It wasn't as though Mark would mind hooking up with Evie either. He knew that she wouldn't be disappointing. On the other hand, he felt as though hooking up with Evie now would be taking advantage of her emotional state. In addition, he was coming to think of her as more than just someone to go to for a good time. Not that they were unfriendly otherwise. If they saw each other in the halls they'd wave, etc. This was something different than either of the usual encounters with Evie. He'd slow danced with her. That was different than the usual bump and grind that would lead to one of them dragging the other to their dorm (...usually Mark's though, because honestly, who wanted to risk one younger sister and close friend walking in? She'd be scarred for life! Or, in her case, her second life.) Mark, for the first time, noted something else about Evie. The way she sat, the way she held herself...it was with a considerable amount of class. Having been to his father's 'get-togethers', he'd seen plenty of these women, but it was a pleasant surprise to see with Evie. One would never picture such poise from a girl like her...well, not if they didn't know who she was in her past life. As Mark was not privy to this information... Mark smiled as Evie complimented him and informed him that she liked him. As in, really liked him. They'd never uttered so much as an 'I like you' or 'I love you' during any of their escapades in the past. Both of them knew better at that point. Not to mention...well, truthfully, neither of them thought of each other that way. Until now, of course. "Well, you know, that's good to hear, because I was just thinking the same about you." He grinned. He also felt like complimenting her for the way that she sat, but couldn't think of a way to state it without sounding weird. So he let that one slide for now. The fact that both were suddenly trying to justify sleeping together tonight proved that there was a lot more between them than sexual chemistry. Admittedly, Evie wanted to more than she didn't. But then this was also holding her back. She was worried that Mark would think of her as easy. Which, yes, she had been in the past with him. Just give her a bottle of Jack's and she was all yours. But now...now that things had sort of happened between them that wasn't in the bedroom, she didn't want him to think her slutty for jumping into bed with him that very same night. It was this that perhaps provided the most evidence of her actual feelings, more than her actually saying them. Yes some of her reasons was selfish but above it all, she cared for Mark therefore respecting him as well.
When Mark blurted out that he was feeling the same to her, her answering smile was dazzling. She took her sunglasses of finally , putting them away safely in her bag. The smile was still on her face as she looked back up to him, making her look suddenly fresh faced and trouble free. "Thank you!" It was a bit strange for her to say thanks to him, but really when had ayone said this to her? People had liked her in the past and vice versa but she had never had anyone turn around and tell her to her face. Usually the 'liking' each other bit meant buisness in the bedroom department. Honestly, she felt privaledged that somebody was finally paying her the compliments. And the fact that it was Mark made it a whole lot pleasanter.
She sat in her chair grinning for a minute more until she stood up and reached out her hand to Marks. "Lets get out of her and go for a walk?" If this had been any night before, her invitation for a walk would lead them back to a dorm room. But this time, she actually really wanted to go for a walk. She wanted to talk to Mark, all night if she could. She wanted to know his likes, his dislikes, his dreams, how it was growing up, even his favourite colour. There was so much that she didn't know about him, or had heard through the biased source of Chelsea. She wanted to know him on her own terms, at least this time without all of the physical stuff.
...Although if it went that way, she wouldn't say no.

