shirts.” She pondered out loud. Fred turned and started down the street, guiding Corny to the nearby coffee shop. ”Not sure. Maybe an Ice Cap. Or perhaps I may stick to tea and keep it simple. Tea is definitely a great idea for the calm before the concert.” Fred said, more thinking out loud than answering his question. ”What about you? I assume tea and crumpets are an order!!!” She said, with a laugh. Her and Corny were both British after all, so it was a commonly joked upon British ‘trait’. Not to say all Brits had it. Personally, Fred preferred Coffee to tea. Fred pushed open the door to the coffee shop to find it practically empty. She grinned at Corny and said, ”I guess Wonder Chunks fans don’t drink coffee. You’d think this place would be crawling with fans.” Not that Fred had met a Wonder Chunk fan other than her Grandmother so far. She was curious what sort of crowd they attracted. Each band had its own form of junkies and fan girls, it was just a matter of what crowd they originated from. Fred lingered in the doorway a moment, her eyes roaming around and taking in the familiar sight. ”It’s weird seeing it so empty. I am usually here during the day.” Fred added, before finally stepping forward and moving toward the counter. She hadn’t actually decided 100% what she was getting yet so she stayed back far enough for the employees to understand she was thinking about it, her eyes scanning over the signs. ”How does a milkshake sound? Apparently they make those too. I haven’t had one before but they have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and banana. A decent selection...” She said trailing off, asking what Corny was having to help decide what she was having. Fred actually didn’t care much as she was too excited for the concert to think about a beverage but she did want something to drink. Anything was sounding lovely right about now, because she just wanted to sit down and talk with Corny for the time that remained. It was one of the many things on her test list for this evening. It was occurring to Cornelius that Fred knew almost as little about the Wonder Chunks as he did. That said, he was also aware of Gwendolyn Young's reputation. The woman had quite an eclectic taste in music from what Cornelius (and most of RSOR for that matter) could tell, and he was willing to give it a shot. Not to mention that a band willing to name themselves after what sounded like dog food earned some respect for that in itself. "I wonder what other merchandise they have. I'm sure they have interesting t-shirts like you said, but with a name like that they could have all sorts of novelties. Can you imagine what their CDs look like?" As he said this, another idea for what the name might be a reference to cropped up. "Maybe they mean chicken chunks?" Cornelius was starting to regret not having looked up this band before the concert. It wasn't that he wasn't looking forward to it - Far from it actually! He just felt a little off not knowing anything about a band they were about to see in concert when they would likely be surrounded by fans who knew the words to almost every song. Cornelius chuckled at the obvious jab at his British roots. "Tea perhaps, but I think that I will pass on the crumpets." The former prime minister admitted, letting his past British accent slip through just a tad while discussing this British custom. He'd grown accustomed to being born and raised in America in this lifetime, but there was no denying his British roots. There were hardly any traces of his old British accent left, but only because he did his best to make sure that he didn't slip in front of any normals. Well, that, and he'd been around American accents long enough in this life that he could switch between the two of them with relative ease. Admittedly, though, a milkshake didn't sound too bad when Fred mentioned it, especially when they entered the building. "You would think it would be busier at night when people aren't at school or work, though I suppose everyone had other plans tonight." Looking up at the menu, Cornelius thought about his order. "I think I'll probably go with a shake right now. I've never been to a place that serves banana shakes, so I think I'll try one of those." He mused out loud. "Then tea for later." Or maybe he'd do it the other way around, but at least he'd decided on the items themselves. Word count: 457 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: None

we both know we’ve been here before, we both know what can happen… WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred really didn’t know much about Wonder Chunks. As she had said it was a recommendation and her grandmother was an amazing woman. She was very modern for an old woman and she was always having a fun time. Fred loved spending time with her grandmother as not only did she tell tons of stories but she had tons of knowledge to share. She was an adventurer and Fred would give anything to be like her Grandma. Amelia Earhart wanting to be like an old woman, who’d have thought?
Fred laughed when Corny mentioned the possibly visual the CDs could have. ”A puke splatter? Poop? Lumpy wet dog food? Anything is possible with a name like that.”
Fred laughed. ”Maybe it looks like ice cream? Cookie Dough has chunks!” She added as a less gruesome afterthought. She loved how they were pondering over what type of Chunks could be referenced as Wonder Chunks. It was amusing and finding out the answer would be that much better than guessing. ”I should have googled them...” Fred said, her brainwaves following what Corny was thinking without realizing it. ”you don’t think they will hold that against me do you?” She said. Her question was out of amusement and was purely rhetorical. Fred looked mock disappointed when he said no to the crumpets. ”What would your forefather’s say?!” She jested. She was amused that he had let his British show. It was always nice when others had parts of their past they could show. Of course, a British accent could be dangerous but there was no one around to care of hear it. Fred got a puzzled look and shrugged. ”No one ever said humans were logical. It’ll be quieter for the two of us I guess. Maybe everyone is studying?” She managed to get that out before cracking a smile and showing she was joking about that response. Most of them would be having fun tonight, not studying. If the ‘browners’ were at a concert the other students certainly were not studying. Fred grinned. ”Have you ever had one before?...I’ll have one too.” Fred made sure she ordered two, one for each of them and paid for it before Corny had a chance to pay for his own. She decided for him that tea was for later. ”We can come back for tea when we are done. Tea is calming, milkshakes are fun!” Fred offered as an explanation.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 405 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Hold on my Heart" by Genesis ••
