she's everything you dream about... but don't fall in love... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== General Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck or one Lucien Sharp was sitting comfortably in an arm chair in the second floor common room. He had his stuff sprawled all across the room and was working quite vigilantly on his math. Considering his personality and how he often came across it was a bit unusual to find him picking away at homework in a common area instead of his dorm room, but his roommates had needed the room. So here he was, his homework laid out before him as he punched away at a calculator. Math was easy enough for Lucien to grasp. Math, Geography, History, Chemical Sciences Drama, Gym and English were all simple topics for him. Though, English he had to remember to be careful about how he worded things, seeing as he was more inclined to write formally. It was an old habit.
Lucien had been at Riverdale for a year and a bit now, and throughout it he had gained a reputation for being a bit of an antagonistic trouble maker. He liked to cause trouble, get a rise out of people and most importantly he adored being able to manipulate people into mischief. He was clever and witty in how he went about his actions and he’d spent months antagonizing known RSOR members, and especially Leader’s Panel members just because he had the power to do that. Lucien loved a good excuse to bother someone or get a reaction out of someone and that had made his name quite decently known.
Though, recently he had been recruited and wasn’t so inclined to bother RSOR members anymore. He suddenly saw things very differently. He had targeted the club because of its exclusive nature. Now that he was in it he understood the reason for the exclusiveness and he also knew it was hard enough for them without his pestering constantly. Though that didn’t mean he had stopped entirely. Lucien was born to pester people and that wasn’t about to change.
Lucien leaned back in his chair, his head hanging off the back of it. It was evening, which meant that the common rooms were generally empty. He had watched several other students leave earlier that evening and didn’t mind the quiet. In fact, after the events of war it was peaceful. Lucien could appreciate the quiet and just listening to the gentle silence. He wasn’t expecting anyone otherwise his things would be more compacted to one area of the room. He closed his eyes just listening for a few minutes when he heard the door click. Now who would be around at this hour?

Homework wasn't one of Freya's favorite activities, but she knew that it had to be done. It would also, hopefully, get her mind off of the boy that she'd met at the dance. She didn't want to admit to herself, let alone to him, that she actually found him enchanting and charming in a way that she had yet to find any boy in this life. Part of her just wanted to brush off her doubts, but they were too deeply engrained for her to rid herself of them that easily. After her disastrous marriage in her past life, she'd resolved that she never wanted to get involved in a serious relationship again. ...well, no, that wasn't entirely true. It wasn't that she didn't want to. She just didn't want to be hurt again. It wasn't as though she'd been completely innocent in the relationship either, but it was hard to be faithful yourself when you were well aware that the one you were married to wasn't faithful. Nevertheless, it had been extremely low to start an affair with her sister. Despite her insistence in her past life that she did not want to come back, she did want to make the best of this opportunity. While it gave her a lot of inspiration for her paintings, her first life was largely miserable after the age of eighteen, when she was in the streetcar crash. She'd managed to escape that thus far in this life, and didn't want to settle down with someone only to have it end in misery again. Perhaps the most ironic part of all was that while Freya was afraid didn't want to settle down with a husband, she did want to have a child. She'd been robbed of that opportunity in her past life, having gotten pregnant but lacking the ability to carry it to term because of her accident. Her accident. It all started with that accident. What had she done to deserve that? Freya decided to head to the second floor commons. She'd finished most of her regular homework and figured she would get started on a project for art class, the assignment out of all of her homework that interested her the most by far. She'd expected to be alone in the common room this time of night, with most either in their dorms, out somewhere, or at home if they didn't board. Instead, she was greeted by the one person she both wanted to see and wanted to avoid. She swore under her breath in Spanish, yet forged forward nonetheless, taking a seat at a chair across the room. If her suspicions were correct, he would likely venture across the room to bother her anyway, but it would be his decision to make, not hers. If he wanted her, he'd have to come get her himself. she's everything you dream about... but don't fall in love... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien had always been half decent at shifting his focus when he had goals to reach. If there was a goal that was unattainable at the time then he’d focus on the simpler goal. It was through this method he had gone through WWI without ever failing and being defeated. He didn’t look at it as “I am going to defeat the Tommies” he looked at it as “I am going to keep some Tommies busy and give my fellow Germans a better chance” or even simpler to “I will survive today and irritate some Tommies while I am at it”. Lucien was and always would be a man of action and achievements.