The sexual chemistry was there, no doubt. They wouldn't have slept together before if it wasn't there. Still, Mark's first thoughts at this point weren't getting into bed with Evie, a surefire sign that there was more to it than just lust. Maybe he only thought of her as a good friend. Maybe he really was falling for her. Fact was, though, that she was definitely starting to become more than just that girl he'd screwed around with a few times in his mind. The seventeen year old grinned as Evie took off her sunglasses. "That's much better." He reasoned that she'd been wearing sunglasses before to hide the fact that she'd been crying. If it was simply a fashion statement...well, Mark wouldn't pretend to understand why Evie would want to wear sunglasses in a dark room, but he wouldn't inquire about it either. Mark looked a bit taken aback when Evie thanked him for the comments he made toward her. It certainly wasn't something he was used to hearing. "You know, you're pretty polite. Never seen that side of you before. Did your parents send you to finishing school?" This was not by any means a snide comment...rather, Mark looked impressed. "Not that that's a bad thing by any means." His parents would approve of a girl with manners, for one thing. Not that they'd approve of other aspects of Mark or Evie's lives, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them, right? At Evie's words, Mark stood up as well and took Evie's hand in his. "I think that sounds like a good idea. Why stick around here for longer than we have to?" He looked forward to spending more time with Evie and getting to know her more as well. Plus, he couldn't deny that a small part of him saw this as giving a figurative middle finger to the dicks who messed with Evie. A way of saying 'look what you missed out on'. Mark would relish that opportunity, even though it wasn't for his usual reasons. Word count: 365 To: Ali/Evie Notes: MEHH

She smiled as he commented on her removing her sunglasses. She figured straight away that it probably looked a little strange for her to sit in a dark room with them on. Yes, she had left them on for the fact that she had been crying...but there was also more to it than that. She grinned looking slightly guilty in a 'oops you caught me' kind of way. "It looks a lot better than it feels. My head feels as though a camel has been doing the irish jig on it." Obvious reference to the hangover that she suffered from daily. She was pretty used to them to be honest, but this one seemed to be pretty brutal. Damn tequila.
Sometimes Evie forgot that the way she acted and talked was a bit too polite for who she was now. Back in the day, her actions and manners would have been scrutenised day in and day out. It seemed as if she was still being cautious to not get told off. If one was to step back and watch Evie for the day it would be very clear that there had been some sort of manner and posture teaching that had been drummed into her. She held herself well at all times, never slouching and walking as if she was balancing a book on her head. She spoke well although this was not as easy to notice as the posture thing. Now she was free from the restraints of the French Court, she relished in the opportunity to swear, to talk and laugh loudly and to be rude. Still she was polite when she had to be, and made sure to pronounciate her every word properly. It seemed as if Mark had picked up on this quite quickly.
It also seemed that Evie had a hard time not blurting out too much information, so used to being around the reincarnates and also sharing a room with one that it came natural to act and talk as though she was still Marie. "Oh not at all! I learnt all this from back in the day in Austria!" She grinned at him and then realised that some very important and confidental information had slipped out. Her smile slipped and she looked worried before it was back on her face as though nothing weird had been mentioned. "I mean...I stayed with my granddma who lives in Austria when I was about four years old for a few months and she taught me how to be polite and...things." Even she could see that it was a lame excuse but luckily she had the fact that Mark didn't know her too well to back it up. Now she'd have to hunt Chelsea down before Mark could see her, incase he asked about it. Honestly though, she would have thought that Chelsea would have the sense to go along with this story if she didn't have time to catch up so she wasn't too worried about this problem just yet.
Luckily at about this time Mark agreed to go for a walk with her. She took his hand grinning and led him out through the crowd on the dancefloor towards the exit. She noticed some girls giving her a dirty look - obviously thinking along the lines of a hook up. Evie ignored them. There was nobody in here tonight now who could rain on her parade now that Mark had cheered her up to no end.
Finally they made it out into the corridors. The rest of the school was closed off so Evie began to wander towards the doors that led outside. "Well thank god thats over with. Never again. I never have understood the hype over prom." Finally they were clear of the school and it seemed as if they were the only ones out here. A perfect opportunity to chat without any pesky eavesdroppers! Plus she wanted to get the attention of herself after her slip - if Mark questioned her and an anti - RSOR member was about, they could use that information to give fuel to the fire that was already raging. "So...tell me about yourself. What do you like to do? What don't you like to do? What do you want to be when you grow up?" It all came out in a rush but at least the spotlight was off her now.

