alright. let's settle this debate. which is better? the game with the elves, gods, and magic or the game with dragons (and magic and dragonflies and gary oldman as a voice actor and dragon's beathing everything from fire to fear to ice to poison. / admin addition) ...but mostly just dragons where as zelda has horses and golden triangles and romance and sadness and talking trees and bombs and awesomeness / tina's addition

Compared to Zelda, Spyro is a beginner's game. D= Spyro was good and system plays into this too, but I don't enjoy them like I used to. It gets you into playing games, and it was probably the best role-playing game for Playstation, so that at least goes in it's favour.
But Zelda is timeless, and they are coming out with more and more of them that are good for children, teenagers and adults a like. The plots in Zelda have some reoccurring factors, but they storyline are different and how they approach them are different. They are a universally enjoy game, and for me Spyro pales in comparison.
It is also good to note that the Zelda games have also fared a lot better in sales too. Zelda has sold 52 Million Games worldwide. Spyro has only managed to sell 20 Million by comparison. So it seems that most people prefer Zelda over Spyro. D= (Click)
Oh, and the stories in Zelda games are much more compelling.
Now! Tina!! I want my piece of that Triforce! -sits with her Hylian Sheild, a bunny hood and hover boots-
I would also like to add that Zelda has a race based on the peterpan complex, giant rolling mole-people, merpeople, connections to other worlds, flexible characters that reappear, are reincarnated or are just there despite the timeline gaps from game to game! Now that is fantasy
And once I've managed to play through, and complete every Zelda game, then I am getting myself a Triforce Tattoo. I promised myself.

I just recently played spyro and it is not really all that easy (I'm a gamer and cannot get 100% on them -- . Well, ok the third one is pretty easy to a point, but I cannot for the life of me beat the sparx worlds, and the first one is probably one of the most difficult challenging of them. They even have a two player co-op on the wii version. I love spyro but that might be due to the fact that I have never played Zelda. I never had nintendo systems and so thus I did not get them. The game looked interesting, but I felt that they were just the same game over and over again. >>; but hey I love purple and dragons and being able to be a black dragon on a squid skateboard :3

Okay! Hang on a minute here!
Who just voted for Spyro who ACTUALLY played Zelda? I have played both and I find Zelda much better than Spyro. But from what I've gathered, almost everyone here who has voted Spyro it was because they have never played Zelda. (Correct me if I am wrong D=)
Oh, and playing the few crappy ones for Zelda don't count...-coughnintendodsgamescough-
-recieves the triforce piece and prepares an acceptance speech- I would like to thank...aw screw it! -sings- I got a piece of the triforce! I got a piece of the triforce!! -dances-

As much as I love both, Zelda got me into videogames as a child. So I pick Zelda =D
