They’d fought. Vaughn still couldn’t really get over the fact that they’d fought. He was in love with Tamara, wasn’t he? Yes, he was, he knew that. And he’d still yelled, gotten angry with her, and practically stormed out of the restaurant. He felt horrible now. At the time, however, he’d been acting entirely on instinct. Why did she have to bug him on purpose like that? Why did she have to poke his buttons — or more like stab them, really. There was one subject in the world he couldn’t talk about with her, and it was the one she’d brought up.
But they were going to fix things. Tonight he was going to make everything better. ...He didn’t know how, but it was going to happen. Vaughn just couldn’t handle fighting with his girlfriend like this. God, he hoped she still wanted to be his girlfriend. Without her, he really didn’t want to live in America at all. This country held nothing else for him. Dressed in regular clothes for his time at the amusement park (he was saving his costume for another occasion), Vaughn waited at the gates of the park for Tamara to arrive. He really really hoped he’d be able to fix things tonight.

It wasn't as easy to push off Vaughn as she thought. In fact, it was downright impossible. Vaughn actually brought out the best in her. She could still be conniving and still liked to poke her nose into business that wasn't hers, but she was, in general, a better person when Vaughn was around. Ever since her breakup, she'd lashed out at nearly everyone around her. She acted decent enough around her fellow Anti-RSOR members, primarily because they understood where she came from (especially one of their newest members, Lena...in fact, the two juniors had actually forged a bond based on what happened), but if you were in RSOR, Tamara was even worse toward you than usual. Even some normals had faced the brunt of her wrath. Orestia Barwell, for example. She'd cheered up a little in time for Halloween, but hadn't gone through the effort that she usually would have. Normally she would have spent days on a costume. Instead, she picked up a bee costume from a local drug store. It didn't look bad, mind. She had little bee antennae to attach to her head and cute little wings to attach to her back. Other than that, she was wearing a black shirt and black pants that were surprisingly not that revealing. Though they were tight fitting. Tamara wasn't completely destitute at least. She'd opted to leave the wings behind for the amusement park, but did wear her headpiece with the antennae. She strode up to the park entrance, shivering a little (maybe she should have worn a tight fitting black jacket instead, hmm?) as she waved at her older brother who'd driven her there. He went off with his friends and Tamara went off on her own, still not entirely sure what she was going to do tonight. Maybe she'd walk around and check out some boys with Lena....she had to bounce back some time. She certainly wasn't expecting to see Vaughn waiting near the entrance. Surely he wasn't waiting for her, was he? Try as she might, Tamara couldn't quench the feeling of hope that arose in her chest when she saw him standing there. She had no choice but to go past him to enter the park, and thus had to make conversation. "Waiting for your girlfriend?" Tamara repeated her question from the restaurant, shortly before the fight. Rather than the flirty tone she'd used in the restaurant, however, her tone betrayed a tornado of emotions. Probably most prominent, however, was hurt. If he was waiting for someone else...another girl... Word count: 435 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: So I rambled. XD

Ever since his fight with Tamara, Vaughn had been a bit of a mess. He’d lashed out more, that was for sure. He was a lot bitterer and much more disagreeable to everyone. He didn’t know where his relationship with Tamara stood right now, and it was killing him. Could he even call her his girlfriend? Did she want to be his girlfriend? Did she even want to see his face anymore? After all, he’d walked out on her in a restaurant. It was horrible of him. It was horrible, and he knew it at the time, but even so much more now. He felt guilty, he felt like shit about it. It was a pathetic, childish reaction, and if he was Tamara, he didn’t think he’d want to see his own face around...
But he was hoping. He was hoping for the best and he was going to try his hardest for everything to turn out all right. Before he knew it, he saw Tamara coming up, and his heart skipped a beat. Vaughn shoved his hands in his pockets and looked up at her, forcing a smile on his face. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy to see her, he was just... he felt bad. He’d fucked up. He’d messed up, and now he had to fix it. “I, um...” Could he call her his girlfriend? Would it bother her? “I w-was waiting for you...” There. Meet her in the middle. Couldn’t go wrong with that. “Unless you had plans with someone else tonight, of course...” Oh, God, he hoped she wasn’t here with someone else...

