Aiden rarely had much to do after school. He usually went up to the attic whenever he had the chance, but it wasn’t like he could do that that day. Not with Hanston’s keys having gone missing -or stolen, as he’d heard. He didn’t feel like going back to his dorm just yet, either. He was almost positive that his roommates were off doing something; and being alone up there wasn’t all that fun, even though the only thing he really had in common with Fox and Skylar was the fact that they were all RSOR. He might not be much of a people person, unless he was familiar enough with them, but his roommates could have hilarious moments sometimes…
… except for Skylar’s stair-falling. That had to hurt a lot.
So that left him with one option and that was… doing what he did best, and jot down ideas on his notebook, which was one of his favorite hobbies. He could never get too tired of that.
So as soon as his last class - History - came to an end, Aiden shoved his books into his backpack and walked outside, heading to the grounds. He could have gone to the library; but he wasn’t really in the mood. As much as he liked a quiet place, the library could sometimes get too quiet. The RSOR HQ was obviously off limits for now - he really hoped the key business was solved soon - his dorm was probably lonely, and he wasn’t really in the mood for heading to the entrance hall… it was a bit spooky. Plus, he needed a bit of fresh air, and the view could possibly inspire him. The grounds were his obvious choice.
He sat under a tree, reading through previous pages of his black notebook, looking for something that needed editing and mentally putting his projects in order. He had so many that he wasn’t entirely sure of where to start; and while the sudden inspiration to write was a good thing; he’d grown to hate the fact that he couldn’t start writing them down, because he wasn’t sure of how to develop them. He knew the fact he was probably pressing himself a little bit too much wasn’t much help… people tended to point it out, and he’d even read it in Wikipedia . But he was trying to change that habit - that was a good thing, no? It had to be. He’d started to see some slow progress, but that was something. He was pleased with the improvements, no matter how little they were.
Better than nothing, he guessed.
Thus instead of tearing his brain apart for ideas, he sat down calmly, with a pair of headphones on and listening to random Beatles music, tapping a pencil into his left knee while reading some old notes he’d made for another fantasy novel. Shrugging lightly, he flipped a few pages until he found a blank one and started writing down a few ideas for the universe he wanted to set it in. Starting with the creation of a fictional universe could be a complicated task, especially if you were already an expert in another. But that was okay; practice always made perfect. He was so focused in his work that in a few minutes, he’d already detached himself from everything else.
