can't make nothing out of nothing everybody needs a start… LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien’s eyes skimmed over his dorm room. Everything was as in place as it was going to get with his roommates. Lucien was meticulous about cleanliness and everything being in its place. If he could find it quickly it was more effective to find and use, whatever the object may be. Lucien was once a Military General and that certainly didn’t make him sloppy or disorganized and those skills had carried over to this life quite well. He had tidied the last minute crap like a plate here and a cup there left lying around by him of his roommates. He wasn’t exactly used to having guests come to the dorm so it was sort of a pleasant experience and an almost awkward one…if Lucien hadn’t been so socially comfortable.
He was expecting his partner for a History project, WWI to be exact. The amusement would never leave Lucien during the weeks the class was focusing on WWI. He was a WWI expert if there was one. He had been there, fought alongside his friends, family and the most admirable men Germany had to offer. Still they had lost, but Lucien had been far from defeated. General Vorbeck remained undefeated and certainly was a pest toward the Brits. He could still smell the terrain and remember the four year campaign as if it were yesterday. They were four of the finest years of his life after all. He was not just learned in how it started and what went on during the various battles and events….he was there experiencing the emotions that went along with them. He felt the elation at the start of the war, and he felt the horror when they lost. He killed men for the cause and watched the life leave their eyes. You don’t do something like that and not get a close and personal relationship with the events as they transpired. Sure, Vorbeck hadn’t been on the Western Front where the worst of the war was fought, but he was still part of the events, politics, strategy and history.
Lucien had a very intimate relationship with all the Leader’s Panel members at this point. Intimate in the sense of constant pranks, annoying the shit out of them and pestering them constantly. Hell, he’d been on good terms with Anti-RSOR. So naturally that meant he knew a thing or two about his partner for this project and not only that, he had spent a lot of time intentionally bothering him as much as possible. It sort of made the project meeting seem like a bad idea in some ways. But things had changed recently.
Lucien had been recruited to RSOR, the club of reincarnates at Riverdale High. He was General Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck and he had more than enough proof of that. He also knew that everyone else in the club was also reincarnated historical people who had lived in another time and had other experiences behind them rather than just this life and this high school. Ever since finding that out he had stopped hassling the RSOR and had started instead working on how to help keep the secret. He had just recently started to pester Anti-RSOR instead, though few knew about that as of yet.
Lucien had sprawled out his text books on the table to at least make it look like he needed them and in some instances he did, but not many. He was well learned in war and especially WWI and WWII. He had read a lot of material on it in the past just to be sure he knew all events as they transpired. He had heard firsthand accounts, read diaries and memoirs and of course viewed the historical beliefs on what happened from the various countries involved. WWI was his piece of cake and he knew how it was made.
Lucien knew the one coming was one Cornelius Cox. He knew that Cox was intelligent and from what he had been told he knew that he lived nearby and in a rural area of Riverdale on a farm and as a result it was easier to use Lucien’s Dorm instead of Lucien going to Cox’s place. He also knew that Cornelius was great in history, or at least judging by their classes he was very rich in historical knowledge of WWI. That meant they were a good pairing and Cox was likely a WWI reincarnate. A relief to be honest, considering their groups were assigned.