"A camel? Interesting choice of animal to do an Irish jig..." The mental image cause a large grin to spread across the junior's face. Even though Mark was no reincarnate, he could be polite in the right company as well. He was raised by parents who often had dinner guests, and thus he was expected to be on his best behavior when his father had business associates over. Whereas Chelsea had come to the subject of dinner conversations when she showed up once wearing a suit just to protest the idea that women had to wear dresses to such events, Mark preferred not to make too many waves where his parents were concerned. He'd focus his rebelling to where his parents wouldn't see. Mark's eyes widened a little when Evie mentioned Austria. Obviously Evie hadn't meant to let that one slip either, as he noted the slip of the grin on Evie's face. This was very peculiar, and although Mark was curious, Evie quickly explained - And Mark bought it. After all, why wouldn't he? "That works. I've gone with my father on a couple of his business trips." He figured that Evie already knew from Chelsea their father's line of work, and that sometimes he did have to go to foreign countries. Mark had come along on a few occasions, as had all the children...but Mark was the one who went the most often, as the oldest boy in the family. Father/son bonding time, Mark supposed. For once, Mark ignored the other girls as well. He did enjoy scoping out the girls, but there was one girl in particular he was scoping out at the moment, and the two were holding hands as they left the gymnasium. Another sign that something was different...the two were walking side by side. Normally one would be leading the other in the case of their hook-ups. Mark let out a laugh as Evie suddenly bombarded him with questions. "Whoa, one at a time would be nice." He grinned flirtatiously in response to Evie's barrage of questions. "I'll give you an answer for every question you answer?" Trust Mark to do it this way... Word count: 387 To: Ali/Evie Notes: MEHH

Evie let out a mental sigh of relief when Mark went along with her story about Austria. Damn she had better remember that one incase it ever randomly came up again. The whole buisness of keeping the secret of reincarnation to a 'normal' such as Mark, was already proving to be difficult. Evie was used to talking openly about reincarnation with Chelsea or any of the others, even calling them by their 'first' names. Keeping the biggest part of her life on the down low was going to be hard. She of course understood why she could never tell anybody of who she was. If the information ever got into the wrong hands...well she dreaded to think what would become of her and the others. It was a shame to know that she could never be completely honest or ever be able to share herself completely with a 'normal'.
Evie could recall a few conversations that her and Chelsea had had over the past couple of years living as roommates. Family had always been quite a big discussion. She felt bad then, that she could not remember what Mr Simmons actually did. Chelsea had told her many of times but honestly...90% of that time was spent drunk or high and the other 10% was when she was busy writing music or just being hungover whilst having this conversation. She didn't ask Mark to elaborate though, for fear of being rude.
It was nice to be away from the noisiness of the prom. The grounds of the school were actually kind of creepy at night. She had never noticed that before but recalled that she hardly entered the actual grounds at night, preferring to use the main entrance of the dorms to come to and fro as she pleased. With a smile she looked at Mark as he laughed at her bombardment of questions. "Sorry...I guess I kind of got carried away." It was a good thing that she was still holding onto Mark's hand. She was staggering quite a bit from walking in her heels and the amount of whiskey that she had consumed tonight. If her calculations were right she had already finished of a bottle in her dorm for the nerves. Add to that the shot bottles that she had sneaked in...that was at least a bottle and a half. Wow...how she wasn't dead or in rehab yet? Still with the staggering and the tripping over her feet a couple of times, there was still that strange air of grace that was ever present.
She listened closely to Mark's deal, running it through her head again so it made full sense. Then when the cogs had stopped turning she grinned flirtaciously back. "Sounds like a fair deal. What do you want to know?" Hopefully there wouldnt be any difficult questions. If Evie slipped up again...

The junior remained blissfully unaware of what RSOR entailed, and honestly, he wasn't that curious either. As Chelsea was in it and he wasn't, he was left to assume that it had something to do with academics, or some sort of talent in something that he did not possess talent in. It obviously wasn't anything sports related, or they'd probably have asked Mark to join. While Mark didn't have a completely inflated ego, he did have somewhat of one...and he did consider himself to be good at the sports that he did play. If he wasn't, then why would he be on the team? He, however, could care less about school (well, with the exception of chemistry, but no one was supposed to know anything about that), or about following the rules so long as his parents didn't find out. He wasn't the type of guy who wanted to go to jail either, but he didn't mind detention here or there. Honestly, some of the rules in school were so silly that they were made to be broken, in his opinion. Mark kept a hold of Evie's hand, gripping on a bit tighter as she stumbled a couple of times. "Look out...don't want to have to scrape you off the ground." He laughed. She was offering him the chance to go first when it came to questions this time. What would he do with this honor? There were so many things he could ask her... "Music. What sort of music you listen to?" He knew Evie was in a band, so music was a good topic to start with. The funny thing was, was that most people did actually assume that RSOR was for students who were doing extremely well. There was some members who naturally did well at school...the majority of the group did as well as the student body in the rest of the school. Evie on the other hand...if she turned up for class she usually zoned out for the hour because of boredom. If she wasn't zoned out she was being sent out of class for acting up. The only classes she actually did well in was Biology - purely because of the way Felicity Hoffman taught it - and French (naturally). In fact she did so well in French that her one grade from that kept her from being kept back a year. If anybody outside of RSOR thought that it was for students who excelled...well then one look at Evie was enough to say that this wasn't really the case.