One of his more recent goals had become the attentions and affections of a girl he met at the dance. She’d made a challenge and directed it toward him and he was now very much enthralled. A woman who challenged him, was beautiful and didn’t accept anything without a touch of caution…Yes, she was a very intriguing goal indeed. Hell, she’d even implied she hoped to see him again, but not without daring him to do his best to woe her. Honestly he didn’t usually think about his manners and just habitually behaved a particular way, but she had him contemplating those actions and how best to draw her in or out as it were.
So naturally, when he saw her walk in he didn’t do any dramatic responses, he merely made note of her and smiled to himself. He gave her a moment to get settled before he placed his pencil and work book down on the floor next to the chair, got up and walked over and stopped a few feet from her. ”Would you mind if I joined you, Freya?”
he asked, his smile not only natural because it was her sitting there but also because of his anticipation of the challenge ahead. He had motioned to the chair to indicate that he intended to sit down if she gave the okay, if not, he’d understand she wasn’t up for the game of hard-to-get tonight. He waited considering how best to proceed depending on both possible answers. He wasn’t going to go out of his way to do things he wouldn’t naturally do, seeing as that would defeat the point of pursuing someone you wanted to take out for an evening or perhaps more after that initial date. He needed her to see who he really was, and be sure she was aware that he as genuine. He didn’t want to play and deceitful games. It was much more interesting when all parties involved were honest. It also made the options of how to do things and what to say more difficult, seeing as liars could say anything they pleased, even if it lacked substance. Lucien couldn’t ever see himself as a genuine liar, though he’d lied for greater purposes and was quite good at appearing honest in his deception. It was a skill he had needed in the past and it was quite well developed considering how unwilling he often was to use it.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Freya Dimas-Ivanez •• •• Words • 521 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "She’s a Beauty" by The Tubes ••

It wasn't actually Lucien's feelings toward her that bothered Freya, but in fact her feelings toward him. If he were just hitting on her, it would be no big deal. She didn't mind flirting or even small flings, although she certainly didn't want to go around with everything that walked either. She had standards, and Lucien did fit them, but what bothered her was that she could see him as more than a fling. The two of them had most certainly hit it off at the Christmas dance. She'd enjoyed talking to him there, playing their little word games as well as their game of cat and mouse. She enjoyed it so much that she wouldn't mind doing it again. The last person she'd felt this way toward...Freya found it hard to even think about that. She loved Diego, she'd known what he was like going into a marriage with him, yet she still went through with it anyway. Maybe she hoped that he would settle down with her? She wasn't innocent either, she had her affairs too, but only because he had his first. She also hadn't gone so low as to sleep with his sibling and confidant. Hearing that he and Cristina were involved was a devastating blow to Frida, and she still felt a boiling mixture of emotions whenever she thought back to it. One thing was for sure - She never wanted to see Diego again. Not only because of what happened with their on again off again relationship...but because she was afraid that it might happen all over again. As expected, the young man from the dance came over to join her. She wasn't sure whether to be amused at the fact that she'd been correct in her assumptions, or annoyed, so instead she wore a slight smirk on her face, not looking up to acknowledge him at all as she continued reading her book. In fact, if anything, she looked at the book even more intently, exaggeratedly, to get a response out of him in order to see where he stood. As it turned out, this was unnecessary, as he spoke up nonetheless, and Freya finally dropped her guise and looked up at him. "If that's what ya feel you need to do, be my guest. Be honest with me though...did you really want company or was it only because I was the one who walked through the door? You looked pretty content just sitting there on your own." This might have made Freya sound a bit full of herself, but in fact she had plenty of self-doubt. It was bravado, plain and simple...well, that and the fact that it was pretty darn obvious he'd been flirting with her at the dance. She wasn't stupid, after all. He was interested in her, she was interesting in him, but she was scared as hell to do anything about it. Word count: 495 To: Lucien/Jez-E Notes: Ayup

she's everything you dream about... but don't fall in love... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien was finding Freya more and more intriguing to him every time she tried to dodge his attentions. Now, it would have been different if she had told him “no” or “back off” he would at her request. But her dodging with the taunts and witty comments, that was more encouragement for him to keep trying than anything. She had made pursuing her a game and that in itself intrigued and interested Lucien more than anything else. He loved a challenge and a competition and she was being that and giving him that. Someone with wit of their own who liked to play some games was always worth pursuing in his books.