Class projects could be interesting endeavors for the reincarnates of Riverdale. It was almost a guarantee that a reincarnate would have to do a report on their past life or something related to it at some point during their stint with RSOR. Therefore, Cornelius expected the World War I project, and was amused when he was assigned to it. He was even amused by his partner. Of all people, it happened to be someone who'd given RSOR hell up until recently...up until he was recruited himself. Cornelius, as a Leader's Panel member, had access to more information than Lucien did, and upon hearing that not only was Lucien recruited, but he would be working with Lucien on a project, Cornelius decided to sneak a peak at just who Lucien Adam Sharp really was. A German general. Hence Cornelius' amusement. Though Cornelius had truly shined in World War II, he'd been involved with aspects of World War I as well (on the British side, of course). Granted, his involvement with World War I had been...well, sketchy at best (two failed expeditions at Antwerp and Gallipoli, as well as failed action at the Dardanelles), while Lucien's experience in Africa had been met with success, against the British too no less. Nevertheless, Cornelius found the whole thing immensely amusing because of all of this. Only in Riverdale would such a fitting pairing occur. Instead of going home as he usually did after classes, Cornelius instead traveled up the stairs. He was normally in charge of driving his sister Elise home as well, but it happened to work out that Elise was staying after school with a friend as well. Thus, Cornelius had nothing to worry about as he reached the right floor, traveling down the hallway until he found the correct room. He knocked at the door a few times, then stood back as he waited for a response. When the door came open, Cornelius glanced back behind him at once, to make sure no one was around, before smirking and speaking in a low voice as he held out his hand. "General Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck? Winston Churchill. It's a pleasure, though given our pasts, I would have expected the circumstances of our meeting to be a bit...different." Cornelius made no effort to disguise his British accent, which came out as effortlessly as his go-to American accent in this life, nor did he make any attempts to shield his entertainment. He was eager to close the door, so as to not pose any more security risks to RSOR than was needed. He also wondered if Lucien found this as amusing as he did. can't make nothing out of nothing everybody needs a start… LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien still hadn’t attended an official RSOR meeting so the people who were aware of him were slim. Hearing/learning about RSOR had been a huge step for him, and amusing in its own right. Lucien had been on good terms with Anti-RSOR because of their issues with RSOR and he often had agreed with their grievances. As they pumped for information, Lucien found ways to prank and pretty much harass known RSOR members. It was entertaining for him and on top of that he felt he was doing it to people who thought they were so far above the general school populace that they kept some sort of secret club in the attic. This, to him, meant that they had been the perfect targets, and they deserved it. Now he knew the truth and was pretty amused that he was actually one of them and now understood so completely their logic for keeping the club a secret.
Lucien’s need to pester people had been redirected and he had started gently irritating Anti-RSOR but before long he’d be up to his usual, but against his former allies. Anti-RSOR couldn’t know what RSOR was and Lucien felt that this was the safest way to keep them at arm’s length. Not to mention he could harass them and implant ideas of what RSOR entails that were quite false into their minds. No one would consider a person to be false while having a grand time antagonizing someone else. In fact, the average person gave up more of themselves in an act of cruelty or frivolous distasteful fun than they did in a content mindset. Time would tell just what Lucien would do to the poor Anti-RSOR members.
Lucien was unaware that Cornelius knew of Lucien’s entrance into RSOR, but it did make sense that he would know seeing as he was leader’s panel. Lucien already knew who the leader’s panel was by their current life names. He was just unaware of who they all were in their past lives. He knew Joan of Arc was one of them, but so far that was pretty much all he knew of the Leader’s Panel. It made sense that Cornelius was aware of who Lucien was though.
Hearing the knock at the door, Lucien wandered over and opened it, immediately he was pleased he had made sure his roommates wouldn’t be around that day. He had smiled in welcome and was about to comment when Cornelius beat him to the punch. Lucien grinned in amusement, both at the nature of the greeting and the introduction that followed. Who in his time hadn’t heard of Winston Churchill? Hell, in WWII Paul could easily say he was more in sympathy and agreement with the British than with his own German people. So Churchill could have been said to have his support…in the very least Paul hadn’t supported Hitler.
