search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downLex was curious now. It wasn’t surprising really. It didn’t take a lot to surprise him when it came to Skylar. The thought that two people had tackled him was still running in his mind and he carried the boy to his room. The thought of what he was doing was making him very warm, and he was hyper aware of every point of the other boy’s body touched his. His neck was flexing and his muscles were jumping and twitching slightly under Sky’s hand. He ignored it, and the rest of the places, as best as he could and focused on getting up all of the stairs, and not passing out.
Like he had said before, Skylar was by no means heavy compared to some of the other people that Lex had hefted around. But it was different, having his side killing him, and walking up how many staircases to the effing dorms. He grunted with effort, and came to the second floor, pleased with their slow, but steady assent up the stairs they had just fallen down. The way was thankfully flat for awhile, before they hit the other set of stairs. Lex bit back a moan. He felt sick. This was harder than he thought. Sure, plop the inventor into his arms at some other time, when he was fit, and clean and handsome and without broken ribs. He imagined that time and place as they approached more stairs. He glared up the daunting steps and started up them.
Now to continue to the dorm tower. Clammy sweat was starting to coat his forehead and he grimaced at the way he must look. Bloody and sweaty, and a mess. Probably rather like the time he had broken his nose while playing basketball. Then he noticed that the boy was trying as hard as he could not to look at him.
That made him feel both sad and relieved. Skylar didn’t want to look at him obviously, which was a mixed bag. Relief was coursing through him because the older boy wouldn’t be looking at his macabre face, and regret, because it reminded him once more of his unrequited feelings. Pushing the thoughts away, as his steps suddenly turned sluggish and depressed, he decided to make more conversation.
“Who tackled you?” he muttered into the back of the other boy’s head. It was a flippant comment made a while ago, when they were still at the bottom of the first staircase. But the curiosity was killing the cat, and he couldn’t resist the question before it was out of his lips and muffled in blonde hair.
It was good that the other boy was okay to drive. Lex wasn’t sure that his motorcycle would fit the two of them. They were just lucky it was Sky’s left ankle and not his right one. Another thought ran through his head. The thought of the doctors holding down Skylar for an x-ray. He knew the feeling. His parents had to carry him into the room for his chemo treatments, his frail body kicking and screaming all of the way. He winced at the thought that he might be back there soon, trying to keep from throwing up every few seconds, losing his chocolate brown hair. He sniffled at the thought and had to urge himself not to cry or panic.
“Oh, and Sky?” he muttered thickly. “I know what it’s like to be scared of that place.”
Lex cleared his throat and once again focused on putting one foot in front of the other. He was still trying to decide whether to tell the young genius what he was talking about, and then finally decided that if Sky were to ask him why, then he wouldn’t lie to him or keep the answer hidden. It might feel good to tell someone. No one really knew besides his family. He had lied even to Drizzle when they were in the gym and he had had his first nose bleed. Said he had hit himself in the nose with a basketball, and that it was just acting up from when he broke it last. Lex twitched said nose and sniffed again. At least it was spared from the evil stairs.
It was surprising that no one had seen them so far. Lex was rather relieved, but didn’t feel like acknowledging it. This situation would have been rather difficult to explain to someone if they happened upon the duo. Both covered in blood, with the older boy in Lex’s arms, they looked like two unlucky soldiers from battle. And then, the way he was carrying Sky in his arms, “bridal style,” Lex shuddered, would cause quite a stir among the RSOR.
Then he looked around and laughed. The pain was excruciating, and he stifled a groan. It was just the hilarity of the situation that made it impossible for him to take it seriously. He was just so clueless and silly. They were both bleeding, and in need of some serious TLC, and he didn’t know where they were going. Why did he even lie in the first place and say that he did? If he was truthful with himself, Lex knew the answer. He wanted to seem impressive. Great idea, super genius.
“You know something?” he said quietly, and grinned a bit against Sky’s soft hair. “I may have nodded when you asked if I knew where your room was…But I just realized I have no idea. You’re gonna have to tell me when we get up the tower.”
Speak of the devil; they were at the walkway to the tower. Up three flights of stairs, and they were almost there. Lex felt so happy that he could cry. He took the little bit at such a fast walk he was almost running. He held the inventor away from his body, to shield him from the jolts that his fast walking was causing. He didn’t want to cause any more pain to Sky’s ankle.
“So,” he said, smiling at all of the dorms around them. The pride in getting them all the way there was filling him with elation. “Which one? Where to?” words;; 1031 tag;; sky/cal status;; complete notes;; ehhh....i am so tired.... wearing;; CLICKlyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

Couldn't take all this anymoreWhat would you do, do, do? Skylar knew that Lex would probably ask who had tackled him. Really it wasn't surprising who it was at all, just it was probably normal curiosity that would cause it to be asked. Though he had to say he was definitely glad nobody had seen them. He was also definitely hoping that neither of his roommates were at the dorms. That they were out enjoying good weather or doing something other than being in the room. Explaining this to them as well would just be a pain in the ass and make it take longer for them to get to the hospital. That would certainly not be good either being that he was bleeding pretty bad actually. Which was probably why he was a bit light headed. Yeah, should probably focus on not passing out and stop the bleeding soon. Also definitely explained why he was feeling a bit light headed. So he leaned his head on Lex's shoulder and closed his eyes. Definitely didn't want to watch the hall spin. Seeing as it would only make him sick in the long run. Thus he broke the rule of not moving and put his head on Lex's shoulder. He doubted that the boy would mind, especially being that it should be no difference. Maybe make it slightly more awkward, but there was nothing he could do about that. He wished he could walk, being that it would make things easier. Then Lex wouldn't have to carry him up stairs with a broken rib. Hell he might even have to carry him back down the stairs. He would do his best to avoid that though and would walk down the stairs pain or not maybe. Or he would just slide down them. Either way it didn't matter just so long as Lex didn't injure himself more trying to carry him around. Maybe the boy could do it normally, but with a broken rib he doubted it was easy.
The conversation started up again luckily. Seeing as it was slightly awkward that they were walking in silence. Especially being that he was being carried in silence. Now though, could he focus on the conversation? He felt him speaking as the air brushed against his head. "Drizzle and my roommate Fox did on separate occassions. Neither of them knew I was burned at the time. I did it before Fox became my roommate, and Driz is just huggy." he said simply with a slight smile. It was not a big deal, what was a big deal was that she had proceeded to poke him again. Really, that was just unintelligent, or mean. Either way he would definitely be keeping a bit of distance from her. Seeing as he didn't want to irritate his burns even more than they already were at this point. They were bleeding and he didn't want it to become any worse at this point. The only thing was that he had to rebandage it and then it should be fine. Well, it should be fine. Sure he should probably get it looked at, but he honestly didn't want to have to explain what happened there. Which, while it wasn't his brightest idea, he was going to stick with it. He would have to make sure to inform Lex of his plan so something didn't slip accidentally. He'd mention it once they got in the room though. Until then they would just continue this conversation. At least it wasn't just dead silent anymore. That was simply awkward and it certainly didn't help to keep him from fainting or something. He heard Lex talking again and opened one eye. "Hm?...." he asked when Lex said his name. Then he heard that Lex knew what it was like to be afraid of the hospital. What did he mean by that? Figured he should probably ask actually. He was definitely curious. He looked up at him and blinked quite confused. "What do you mean?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head. He supposed if Lex didn't want to talk about it then he didn't have to, but he would ask anyway.