What could they call themselves? Tamara considered what happened to be a breakup, but was it really a breakup, or just a fight? She didn't really want it to be a breakup, although she certainly had at first. She'd been blinded by her own anger, that Vaughn wasn't saying a word to her, and to make matters worse, stormed away when she was trying to prove her point! Though to be fair, one of them would have stormed away eventually. That was the thing about Vaughn and Tamara when they felt passionately about something. Once they were set off, there was no backing down with either of them. Which made for hellish situations if they ever disagreed, as was proven. The few weeks that had surpassed, though, gave them both a chance to calm down. Tamara still wasn't sure if her pride would let her apologize, but she didn't really want to lose Vaughn. She wanted him to tell her what RSOR was, yes, but she truly cared for him. She also saw how much it bothered him when he questioned her. Had he known what was about to do before she started interrogating him, she likely would be kicking herself. She hoped he would tell her still, yes, but they'd only been dating a couple of months. Was it really fair to throw that on him so soon? Her pals in Anti-RSOR would say that it was not, but then, Errol wasn't pressuring Chess all that much either... Tamara's eyes widened slightly as Vaughn admitted he'd been waiting for her. She felt as though a huge weight had been lifted off of her, though she still felt something there. It wasn't so simple as Vaughn simply saying that he was waiting for her. It would take more than one comment to fix this. "No, not really. I was planning on bumming around a bit with Lena, but I can't say I had anything elaborate planned, no." Tamara stated in that same nonchalant tone, trying her best not to sound too flirty. She didn't know if that was what he wanted in the first place, and besides, she didn't want to let him off that easily. He'd still walked out on her, and had yet to actually apologize for it. Then again, it wasn't as though she'd apologized either... Word count: 396 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: None

It had been a few weeks since their fight, and already Vaughn missed Tamara almost more than anything he’d ever missed before. It just went to show that he really did love her, and being apart from someone you loved... it was hard. It was really hard. In fact, it made him want to do nothing more — or less — than stay holed up in his dormitory all day, preferably still in bed. Maybe he’d watch some television and occasionally get up to make some ramen or something, but other than that? He didn’t want to go to school, he would see Tamara there. And yet he had to go to class, because he’d see Tamara there. He missed her. He had to see her.
He had to see her. He had to talk to her; he had to fix this whole mess. “Oh... Cool... Would you, uh... maybe wanna... hang out with me?” ‘Hang out’ had seemed like the best phrasing for the situation. What else could he call it? It couldn’t be a date; Vaughn didn’t know if he was allowed to call this a date with the current state their relationship was in. And, well, hopefully she said yes. Vaughn wasn’t so sure what he would do if she told him no. He wasn’t sure what he would do with himself, what he could do with himself. It would make for a rough day, that was for sure.

At least Vaughn was going about it better to the general populace than Tamara was. While he wanted to stay holed up in his dorm moping, Tamara wanted to take out her misery on others. Even that she was growing tired of, though. Life just wasn't as fun without Vaughn. She missed him, and though she'd never admit it out loud while they were separated (or taking a break, or whatever the hell they were doing), she didn't want to go on like this. She wanted to make up with him. She wanted to find out what RSOR was, but she would also accept that he couldn't tell her that. They'd only dated for what, a few months? No, she was more upset that her own sister wouldn't tell her. And who knew, maybe Vaughn would tell her after they dated a while. Tamara's eyes widened a little at Vaughn's imitation. She was both surprised, and relieved, to hear it. She didn't want to have to be the one to make the first step. At the same time, though, it was bittersweet, because Vaughn was inviting her to 'hang out'. Here they were, a couple less than a month before, yet he was only inviting her to hang out. Still, it was a start, and there was a chance (hopefully) that hanging out could lead t more. "Sure, why not? We haven't hung out in a while. What did you have in mind?" Honestly, even if they didn't kiss and make up...at least they could make up, perhaps? She wanted to at the very least be on good terms with him. When they really fought, they could rip each other's hearts out, but...she still wanted him there. Word count: 295 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: None