”Good evening Mr. Churchill,”
Lucien followed up with (letting his German accent loose in much the same way Churchill had his English Accent), tilting his head, seeing as he didn’t have a hat on to tilt. Tilting a toque would seem a little too strange. Lucien’s past life hats were much more fitting for one handed hat tilts. ”I have to agree. I surely didn’t expect a British Prime Minister to ever come knocking on my dorm room door. Though, I must say I also never considered living in a dorm room until this life,” He added with a shrug. ”Come in and make yourself comfortable,” Lucien offered. He was immediately falling back into the old routines of his first life in the presence of someone who also was from that same time period. It just felt more natural to Lucien than the way people handled things in today’s age. ”Can I get you anything? Tea, Coffee, something to snack on?” Lucien offered, closing the door behind the other.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words •649 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Nothing out of Nothing" by Great Big Sea ••

It wasn't as though most members of RSOR wanted to place themselves upon a higher pedestal than the rest of the school. To some extent they were above the rest of the school, simply by their nature, but Cornelius had absolutely no problem associating with normals. He even had a few friends that were normals. Cornelius knew that Anti-RSOR, and even some normals not affiliated with the group didn't like that RSOR kept their identity a secret and only admitted based on selective membership. What else could they do, though? It wasn't as though they could hold tryouts. To get into RSOR, you simply had to be what you were. There was no specific way that you could get into RSOR unless you, quite literally, died once and were born again. If Anti-RSOR knew this he doubted they would be quite so interested in joining. Though he wasn't even sure if they were interested in joining or just wanted to uncover the mystery. It was hard to tell with them. Once upon a time, Cornelius knew that Lucien had been amongst that group. While involved with Anti-RSOR, Lucien was just as much of a nuisance to RSOR as the rest of them. Now that he knew, now that he'd been accepted into their ranks owing to the state of his soul? Well, things were a little bit different. Truth was, Cornelius never actually hated Anti-RSOR. He found them to be an annoyance, yes, but he didn't hate them. He could understand where they were coming from, even if there was nothing he could do about it. The only two people he could ever say he actually hated were Adolf Hitler and Oz Jensen, and Oz just had a particular knack for getting under his skin. Even though they maintained the guise of friends, he could see through Oz's act, and he was pretty sure Oz could see through his. The two just did not get along for whatever reason. Cornelius wished to step inside as soon as possible. As a member of the leader's panel, he did not want to take any unnecessary risks, and standing in the hallway discussing such matters blatantly was sure to turn a few heads. He could pass off the introductions as playing a sort of game for the sake of their project, but if they were going to discuss the matter in more depth (as they obviously would, considering they were working on a project together and both lived through that time), he preferred to do it where no prying ears could overhear. "Well, a few years prior to this, I would not have expected to be paired up with a German general for a project, so it appears we're in the same boat." He figured that Lucien could connect the dots and would understand that to be a reference to RSOR. The leader's panel member took a seat when Lucien invited him to make himself comfortable, and watched as the other boy closed the door behind him. It was then that Cornelius let out an audible sigh of relief. "I'll have some tea, thank you." He answered, briefly glancing around to get a stock of where he was. He noted the books open on the table and could not help but smirk slightly. "Now, do we really need those? I suppose we do need to 'cite our sources', so to speak, but other than that..." They had other sources they could use... Word count: 596 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: Nope

can't make nothing out of nothing everybody needs a start… LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien was an antagonist by nature. He had loved those years spent pestering the British with all he had and with little in view to achieve. But he had achieved more than ever thought of him. Sure, the war was not taking place in Africa and it was just a minor stage in the scope of things, but who else had pester, irritated, pissed off and held up many British divisions that could have been on the western front. Germany may have lost the war, but in Africa, General von Lettow-Vorbeck had dominated. Africa was his domain and no one had bested his guerrilla warfare in the years that followed. Lucien had his own form of arrogance at this accomplishment but he didn’t boast about it, despite the feeling of superiority he sometimes got from recalling the experience.
It was then that he learned pissing people off was fun. In his first life he hadn’t done much more of that following WWI. He had opted out of WWII, his hatred for Hitler’s plans keeping him from getting involved in what he considered tomfoolery. Then it escalated to pure horrors and atrocities committed by the German people. That had tempered Lucien. General von Lettow-Vorbeck had never been so disappointed and disgusted with his own people. It certainly hampered his national pride. Much like the others who opposed what Hitler was doing, it was hard for him to fight back. He was being watched carefully by Hitler’s men and any active action would have put him in harm’s way. There wasn’t a day he regretted not acting on his initial feelings toward Hitler and tried to make a difference. He wouldn’t refuse to act on what’s right again.
Perhaps that was why he was so vicious with hassling RSOR about their secrets. He, much like others of Anti-RSOR, was angered by their exclusive nature. He had seen such activity before and it never ended well. Of course, that was before he became one of them and understood their need for secrecy. Then he felt honour bound to reverse the effects and make up for what he had previously done. Now, Anti-RSOR better watch their backs…General von Lettow-Vorbeck was on the case, and no one had bested him yet.