Lucien was unaware of Freya’s history and had since tried to figure out who she was. He had a few possible candidates still to who she could be. As such he hadn’t yet narrowed things down. He was currently unaware of her relationship problems, nor her history. For him this was a competition and a game, and not nearly as emotionally connected to the past. Though, his past had shaped his personality. He wouldn’t understand her feelings in this and as much as he enjoyed the contest of pursuing her, one word and he’d leave her be.
Lucien couldn’t help the amused smile that spread across his face as he noted her attempt to just ignore him. That made him all the more determined to speak with her today. Part of it was his inner antagonist, part of it was his desire to spend more time with her and have more of her attention. He was heavily entertained at the level of intention in her reading.
Lucien’s amused smirk only grew when she asked the next question. He didn’t see her as full of herself, but as pleasantly snarky, amusing and as a challenge. ”I would have been content to remain working on my school work, depending upon who entered. The fact that you entered is certainly a large motivator to pester you…though I can think of other people who I would speak to, though none of them are quite so lovely.”
He was referring of course to his friends. ”Naturally, if you ever wish me to just leave, I will bid you farewell and be on my way.” He offered, opening his arms outward in an almost defensive gesture and partly stepping back. His face dared her to ask him to go, even though he had no desire to leave.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Freya Dimas-Ivanez •• •• Words • 413 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "She’s a Beauty" by The Tubes ••

The reason why Freya had not told Lucien to back off yet was simple - She didn't really want him to back off. She enjoyed the attention from him. To some extent this was a game of cat and mouse for her as well, though there was absolutely no doubt that her past experiences played a part in her hesitancy. It was no small part either. She knew that he could figure out what she was doing. She knew that he wasn't stupid, and that he could easily tell that she wasn't acknowledging him on purpose. Fortunately for both of them, he opted to press forward, or else this conversation would be over before it started. Freya closed her book and returned her full attention to Lucien, the corners of her mouth still playing at that smirk. "Aha, so it is because of me. Tell me though, would you come up to all girls for a chat, or am I a special case?" This was to some extent her putting him on the spot as part of the 'game', but even more an attempt to get to know what his true intentions were. She was watching his nonverbals very closely at this. She'd already been taken once, and the last thing she wanted was to be taken again. When Lucien called her lovely, it certainly did make her feel nice (and he was, admittedly, quite lovely to her himself). She just wasn't so sure that he wasn't using it as a line to get in her pants, and she wasn't about to get used and thrown out like some old toy. It was fine as long as she was a willing player, and she usually was. She was interested in more with Lucien, though, and if he took her for the fool...she'd never forgive him. More importantly, though, she'd never forgive herself for letting it happen again. Her eyebrow quirked up at his nonverbal dare. No, she didn't want him to leave, and it seemed as though he was calling her out on that. How dare he! She wasn't really outraged, however. This, too, was amusing in it's own right. She was toying with him, and he was toying with her right back. She had to give him credit for understanding how this worked, and making his own moves. Of course, Freya had no intent to respond with a 'no, don't go!'. That wasn't her style. "Leaving so soon? Really? But you just came over here...you can't tell me you just came over here to say hello and then leave again. That wouldn't make any sense. You could have just called out across the room." There. She wasn't saying she wanted him to stay, but she wasn't saying she wanted him to leave either. Which was about where she actually stood at the moment. Word count: 489 To: Lucien/Jez-E Notes: Ayup

she's everything you dream about... but don't fall in love... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien was no fool. He was more aware than Freya knew. He assumed she didn’t really want him to walk away simply based on her mannerisms and her stance with him. He didn’t understand the reasons naturally, but he did understand the basic mechanics and her approach was a huge part of how he was approaching things. He wanted her attentions more and more as she denied him and turned him away. This wasn’t just because of the thrill of a challenge but also because he felt her underlying tones and he was very curious as to what was turning her mind from trying. She wasn’t taking any risks and Lucien was a fan of taking risks and beating the odds.
Lucien was very pleased when she closed the book and gave him her full attention. He kept the feeling from showing of course, but he counted that as a small victory. Every move and every comment meant something and he was certainly reading into the action of shutting the book. She was interested in him, and that said as much, it was just a matter of what she was willing to do about it.
Lucien couldn’t help the pleasure that snuck onto his face when she asked her first question. ”Naturally I am not rude enough to turn down pleasant conversation with pre-existing friends, but you are most certainly a special case. With you I find I can resist myself, whether it is pestering you or pursuing you is to be determined by your own intentions.”