Vaughn wasn’t sure why he’d taken this long to talk to Tamara again. The minute he’d walked out of the restaurant, he’d regretted it, but it wasn’t like he could just go back then and make it all better. He’d fucked up, and he’d fucked up big time. He wasn’t so sure Tamara would forgive him. Hell, he wasn’t so sure she’d forgive him now. If she didn’t, he’d understand, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be heartbroken. He wouldn’t know what to do with himself, really. Sure, America had been growing on him, and it wasn’t that bad, but she was the best part about it. And without her, did he really want to be here?
Not that he had that much of a choice. It wasn’t like he was going to leave early. Was that even possible? He didn’t know, and it’s not like he was going to try. Even if Vaughn wanted to leave the country that badly, that would make him a quitter, and Richard wasn’t a quitter. No, he was in America until the end of the year, and so he might as well enjoy his time here and try to make everything better with Tamara, whether she accepted his apologies and efforts or not. “Well, I don’t know... I mean, I thought we could just go around the amusement park or something... Do you have anything else you wanna do?” He really just wanted to take her hand right now. He wanted to tell her he loved her. But it wasn’t that easy.

Of course Tamara regretted the way things had gone down. Unlike Vaughn, however, it took a lot more to get her to admit this to herself, let alone to others. Tamara's actions spoke for themselves, though. While Tamara was known for being a spoiled brat anyway, her actions had taken a turn for the worst after what happened with Vaughn. Anyone who took the time would note the correlation between Tamara's mood change and her breakup with Vaughn. Or whatever it was classified as. Already, it felt better to be on speaking terms with Vaughn again. Even if their speech was awkward, it was a step in the right direction. It was indicating, at the very least, that Vaughn still wanted to be on speaking terms with her. "Of course I want to go around the amusement park. I wouldn't have come if I didn't want to check it out." She let out a snort, but still had a small smile on her face nonetheless. It was really a silly question, but on the bright side there wasn't much vitrol behind the comment. Another step in the right direction. "Haven't thought about it too hard yet, but I do know that I want to make sure that a certain someone doesn't look too closely at any other girls." Tamara wasn't quite sure where they stood, but she did know that if she was going to be spending time with Vaughn, he wasn't going to go and ditch her for some other girl. The last thing she wanted was to be led on, and she wanted to make sure that he was aware of that. Word count: 284 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: None

Fighting. Fighting was stupid. Fights in relationships in particular always seemed to arise because of stupid things that didn’t really matter, too. Well, okay, in Vaughn and Tamara’s situation, maybe that was a little different. It wasn’t over something stupid. It was over something extremely important, actually. In fact, this secret getting out could mean horrible things for Vaughn. His life would be threatened. It pained him, though, that he couldn’t tell Tamara. It really did drive him nuts, and he hoped she knew that. Otherwise it made him just look like an arrogant asshole who didn’t tell his girlfriend anything. She had to understand that he couldn’t tell her, right? Especially when she was a member of the anti-RSOR. He really couldn’t tell her.
But he did want to; of course he wanted to. Would she look at him the same then, though? How would she feel about dating an ancient king of England? Things would be different, wouldn’t they? However, just because Vaughn was Richard, that didn’t mean he wasn’t still Vaughn. He was himself. She would still love him, right? Not that it mattered, because that secret could never get out, ever. It would be the end of everything. He offered Tamara a small smile. “Hm, what guy?” He looked over at her and held out his hand. If she wanted to take it, she could, but if she didn’t want to, he’d understand. At least talking on civil terms like this was progress. 247 WORDS | COMPLETE | TAGGED – TAMARA!LYRICS BY ALL TIME LOW | TEMPLATE BY ARROhappy thanksgiving (:

That was the problem - The fight between Vaughn and Tamara had occurred over something important. It wasn't as though they were fighting over Vaughn looking at someone the wrong way. Vaughn was legitimately keeping a secret from her, and Tamara did not like that. Really, though, had she expected anything different than this? She knew straight away, after Vaughn mentioned going on that trip to London, that he was a member of RSOR. Yet she still ended up involved with him despite that. She knew that, as a member of RSOR, he'd likely never tell her everything, and yet she still decided to date him nonetheless. She knew what she was getting into, and decided to forgo that because she genuinely liked Vaughn. The question was, was she willing to do that again? If Tamara knew who Vaughn truly was, would she treat him differently? Perhaps. It was one thing to be dating the cute exchange student one year your senior. To find out that he was a former king of England was another. If they'd known each other for years and years, perhaps it wouldn't have as much of an impact, but having known him for less than a year? Chances were that yes, it would influence the way she acted around him. Not that she'd stop caring for him, but she'd likely be a lot more self aware and nervous around him if she knew the full story. Tamara shot a small smile back at Vaughn. "He knows who he is, and he knows that he better watch it." Her tone was more flirty this time, but there was a hint of edge to her voice. She wanted to let Vaughn know that she meant business. At the same time..was he actually holding his hand out to her? Argh. Well, she'd already laid down the law...she could probably get away with this. All the more incentive to pull away and throw a fit if Vaughn did go back on his word, after all. She placed her hand in his, a warm feeling going through her as she did so. Little as she wanted to admit, she had missed this. Word count: 360 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: None