Lucien grinned, ”German General, British Prime Minister all from the same time period…I say we are not so different.”
Lucien offered. ”Though I must express that this particular boat we are both aboard is far larger than I ever expected. At least we have enough different talents to man every station.” He added on thoughtfully…. Lucien moved to the kitchen and made some tea, putting the tea leaves in a protective brewer and putting water to boil. Lucien walked back in, an amused grin on his face at the other’s response to the books. ”I dare say we don’t. However, I always find reading about myself and others I knew fascinating. As you say, we must ‘cite our sources’. I know these texts front to back so I can locate any proper quotations we may need.” He offered with a grin. The two young men had more in common than Cornelius would have thought at first glance at Lucien. Then again, first glances were very deceiving at Riverdale High. At first glance, no one would guess that many of their fellow students, and even staff, were people they'd learned about in their history classes. Even those who were members of RSOR sometimes had a hard time discerning the identities of their cohorts at first, which was why RSOR had recruiters and the leader's panel trained to scout out just such people. Sometimes regular members scouted out others, but usually it was the people specifically trained to keep their eyes out for signs that succeeded at it. Fortunately, there were usually signs. The fact that they'd caught a reincarnate in the mix of Anti-RSOR made him want to look twice, however. Some of their members were beyond any doubt normals. He knew both Tamara and Errol were, and he was fairly certain that Elise wasn't - She hadn't shown any signs growing up so far as he could see, and one would think that he would have caught something out of the ordinary if she were a reincarnate. Alison was a foil placed there by RSOR itself, so she didn't count. Lena, Kodi, and Aleksia he was still unsure on, however. He had his doubts that they were anything other than normals, but upon finding out that Lucien was a reincarnate, he figured he and his fellows ought to make sure. The last thing they wanted was a reincarnate lurking in the ranks of Anti-RSOR. Not just because RSOR wanted to give every reincarnate a safe place to be, but also because most reincarnates had skill sets above and beyond their physical age that benefited them. Did RSOR want those skill sets in Anti-RSOR? No way. That meant a greater chance of the secret being exposed, and almost no reincarnate wanted that. "Not so different at all, my good man." Cornelius admitted. This man might have been his foe during World War I, but all of that was behind them as far as Cornelius was concerned. The only issue that he could foresee was their likely differing views on the subject of national pride. Things might have changed for Lucien once Germany took a different path than he would have liked, but the general clearly supported his country during World War I, just as the former prime minister supported Great Britain's efforts. All that said and done, who said they couldn't engage in a little friendly debate? Cornelius for one was looking forward to it. "I think most of us in RSOR can agree with that sentiment. Once you meet more members you'll find that references crop up almost everywhere. You can be studying ancient history in your Humanities class, and you'll find several of your classmates referenced. It makes history projects a delight, I have to admit. I actually try and stay away from getting too closely to other RSOR members in projects, just to protect their identities, but getting information straight from the source can be a very useful tool." Cornelius grinned. "Fortunately, in this case, we don't even have to go searching. I'd say we possess a plethora of information on the subject just on our own. The best part being that we have information from two different sides of the conflict." That would suit them well. Word count: 596 To: Fred/Jez-E Notes: Nope

can't make nothing out of nothing everybody needs a start… LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== First glances at Riverdale were well compared to “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. Cornelius Cox didn’t look like an old, bald, politician, but he had once been that. Just like Lucien had once been an old, bald general. Reincarnation meant that many were not as they seemed, and as strange as that was, Lucien found that reality to be far from confusing, seeing as he was living it. He didn’t doubt people when they said fantastic things and instead he drew attention to them in RSOR. It was very different in this life, and not just because of the time difference. In this life, he was in on a huge secret, and one that his skills were now being used to keep.
Lucien didn’t often think about Reincarnates being found in Anti-RSOR. Sure, he had been, but the differences was that Kodi, Errol and Tamara were all completely at a loss for what RSOR was, and all of them lacked any unusual skills they employed to try to figure it out. Lucien had used his cunning and adoration for organized chaos against RSOR on several occasions. Kodi, Tamara and Errol on the other hand lacked subtlety and that alone suggested to him they were not reincarnates. He had known them well enough to be positive of Errol and Tamara, Kodi being new meant he wasn’t as sure, but he was fairly positive about her too, given her reasons for being in Anti-RSOR.
