Too busy with other pursuits. Anyone else need to take a break from the daily grind? Given what time of year it is, I can't be the only one...[/blockquote]

Yeah, I'm procrastinating as well. Can only work on English homework for so long before getting stir crazy. Frequent breaks are a must with that subject, lol. I'm Oliver, by the by. [/blockquote]

message by Ana~Bow~Nana [/size] English is such a stupid class. As if we don't already know how to talk! As soon as they get into the poetry units I just want to shoot myself.
I am Ana, nice to meet you Oliver.

That would be awfully messy. I don't mind reading or writing, I just don't see the need to read and write just because a teacher wants you to. When I want to read and write, I'll do it on my own time. I also highly doubt William Shakespeare wrote everything he wrote for the sole purpose of having high schoolers dissect every last bit of it, but try telling the English department that, lol. Nice to meet you too, Ana. Not sure that I've heard the name before...grade?[/blockquote]

message by Ana~Bow~Nana [/size] At least I won't have to clean up the mess?
Here Here! Shakespeare totally had entertainment in mind...not boring dissection. Too bad the English Department is forced to follow a curriculum. Imagine the fun it could be if it was taught differently. They could teach us how to talk like Shakespeare instead of trying to make us understand what 'tis thou art not fish' means in biblical terms or through symbolism.
Oh, I am in Grade 10. Most people know me for my bright colored clothes and that I wear a lot of jewelery. And you, you are a freshman right? Weren't you the Oliver who was talked about by that creep 'The Wizard' a couple weeks ago?

Shakespeare on his own actually isn't that bad. It's all of the dissecting that we have to do for school that kind of ruins it. That and the fact that his version of English is so different from ours. I know language evolves, but you can tell there's been a few hundred years passage between then and now. That'd be me. Glad to hear that you think he's a creep too. Then again, he's not exactly making any friends...I'd love to know who he is. Or she, I suppose. Doesn't necessarily have to be a he.[/blockquote]

message by Ana~Bow~Nana [/size] Well, she is clearly butting into people's space and lives that is creepy. Well...he or she. You said he? Do you suspect someone or just assuming? I was thinking it was a girl cause of all the gossip. It seems more feminine than masculine.
Oh and Shakespeare just sucks in my books. I just don't get the hype. Though I guess for his time it must have been big...
I am not huge on most books though. I'd much rather go out and do something...
