So Chess had been asked out by a girl and for once she actually agreed to go. The girl was cute after all and seemed nice enough. Thus they agreed to meet outside a restaurant on Main Street. Seeing as it was a rather nice day Chess decided to wear a skirt instead of pants, and besides it was a date after all so she did want to look nice. Jeans and a t-shirt wouldn't do for a first date after all. So she went with a simple black skirt and a black long sleeve shirt. It wasn't that warm after all. Just warm enough to not have to wear long pants. Anyway, she had gotten ready and decided to walk to the location they were supposed to meet. It was a bit windy out, but she didn't mind the breeze. Though she had a feeling the good weather wasn't going to last too long being that there were a few clouds rolling in. That was a slight disappointment seeing as she would end up soaked going home if it did start raining. Though she supposed she could always call someone to come pick her up. She didn't mind walking in the rain, but she did mind getting yelled at about the fact she was going to catch a cold or something for it. So sometimes it wasn't even worth going for a walk in it seeing as she would simply get a lecture about it later. She did suppose she could always just ignore it, or go find someone else to hang out with until she dried off, or hell maybe she could continue to hang out with her date even after the date was technically over. That would be nice, but she wasn't going to get her hopes up on that one. So Chess found a seat on a bench and waited for her date to arrive. The reincarnate was a little early after all seeing as she definitely didn't want to be late. Thus the girl pulled a set of headphones out of her pocket and hooked one onto her ear and played a bit of music off of her phone while she waited.
After a bit, Chess checked her phone and noted that her date was late, well that wasn't a big deal. It was entirely possible that she had just gotten held up by something and would be here shortly. No need to think she had been stood up yet. With a sigh Chess played with one of the bouncy curls in her hair. Errol had convinced her to wear her hair like that more often and thus she had it curled right now. It was just pushed back a bit by a headband while her bangs remained straight seeing as she was convinced they would look very strange if they were also curled. Though really she didn't know what to do about Errol. She had a hunch that he very much liked her, but she wasn't sure how she felt about him. After all she did prefer girls and all. Which was proved by the fact she was going on a date with one, or supposed to be, and had a bit of a crush on Isa for a while. She was mostly over that though seeing as obviously the other girl definitely didn't feel the same way. Still though she had no idea what to do about Errol, but maybe if this date went well she wouldn't have to worry about it too much. After all he would just get over her eventually wouldn't he? Well, she figured he would probably. Most people do get over crushes eventually after all, she certainly did.
Anyway though her date was rather late at this point and Chess was loosing hope of the girl showing up. She looked up at the sky and noted a few dark clouds were overhead and that it looked like it was going to rain any minute. She should probably start heading home soon then so as to not get caught in it, but she would wait another five minutes just in case. She checked her phone again to make sure she didn't have any missed calls or messages that would explain why the girl was late or not showing up. Seemed she had neither so either this girl had somehow forgotten about their plans or was just never planning on showing up. It happened sometimes she supposed, but this was definitely a first for her. So thus she was a bit upset about it, which she was guessing was normal. It wasn't exactly a nice feeling knowing you were either forgotten about or not worth even a message of explanation. Well, now what? She supposed she could just go home and sulk about it. Or she could find something else to entertain her. Maybe text someone, though she doubted she would hang out with anyone else she didn't really feel that great at the moment.

Errol was being a retard, and he knew it. What sort of guy stalked a girl that didn't like him? Well, creepers, but he wasn't a creeper...except he was stalking a pal of his, who he had begun to like. Just great. He knew he was being stupid and yet he hardly gave a damn. He wanted to find a way to make Chess like him. In some ways, he had a lot going for him. He'd like to think he was handsome, and he had great skill in music. The stoner dude down the road hadn't been composing since before he'd gotten into third grade, hadn't been conducting his whole life, going head-to-head and holding his own against pros in their fifties while being under twenty (and before, while being under ten), and he was no coward. Then again, he knew he wasn't the nicest personality. And what f the stoner dude down the road wasn't who the girl was going out with, but his sister? Well then, you were probably screwed. And Errol knew it. But Chess was bi, wasn't she? Wasn't there still a tiny chance, even if she preferred girls? Maybe? MAYBE? He was pathetic. He knew it. But still...wasn't there? Somehow?