Lucien did however think along one similar track of Cornelius’ thinking. Having reincarnates against RSOR and trying to uncover them or reveal them was a very upfront fear and concern. Not just in Anti-RSOR but also otherwise. Lucien’s greater caution came from RSOR itself. He had thought a lot about RSOR since joining and he had many concerns that some in RSOR who have less to fear from being revealed may one day do just that. He was cautious and liked to cover his bases, and that was one situation he felt he had to consider.
Lucien smiled and nodded his head. ”We did what we had to for our countries and hoped for a greater future. Sadly, my country was blinded by paranoia and good intentions turned rotten. At least for the Great War. Now, Hitler’s is a different story, in that I am very glad your Country won the War.”
Lucien added, unintentionally answering Churchill’s unspoken thought. For Paul, Hitler had been less than trash. When Hitler had approached him for an Ambassador position, he had been sure to shut it down and quite rudely. Lucien could at least say about his past that he regretted his inactivity. He should have moved against Germany in those days, and surely many would have followed him. That war had brought great loss, and even Paul had lost much. He could still remember the feeling of grief at losing his two sons to such a horrible and dishonourable cause. He was not ashamed of them, so much as proud they followed the orders given and disappointed in himself for not showing them that it was a war not worth fighting. Lucien grinned in amusement when Cornelius expressed his belief that most of RSOR would agree with Lucien. ”I imagine so. History becomes a thing of fascination with this much activity routed in different parts of history to draw new experience from. I am sure none of us anticipated a second life, let alone meeting others with the same situation. Some strange power is at work here in Riverdale.” Lucien mentioned. Lucien smiled at the beauty of their situation. ”I would agree that our information should be more than enough. We can both provide what we know from our country and our alliances within the war and see where that takes us. Though, I must say there is enough sources to get a decent picture from those who wrote about their experiences after the war, I am very intrigued to hear it from the perspective of a Politician higher in the command order. I was very much in a segment more than a chair of all encompassing information.” Lucien offered. What he didn’t say was that he’d disobeyed his orders, fought a part of the war all on his own with no direction from Berlin and even without frequent and definitive Intel from the main force had managed to do amazing things in WWI. It was all not worth mention but it did make their positions different, just as much as their allegiances. Lucien placed the mug of tea in front of Churchill and a mug on his side, also going back to the kitchen for a moment before coming back out with sugar and milk for the tea. He preferred his black, but brought them in case Churchill preferred otherwise. It was very true that in Riverdale, things often weren't what they seemed. There were hints, but thus far there were very people people outside of RSOR who realized just how much was lurking barely hidden underneath their noses. That said, Cornelius also realized that other reincarnates had to remain hidden for a reason as well, and he was very much concerned about the idea that a reincarnate may be hidden in an area where even RSOR wouldn't initially think to look. If it weren't for Lucien's recruit, he never would have thought about looking to Anti-RSOR for possible recruits. Now? He was going to keep an extra close eye on them. "I think that can be applied to a number of wars, sadly." Cornelius mused in response to Lucien's comment about the first World War. That said, he felt even more strongly toward World War II, and was only mildly surprised when Lucien agreed that Hitler was in the wrong. "As am I, General." Cornelius agreed, deciding to use Lucien's formal dress rather than his address in this life, given the nature of their conversation. "There was no choice but war in the Second World War, I feel. The Great War had more shades of gray looking back at it, but the Second War? I don't feel that any attempts at negotiations would have worked with Hitler." There was a reason, after all, why Hitler had entered the list of history's greatest villains, reaching one of the top spots (and probably the top spot for recent history). "I can't say I'm disappointed he hasn't joined the ranks of RSOR, and I hope he never does." Cornelius agreed there was a strange power at work in Riverdale. "There is. We're not sure what it is, but it's something we, and leader's panel members of the past, have tried to look into. It remains as elusive, though, as the reasons why we were reincarnated in the first place. It just is what it is, and universe doesn't seem inclined to provide an explanation any time soon." He smiled when Lucien shared with him the grounds they could cover with their assignment. "I would be interested to know your perspective as well." It