He felt the shudder and was curious if it was from the question or something else. Either way though he was going to pretend he didn't feel it. Then Lex laughed and of course Edison was rather confused. Especially seeing as it was going to obviously cause pain. It was a moment later when he learned why he was laughing. "What?" he said answering his question of you know something. Then he heard the younger boy say he had no idea where his room was. Sky had to laugh slightly. "Then why did you say you did you loon?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. He shook his head and laughed a little bit. Well that was certainly a fail on Lex's part, but oh well he was fine with it. Though now he was walking quite a bit faster, and honestly Sky didn't have any idea why. Just because they were closer? Didn't he realize that not long after he would have to go back down the stairs. Oh well, he wouldn't wreck the fun quite yet, and instead he would get his keys so that he could get into his room. He heard the question and shook his head with another laugh. "I'm in room three oh four." he said with a smile. Sky then pulled his key out of his pocket and once they reached the door he opened it and noted that nobody was there. Well, that was awesome. He was glad his roommates had social lives or something better to do. "All the first aid stuff is in the bathroom. I have quite a bit seeing as I'm injured often." he said directing Lex to the bathroom. He then pointed to the cupboard. "In there is bandages and such." he said with a slight sigh. He wished he didn't need it so much, but he did so thus he had a supply of it in his bathroom cupboard. It took up most of it and so he had to reorganize once he was assigned roommates. He had been used to not having them after all.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downLex now had another frightful thought. Today was full of unpleasant situations and difficult questions and silences. He wanted as few as possible. And that wouldn’t be easy considering one thing. Skylar had roommates. Most of the students at the school did. He, thankfully, didn’t. It was some fluke in the admissions, or the rooming set up, or something. But the lucky streak was just fine with him. Just the thought of someone moving his things from their place, or leaving globs of toothpaste on the bathroom sink was enough to make him start to panic. But what if Sky’s roommates were there? What if they saw them, like this, and asked awkward questions? Lex didn’t want that in the slightest.
There was something wet on his abdominal muscles, and at first he thought his ribs had broken the skin and he was bleeding. Then he realized that the blood wasn’t his own, and that the older boy cradled in his arms was loosing more blood than he initially thought he was. This was punctuated by the fact that the inventor suddenly leaned his head onto Lex’s shoulder. Lex’s heartbeat picked up substantially and he sighed contentedly. This was perfect. If only they both weren’t injured so badly, and Skylar wasn’t slowly bleeding out in his arms.
Sky’s heartbeat was slow and calm, but Lex was nervous about that. Was it the loss of blood, or the calmness of the silent seconds that had passed? He had found the quiet rather unnerving, and that was why he had started the conversation again. But Sky’s heart…Lex’s was fluttering like a bird’s, fast with nerves and excitement and embarrassment. That was dangerous though. If he didn’t find a way to calm himself, then he would do something rash, and be unable to explain himself out of it. Lex gulped.
The two people that tackled the young genius were surprising. Well, not really actually. Lex smirked and thought about the two younger members of the RSOR. Driz was a rainbow in human form, and her sunshine-y personality made it understandable why she would tackle the brooding and handsome Sky. And Fox, he was just, well…A fox. The pun aside, he was a fantastic flirt, whether straight or gay, and he couldn’t seem to keep off of anything that moved. The knowledge that Fox was Sky’s roommate was a little more unsettling. He didn’t much like the idea of them together for a lot of time. Then Lex scolded himself. Jealous, and he wasn’t even dating the inventor.
Then, Lex sighed, the inventor asked about his fear of hospitals. He had promised himself that he would tell if the boy asked. This was a big step though, with someone he wasn’t exactly best friends with. In fact, he had no idea how to define their relationship. His definition would definitely be different than Sky’s, so he decided to wait and see what the other boy called them. But right now the older boy was waiting, and so he gulped and inhaled a big breath.
“I haven’t told anybody this,” he rasped and cleared his throat, trying again. “When I was twelve I got…leukemia. It was bad. I had to have a lot of chemo. And radiation.”
Now that he had started, it was like he couldn’t stop. The words kept rolling off his tongue like waves, and he didn’t have the heart to bite it and hold his silence. It was like, cliché as it sounds, several pounds were lifted off of his exhausted shoulders with just those few words. It felt wonderful. But he was starting to ramble.
“I lost my hair, and I was sick all of the time. They had to carry me to the hospital.”
In his eyes he could see the sickly green walls and smell the too-clean bleach smell of the people, the surfaces and even the food. He had to fight the panic again. But he laughed it off and tried to make a joke of it.
“Bald wasn’t a good look for me,” he sighed dramatically and blew his forehead curl out of his eyes. Maybe it was time for a trim, so that his hair wouldn’t get too shaggy. Then he frowned. This was a serious subject. He didn’t need to make it seem like he was a complete and utter jackass, even about his own life. That wasn’t really a way to make him seem like a good boyfriend. To anyone. “No one really knows. Consider yourself special to me.”
Lex blushed deeply when the young inventor teased him slightly. The nickname was rather cute, and but he felt rather dumb. More so than he had even when he had first asked where the room was.
He followed Skylar’s instructions and found himself in a rather clean room. There were quite a few books, and he was rather unsurprised by that. Thankfully, no one was there. Lex exhaled a breath he didn’t know he was holding, and looked around more freely. But before he could take too much more in, the inventor directed him to the bathroom.
It too was clean, and Lex smiled and allowed himself to daydream for a second about the notion of having Skylar for a roommate. Who could blame him? He was a teenage boy.
He pulled the bleeding boy from his body and set him very carefully to sit on the toilet. Lex couldn’t help letting his hands linger on the boy’s waist and shoulders. Then he went into the cabinet and took out the medical kit. It was fully stocked in everything from burn cream to painkillers. Pulling out a few things of gauze and some medical tape, he turned to look at the inventor.
“You should elevate your ankle, so that it doesn’t swell so much.”
It was just a suggestion, but he hoped the other boy would listen. Lex looked down at him. His shirt was stained with blood, and his hands were crimson too. This was a good shirt, but some things just happened that way.
He grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it off as quickly as he could. It still hurt like a mother, and he groaned loudly in his chest. He didn’t dare look down at his ribs, and just turned to the intensely injured Skylar.