Honestly, Evie felt pretty blessed with her linguistic skills. It wasn't only English and French that was practically fluent in. She was also pretty good at German and Italian, although these skills had been decreased a couple of hundred years ago when she married Louis. To this day though she still remembered a lot of it but not as well as French. It was her language skills that first got her noticed from RSOR. There was practically no way that a freshman with no previous knowledge could be so fluent in French straightaway. It was this combined with her memories that helped her uncover the truth of her past self. Honestly, if Evie hadn't found RSOR, she would probably be worse off than she was now - and with hardly any friends to go with it.
She grinned a little at Mark's comment. "I've been in worse states than this, don't you worry." It was true. There were times when she was so blind drunk or high that she didn't have a clue who she was or where she was. There had also been times where she had simply passed out in random places to awake the next day with no clue of how she had gotten there (the best one was waking up in a shopping trolley in the middle of a field). Mark's first question, she noticed, was an easy one. Cue mental sigh of relief. "My favourite kind of music? As long as it had a guitar and bass I'm happy I guess. It depends on my mood as well though. Sometimes when I want to chill a bit of soft rock or indie will do. If I'm on a night out theres nothing like a bit Bring Me The Horizon to get me going."
They were kind of leaving the school grounds now. There wasn't anyone about who would tell them to stop so she kept on walking until they were just walking down a normal street. Coming up on the path was a bench so instead of going further for the time being, she stopped and sat herself down. Then she asked a question of her own. "Okay here's a good one. If you could be anyone in the world, who would it be and why?"

Mark was vaguely aware that Evie was in RSOR, which definitely threw off the picture he had painted of RSOR in his head, but he wasn't too worried about it. Even if he happened to be good pals with a leading member of Anti-RSOR (as he was), he just really couldn't be brought to care much about that. It wasn't his sort of thing. He wouldn't want people who weren't part of the hockey team to come barging in, so why should it be any different for RSOR? Yes, it was secretive, and no one knew exactly what it was, but...honestly, if they wanted to keep it a secret they wanted to keep it a secret. He was a fan of Hoffman's teaching methods as well, and could actually feel free to put forth a bit of effort in those classes. Chemistry, however, he found quite interesting, but he tried not to be too obvious about it. He figured the guys on the hockey team would probably give him crap for it. Mark's facial expression was torn between a grin and a frown, leaving one odd looking expression on the seventeen year old's face. "The fact that you've been in worse states is something to worry about the last I checked." He chuckled, but it sounded a tad forced. He wasn't all that surprised by Evie's answer, although he was happy to learn of a specific band that she liked. Quick on the draw, Evie quickly shot one back at him. "That's a tough one...probably Bill Gates, because come on, who doesn't want all that money?" It was only a halfhearted answer, to be honest. If Mark gave it more thought, he would certainly say someone else. On the other hand, this response only seemed to drive home the fact that this was Mark's first time around. Not only because of the silly answer but because...well, if he'd been a reincarnate, he would have stated who he'd been in his past life, more than likely. In all honesty, he was so bewildered by the sudden serious tone in conversation that he didn't know what to say. "You?" Little did he know that once upon a time Evie had been someone else... Evie didn't really know how to respond to Mark's offhand comment about the states she had been in. To her she found it amusing and it sure provided her with hillarious stories to share with the people who had been there. To anyone other than herself, it would probably be a lot more funnier if these incidents were kept to a more minimal pace. The fact that it was most nights though...
Really it wasn't a big deal to her. She knew that Mark had a pretty reckless nature about him too, so she was admittedly surprised that he seemed a little bothered by her comment on this. Then again, the rumours that circulated about her, and there was quite a few...they made her antics sound worse than what they really were. Of course they were bad...no high school student should be in debt through gambling, suffering from alcoholism and taking drugs for kicks, but some of the rumours that had come out about her were laughable.