He offered, not even missing a beat. It was honest, and it was flattering. Lucien was aware of the effects words could have but also of the reactions honesty could cause. Though from there his posture and expression didn’t change, he was very interested in her reaction. He made sure to keep eye contact as he awaited a response. Lucien was intrigued with Freya’s reaction to his challenge. It was the perfect response. It was aloof, apathetic but also using logic to make him stay. Clever, clever girl. Lucien nodded his head gracefully in agreement. ”I’d no intention of leaving, as I didn’t really expect you to send me away,” He agreed. ”So what does that piece of knowledge make this? Is it a conversation between friends? Strictly a game we are both playing? Or is it something else entirely?” he inquired, giving her the chance to decide what exactly they were to one another. Lucien already knew she was someone who intrigued him and toyed with him which made her someone he desired. He knew he didn’t need to say as much however, and as such she may take the questions as rhetoric and he wouldn’t be surprised. If Lucien knew what Freya was like around friends, he'd be even more intrigued, most likely. Freya normally wasn't so reserved and standoffish. In fact, she had quite the party animal reputation around her closest friends. Normally going off with a guy for a heated make-out session was nothing for her. That said, she had yet to go further with anyone. A lot of it had to do with her age, but some of it had to do with dignity as well. With Lucien it was different. She could hit on guys she hardly knew (and some that she did know pretty well) and have short flings with them all that she wanted, but something was stopping her from doing that with Lucien. A bit of her flirtatious nature did come through, but for the most part she was keeping him at a distance. Again, it had less to do with him and more to do with her own feelings. Sure, she recognized plain as day that he was pursuing her. She also recognized that, to some extent, her own hesitance was drawing him closer. Fact of the matter was, she wasn't so sure what she wanted herself. Freya had feelings for Lucien that went past the usual fling, but did she want to acknowledge them? Did she want let them see the light of day? There was a chance that everything would work out right (and Freya dearly hoped for this one), but there was also a chance that it could end up as it had with Diego. This was one risk, quite possibly the only risk in this lifetime that she was unsure that she was willing to take. Freya made sure to keep eye contact as well. "I guess we'll see how this conversation goes. Regardless of whether it's a bother or a pleasure to have you here, you're here now, so we might as well try to make the best of it." It was a mixture of both if Freya was honest with herself, but this conversation could be used to her advantage on that front. She could find out information about Lucien, find out if there was enough there to actually pursue this herself. She had to admit it was tempting... He posed a very good question with his next one. "Somewhere between both, I'd say." Freya responded after about thirty seconds or so of contemplation. The fact of the matter was that Freya wouldn't mind Lucien as a friend no matter where the dice fell, but did she want him as a lover? An actual lover, instead of the boy toys she was used to finding herself with in this life? "Is there any subject you want to discuss?" Well, he was the one who approached her... she's everything you dream about... but don't fall in love... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== It’s true that if Lucien knew just how different she was around him, he would take it as a sign that she was more interested than he thought she was. He was not easily deterred from a challenge and she was presenting the most irresistible challenge of them all; a beautiful woman who is flirtatiously playing hard to get. Lucien was in love with her already...but in all seriousness he wanted to get to know her too. He wanted someone who could toy with him, play games with him and hold her own in his twisted world of teasing and avoiding straight answers. He was intrigued by her, because she fit that part of the bill, but he needed to be sure there was more than that to it if they were to have that kind of relationship; for example did she even like him back. Anything can be an act after all.
Lucien also wanted her to get to know him, and so far that part was taking a bit of work. He was almost positive she did want to get to know him but yet was resisting it with all her being. Further intrigue that had him hooked like a fish on a line. He wanted to know why, but he would never allow himself to ask. It would come out by observation or in a more natural way. Until then he could enjoy playing the flirty games with her, for at least as long as she would allow them.