Couldn't take all this anymoreWhat would you do, do, do? Skylar was definitely hoping that his roommates weren't there. Fox would demand he go to the hospital right away, but he wanted to keep the burn from being noticed. Which was why he was going to his room first. That, and he was getting covered in blood. He wanted to avoid getting it all over his car or bleeding out while driving. If his arms were bandaged up then he could avoid that pretty easily he figured. That would keep the blood in his body until a doctor could look at it. Which, he was pretty sure they'd take him fast if he was at risk for bleeding out on the floor or hell if he just passed out from blood loss once he got to the hospital. Which, he had a feeling, that he might end up doing. Especially seeing as he was already light headed and the room was spinning. The inventor had a feeling he was soaking Lex with blood, but there was nothing he could do about it, and instead just layed his head on the younger boy's shoulder. He could hear Lex's heartbeat pick up and wondered if he was worried about him. After all, he was bleeding quite a bit, though he was pretty sure if he could survive being on fire then he could survive falling down the stairs. Though at the moment it was hard to tell. If he died by stairs this life he would certainly be pissed about it that was for sure. Anyway, he wasn't going to think about it right now and just concentrate on remaining calm so he didn't panic and end up bleeding faster. Seeing as that would just make it so they would have to call an ambulence rather than just walking into the hospital of their own will. Then they would really be questioned as to why they went back to his room instead of walking in immediately. Well, that would be due to the fact that he figured if he got something to hold the blood in then he would be able to go to the hospital without too much issue. Whatever, if it happened then they would deal with it then, but if not then it was going to be fine and he would just be light headed and possibly daffy on pain killers.
At least the conversation had started again and it wasn't just silence. Seeing as that was pretty awkward and would only make him blush more possibly. Especially if anyone happened on them. Being that Sky was in Lex's arms and laying on his shoulder. Ah well, he could definitely say he was light headed and being that he was bleeding quite a bit he doubt there would be any arguments there. If there were then he would definitely pass out if too much time passed. Still wasn't going to think about that too much though being that it was a rather unpleasant thought. Besides, he doubted that would be comfortable for either of them. Also, there was the issue of having an ambulence ride would probably get him even more yelled at than he was going to be. Ah well, honestly he didn't care. He'd just put it on speaker phone and then tune it out seeing as they wouldn't believe him when he said he fell down the stairs. Nothing he could do about that though even if Lex told them the same thing. Especially considering he would probably be scolded in French rather than English. Then Lex started to explain why he knew what it was like to be afraid of the hospital and Sky looked up at him. Leukemia? Oh geeze, that was considerably worse than just being afraid of x-rays. He heard him mention he hadn't told anyone, which made him wonder why he was telling him. Sure he had asked, but that didn't mean he had to actually say. Could have just stated that he didn't want to talk about it. It was kinda sad to hear him talk about it, and honestly Sky had nothing to say. Hearing the comment about bald wasn't a good look for him he thought about that for a moment. "I can't imagine it being a good look for anyone honestly." he noted with a slight smile at him. Then of course he had to go and call him special which caused Sky to blush quite a bit. Though he did get his revenge moments later when Lex blushed as Sky called him a loon.
Skylar unlocked the door and walked into his pretty much spotless room. Yeah, so he was a bit of an organizational freak at times. His desk looked like a mess, but that wasn't the case being that everything was in bins and labled. Anyway, he directed Lex to the bathroom where all the medical supplies were. They filled most of the cupboard, but there was a reason for that. He'd been burned quite a few times, which also meant he had quite a supply of burn cream. Then he felt himself being put down and blinked as he was sitting on the toilet. Hearing the comment, he rolled his eyes a bit and put it up on the edge of the bathtub. "It's already swollen, but might as well anyway I guess." he said with a sigh. Though he did feel a bit bad about soaking Lex in blood, which reminded him the backs of his arms would definitely need fixed up as a priority being that the room was spinning a bit. He saw Lex take off his shirt and blushed slightly. Especially being that he would be taking off his own in a moment to check out the burn once he got his arms bandaged. Taking some gauze and medical tape he wrapped up both of his own arms and winced a bit when he moved them to make sure he could in the bandage. Didn't want it to be too tight after all. Then, of course, he had to pull his shirt off and started unbandaging the burn. It looked bad, all bloody and stuff, but there wasn't really much he could do about it. He was blushing too, and was a bit surprised he had enough blood to do so at the moment. Really he should probably run it under water to figure out what the hell happened. Seemed there were cuts and scrapes on top of it though and it caused him to bleed over the bandage because it was torn and ripped in places. How the hell did he treat that though? Putting germ killer on it would burn like all hell, and burn cream couldn't be good for open cuts. "Well, this is a bit of a dilema." he noted with a sigh. He turned on the bath tub so that he could wash off his arms and hands. The sink was a little far to do that, but the tub was within range.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downA calm and drive-by style thought hit Lex’s mind. As soon as it was in his head, it was gone. The poor inventor was so woozy and had lost a lot of blood. Would he be alright to drive? The former world conqueror wondered if it would be better to call an ambulance, but he didn’t really feel like the pomp and circumstance that would go along with it. That was the whole reason they were avoiding the people, and the roommates. It would be rather pointless to go through all of this trouble for secrecy, and then have the whole school find out if the ambulance showed up. He could just imagine them crowding around the duo and whispering.
Lex was happy that the conversation had started again. The awkward condition of carrying someone down the hall, especially when they were straight, and you well…half-weren’t, and they weren’t talking, was giving him anxiety. And when Lex told the young genius about his leukemia, he realized that Skylar was finally looking directly at him. He gazed into the other boy’s with an intensity, a longing for understanding and comradery. The bald comment was irrelevant, but he smiled anyways, a sad smile. He hoped that Skylar would change his mind some day, when Lex was bald again. Otherwise, there might be some hurt feelings.
Lex noticed the desk, filled with bins and drawings and ideas. He was very impressed with the splendor of it. It seemed to be like the corner of a Leonardo da Vinci. Lex supposed that it was the Thomas Edison in the young inventor, the grandeur of his inventions and his ideas. It caused the young king a strange feeling of awe, as he wondered insanely exactly what thoughts were running through his brain at any given point in the day. It was probably some really heavy stuff, full of possibilities and inventions that could change the world.
Now in the bathroom, they were cramped. Being a school bathroom, it was small to begin with, but with two boys over six feet, one being Lex’s girth, it was claustrophobic. Once Sky set his ankle on the tub, there was a little less than two square feet for Lex to stand. To save himself the humiliation of tripping and falling over the inventor, he sat himself on the edge of the tub, next to the swollen ankle, and right across from Sklyar. Then he watched the boy bandage up his own arms. Lex itched to help, but settled for curling and uncurling his hands on his thighs.
Then, the shirt came off. Lex flushed to the roots of his hair, and averted his eyes a little bit. When he couldn’t help himself but glance, he lingered on Skylar’s collar bones and neck. He didn’t want to look at the burn. The fear that it would make him wince and cry out a little bit was too great. But the magnetic pull of curiosity, of the macabre interests that came with being a teenage boy, got him to look. It was a mess that is for sure. The pale white of Sky’s skin turned without warning to a mottled muddle of cuts, blood, and blisters. Lex’s face twisted up and he had to bite his lip. He didn’t want to say his opinion of the sight. It wasn’t very nice.
The inventor turned on the bathtub, and Lex scooched to the side to allow for more room. As soon as there was enough water he swished his hands in it. It was lukewarm and comfortable. The water was already stained pink with just the cleansing of his hands. So he took a handful and wiped his face, before the water got too grimy to be put anywhere near a place where it could enter his body. His face was dripping now, and he reveled in the cleansing of his gross skin. He sighed and smiled contentedly.