She chose not to answer and instead waited for his answer to a pretty serious question she just asked. "Bill Gates huh?" She grinned at this answer. It was a pretty typical answer from a teenage boy but she had to admit that he had a point. After living in a crazy amount of wealth, she wouldn't say no to round two of that sort of lifestyle. His answer also made something very clear to her. He was not a reincarnate. She had never been 100% certain. She knew that there were probably one or two reincarnated members of the student body walking about the school and RSOR had no idea about them yet. She knew that he was a normal because as he asked her who she would want to be she said straight away "Marie Antoinette." Before she could stop herself she blurted out way too much information again. "I kicked ass back then!" She blinked for a second. Shit. "I meant I would kick ass as her." If Chelsea was here...well that would earn a lecture on keeping the secret. She couldn't help it. She was not used to being around normals. This was going to be hard work.
She seriously needed to direct the limelight off of her. If she got Mark talking for a while, hopefully he would forget what she had just divulged. Even though to him it sounded more like a slip of the tongue. "Tell me about your family. I've heard Chelsea's point of view. Now I want to hear yours." She grinned at him and sat herself on the bench more comfortably. On the outside she seemed cool and confident. On the inside though, she was telling herself off. She had literally just told Mark the biggest secret of her life, even if it wasn't intentional. Jesus, she hoped Isa wouldn't find out.

It wasn't that Evie's desire to have fun was off-putting. It was one of the things that he liked about her. However, as he was coming to realize that he felt something toward her, something more than just lust, he was also coming to realize that he didn't want her hurt. Now, this didn't mean that he was going to forbid her from going out and having a good time - He was up for that. He just didn't want to see her sitting off on the sidelines in tears again. Plus, it was much easier to see a growing problem from the outside looking in than if you were already on the inside... "Yep. I mean, I could probably come up with someone better, but Bill Gates is doing pretty good. I'd like to have that kind of money at my disposal. I could do pretty much anything." Though giving Mark that kind of money might be a bit dangerous. Just as it would be with Evie, and she'd already showcased this to some extent in her past life. Even in this life, what money she did have was being spent toward gambling. Mark, who also enjoyed a good adrenaline rush, wasn't exactly an unlikely candidate for gambling addiction either... He was surprised at how fast she responded. He was even more surprised by her next comment. He opened his mouth to question it, then nodded as Evie quickly corrected herself. If he were other normals, he would find this comment highly peculiar. He still did, really, but he also found that he didn't care that much. Not in that he was determined to get down to the heart of the matter. It was curious, but not to the point where he'd dig deep to find the answers. "I have to agree with that. She was quite beautiful too, from what I've read. So it's fitting." Little did Mark realize just how on the ball he was. Of course, the beautiful comment was more of a flirtatious comment than an actual observation. Sure, he thought Evie was beautiful, but Marie Antoinette in her old style of dress wasn't really his type. Of course, Evie and Marie were one in the same, but Mark didn't need to know that. Mark let out a laugh at Evie's sudden desire to learn more about his family. He didn't even recognize her attempt to get him far off the subject of Marie Antoinette. Lucky Evie. "Well, there's my parents. They're both pretty forward when it comes to maintaining appearances, but my dad has people he needs to impress for his job, so I can't say I entirely blame him. Chelsea's my sister, of course...I pity you for having to share a room with her." Mark let out a laugh, showing that he was not at all serious, and was simply taking a rather large jab at his sister. Though he did wonder just how many times Evie was subjected to one of Chelsea's rants...now those he did pity Evie for. "Then there's Jill and Will. They're both in sixth grade. They're pretty awesome, as far as little siblings go. You don't have any siblings, do you?" He couldn't recall Evie ever mentioning them, but then again, he didn't know all that much about Evie's personal life. Now what positions she was good at in bed...that was a different story. That was bound to fix itself soon enough. Word count: 599 To: Ali/Evie Notes: MEHH

It was true that money seemed to be one of the main reasons for her recklessness. The money she made from playing small gigs and the money sent to her from her parents so that she could buy food and essentials was mostly spent on feeding her addictions. It didn't help that the money she was using to gamble sometimes doubled, giving her even more money to burn. It seemed to be that this was the catalyst of her destructive behaviour. There was no doubt that if she suddenly became incredibly wealthy again, her habits would become a thousand times worse.