And that was what the brown-haired junior was doing on main street. He was lurking around, watching Chess from across the street. Her hair, in pink curls, was easy to keep an eye on with a dreary spring background. Wasn't spring supposed to be full of life? But now it was as though the color had been bled out of it. The color-color, anyhow. Errol's world was still full of colors and sounds. The high heels of some lady walking past left bluish dots, sound of a kid laughing a series of multicolored bubbles, and the damn cars? Odd, zigzaggy lines in yellow, orange and vermilion, coupled with a strange, whirring sound, like a fan. He didn't like most car sounds much, but he'd learned to tune them out.
Errol waited from his vantagepoint around the corner of an art gallery, obscured by a white van (of all the vehicles out there, he knew the irony imbued in this one), waiting for Chess' date to arrive. He wanted to see who his friend was going out with, since it wasn't him after all. But it was beginning to seem like this girl wasn't going to show. In that case, maybe he could do something. Now granted, that would look overly convenient, that he show up. But he was beside and art gallery. He could say he'd been tasting the works and no one would think twice about it if they knew Errol at all. The boy in the brown overcoat and blue jeans could just say he'd been looking at the paintings for inspiration, and then saw her just standing there all alone, and being the good friend he was, walked over and said hello, and maybe if she wasn't busy they could go and do something. The trick was getting her onto a date and not a "just friends" thing.
A frown crossed Errol's features when he checked his watch, and realized Chess had now been standing there for quite some time. It seemed her date would be a no-show. This was his chance. A crown of people walked by the van, and he blended in among them and the tealish grey of the sound of theirs shoes, effectively disappearing among them. He crossed the street, humming to himself, and broke away from the crowd. He walked almost right past Chess, appearing lost in the track he was humming, then paused. "'Ello there, stranger." He said, turning his head to look back at her. She looked very nice tonight, albeit dressed in solid black. "You're dressed very darkly. What's up?" There. That was an unstalkerish start, he'd like to hope. Though granted, his unstalkerish words had started with him stalking her but...she didn't need to know that.

Chess honestly had no idea that Errol was stalking her. Sure she knew he liked her, but she didn't think he would go as far as stalking her to see who she was going out with. It was simple in her mind that she didn't like him and he would get over his crush eventually. Most people did get over their crushes once they were essentially turned down. Besides, she mostly liked girls and her friend Errol was very much aware of that. It was hard not to be when pretty much the entire school knew. Sure she was bi, but that didn't mean most guys had even the slightest chance. Sure every so often she would like a guy, but it wasn't that often of an occurence. Just one of those once in a blue moon things. It seemed though that the girl that she was planning on going out with wasn't going to show though. Which was definitely not a good day starter for Chess. She would much rather prefer her date to show, but then again who wouldn't rather their date show than stand them up? Unless it was that stupid Valentine's day thing in which you would prefer your date to stand you up so you didn't have to participate. Seeing as you didn't know who you were set up with and there were a few people in the school that would really suck to be set up with. Mainly the serial killers or someone you just found to be particularly annoying. Not everyone got along with everyone after all, and though she got along with most people there was still a chance she would have ended up with someone she hated. Turned out to be Hayden though so it wasn't a big deal.
So yeah, this was not a good day so far seeing as it was pretty obvious that her date wasn't going to show up or even leave a message to give another time because something came up. Well, now what was she supposed to do? Certainly couldn't sit here looking a bit sad and hope something happened. That was going to do her no good after all. Would just make people wonder what the hell she was doing and stare at her awkwardly. She noted a crowd of people walking past, but didn't look up from where she was staring at the sidewalk. Until, that is she heard a familiar voice. What the hell was Errol doing here? Well, she did suppose he could walk around town whenever he wanted, but still it was odd that he showed up right as her date was not going to. She was going to brush it off as a coincidence though and looked up at him. "Oh, hey Errol." she said not exactly enthusiastic, but hey she had just been stood up for a date you couldn't really blame her for that. Hearing his next statement she simply shugged. "I was supposed to go on a date, and this is what looked the best, but it seems my date isn't showing." she said with a sigh. Maybe Errol would hang out with her for a bit. It wasn't that awkward even if he did have a crush on her. Just so long as he didn't try and kiss her again. Seeing as that would definitely make things awkward between them. She really wasn't sure what could be done about that either. Last time he had kissed her she pretty much had to let him get away with it due to being in shock and the fact that it was tradition so she didn't have much choice.