If he could just tell her everything, Vaughn’s relationship with Tamara would have been so much stronger from the start. If he didn’t have to worry about stupid secrets, things would always be happy. There wouldn’t be fighting, so they wouldn’t be like this right now, that was for sure. Vaughn hated fighting with Tamara. She was the first person he had really connected with like this in years, and he’d messed it all up just because he couldn’t tell her the truth about himself. But he couldn’t, and he knew it. Sadly, Tamara didn’t. She didn’t understand what was on the line, and she couldn’t, without him telling her everything, which he also couldn’t do, ever. Everything was just so complicated. C’est la vie, sure, really, it seemed unfair, or at least it did to Vaughn. Why did this have to happen to him?
Did other reincarnates ever wonder that? Why it was them, why they were the ones that weren’t new people, why they had been chosen to be the greats of the past? Was there something different about them? Was it in their DNA? It was thoughts like this that kept Vaughn up at night. Or at least, they did, until his fight with Tamara. Now he just worried about her. Worried about what he said, worried about whether she’d talk to him again. Worried about how today was going to go. Vaughn gave her a little smile. “I think he knows,” he answered, his smile widening a bit. And when she took his hand, he couldn’t help but smile more. Yeah, things were going well. He slowly walked with her towards the amusement park. “What do you want to do first?” Honestly, at this point, whatever Tamara wanted to do, he would do. He would do anything. 301 WORDS | COMPLETE | TAGGED – TAMARA!LYRICS BY ALL TIME LOW | TEMPLATE BY ARROit snowed today :D

If Tamara knew what was at stake she would back off straight away, which was perhaps the worst part about it. Because she could not be told the truth, or anything close to it, she would keep pressing on in her attempts to find it out. Even if she and Vaughn were in the process of making up, that didn't mean that she wouldn't keep poking and prodding all of his friends for the answers that she sought. She wanted to poke and prod at him as well, yet at the same time wanted to refrain from doing such a thing. She cared about Vaughn. She wanted answers, but were those answers worth the possibility of alienating herself from him? Tamara honestly didn't know anymore, and it made her feel a bit sick to her stomach at the thought. How would Errol, Kodi, Lena, and Alison react? Then again, wasn't Errol dating someone from RSOR? Was it not true that he was slacking on his duties when it came to Chess? Out of everyone in RSOR, Errol's opinion mattered to her most, and she considered him to be her best friend without a doubt. So if he was dating someone in RSOR and somehow managing to not let matters get in the way of that...why should she? Tamara smiled back when she saw the smile on Vaughn's face. It looked like a genuine agreement to her. She felt half tempted to skip a little as she and Vaughn began to walk, but kept her composure. She was already wearing antenna, she didn't want to look like a complete dweeb (although being a dweeb could be fun). "Making out in the tunnel of love is always a fun option." Tamara indicated with a small smirk. Then again, considering the holiday, it was just as possible that the tunnel of love would become the tunnel of terror. Then again, was that necessarily a bad thing? Instead of making out with him, she had an excuse to move closer to him for 'safety'. It was a win win situation, if you asked the junior. Word count: 359 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: Our snow melted. 0.o