would certainly help to make their project more thorough. Cornelius might have struggled with school the first time around, but in this life he was determined to not let life get the upperhand again. He already knew that he could make it, and thus found it easier to forge on. Though it being his second life made a considerable amount of difference. He watched as Lucien set down the tea, fetching a bit of sugar for himself before shaking it into his tea and mixing it with his spoon. "I usually go black, but I feel like such an occasion calls for a bit of a treat." Cornelius grinned, stating the former as casually as if he would in a normal conversation. Which was part of the humor, as this was anything but a normal conversation for two high school students. Though at Riverdale High, 'normal' was a very subjective concept, even more so than most high schools... Word count: 566 To: Lucien/Jez-E Notes: Nope

can't make nothing out of nothing everybody needs a start… LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien felt it wasn’t his job to seek out recruits. If he found someone by accident he wouldn’t hesitate to inform Isa, Corny, Fred or even Oliver; someone who could be far better for the recruiting process. Lucien’s personality could be often seen as abrasive and he wasn’t exactly someone who made you want to confide your secrets to him. He wasn’t even actively thinking about where to look for reincarnates and he couldn’t be bothered to try.
Lucien nodded. ”Most wars are fought of land and religion. Some over ideals and others over something that never really existed. Men pay the price, while governments bark the orders. No offense intended...”
Lucien added, remembering that technically Corny was government not soldier. ”I am just grateful that today’s world learned from the two great wars for the most part and has begun making the world a new and preventing mandatory conscription where possible. I was a willing soldier but many men were afraid, being brought in by force instead of choice.” Lucien added, looking a little solemn. Lucien couldn’t help the feeling of satisfaction at being addressed by his military title. ”Any negotiations at the beginning of the war told us as much. Prime Minister Chamberlain was a fool to think that Hitler could be appeased by a few small slices of land. I am pleased that you saw right through the ploy from the beginning. You were certainly the man Britain needed, it’s a pity you were not able to remain in office until the dispute was over...” Lucien offered, genuinely disappointed that the only man who saw the truth was removed from office before victory came about but yet was so instrumental in that victory being achieved. It was a brutal injustice in his eyes. Lucien’s eyes and face darkened a moment. ”If he became a member of RSOR he wouldn’t last more than a week. I’d make sure of that. That man doesn’t deserve a second chance let alone the respect and honour that RSOR is to be a part of. He committed terrible atrocities and escaped justice through suicide...I’d be sure the world was rid of him before he had an opportunity to commit further ruin.” Lucien said, his words honest and his heart in it. He would stake his honour on those words. Having nothing much to say on the topic of the universe’s nature, finding that Churchill had said it all, Lucien let that part of the conversation drop. Lucien grinned in amusement as the former Prime Minister put in a bit of sugar. ”I’d hate to see what a binge is...” Lucien said sarcastically amused that Corny thought a bit of sugar was a treat. ”Sugar was hard to come by back then and I learned to go without. Now I find I prefer to go without.” Lucien offered, taking a sip of his tea. ”Now where do we start Prime Minister? Shall we just take accounts of the war and combine them after the fact or do a vivid comparison within the presentation of the information?” He offered. Listening to Lucien's assessment of war, Cornelius simply shrugged. "None taken. War is a lot more complex than those who haven't experienced it understand. Both on the battlefield and off." Cornelius looked over at Lucien. He didn't mean to downplay Lucien's accomplishments, of course, and he intended to tell the other young man such. "I have much respect for what you and others on the battlefield did. You might have been on the 'other side' during the Great War, so to speak, but you did valiantly, and your victories in Africa were well-earned." Part of this was simply diplomacy, which Cornelius had a lot of experience with in both lives, but he meant it as well. He did respect what Lucien had done. The man had gone undefeated. He had to be doing something right...no, more than right. The man had skills was what he had. Cornelius shook his head at the subject of Hitler. It was one that they both clearly felt strongly on, and with good reason too. "I could tell that his aspirations were a bit higher than a few chunks of land." He took a sip of his tea and let out a sigh. "I saw that move as akin to allowing a small child a candy bar after he has a temper tantrum. It may solve the immediate problem, but it leads to a much larger one down the