With tensions growing between the Federation and the Klingons growing and with the Dominion becoming more aggressive the Federation begins upgrading and building most of their starships. The U.S.S Fearless is a modified Nova class starship built at Utopia Planetary Yard . With the Federation is still in exploration mode and with the Fearless capable of defending itself better Starfleet sends it to explore the Typhon Expanse an area of space known for it temporal properties. While exploring the Expanse a black hole of sorts appear however, so does a Romulan warbird claiming it has violated Romulan territory and opens fire. With no place to go Captain Pruitt orders the ship to fire everything but the black hole engulfs the ship and the Romulans back off. With the ship damaged Pruitt notices something is wrong. There are no Starfleet bases nearby, there no Starfleet bases period. Pruitt and the crew comes to the conclusion that the black hole put them in the mirror universe.
With some casualties and damage Pruitt orders repairs on the Fearless. After repairs are complete he sets off but the ships soon runs into the Defiant. The Defiant under the command of Miles "Smiley" O'Brian shows up promising to help get the Fearless home in exchange for their help to win the war between the Terran Rebellion and the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. With the crew torn between finding their own way and forget the war and helping Pruitt decides to try and do both.
Now the Fearless must live up to its name and try to get back to their own universe while trying to build a better future for another one.....