Then he looked over at the struggling inventor.
“Here,” he sighed. Then he took a washcloth from the cupboard and soaked it in the still running water. Then he wringed it out, and took the inventor’s hand. He moved the cloth softly over Skylar’s forearm and cleaned the blood off. He was sure to be careful, to avoid hurting the skin around the area of the bandage. Once one arm was clean, he reached over and rinsed the cloth. Once it was as white as it was going to get, he reached for the other arm and started to clean that as well.
Lex was staring intently at Sky’s arm, watching the pale skin come back into view as the crimson blood left his skin. But then he made the mistake of looking up into the inventor’s eyes. That was his undoing. He was doomed.
Without thinking, without breathing, without even stopping for a second to think, he leaned forward and brushed his lips against the inventor’s. It was hardly anything more than pure contact, and he was away again. His eyes were open in distressed horror, but he urged his face back to normalcy. He stared at his hands on Skylar’s forearm, hoping to hide his dismay. If he acted like it didn’t happen, maybe the young genius would just think that he had imagined it, and they could both go on with their lives and forget that it had ever happened.
Even as he wished for this to happen, he wanted to do it again. His heart was fluttering and airy and light, and his ego was crowing with pride and smug satisfaction. He had wanted something and took it, which he hadn’t done in the longest time.
Now all that was left to do was wait and see what the inventor did in response. words;; 964 tag;;sky/cal status;; complete notes;; wondering if i should be this tired.....hope im not sick.... wearing;; CLICK lyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

Couldn't take all this anymoreWhat would you do, do, do? Skylar was definitely woozy, and probably shouldn't drive. Not at the moment anyway. Though if he stopped bleeding and ate something maybe he would feel better. After all it was a little unnerving to see your own blood all over the place. Besides, people were light headed after giving blood too, so this was pretty average he supposed. Though he was giving his blood to the floor rather than someone who needed it, but that wasn't the point. Not his fault the stairs attacked him. That wasn't important at the moment though seeing as Lex was telling him something important. He had been sick, and with that disease there was a possibility of it coming back. A possibility of dying from it. Sure Skylar could be killed by some of his inventions, and possibly an x-ray if he was messing with them again and doing experiments, but there wasn't anything like that to worry about for him. At least, not yet and he was making sure he didn't end up with diabetes this time around too. Lex was looking at him in a way that confused Skylar. He didn't know what it was like to be that sick, sure he had some type of condition that could kill him last life, but not in this one. He would try to understand though and returned the sad smile after the bald comment. So maybe it wasn't the best thing to say, but it was pretty true. Anyway, it gave him something to think about that was for sure. "You are alright now though aren't you?" he asked quietly. He certainly didn't want Lex to still be sick and miserable. Sky knew he couldn't be going through treatments or anything due to the fact that he had hair, but still there was the possibility that he could get sick again. Which, honestly, was a bit frightening. He knew most stuff he did to himself would only scar at most, and sure he could seriously injure or kill himself, but when it came to that he took extra precautions. A disease like that you couldn't really take extra precautions to make sure it didn't come back. It just decided to sometimes.
Now though, they were in the bathroom and it was a bit cramped with both of them in there. With him and Oliver it hadn't been that bad, but both of them weren't that big, and mostly Oliver stayed in the doorway. With him and Lex they were trying to be in the same spots. Which ended up with Lex sitting on the edge of the tub next to Sky's ankle and Sky sitting on the toilet. It wasn't too bad at least. It could be worse after all. Both of his roommates could be here, or they both could have been more seriously injured. In which case they probably would have called an ambulance. Anyway though, Sky bandaged up the backs of his arms so he wouldn't bleed all over the place, and it seemed Lex was just going to watch. Not much he could help with anyway at the moment. Then, of course, Skylar had to take his shirt off and he blushed when he noticed that Lex was pretty much bright red and averting his eyes. That was a little unusual, but he was loopy and wasn't going to really question it. Though as he looked at the injuries he sighed. Well, what the hell was he supposed to do about that? It hurt like hell, and he was pretty sure washing it off wouldn't feel too great. He was going to do it anyway, but he should at least prepare himself for it. Lex was having a much easier time washing himself off, but that was probably because his arms didn't hurt. Skylar's definitely did now that he realized the cuts were there and the shock had worn off. Seemed it wasn't just because his nerves were shot after all. Though he was pretty sure that they still were, but that wasn't the point. He wasn't going to question it seeing as he knew it probably should hurt more than it did and was kind of glad his nerves were messed up in some way.
Then Lex seemed to be helping by taking Sky's arm and washing the blood off. He just blinked at him. Sure he could have done that himself, but he couldn't get up to get the wash cloth. Also it was a little embarrassing to ask for something. Seeing as it was kinda awkward and quiet in here and he didn't want to ruin that. Seemed he finished with one arm and then switched to the other, and Sky just let him. What was he going to do? Protest? He doubted that would go over really well and so he just let it happen and watched as the blood was wiped from his skin. Though he still had a bit of copier toner on his face, he was glad that at least he wouldn't be completely covered in blood anymore. There was the issue of his side being a bit bloodied though. He was still working up the courage to go after that though so he would continue to let Lex get the blood off of him. What he wasn't expecting was that Lex would look up at him. He wondered why, but it didn't take him long to figure it out seeing as Lex was leaning in and kissed him. That, was certainly a surprise and his eyes widened as his face turned bright red. Now that he really couldn't help, and who could blame him? Typically people don't randomly kiss you. He saw the look on Lex's face and wondered if he even realized what he had done. Well, obviously he did now, and still he hadn't said anything about it. This situation became a lot more awkward though and Lex still had a hold of his arm. Sky looked down at the water in the tub blushing quite a bit. "L-lex?.....Do you r-really like me?" he asked shyly. Which was pretty obvious considering he was stuttering more than just usual embarrassment. "If so....can I ask why?" he asked looking up at him. Sky wanted a reason, and if it was a bad one then he wouldn't have to think about it as much rather than if he really did like him. In which case at the moment he was definitely questioning his own sexuality. Being that he did actually rather like the kiss. Which really wasn't he straight? Then again he had been blushing at the comments Lex made, which normally he was pretty sure straight guys didn't care either way. Would just roll their eyes or something. He really was curious to hear the boy's answer though seeing as it definitely would change their relationship depending on what was said.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downThis was a difficult situation. A painful one, at that. It was one of the last things in the world Lex would want to do. Right behind licking a football player’s cleat and paint balling his room. But that was what this whole day was made up of. Awkward and difficult situations. Lex didn’t like talking about his illnesses. It made him feel frail and helpless. And that wasn’t a good feeling. He didn’t know what to tell the inventor. He supposed that he could tell him about the nose bleeds and the exhaustion. But he figured that it would only push them apart. Who wants to get to know someone who could die? It wasn’t the best of circumstances. To get to know someone, then have them leave you forever? No one wanted that kind of hole left behind. Lex knew about the issues that Skylar had had in his past life. Diabetes, a chronic disorder that wasn’t curable. They had that feeling in common. The feeling of loss. The loss of health, of personality, of security, whatever it was, they shared it.