She noticed the slight change in facial expression on his face. She could tell that what she had accidently told him puzzled him. She could literally feel her heart pounding against her chest, as she waited for the awkward questions to start. But they didn't come. With relief she began to realise that Mark just didn't seem too fussed about RSOR. There was some people around the school who seemed to have a vendetta against the club and would literally do anything to learn what it was all actually about. Mark seemed to be the opposite of this. She suddenly liked Mark all the more for it.
She couldn't help the smile that stretched across her face as he commented on her former selfs beauty and then implied (without actually knowing) that she had not lost it. It was such a simple sentence, albeit it being meant for flirtacious purposes but it made Evie feel all the more happy than she had already been feeling. It was hard to think that just an hour ago she was sitting in the gymnasium crying her eyes out about a nasty prank pulled on her. Now here she was, sitting with a boy who seemed to genuinely like her giving her compliments which made her feel on top of the world. She had suddenly come over all shy which was deffinetly a big testament to how much she liked him. Evie was cool and confident, perhaps a little too confident for her own good. She was pretty new to this, and it shown through. There had been a few guys that she had been romantically linked with in the past but it usually fizzled out within weeks. This was the first time in which she genuinely liked the guy, hence the small blush that was now creeping across her cheeks. "Thanks. That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me." She avoided his eyes as she said that, out of fear that her blush would give her away at how shy she hand suddenly gotten around him and reached her hand out across the bench and found Marks fingers, lightly holding onto them whilst looking down at her shoes.
Luckily Mark chose this time to tell her a little about his family. She let out a chuckle at his comment about rooming with Chelsea. "Actually I don't think I could have asked for a better roommate. She can drive me nuts with her lectures sometimes but she's been a really good friend as well." Now that the moment had passed ater Mark's compliment, Evie felt herself settle back down again. She looked up at him grinning after commenting about Chelsea. She had also heard Chelsea talk about Will and Jill but she had yet to meet them. Mark then asked if she had any siblings and so she decided to give him some information on her family as well. "No I'm an only child. It was boring when I was little but now I'm kind of glad because it means I don't have to share clothes and I get more presents for Christmas because of it." She grinned at this comment before carrying on. "My mother is an administrator and my dad is a sous chef. They both live in Riverdale but I decided to live at the school to get some independance and give my parents some space." Her living situation was perhaps a blessing and curse. For one her parents didn't see exactly what she was up to. But perhaps they needed to see what she was doing to herself so that they could talk some sense into her.
Time was getting on and Evie had already been told off three times during the week for being of school grounds after hours. She couldn't be bothered for another detention. She'd already had two last week. With this desicion to get back to her dorm as soon as possible sorted she stood up from the bench and then looked at Mark. "I should really be heading back. For some reason I don't think they'd let me off for a fourth time. So...did you want to come to my dorm for a bit? I don't think Chelsea's there." For once, Evie was unsure of what Mark's answer to this question would be. Before tonight, she wouldn't need to finish the question before he was dragging her back and ripping her clothes off. And in all honestly, she wasn't really sure if she wanted to tonight. Things between them had suddenly changed. He was no longer a booty call for her. And she was pretty sure that he felt the same about her.

