[/color]Ana’s eyes picked out every shiny object on every single student, or teacher. And who could blame her. She was used to having what she wanted and taking it when she wanted it. So yeah, she was intent on people’s personal belongings. But what was better than jewellery was what that person valued. If someone held a pen dear to them that was what Ana wanted. She was testing herself. The more someone valued something emotionally the more cautious they were to keep it safe. Ana liked to disrupt, cause a scene and upset people. She liked to see someone desperate to find that one special, sentimental object. It was a guilty pleasure….
Her eyes roamed about picking up the little signs; someone fiddling with something, or even just the way someone handled an object. She missed her old life and as it was sailing didn’t do her much good—as in this world, it was hardly something a teenage girl could do alone. And Ana recognized that. She also couldn’t exactly be open and visual about what she was doing. Today’s world had too many laws that would creep up and bite her in the ass. In the past crime was so much easier to get away with. Her only connection to the old ways was in her collection of stolen accessories and emotional valuables.
People in today’s world were material. Material showed status. And even so they didn’t care about what the Material was like they used to. Sheep meant status yes, but they were also distraught when the sheep was stolen. In today’s world, they would just buy another sheep and that was frustrating for Ana. She wanted to impact people. She wanted something irreplaceable like that sheep was to the farmers back then, or like the gold was to the struggling village. Was it so much to ask?
She sat back against the wall, her eyes roaming over the pool. People dropped their stuff in the most amusing places here to go for a swim and the heat asked for that. Ana was out of place though, without a bathing suit and in her usual flashy attire. That was also part of the challenge and the game. She stood out so could she get away with it without being noticed despite dragging in notice with her clothes.
Ana didn’t fit in here. And perhaps that was also part of her problem. People didn’t understand that Ana stood out more than just because of her clothes. And having just reunited with Mary Read, she had only just learned of others like her. Now with this key incident occurring, Ana was sitting of to the side with a smirk on her face. It all amused her. Perhaps because it was the reaction she was looking for and from the principal no less. Today…was a good day. But she still hadn’t found her place quite yet. And she was sure she wasn’t about to.