Lucien let the playful grin out over his face as she answered very evasively but at the same time didn’t deny him staying. That was a clever answer, very very clever and now he had to work out his retort. He wasn’t so sure he wanted to comment further on that, for it could be dangerous to give her a reason to change her mind. So instead of saying something supremely witty he followed with a ”If that is what the beautiful lady wants...”
and a bow of his head toward her in respect. It was far from mocking and was very genuine. Of course that didn’t mean she would take it that way. Lucien smirked in approval as she answered, glad she took time to think about it. ”That is quite fair. That also leaves potential for it to become one or the other naturally...I assume you do not yet have a preference for which path the conversation takes?” he asked, trying to work out where he was standing and how hard he would have to work for this. He hoped he really had to bust tail to get this to work. Everything worth having required great effort and persistence after all. ”I would love to discuss you but I feel that may be a bit too intimate to start with. How about hobbies? You mentioned before an interest and stock in art. Is there art outside of your movement that you enjoy? Perhaps more than just visual arts? Music? Theatre?” he offered. He smiled gently, ”In all politeness I shall go first. It’s not polite to ask without telling after all. I enjoy art from many movements, modern art in particular, though I am particular keen on expressionism. If I had to select a taste in music I would say I favour classical and swing music...something you can dance gracefully or more erratically too, even if I am a terrible dancer. Theatre has always been mildly boring to me...” He offered. ”But I already know this about myself, I would much rather hear more about you...” He said, letting the conversation move back to her. He wanted to know about her, and this was the best way to learn something. He’d be taking mental notes for future use.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Freya Dimas-Ivanez •• •• Words • 632 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "She’s a Beauty" by The Tubes ••

It would be hard for Freya to tell Lucien that she liked him when she was hardly willing to admit it to herself. The feeling was there, but she was doing her best to try not to acknowledge it. At the same time? She didn't want to drive Lucien away either. She wanted him around, but she wanted to keep him at a distance until she had him figured out. Until she had herself figured out. Freya couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the beautiful lady comment, but if Lucien looked close enough, he would notice a faint blush cropping up on her cheeks. This, like everything else with Lucien, brought a mixed reaction in the sophomore. She was flattered, of course, but also wary. Did he really mean that, or was he mocking her? His tone didn't suggest that, so it wasn't very likely, but it was still a concern. Moreover, he might have been genuine as he could be, but was he only saying it to get in her pants? "That was my thought exactly. Let the conversation guide us, not the other way around." It was also quite literally a way for her to feel things out without diving in head first. Deciding straight away meant committing to a certain direction in this conversation. It also meant committing to a certain sort of relationship with him, and she wasn't sure what kind she wanted. She certainly didn't want him to go away, but did she want him the same way that he wanted her? Could she get over this wall that she'd built for herself? Was he even worth trying to do so for? She considered it to be far too early to decide, and hence why they were having this conversation in the first place. She'd been an artist in both her past life and this one, and so the direction of conversation made sense. However, it did seem nice that he was taking her into consideration with the conversation. One thing she had to note about Diego was that he rather enjoyed talking about himself. She had the idea that Lucien did as well, but this also showed that he was willing to let the spotlight fall on someone else. And Freya did like being appreciated. "I actually don't much like the movement I've been associated with, to be honest." She shook her head. "Surrealism was said to be painting your dreams, but I wasn't painting my dreams. I was painting my reality as I perceived it." She considered the rest of his side of the conversation. "I do enjoy swing music. Most classical is a little too slow for my liking. I enjoy the club music of today as well." A small hint as to what crowd she belonged in in this life, but would he pick up on it? Word count: 499 To: Lucien/Jez-E Notes: Ayup

she's everything you dream about... but don't fall in love... LUCIEN SHARP ==================================== Lucien made comments in honesty, and meant them as well. Part of it was indeed conscious flattery, as it was clear to him that women enjoyed flattery. Part of it was that he indeed thought that a pretty woman deserved to know she was pretty, as long as it wasn’t enough for it to go to her head. An arrogant woman was far from beautiful after all, as was an arrogant man truth be told. Hence, Lucien skirted the line and tried to remain confident and not arrogant, not that he always succeeded.
Lucien didn’t notice the reaction to his comment, having not really been looking for it. The comment was just popped out, not done with the intent to observe. For the moment, that one went unnoticed and uncommented on. Naturally, Lucien didn’t really think in terms of what he could appear to be doing. It wasn’t unusual for guys in any time period to flatter just to get a woman to bed. Lucien, though he was capable of thinking like that, didn’t usually think with his basement brain. As such, though she was unaware of it yet, Freya had no need to fret over the idea that he may just want to use her. He was pursuing her with interest, not just for her physical beauty. Though, he’d be lying to say that her beauty wasn’t one of the features attracting him.