road. The child will develop the impression that he deserves more candy, and his tantrums will grow larger and larger." It felt a bit strange comparing Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany to a child, but he felt that in this case, the analogy fit. You didn't just cave into someone's request, or else they came to expect it. Hence why the world ended up at war. Chamberlain just delayed the inevitable. "I am quite sure that you would not be the only one who would feel that way, General." He sipped his tea once more. "How would you propose ridding the world of him again without causing major headaches, however?" Cornelius looked over at the former German general. "I greatly appreciate the idea of Hitler serving justice for every atrocity he committed, but there are immense difficulties in carrying that out. Were we ever to come across Hitler in our ranks, we would have to tread carefully." Very carefully. It would definitely be something discussed within the leader's panel straight away. "I assure you that I will inform you if such a thing happens, however." While all of RSOR would likely find out eventually, the fact remained that there were certain people within RSOR who would need to be informed first if Hitler reared his ugly head. The leader's panel, of course, and any other military figures from around that time period. Cornelius considered Lucien to be a part of that small group who would learn after the leader's panel, but prior to the rest of RSOR if such a thing did happen. He was drawn out of his reverie by Lucien's next question, bringing them back to their initial purpose for meeting up. "How about a mixture of both?" He proposed. can't make nothing out of nothing everybody needs a start… LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien found his respect for Corny was growing. Part of his respect came from the man’s achievements; things that Lucien was more than informed about, given the time period of his first life. Hearing that the man understood that a soldier’s life and a politicians’ were different, and that while the politician was safe in his office, the soldier’s life was always on the line as they fought. Lucien also appreciated the reminder that the decision making process wasn’t easy either. ”I find that on the political end, the decisions made are known to affect so many lives that it must be a difficult task in its own right. I am not saying the politicians are not fighting a war, for they are just as much as the soldiers, and the importance of the home front in war was made all the more evident in WWI and WWII. The very reason they were deemed Total Wars. But what I am saying, is many politicians, not all of them, but many of them...they forget just who loses their lives and whose blood is shed.”
Lucien explained further, removing any chance that his own comment had made insult to the Prime Minister. ”Thank you sir, I appreciate the compliment.” Lucien replied, slipping back into the proper formalities for addressing a superior. Militarily, Corny had been above Lucien’s station, even if Corny himself was not military. By being so close to the top of the government in those times left him the due respects of the military, even if Lucien’s military was against Corny. ”The Tommy’s who fought in East Africa were valiant men as well; All of them fighting for the same thing we were in the end. It’s too bad really...” Lucien added. Hitler was a topic both of them could agree on. Then again, who in their right minds couldn’t agree on it. ”Thank God that you did. I can’t imagine if no one had fought back as your country did. I didn’t want to see Hitler’s dream become reality, even then I had suspected, but I didn’t realize the scale of what he would do. I am both disgusted and proud of the Germany Military. I am proud as the men followed orders as they should, but disgusted that the orders followed by some were so unsavoury. My own two sons, Rüdiger and Arnd died in that war, and I sometimes feel that it was in vain as they were fighting on the wrong side.” Lucien admitted grimly. He loved both of his boys, and he was still proud of them, despite everything. He just hoped they didn’t perform any of the dirty tasks that so many soldiers of the Germany army performed before their deaths. Lucien smirked at Churchill’s analogy. ”I think that description is quite fitting. It’s too bad everyone indulged him so long. Without the United States, Russia, Canada and of course, your Great Britain the world would have been lost and a great people ruined,” Lucien admitted. He didn’t bring up the fact that after that war he had nothing left. Everything was destroyed in that war. He lost his home to bombing and his sons to war. Lucien had almost forgotten about his own tea and took a sip, noting that it wasn’t quite as hot as it was before. ”You wouldn’t like my initial idea. I’d have to put more thought into it... Naturally my first instinct is kill him before he can do anything more. But I must say, that would be quite detrimental to my second life. If there was no other option I’d do it just the same. I’ll not see another massacre and I’ll not see my friends, family or