Halloween had never really been one of Vaughn’s favorite holidays. Growing up, it had never been a big thing with him, and now at seventeen years of age, it still didn’t really do all that much for him. It was okay, he guessed. He could deal with it and if it was going to give him a chance to get back together with Tamara, then he was going to take that. He’d missed her so much. He felt so bad for what he’d done now, or really, lack thereof. He hadn’t done much more than get pissed and storm out of the restaurant, leaving her there alone. That had certainly not been in the plans that night, that was for sure. And he still felt bad. Hopefully she’d forgive her. Well, it certainly was looking that way. It seemed like things were going to end up quite well.
Really, her suggesting the two of them making out already? Well, if she meant it. Vaughn hoped she meant it. He couldn’t say that he’d really mind that idea at all... As long as it wasn’t jumping into things too quickly. Tensions between them were definitely taut at the moment and he didn’t want to wreck the delicate balance they were currently operating on. He looked over at her with a small smile. “It certainly is..” That was a safe comment, right? He wasn’t going to dig himself into a hole with that one, was he? He was still scared of the subject of RSOR coming up... It was certainly unlikely, and deep down he knew that, but the thought still scared him. “We can head over that way if you want.” And he wanted that, too. 285 WORDS | COMPLETE | TAGGED – TAMARA!LYRICS BY ALL TIME LOW | TEMPLATE BY ARROaaand now i’m whining because it’s gonna be a brown christmas... ahaha. but yay for break!

While Halloween wasn't one of Tamara's favorite holidays, she'd never minded it all that much either. She'd always enjoyed playing dress up, and Halloween was the perfect opportunity for that. Her 'dress-up' games tended to be a lot more, shall we say, stylish now, but the same basic theme was still there. Tamara was not absolved from blame in the incident that night either. She was the one who started it by pushing Vaughn to tell her about RSOR. She was the one who couldn't keep her mouth shut and set everything into motion. Of course, if it were brought up, she'd insist that Vaughn was the one who brought it up first, but it was her, and she knew it. He hadn't reacted in the best way, but neither had she. They were both at fault. The junior was half joking about making out in the tunnel of love, but wanted to gauge Vaughn's response to it. If he seemed at the very least perceptive, then that was a good sign. Tamara received the response she was looking for when he gave her a small smile and responded in the positive. To her, that was another step forward, that he wanted to continue forth in this relationship. Tamara already decided that she was not going to bring RSOR up tonight. It was tempting, as it always was, but she already saw what happened when she brought it up. She certainly wasn't going to give up her quest to find out, but did that mean she had to keep pressuring Vaughn, necessarily? No. There were plenty of other RSOR members that she could poke around. Which was saying something about how much she cared about Vaughn. "Of course I want that." Word count: 296 To: Beth/Vaughn Notes: Our snow melted. 0.o

Vaughn was doing his best to keep this excursion from being awkward. He may not have been succeeding entirely, but he didn’t think that he was doing all that bad. Tamara seemed to be somewhat happy, though. Or maybe she was just happy to see him again; he certainly felt that way about her. Well maybe not seeing, but being able to spend time with each other. It had been sort of painful having to see Tamara walk past him in the hallway. He never glared at her or anything, but always avoided eye contact with her like it was the plague. He acted like he wasn’t bothered and didn’t miss her but in all reality, he was hurting, and he was hurting pretty bad. Vaughn had no idea that he could miss her this much. He had no idea that his heart had any capacity to miss someone this much after he’d lost his girlfriend back home. He didn’t think he’d even be able to fall in love with anyone ever again.
But obviously, Vaughn had been wrong on that account, for he was definitely in love with Tamara Ramachander. He hadn’t told her yet, since he had been about to tell her that night when she brought up RSOR. The idea of telling her tonight was there, but that’s where it sat. Vaughn wasn’t sure that tonight was appropriate considering it was the first time they were really talking to each other since that night. He’d just have to see how the “date” went. Or whatever it was. “You do?” he repeated, glancing over at her. Well, Vaughn definitely wouldn’t mind giving it a chance. He wasn’t non-confrontational, not at all, but if it was up to Vaughn, he didn’t think he’d mind just acting like nothing had happened and carrying on. Eventually they’d have to sort out their issues, but not tonight. Vaughn kept hold of her hand and headed towards the Tunnel of Love, or Terror, or whatever it would be tonight. He didn’t really care, as long as Tamara was there with him. 348 WORDS | COMPLETE | TAGGED – TAMARA!LYRICS BY ALL TIME LOW | TEMPLATE BY ARRObrown january. ):