“I dunno,” Lex replied quietly to the genius’ question. It wasn’t a good question at all, but he felt the need to find an answer, for himself more than the inventor in his arms. “I feel…Like I did back then.”
His eyebrows furrowed and he smiled curiously. It was a strange smile that pulled at his features as he wondered about his own fate. It was a part hopeful, and a part serene, part regret and part devastation. He could say with certainty that it was the strangest and most confusing smile he had ever had on his face.
“I don’t think I am. But I guess we will find out today.”
He grinned happily as he could, resigned to the fact that they would have is health records and would possibly test him. Stress caused more of his nose-bleeds to occur, and having a leukemia patient start fountaining blood from both nostrils would set off a couple red alerts, he was sure.
“Hold my hand when I get chemo?” He joked softly, and he looked at the inventor in a calm, rather serene way. To tell you the truth, he knew how this worked. He knew how the book ended. There wasn’t going to be an easy time in this fairytale.
Then they were in the bathroom. Skylar didn’t protest when Lex helped him. He was glad, because he knew that if the inventor had said something, he would’ve freaked, dropped the washcloth, and ran from the room. After he realized what he was doing, he realized how it looked. It was a rather intimate thing to do. And if it had been anyone else, in any other situation, they would’ve pulled away and been embarrassed and offended. But the poor other boy looked tired, and dizzy and grateful.
And then, the damn kiss. The thing that changed everything from that point on. There was no hiding it anymore. Sky was sitting in front of him, flushed, and shirtless and adorable, and all Lex could think of was sinking into the floor and dying. This was going to be another difficult conversation. He was still holding the inventor’s arm. But he didn’t feel like letting go. Not at this moment, anyways.
The boy was shy. He was stuttering, which was a good sign. Wasn’t it? He wasn’t screaming, or throwing Lex off, or slapping him or anything. It was like he was nervous. But then again, so was Lex. The young former conqueror looked at his feet, and unconsciously rubbed Sky’s forearm with his thumb. This was a difficult question to answer.
“Yea,” he rumbled lowly, deep in his chest. “Yea, I think I do.”
And there. It was out. He is bi-sexual. Or at least, Sky knew that he liked the poor inventor. Lex had no idea how the inventor felt about him now, but he decided that he would try and discuss what was running through his mind. It wasn’t an easy thing to follow, and he feared that he would turn into a rambling pile of mush. That wasn’t helped by the fact that the young genius was looking up at him shyly.
“You are so smart,” Lex started gruffly. He felt rather like a romantic lead in a movie or play. “You are passionate about what you do. You are clever. You know me. And you are beautiful.”
He couldn’t help it. He leaned forward and brushed his lips on the inventor’s again. Then he leaned back as far as he could away from Sky and cleared his throat.
“I’m sorry,” he muttered. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
But part of him now wondered about the inventor. He blushed when Lex said something that wasn’t really…straight. He wasn’t one of those guys who would laugh and joke it off if Lex accidentally started flirting. He was different in that way. And that gave Lex hope. A hope that he didn’t really want to have. He knew that having any kind of hope for a situation like this, with a straight guy, could only lead to heart ache. And he didn’t want anymore of that.
“How do you feel about me?” He asked carefully, slowly, apprehensively. He was scared about the answer. words;; 890 tag;; sky/cal status;; complete notes;; these two will have a better relationship than i ever had....sigh wearing;; CLICKlyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

Couldn't take all this anymoreWhat would you do, do, do? Sky honestly didn't want to have to deal with this situation at all, but he knew he had to. What choice did he really have in the matter? This entire day was just becoming awkward so might as well pile it on. Besides, he was the one that asked about the hospital so might as well deal with being told. Not something he wanted to hear that was for sure. That the person he probably considered closest to him could possibly die. Yeah, not one of the better things to hear. Nothing that could be done about that though. He certainly wasn't going to just stop being friends with him because of it. Even for him that was a jerk move. We're going with even for him because sometimes he would admit that he could be a real ass. It just depended on the subject. This though, was not something he would be an ass about. He'd be as supportive and helpful as he could. Which made him ask the question that he knew was going to either have a good answer or a really bad one. Hearing the answer though Sky looked at him. He didn't know? Well, that wasn't promising that was for sure. He stated that he felt like he did back then. "You....should probably find out." he said quietly. It was pretty obvious seeing as the earlier it was caught the higher the chance of survival. Still wasn't great chances, but there was one at least if it was caught early. Skylar was frowning a bit seeing as he found nothing to smile about in this situation, and the smile on Lex's face was obviously him trying too hard to seem fine with it. Hearing the statment he let out a sigh. "I guess so...." he said staring at the boy's shoulder rather than looking at his face. The next question he gave a rather weak smile. "If they let me, sure." he said quietly. Honestly he wasn't sure if he would be allowed anywhere near the room, but he'd wait for him outside of the room if he wasn't allowed in. Sky said he would be there, and he would keep to that. It was the least he could do for a friend after all.
He wasn't going to protest because he was pretty much loopy and didn't feel the fight was worth it. Figured he'd probably end up dropping the stupid cloth or something anyway. Which really, he probably shouldn't drive to the hospital. That may just end up being hazardous to their health. Maybe Lex could drive them though. He thought the younger male had his license so it shouldn't matter if he took his car or something since he felt like hell at the moment. He may very well even need a blood transfusion or something at this point. If they wanted to give him one he certainly wouldn't argue that's for sure. Though his train of thought died there when Lex kissed him. Seeing as it was a bit of a thought derailing thing. Especially when you weren't expecting it in the slightest, which obviously he hadn't been. Which was obvious by the fact that he was blushing quite a bit and couldn't talk correctly. He half expected Lex to laugh at him for that for whatever reason. He noted that Lex was still holding onto his arm, but that wasn't that important, neither was the fact that Lex was rubbing his thumb over his arm. It didn't feel bad after all, but he wasn't sure if it was good either. Honestly he was just really damn confused at the moment. Who could blame him though? He had just been kissed by a guy, who was his friend, and he had thought he was straight. Sure he had a feeling that Lex might not of been being that he flirted constantly, but still the way he reacted hinted to him not being entirely straight either. Though did he like Lex? Honestly he didn't know and should probably figure that out. Might be smart to do, though he should wait for Lex's answer first. Seeing as it was a bit important to the current situation.