Lucien had of course tailored the conversation toward her. She wasn’t wrong in thinking Lucien enjoyed speaking of himself and having the spotlight, but he was more than capable of graciously bowing out and letting another into the lime light. When it came to the ladies he loved to see them shine and with Freya in particular he was keen to know more about her. He wanted to hear her talk about her, so he could learn more. He was committing her answers to memory, keeping a bank of knowledge on her to figure out how best to gain her attentions later.
”Indeed Surrealism isn’t what I would label your art...I made sure to look into you after our last encounter Frida.”
Lucien wanted to make sure she knew that he knew who she was. After their last game of guess who he had done his research. ”Surrealism as it exists is more for those like Dali who do indeed create dreams on a canvas. Your portraits in particular are far from surrealism, though I am not sure what genre I would place them in. Perhaps it is simply that your style is unique to you, but it reminds me of expressionism with its darker tones and sharp edges in some areas, though doesn’t quite fall there either.” He explained. He knew art well enough, and had a wide number of interests. Art was more a thing of his past, so anything prior to his death he was half decently informed of. He smiled when she mentioned classical being too slow and club music being enjoyable. ”I enjoy club music when listened to in my own space. I find it is too loud in an actual club. Classical is much more peaceful and relaxing, as well as enjoyable, after you have been in loud and obnoxious battles. I enjoyed it prior to my time serving, but after, I appreciated it that much more. It was something far removed from the loud booming sounds that remind me of those past experiences. No matter how successful you are on a battlefield it stays with you.” Lucien explained, though he didn’t intend it as boasting his accomplishments but rather explaining his interest in music and even art. It was something so far removed from wartime circumstance that it gave him a sense of comfort. Which soldier didn’t have a feeling of peace at escaping that kind of life. As much as Lucien loved the praise for his accomplishments and gained a cocky sense of success, he also didn’t exactly want to relive it. Yet, he was still intending to become military once more. It was what he was good at and he wasn’t sure he knew what he wanted to be. It was easier to follow a path he knew he could be successful on than to take a new one. He was also afraid of being in a position that would be too boring for his adventurous spirit. Lucien went over what she had said again in his mind, placing her as a party-er of sorts and the music she enjoys. You never know when that knowledge may come in handy. He started flipping through people in RSOR he knew about and tried to place who would be her friend with that sort of interest. Perhaps Evie got along with her? He tried to recall if he had observed her with Evie before but couldn’t be sure. He assumed she got along decently with the other artists in RSOR at least given her history...He reminded himself to start asking around to learn more about her from those she was acquainted to. It wasn't as though Freya was low on self-confidence. She had her moments, but for the most part she tried not to worry too much about what others thought of her. Tried, though didn't always succeed. Freya cared more about what others thought of her than she would even admit to herself. And this went even moreso for Lucien. It was even more flattering when he commented on her art. Not only was he willing to discuss it, but he'd even looked into it after their last meeting? He'd looked into her art? It might not have seemed like much on the outset, but Freya's art, in both her past life and this one, was more than just art. It often times acted as a diary of sorts for the young woman. Instead of feeling invaded that he'd read her diary, though, she was oddly intrigued. Diaries were private, after all, and she'd made her portraits public on purpose. The fact that he was willing to take the time to look into these portraits, to Freya at least, showed that he was willing to take the time to get to know her for her...and that gave him a lot of points in her book. Men who wanted one night stands rarely did their research, and operated only on flattery. Lucien had gone a step beyond. "I don't know if I particularly like my art being grouped into a category, honestly. Or any art for that matter. Art shouldn't be about creating for a category, it should be about expressing yourself the way you want to express yourself. It's understandable that labels are created to group together similar pieces, but when you start to create under that label rather than allow your work to be naturally labelled it loses a lot of it's value." Art, to Freya, was ultimately about expressing herself to the world, and it was clear by the way that she spoke. In that way, perhaps Lucien was right to label her work as expressionism. As much as she enjoyed that he was willing to learn information about her, she was surprised to hear him sharing information about himself - and not just information like favorite bands and where he enjoyed hanging out. No, he'd mentioned the battlefield, something a little more personal than that. The fact that he was willing to share this with her drew her to him even more. "That I can understand. For me, it was more that my last life was so wracked with pain that it was hard to enjoy. Why not make the best of the good times and live it up while I can? Never know when and if something might happen again." If he was willing to divulge a bit with her, she would do the same with him. It was only fair, after all.