even total strangers put at risk by that man.” Lucien explained his eyes darkening. Generally Lucien was almost child-like in his pestering. He irritated Anti-RSOR with a pure delight almost like a child. It was light-hearted if a bit close to bullying. But this, he meant in a darker way. This was the soldier coming out, not the person who used the soldier’s skills. Lucien considered the other options. ”That man was clever. I don’t see him being fool enough to do the same thing twice. But I do know, he couldn’t be allowed to wander free. He couldn’t be allowed anywhere near politics, education and any other form of influential position. It’d be dangerous, even in today’s world. But I have to hope that today they’ve learned enough from WWII to prevent a second coming...or a WWIII.” Lucien added. ”I just desperately hope it never comes to that. I hope that God would not give him a second chance. He doesn’t deserve one.” Lucien insisted. Lucien nodded his agreement to the proposed process for their project. ”Sounds like an idea. So use a bit of both, fact and comparison. We have all the resources we could need after all. Two experts, some text books to quote for academic integrity purposes and snacks...” Lucien offered, his playful grin back now that less serious discussion had presented itself.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 848 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Nothing out of Nothing" by Great Big Sea ••

As Lucien continued with his explanation, Cornelius listened politely. Once again, he had to agree with the other young man's assessment. He was not insulted in the least, and was rather interested to hear the viewpoints from someone in another realm of war. Neither of them were new to war, but they'd been in different areas of the battle, to be sure. Cornelius couldn't help but smile as Lucien addressed him as sir. It wasn't often that he was addressed as such nowadays, and it brought back a bit of nostalgia. People still respected him as a leader in RSOR for the most part, but it was a lot different than leading a country through the Second World War. Nevertheless, he tried his best to use the fact that he'd led before to his advantage, and use lessons that he learned back in the 1940s on this smaller scale club that he shared the leadership of now. Mistakes were still made - Reincarnates or not, the leaders of RSOR were still humans - but the fact remained that most of them had led in some capacity before, and with some success. That certainly helped them out in the long run. "There is no need to call me sir. We are on an even playing field now. I appreciate your token of respect, though." Cornelius lifted his tea as if to toast Lucien before he took another drink. It seemed like the right thing to do. As much as he appreciated reliving his old title, he and Lucien were but two students in high school at this point in time. Cornelius was no longer higher up in rank than Lucien, unless one counted his leadership role in RSOR. Cornelius' polite smile slipped into a frown when Lucien acknowledged that two of his sons died fighting for the Germans in World War II. "My condolences, General." Cornelius stated with a frown. Even though it was a past life loss, Cornelius had to imagine that Lucien still felt the pain at times. Just the fact that he was mentioning it now, decades later, pretty much proved that. It certainly didn't help that Lucien clearly never supported the cause of Nazi Germany in the first place, and therefore must have felt as though his sons died in vain. He even stated as such. Cornelius couldn't help but smile slightly as Lucien listed off several Allied countries and mentioned their contributions to World War II. Cornelius was happy to hear his own country as the first one mentioned. Yes, he had pride for his country in this life, but he was Winston Churchill. He'd always have pride for his Great Britain as well. It was the country he'd led, after all, though he wouldn't be entirely against running for such an office again, this time on the other side of the ocean. He'd done it once before with success. Cornelius could not help but smirk as Lucien stated that he wouldn't like his first idea. "Oh believe me, my first idea and your first idea are not all that different." Cornelius couldn't deny that the thought of simply getting rid of Hitler before he gained power again had crossed his mind. He took a sip of his tea and sighed. "There are consequences to those actions, though. That's why it's something that must be deliberated upon. My hope is that we don't come across him at all, though, to be fair. That is far more of a headache than I really want to face this early in my second life." He chuckled. That was exactly what Adolf Hitler's presence in RSOR would be too - A major headache. Relishing the opportunity for a lighter conversation, Cornelius returned Lucien's grin. "Everything we need. Should we get to it, then?" Cornelius reached out and grabbed a book. While they didn't really need the book, it didn't hurt to have sources on paper, and he figured they might as well get that out of the way. Word count: 695 To: Lucien/Jez-E Notes: Nope