Then Sky heard the answer and, if it was possible, he flushed more. Lex thought he liked him? Well, this just got a lot more awkward. Sure he had thought why not make it as awkward as possible before, but he didn't think it could get quite this awkward. Then the former conqueror was rambling about how he was smart and passionate and clever. Which just made him blush more. He had to look down at his lap to try and keep some embarassment hidden. Then of course Lex kissed him again and his train of thought died...again. That needed to stop happening. As quick as the kiss started though it had ended and really his brain just wasn't functioning anymore. Seemed Lex was sitting further away from him now. He couldn't blame him though, after all even he didn't know how he was going to react at this point. Of course though Lex had to go and ask how he felt about him. He should have expected that question honestly seeing as it was pretty average during this type of thing he assumed. "H-honestly?.......I haven't a clue." he said with a sigh while he continued to blush. "I....t-think I like you..." he whispered so it was barely audible. It was hard to tell though being that every time Lex had kissed him it was so short he didn't know how to react to it if he did at all. One way to fix that though he supposed and he doubted the other boy would complain. If he did then Sky would smack him at this point for being a jerk. "One way to find out I suppose." he muttered to himself mostly. He then pulled his ankle off the tub, leaned over and kissed Lex. Just to see what would happen. Besides, he couldn't possibly make things worse at this point could he? Which, as expected he forgot what he had been pondering about again. Did that mean he liked Lex? Honestly he was too distracted to even think about that right at the moment. After a few seconds he pulled back flushed bright red and sat back. "I'm going with yeah...I do like you. I'm also going with you're going to drive my car...because I think if I try I'll just end up passing out." he said blushing and running a hand through his hair a bit awkwardly. Well, now all he had to do was wait for Lex's reaction to this. He wondered if this was how he had felt waiting for a reaction from Skylar. It was a little nerve wracking after all.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downNow Lex was rather frightened. He knew that the visit to the hospital would be filled with more than just bandages and stitches. This could be the trip that began the ending of his life. Or the saving of it. He supposed that the sooner that he found out what the issue was, he could take care of it sooner. But this meant going back to being hairless, and throwing up constantly. This meant losing weight, and he may not even be able to stay on the basketball team. Call him shallow, but he didn’t want this for himself. He wanted to be handsome, and strong, and be with the guy that he was crushing horribly on.
Lex’s wallet was in his pocket, with his license in hand, if the need for him to drive ever became apparent. It was a nerve-wracking thought, and as he sat on the edge of the tub and felt his butt fall asleep, he thought of whipping up some food to feed the dizzy inventor. With the amount of blood that the older boy had lost, the idea of him driving a high powered vehicle that could end up killing or injuring others was a really scary one.
Even though the other boy agreed that he should get himself tested, and that he would be there to hold his hand if the hospital allowed him, Lex wasn’t happy with the idea of pulling Skylar into his problems. So that is why, when they were in the bathroom, and just after he had kissed the poor inventor the first time, and told him his feelings, he frowned. “I dunno if I’m good for you though. No one wants to be with a sick person.”
It was one of his greatest fears, to be abandoned by this tall, smart, and awkward genius. Well, maybe not specifically him, but anyone. And now that he was close to this boy, he was fearing abandonment from him most of all. It was bad enough that his parents feared his power, his sense of ruling. But this kid, this crush, knew the real him, understood that his past life was a part of him that he couldn’t get rid of, and accepted it.
Sky’s arm in his hands felt very soft, and delicate. But Lex could feel the muscle from hours of carrying equipment and tools. It was a rather good feeling, and he held onto it again. When Lex kissed him the second time, he could feel the tingle in his bones, up his spine. It was if they were in some…romantic place, instead of a cramped bathroom in the dorms of their high school.
And then, the way that the young genius told him his feelings. Lex felt a mix of amusement at the inherent adorable-ness of the inventor, and a sense of anxious impatience. How could the smartest guy Lex knew not know how he felt? It was a strange concept to comprehend, and once he tried, he heard Skylar whisper that he might like him. Lex’s skin warmed several degrees until he felt rather like he was on fire. This may or may not have been the happiest moment in his life. It just depended on what “think” meant.
Then the young genius did something that he never saw coming. He pulled his ankle off of the tub, leaned forward, and kissed him. Lex was dumbfounded. This was a real kiss, not like those quick pecks of spontaneity that he had bestowed upon Sky. Lex could feel how soft the inventor’s lips were, and he couldn’t feel much else. It was almost too much for him to bear. This was the first time that he had kissed another boy, and now he was sure it was the last, because now he was dying of pleasure and happiness.
After he pulled away, Lex could see that Skylar was red, and a little disheveled. He looked gorgeous, and Lex couldn’t help but stare. He was struck dumb. Speachless. For the first time in his life, there was nothing in his witty repertoire that would save him from looking like a complete fool. So he just sat there, shirtless, mouth slightly open, as he stared at the boy who was declaring that he liked him. Yep, he was definitely dying, because no one would play this cruel of a joke on him.
“Uh,” he grunted in response, eyes drooping dumbly. “I…uh…yea.”
Realizing he sounded like he was high on something, but not wishing to scare the inventor by laughing at his own stupidity, Lex cleared his throat and nodded. This was no time for being a mute.
“I guess I can drive,” he muttered, still staring in amazement at the flushed older boy. He hoped that he would have a bit more time to gain a little sanity before that he was stuck behind the wheel of a car. “If you stop knocking the breath right outta me.” words;; 829 tag;; sky/cal status;; complete notes;; poor poor lex....skylar is dazzling him.... wearing;; CLICK lyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

Couldn't take all this anymoreWhat would you do, do, do? This would certainly be an eventful trip to the hospital. He doubted he would be conscious for long once he got there if he even made it that long. Honestly he should probably eat something sugary like any average blood donor did, but he hated sugary snacks which included soda and sweets. In his last life he couldn't eat them much, and in this one he convinced himself he hated them so as to not be tempted by them. Seeing as he definitely had a fear of how he died last time. Could you blame him though? It was kind of a traumatic experience, especially with how he remembered. Which certainly didn't make him like hospitals any more than he already did that was for sure. Nothing he could do about that though and instead would just avoid sugar if he could help it even if it would be beneficial for him to have some at the moment. Not like he kept it in the apartment anyway. He was pretty sure his roommates probably did. Especially considering Fox got the munchies when he was high. He wasn't going to mention that though. Instead he was fine with passing out for a bit of time. No big deal right? Not like he could get injured more if he simply passed out. Though he supposed if it was while he was walking he could possibly get more injured, he would worry about that when the situation came up though. So yeah, he definitely wouldn't drive to the hospital. It would be unintelligent for him to do so, and being that he was supposedly a genius he should probably do the smart thing. Which would be to either make Lex drive, or if he couldn't, call an ambulance. That would be a last resort though being that then everyone in the school would know in a matter of minutes. Could get complicated fast and he didn't exactly want everyone to know he had fallen down the stairs. That was rather embarrassing after all. So was the fact that Lex had been carrying him and the fact that he would be probably walking next to the stretcher that took him out. Seeing as Lex could walk just fine and he couldn't. Hell, he doubted he could even stand at the moment. It was amazing that he hadn't fallen into the bathtub or something yet. He wasn't going to jinx that though. Being that as funny as it would be, that would require a trip to Lex's room as well unless he wanted to be in the hospital with wet pants. Seeing as he doubted his would fit Lex. He supposed it was possible though seeing as he had a few that did stretch. He was going to just hope it didn't happen and become an issue though.