The Simmons family was not horrible off either. They weren't the richest family by any means, but they lived comfortably, especially when one considered the fact that they had four children between the ages of 11 and 17. Some of Mark's own recklessness was influenced by the fact that he, or his parents, could usually afford to get out of whatever trouble he'd landed himself in. That said, he had yet to be arrested... Mark couldn't help but smile at Evie's reaction to his praise. It was meant as a flirtatious comment, yes, but that didn't mean that he didn't mean it. He did think Evie was quite attractive in more ways than one. Their personalities seemed to suit each other. She was physically appealing to him as well. He genuinely enjoyed spending time with her in more ways than one. The junior was happy to hear Evie praising Chelsea. Sure, he teased her, and sure, he grew annoyed with her at times, but anyone insulting his sister would have to deal with him. The same thing could be said for Evie, but at this point, between Chelsea and Evie, Chelsea won out. Not that he didn't care for Evie, but blood was thicker than water in this case. "I don't know that I could survive being an only child. I mean, I probably could, but...I don't know. I don't remember ever not having siblings. Chelsea was born when I was a year and three months old." Mark nodded as Evie explained her (quite similar to his) living situation. "Yeah, our family's in Riverdale too, but they're near the outskirts of town, so really, it's easier for us to just stay here." Of course, his living situation meant that he could also get up to no good more often without his parents' knowledge...and as long as Chelsea didn't find out, he didn't need to worry about his parents finding out. Speaking of which...Evie invited him back to her dorm, commenting that Chelsea was out. "Sure," came his response almost straight off, "but even if she's there, that's no big deal. We can just chat. She's going to have to find out about us eventually." Mark commented with a grin. Yes, he had in fact used the word us. He wondered what Evie's response to that would be. Evie had no reason not to give Chelsea any praise. The two were like sisters and Evie could honestly say that at the moment it was Chelsea who looked the most out for her. Her nagging about Evie's drinking problems grated on her, but when it came down to it she knew that Chelsea was just being a good friend. She actually could not recall a time when the two had had a proper falling out. It had just never happened. Evie was a ballsy girl who said what she thought and also did what the heck she wanted to do. Life in Versailles 300 years ago had restricted so much and now she making up for lost time. Chelsea was Susan. B. Anthony, somebody who knew how to stick up for herself. Go figure. Their friendship worked so well that if there was any problems, the two young ladies would just be straight with each other. 98% of the time they got on like a house on fire. Which was a good thing considering they roomed together.
Mark's casual wording of his next sentence surprised Evie. She had never heard him refer to them as 'us' and it pretty much knocked her for six. Not in a bad way though, for his words once again made a smile appear on her face. A funny feeling was in a her tummy, as she took hold of his hand and began to make her way back up the street to the school. "Us? I kind of like how that sounds. But yeah lets tell her. It'll be awkward if were hanging around and she doesn't know what's going on." She pondered what Chelsea would say to their official outing of their feelings. Not once had Evie expressed some sort of interest of Mark to Chelsea and she was pretty sure that it was vice versa as she would have guessed that Chelsea would have questioned her by now. She was also pretty certain that Chelsea had no idea of their hook ups, as again the younger girl would have mentioned something. She was honestly looking forward to seeing her reaction.
The grounds came closer and soon they had reached the entrance of the high school again. It seemed as though prom was finishing up, as there were quite a few couples about making their way home. That was good. At least they wouldn't be caught sneaking back into the school. Now to face Chelsea...if she was in the dorm of course.
There was quite a struggle to get back to the dorms. Most people who boarded seemed to have gone and so the stairs leading to the rooms was a little chaotic. 10 minutes of shoving and pushing later and they had arrived in the landing, where Evie spotted a number of students going back to each others dorms. At least tonight she wouldn't be singled out amongst the student body like usual.

As for Chelsea, she was back at the dorm fairly early. She'd stopped by prom, if only to see what was happening. Unfortunately she was propositioned (read - forced) into a dance by one Errol Murdock, who in Chelsea's eyes could be likened to the Antichrist. The worst part was that her brother was actually friends with the jerk. Shortly after her dance with Errol, Chelsea took her leave. There was no way she was going to stick around, not when she didn't even really want to go in the first place. Therefore, she had failed to see the incident with Evie, and had actually been back at the dorm for an hour or so before she even heard the knock on the door that she could only assume to be Evie. Chelsea let out a sigh and closed her eyes, psyching herself up for what would most likely be a drunken Evie falling all over the place. When the sixteen year old opened the door, she was surprised to see that, in fact, Evie was not alone, and that she was not as far gone as Chelsea first suspected. That didn't mean that it wasn't coming, though. She headed back to her bunk, snatching up her purse. "I take it I should head out? If so, that's fine, I can just head to Isa's." Or somebody's. She couldn't say she wanted to stick around while her brother and roommate decided to romp around together. That was almost on par with what poor Oliver had to deal with...she might have to stop teasing him if that were the case. Word Count: 287 To: Ali/Evie (and me with Mark, lol) Notes: Ayup
