don’t need another perfect line, don’t care if critics ever jump in line… OZ JENSON ==================================== Oz smiled as she mentioned the thought he’d put into the whole problem/game. Of course he had. He was no fool and he wasn’t about to wander blind into a battle without knowing all sides and the effect they had on the other forces. He also made sure to note the people in charge; who had power and who didn’t. He was particularly interested in possible reactions to his ploys and he needed to manipulate. One wrong reaction could have caused a disaster. And the one thing he had overlooked was the person in front of him. He had been unaware of her role in events and it had screwed him over, but at the same time, it had given him a means to keep her from screwing him over more than simply by knowing too much. At least this way she couldn’t spill…he put that train of thought aside.
”Of course I have. You don’t get involved in something that could cause as much damage to you as to others without first considering all sides of the story and all parties involved. In order to operate my ideas properly I needed a knowledge of the players and their effect on the board,”
He explained. ”But I must say, that is getting a little too into the game for what I intended tonight.” He added. He had given her a bit of information there, but it was harmless intell that after a short time with Oz around she would have picked up anyways. He was always reading and anticipating people. It was the only way to run anything smoothly with no surprises. Though, as previously mentioned, Alison had been more than a surprise. Seeing her smirk falter, he immediate ran through what he had said a second time to see if he had over spoken something. His own smile never faltered, but it was slightly different than his genuine one all the same. Hearing her next question, he could almost relax, but he knew better. This was still a game, and in a way she was pumping for information. ”Where I fall? Alright, I will tell you where I fall, but you also fall somewhere in the scheme of things and I want an answer in return, fair?” He asked, not really waiting for a response before he continued. ”I am a high school junior, from a rich family who doesn’t care what I am doing or my involvement in anything. So long as I behave and keep the family name in good graces they consider me to be the perfect child. But that money is not mine, that status is barely mine…and honestly, look at my standing within this school. I blend in like the majority of RSOR…I move about unnoticed and unheard most of the time. So what do you think I have to lose?” He asked, his tone completely honest, as his expression. His expression was more searching, trying to see how she processed the information he had given her. He had allowed many open areas in what he said, allowing her gather what she would. He liked to play a risky game, and that was just what he was doing. But honestly, she had nothing to do with what she gathered yet. Not until she herself had nothing to lose by telling everyone what he had been up to. And she had something to lose…he knew that much. So she fell in that category. But he still wanted to hear an answer, seeing as he had given one himself. Though, his answer hardly tapped into why he was doing what he was doing… He nodded as she mentioned the social events she had been to. He took the step to assume she meant in the past before this life, seeing as she said “in my day” and this was hardly anyone in RSOR’s day. ”That I agree with. If not for the modification of the skills required over time, it wouldn’t be such a difficult set of skills for everyone to learn.” He was of course, referring to the past and how etiquette had evolved. Women had a more prominent role now, and his role was much more minor than it had once been when it came to social events. Oz smiled a genuine smile when she said she could have had a worse date. ”Thank you, I will take that as a compliment. Though I am sure you have your own ideas of who would be a much better date…I’d not even be here if not for our current predicament,” Oz commented. He didn’t attend the social events at Riverdale. He had no reason to. He had no friends, he had no date, and he had no game playing to do, seeing as he didn’t really want to ruin anyone else’s night. Even Oz had his limits.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Alison Driscoll •• •• Words • 812 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Secrets" by One Republic ••

For the first time, Oz was mentioning a huge weakness to Alison. It was something that caused insecurity for a good number of RSOR members, in fact. Many of them were used to being in high positions in society, and were now forced to blend in as ordinary high school students. Alison never found it all that hard, but then, her status was different than former kings and queens. She'd met kings and queens in her time, yes. She'd met the who's who of the early 20th century, in fact. She did what she could to aid the women's rights movements. However, she was not royalty herself. She did not know what it was to be so high and to fall so low. She did know one thing - It couldn't be a very pleasant feeling. She took her time in answering. "I think you don't have much to lose at all. You said it yourself, the ones who have nothing to lose take the greatest risks. Of everyone here...you're taking the greatest risk of them all." The Anti-RSOR was straightforward about what they were doing, and it was really no risk to them to reveal their motives. They were already wide out in the open. Oz, however, operated in the shadows, a reputation and safety within an organization at stake (which could be argued as something to lose, but Alison didn't think that anyone could really be kicked out of RSOR for good - sure, they may not be allowed to enter the attic, but that knowledge of RSOR would always be with them, as well as the knowledge that they were not alone). He was taking some heavy duty risks! Then the subject turned back to the dance, and Alison smiled a little as he stated that he'd take her comment as a compliment. "As you should. As for me...I would have attended, no doubt about it. I've always enjoyed these sorts of events. I know others who would have to be dragged to these, but I apparently did enough speaking for all of us." This was a small hint as to who she was, but it was so small that the chances of Oz discerning that she was Katharine Wright were slim to none. She did have to throw in another jab at Oz, though. It just wouldn't be right otherwise. "Well, I'm glad you came. We wouldn't be having this charming conversation if you hadn't, now would we?" Not her preferred way of spending the night, but again...could be worse. The evening was turning out much better than she expected, and that in itself was something. Word count: 462 To: Jez-E/Oz Notes:

don’t need another perfect line, don’t care if critics ever jump in line… OZ JENSON ==================================== Oz didn’t think of the other RSOR members and how they might feel with the change. In fact, he barely considered how he had changed in all this if he could help it. It just wasn’t a topic he wanted to think about. But he was aware that none of them belonged here initially and now had to make a place for themselves. He often wondered if one day it would come out about who they are and let the world know just what was going on. But he doubted it. Too many members of RSOR had something they could be forced to pay for; Something that would get them a trial or even just a death sentence. Did they even do those anymore?
Oz nodded, wondering if that was her opinion before or after he had given his. He didn’t ask and just let the topic rest. It was easier that way. Risks must be taken for any ground to be gained. The greater the risk, the greater the possibility,”
Oz said, and that was something he honestly believed. But big risks also were just that. Risks. They were capable of falling in the opposite direction, something Oz wasn’t used to having happen to him. As a result, he only saw the positive to taking the risk for the time being. How things turned out was yet to be determined. Oz listened as Alison explained that she would be at the event anyways. He was interested in the fact that she enjoyed social events and felt he should rule out any historical queens as her previous life. Most of those from royalty recognized social gatherings like this one as a political thing and not a place for fun. No, she wasn’t a queen…or at least not a political one. Perhaps a trophy queen? ”I would much rather avoid them. Formal events were always about politics in most of history…in my time, a formal event meant people catering to me, but it also meant there were people in my presence who were merely there because they had to be. It’s hard to enjoy that type of atmosphere,” Oz explained. He didn’t add on that he had enjoyed it then, despite that—but was reminded of what it wasn’t by being here. He didn’t like reminders of the past if he could avoid them, though he loved to use those historical reminders on other RSOR members, whether it appeared intentional to them or not. Oz smirked as Alison jabbed at the conversation. ”Well then by all means, if you don’t like the topic change it…” Oz offered, ignoring her tone and the jibe itself. He didn’t want to ruin what was already looking like a decent night. In fact, he was finding Alison to be quite good conversation, even if it was merely talk of games and both sides pressing for a bit of information, even if that wasn’t the intention.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Alison Driscoll •• •• Words • 490 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Secrets" by One Republic ••

Through this conversation, Alison was learning more about Oz than she bargained for. This would likely help her in the game that they had going, but at the same time, she had a feeling that he was watching her as closely as she him, and that he was catching a few things off of her that he could use to his advantage. The thought bothered her, but there wasn't much that she could do about it now. Regardless of her disapproval of the risks that Oz was taking, she did have to admit that he had an attitude that she could admire. "I think everyone in RSOR can relate to that saying to some extent." Who in RSOR hadn't taken risks? Even though she hadn't led a war, or invented anything, or ruled a country, she had taken risks by standing up for her rights as a woman. People didn't get anywhere if they weren't willing to take a few risks here and there. Alison nodded. "Believe it or not, I can relate to some extent. I enjoyed talking to the who's who of the early 20th century, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it was hard to keep smiling and charming them when I needed to." She'd done it, and she had enjoyed it for the most part. Still, meeting royalty in Europe, inventors in America, even just everyday people did grow tiring after a while. Even extroverts need time to themselves to recharge. She might have been better off than Wilbur and Orville at dealing with people, but she was still new to the world she was being thrust into. "I don't much mind the subject now. It beats talking about the weather, now doesn't it?" Regardless of who she went with, if she was stuck chatting about the weather during a prom date...well, she wouldn't be sticking around there for long. Word count: 330 To: Jez-E/Oz Notes: Now I picture them talking candidly about the weather...or using weather references to talk about what's going on in their lives. XD

don’t need another perfect line, don’t care if critics ever jump in line… OZ JENSON ==================================== Oz wasn’t really thinking in terms of the social game he was playing just yet. He was honest in his intentions to leave it be for today. But he had a very receptive memory and would likely remember all the important details tomorrow, not to mention his mind was instinctively picking them out anyways. It had been too long since he had just relaxed with no games to be played and no one to impress. Oz had lived two lives of appearances versus reality and he wasn’t about to let himself lose it all now. Though, he had lost it all already once before…that was what rebirth had meant for him. He had been proclaimed a god, promised to be a god…losing it all was coming back in this life, not death. This life meant he wasn’t a god, but a common man.
Oz nodded in agreement. ”The feeling is like no one else will ever understand…no one who hasn’t been..”
Oz glanced around again. Of all the sensitive information they were discussing this was by far the most important to him. ”reincarnated.” he added, his tone quieter than it was. Reincarnates understood the world to its core a lot more clearly than anyone else, and they also had the knowledge of another world…some of that knowledge was even lost to the world today. Oz was one of those people. Reincarnates would be revolutionary in the real world, but like anyone else, Oz didn’t want that to happen. Everyone was safer if it didn’t. Oz was somewhat surprised to hear Alison could relate at all to the social event issue. She seemed quite intent on them from what she had said and done so far. ”Seems the life’s a game analogy works in all senses,” he agreed. ”When there is something on the line it is hard to be honest and appear honestly. It’s much easier to lead the one you need, to where they need to be to get what you want. This world is one of trying to do what’s best for yourself, or your loved ones. Some things never change. It was the same when I was alive before,” Oz commented. It was human nature after all to advance and out manoeuvre the other guy. Oz smiled, ”The weather is quite lovely…” Oz said, a playful smile on his face that hadn’t been there comfortably in sometime. He was obviously joking and found it a little refreshing to be at close to genuine as he had been with Alison so far. This was proving to be a difficult situation as he was starting to really like the person he was blackmailing. And that was never a good thing.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Alison Driscoll •• •• Words • 451 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Secrets" by One Republic •• •• Notes • I almost had Oz start a weather metaphor just for my own humor. xD ••