He heard Lex say he wasn't sure if he was good for him and sighed a bit. "Didn't stop me in the past." he noted simply. Which, it was definitely true being that his first wife died of a brain tumor. That was rather incurable and he stayed with her until she died. Sure he remarried, but that wasn't exactly the point at the moment. Everyone had to move on at some point. So he wouldn't be leaving Lex because of some illness, being that it would make him more of an ass than he was. Which, yeah sure he could be a jerk at times, but he wasn't that bad. Especially not to someone he considered to be his friend. Most people he considered acquaintances, but Lex was actually a friend. Thus he wouldn't be leaving him because he could possibly be sick. The second kiss shouldn't count as one either being that Sky still had no idea how he reacted to it. Was too quick being that it was just a peck. Which would be what prompted his idea of kissing him to see what happened. Probably not one of his better ideas, but he would make it work. Seeing as what would he do if he discovered he didn't like Lex? Then he just kissed him and probably screwed up their relationship to astronomical proportions. He was going to worry about that after though seeing as he had a feeling he wouldn't mind it one bit. Why the hell else would he blush so much if Lex was flirting with him. Though most of the time he didn't realize it until he was already embarrassed beyond reason. Thus he just leaned over and kissed him. At least Lex didn't react badly seeing as that could have happened as well. Though it was doubtful being that he had kissed Skylar twice now. Whether he really meant to or not was debatable, but he wasn't going to think about that. Seeing as he lost his train of thought when his lips pressed against Lex's. It may have just been an experiment, but it was a very decisive one that was for sure.
What he hadn't counted on though, was throwing Lex into a bit of shock. Seeing as now the boy was staring at him in what looked like amazement. Well, whoops? He hadn't meant that to happen, just wanted to see if he liked him. Though he should have guessed that Lex would have gotten some effect from the kiss too. That was pretty obvious, but he was loopy so he'd let himself slide a bit. Seemed that Lex had nothing intelligible to say either and Sky raised an eyebrow at him with a bit of a chuckle. Definitely shocked him with that one, and Sky was very pleased with himself for that. Why? Well, that was because it was amusing to be the one causing it for once instead of the one being in shock. After a few moments though it seemed to wear off and he was back to his usual self. The inventor heard him mutter that he guessed he could drive. "Good, because I can't and I don't want to call an ambulance." he said simply with a bit of a smile. Then he heard the next comment and of course he was blushing more again. There he went with shocking Sky again. Ah well, it was how the natural order was or something. Shaking his head a bit he took the wash cloth from Lex and started dabbing the blood from his burn. He winced quite a few times in pain, but he would deal with it. He'd done worse to himself after all. Once he finished with that he realized he would have to wrap it up again. Which was really difficult to do by yourself. He grabbed the gauze and glared at it a bit. "C-could you wrap my side up? I could do it if I wanted to put on burn cream, but I don't because of the cuts..." he explained blushing a bit. He didn't really like asking seeing as he didn't like not being able to do things on his own. Which was why he had wrapped up his own arms.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downThe bruises on his body were throbbing all over. Lex could feel every aching moment in sharp relief. Maybe it was because the situation before him was such a strange mix of happy and awkward. He remembered back to his past life. No romance had ever made him feel so giddy. He was as high as a kite, and wouldn’t be coming back down for a really long time. There was a rushing in his ears and in his heart. It was a crazy experience to feel so deeply and so wildly after a single afternoon. He chalked most of it up to the pain and the shock of his injuries. He could feel his forehead swelling painfully. And now he wondered why he didn’t notice that his kneecap was so jacked up. If he were to stand up, it would probably buckle under his weight. How in the hell did he manage to heft Skylar up the stairs and to the dorms?
He had no clue now, as he longed for some strong pain medication. His ribs were hot and swollen in the slightly humid air of the bathroom. The warmth made him feel like he was suffocating and he focused on breathing in through his nose and exhaling slowly. Then he focused on what the inventor sitting in front of him was saying. Listening was important when it involved the person that may become your boyfriend. He smirked when the older boy said that a person being sick never stopped him from being with them. That was an admirable thing. A naive and rather depressing thing. But he loved the sentiment all the same. It was good to think that if Lex had to go through another round of bull shit, that he would have someone like Skylar to help him, make him feel better.
“I’m glad,” he murmured. There weren’t really many words to describe the emotions he felt. This was a sad thing. But he was so happy. Did that make him mentally unstable? Probably. “I’m gonna need someone like you to help me stay human.”
Truthfully, he had forgotten about quite a few details of Skylar’s past life. But that was because Lex had been a complete douche bag in this one. He wasn’t very much interested in any of the RSOR members’ past lives unless they had something to do with his own. Now that he was deciding not to be a complete and utter asshole, he played with the idea of researching about Thomas Edison. Part of him didn’t want to do it, because he was afraid he would start judging Sky by Thomas. Sure, they were the same person essentially. But Sky could make different choices. He could change himself. And Lex didn’t want to overlook what he wanted by looking at the man he used to be.
But he knew about Thomas’ wife. He just would rather not think about her. That particular story was a sad one. It was his own selfishness that caused him to wish that he didn’t know what happened to her. He didn’t want to think about Skylar loving anyone else. It made him feel insecure, especially being that both of the people he loved in his last life were women. He wondered how the genius felt with all of this.
Then the poor boy held out the gauze and blushed in frustration. The thought of not being able to do things himself was a frustrating thing for Lex too. One of the many things the two boys had in common. So, trying to give as much dignity to the other boy as possible, he stood up. His previous thoughts were correct. The kneecap on his right leg buckled and he leaned to the left to keep from falling. Then he offered a large, tan hand to the sitting boy.
“Here,” he said, his voice no louder than a caress. “I can do it. Just…hold still, okay?”
As carefully as he could, he pulled the boy to his feet. All of the pale skin made it seem like the inventor was sickly, and Lex knew that he would have to do something to help the poor boy soon. It was unhealthy to go that long without eating after losing so much blood. But this wasn’t the time. Carefully, so as to not scare the older boy, he took both of Skylar’s hands and placed them on his shoulders. It pulled them slightly closer, and Lex blushed furiously. If only they weren’t injured…
“Hold onto me.”
He took the gauze in one hand and let his other caress the skin close to the burns. His fingers were barely a whisper on the smooth skin. The skin was soft, and when he felt the edges of the burn start, he stopped. Now he knew where to wrap. He wrapped his open arm around the boy and took the end of the gauze from the roll. They were hardly a few inches away. As softly as the sun on skin, he wrapped the boy’s burn. All the while, he was looking, more staring, into the older boy’s eyes.
“Are you okay?” he asked softly. He didn't want to hurt the other boy. That was the last thing he wanted. "Tell me how you feel. About everything. About us. Couldn't take all this anymoreWhat would you do, do, do? Sky was definitely concerned about the fact that he was feeling cold. He knew for a fact it wasn't cold in this room being that he had been in here a while and it didn't suddenly get cold in a slightly cramped bathroom. Especially if there was warm water running thus causing steam to go into the air. He was also pretty dizzy and was almost positive of the fact that it was caused by him loosing so much blood. Definitely wouldn't be driving. Hell, he might not even make it back to the car. Which meant that Lex may have to call an ambulance rather than drive them. Though if the boy really wanted to carry his dead weight back down the stairs into the car, drive to the hospital, and then carry him into the building then that was on him. Otherwise though there wasn't anything he could do at the moment. At most he may make it half way down the stairs, but at the moment he was doubting he would even be able to stand up. Besides, Lex was definitely not up to carrying him again. He was pretty sure of that. Especially with his ribs already hurting and the shock wearing off now. Though he was pretty sure he felt his injuries no more now than he did originally. Could pretty much ignore their existence, but he was more focused on the fact that the room was spinning a bit. Really he wanted to lay down and sleep for a while, but he definitely had to see a doctor and he knew better. If he went to sleep there was a chance he'd bleed out in his sleep, and also he doubted Lex would let him even if it required dragging him out of bed. Which was good being that he definitely didn't look good. Way too pale and clammy for it to be normal for him. Sure he was kind of pale usually, but that was due to him spending more time inside than outside. Still though, normally even he wasn't this pale. He was pretty sure nobody was naturally this color.
Him and Lex had been a conversation and he smiled slightly at the response. It wasn't much but he was slowly becoming less and less aware of his surroundings. "I'll do my best." he said. He sounded tired, but he was. It had been a long and rather interesting day. Some parts of it were just fine, and other parts were rather painful. Like the part that was continuing right now. Though he was able to ignore it for the most part. He would like some pain killers or something. Hell he'd be fine with going to the hospital and having them give him morphine even if it would make him act like an idiot. He'd already done that once today, not like it would make a difference now. Then of course he realized he couldn't wrap up his own burn. One, because he didn't have enough arms, and two because he couldn't actually see straight. It was a bit blurry and he was shaking a bit now. He did manage to take Lex's hand though and let him pull him to his feet despite the fact that he was really unsteady at the moment. It almost caused him to pass out then being that the room spun quickly before him, but he managed to stay awake by closing his eyes and concentrating. Not yet, just had to hold out for a little longer. Then both of his hands were placed on Lex's shoulders and he blushed a bit as well as blinked in a bit of confusion. Oh right he was wrapping up his burn and he supposed otherwise he'd be off balance and his arms would be in the way. So it was definitely good that he had done that. Despite the fact that it did bring them closer and made both of them blush quite a bit. Ah well, they would just have to deal with it for now seeing as they didn't have another option.
He heard Lex tell him to hold onto him and gave a slight nod in response. Sky could feel Lex's hands on his side and winced slightly once he hit the burn. Though moments later his burn was being wrapped up and it was a little better. It still certainly hurt due to being poked by the gauze, but that was a given. Better than having his shirt brush against it every time he moved. Lex was staring at him, and he really couldn't focus. Then he was asked a question and blinked at him. "Not really...." he said with a grimace. He felt like he was going to be sick. Then Lex asked him to tell him how he felt and he sighed a bit. It was a complicated question, and he didn't know how to answer it. "Everything is spinny, I feel cold and I doubt I would still be standing if you weren't in front of me." he noted simply with a frown. His eyes were drooping and his head was as well. Yeah, there was no way in hell he was making it out of this room even. "Us? I can't even concentrate right now Lex. Ask me later." he said sounding slightly out of breath. His heart rate had picked up and he was breathing harder now. There was one last question he had to answer wasn't there? He looked back up at Lex and the room did a cartwheel and then tilted sideways as Skylar closed his eyes and passed out. Well this left him with either hitting the floor or Lex catching him. Either way he wasn't going to feel it but he did hope that he didn't injure himself or Lex further by passing out. That also left Lex to call an ambulance and explain what happened. Whoops, that wasn't nice of him to leave that with the younger boy, but he couldn't stay awake any longer. Really it was amazing he had made it this long. Especially considering his arms were starting to bleed through the bandages now. Poor Lex, that left him with quite a predicament. He probably didn't even know if Sky was alright.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downThe pale skin beneath Lex’s rough hands was paler now. And so very cold. It may have just been the difference in their normal body temperatures, but he highly doubted that it was the only thing that was making Skylar seem so clammy and cold. This really wasn’t good. And he knew that if he didn’t get him to the hospital soon, Sky would be in a lot of trouble. The poor genius was shaking heavily, and Lex had to hold the boy up and wrap him at the same time.
“Not really,” the woozy inventor had said, and now Lex’s eyebrows were furrowed in deep concern. This was really bad. He tied off the gauze, but kept his arms on the sagging boy. Lex was sure it was the only way to keep the other boy from falling over.
“That is really not good.” Lex muttered, and pulled the icy body against his own. Skylar was freezing, and Lex almost didn’t register his blush at feeling the inventor’s body against his own. It was so cold that Lex cursed a bit and bit his lip. The coolness felt good on his ribs, but it was unnatural for a person to feel that cold. It was like death, and Lex felt his heart drop into his ass. “Spinney, huh? It is okay, man. Just hold onto me and you will be fine.”
Lex was deeply horrified by the way that Skylar’s voice was so soft. He was slurring, and his eyes and head were drooping like he was hung over. Lex pulled the boy closer to him and inhaled deeply. If he weren’t trying to hold the boy up, he would pull out his phone and call for an ambulance. There was no way that Lex would be able to drive them to a hospital quick enough for Skylar to still be conscious when they got there.
“It’s okay,” Lex breathed. “We will have a really long time to talk about us.”
And then the boy fainted. Lex was unprepared to hold the bulk of the boy’s weight, and he had to bend his knees and catch the falling genius. It was a stretch to stand up again, and Lex groaned heavily with the exertion.
“Shit,” Lex muttered, and sat down heavily on the toilet, pulling the inventor onto his lap. “Phone.”
He maneuvered fitfully to grab his phone out of his back pocket, and swore again when the reaching jostled his ribs. He pressed those three little numbers, and waited as the phone rang. The voice on the other end was unsurprised when he told her that Skylar Ingot had fallen down the stairs and busted up his side. She was calm, and told him that an ambulance would be there to take Sky to the hospital and make sure he was okay.
Lex was scared. He grabbed a shirt, still holding the genius in his arms. He had no idea whose it was, hopefully Skylar’s, but he put it on himself, to hide his busted up side, and sat there to wait. In less than five minutes, a rather impressive time, Lex must admit, a group of EMT’s stormed through the door and took the genius from Lex’s arms.
The loss was amazing. Lex almost wanted to cry, and a soft whimper escaped his lips. The men were kind to him, asking if he wanted to ride along in the ambulance, but Lex denied, hoping to avoid the mass gossip that would occur if he were to follow them into the rest of the school and into an ambulance. Instead, he promised to meet them their soon after, and the EMTs promised to tell the doctors that he was coming.
Then, they were gone. The room was quiet, and Lex looked at the dead space with a severe sense of longing and loss. He missed Skylar, and he wanted to know what was going to happen to the poor genius.
It was in that instant that Lex sprinted down the hall and down a flight of stairs to his room. He grabbed a shirt, and his bike keys. He would follow the ambulance to the hospital. He would get himself checked out, get his ribs bound up, and be there to be the first thing that Skylar saw when he woke up. words;; 724 tag;; sky/cal status;; complete notes;; wish i had more muse for this final post....alas wearing;; CLICKlyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0