Well, now what was she supposed to do? Could either say she was just going home or could probably hang out with Errol for a bit and try and cheer up. "You up to anything today?" she asked simply with a poke at his stomach and a light smile. She would definitely try and cheer up and maybe hang out with Errol if he wasn't doing anything. Seeing as he did have to have a reason for being out here in the first place. Didn't make sense for him to be out here randomly and just chance running into her, but it was Errol so he could make something random into something productive. She wasn't sure either way, so might as well just ask and see what he said. Who knows, maybe he was willing to hang out with her if he didn't have other plans. At least until she had to go home that is, and besides this way she could still pretend like she had gone on the date and not have to explain what happened to her parents because they would try and fail at cheering her up. They didn't really understand her taste in partners, and would probably explain that a boy would not have stood her up, and she would have just rolled her eyes and walked away.

Errol did not give up on things without a fight. He was so used to getting what he wanted thanks to his skills, and now he might not just thanks to his gender? Nuh-uh. He wasn't surrendering that easily, that was for sure. Now, this decended into being creepy, but he didn't care very much. He wasn't giving up without at least figuring out who she was dating, so then he could figure out what traits - other than female, since he couldn't help that - exactly she liked and ...
Yeah, it was getting creepy, nothing more to say about that. Errol could deal, and so long as Chess didn't find out, all was good.
That being saind, his "entry" seemed flawless. Mr. Plunkett would be proud of it, he was most certain, if the drama teacher could be proud of the situation in any way. Chess didn't seem happy to see him, but she had just been stood up; it was undertsandable. The trick now was to make this whole thing go according to plan and not seem too conveinet, or even rigged! "Man, that sucks, Checkers." He said, playing on her name. Now, you might not think that is something you'd say to the girl you liked, but it made snese to Errol. If he played on her name it he always did, well, he'd seem less like he was there praying for the date to not show up or be hit by a meteor. It might also seem like he liked her les, which was okay for now. Things had been awkward after he kissed her at random, even if that could just be excused as Errol being Errol and kissing people whenever he could get away with it. He had, after all, done the same thing with Chelsea on Valentines; he had a record to aid him. The whole admitting he liked her bit would come a little bit later.
The major trick now would be getting her to go somewhere with him without seeming like he was here for one purpose, and one purpose only, but she solved that with a poke and a question. "I'm out and about for inspiration." He explained, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Searching for something to make music on. After Montreal, I got people interested and waiting on some more. Not that I don't have enough, but..hey, it's what I do." Considering inspirtation was everwhere for him, he was sure this excuse would fly. "I'm just wandering along, wherever the colors and sounds take me today." Errol looked around the mian street as green, almost corrogated sheets were the wake of a baby stroller for two. Come to think of that, he had a particular present for Sylent that he needed to give her. They worked like a charm on Carter, and sometimes Echo. He might want to give a copy to Natalia, just for the fun of it.
"Wanna come?" He asked after a pause. "Unless you wanna hang around here and look lost, or go hom I suppose. It does look like it's due to rain, after all." Errol hoped she wouldn't go, and he hoped that if the Gods were feeling nice, maybe she'd stay out. All dressed up to go home? C'mon, she may as well hang out with him...right?

So there were some things that weren't going right in her world today, but it seemed that she wouldn't be without something to do at least. Seeing as apparently Errol had showed up. That was a bit convenient, but she wouldn't put it past him to wander around randomly. She also wouldn't put it past him to follow her. Which he was doing though she couldn't be sure, and honestly she didn't care right now. Had a bit more on her mind at the moment being that she had just been stood up for a date and she was kind of unhappy about it. Which, she had every reason to be, thus she would be pondering about why she was stood up rather than why Errol was here. Though it was entirely possible that Errol had something to do with it. She wasn't sure he would go that far though being that it was a bit over the top for him. Though, really you could never tell, but there would be some indication maybe? Anyway, that wasn't the point. The point was that she was dressed up and had nothing to do. Also, that it was probably going to rain soon. That would just add to today being not so great. Though she did rather enjoy storms. Hey, maybe she would end up walking in the rain or something. That wouldn't be too bad after all. Though she might be yelled at for being soaked when she came back. Ah well, didn't matter to her seeing as she was going to do it anyway if she ended up in the rain. Besides, she could always hang out somewhere until she dried or something. No big deal. She could just spend the whole rest of the day out and about. Though she wasn't sure she felt up to it really. She supposed she could attempt to do so though. Just to see how it went. No harm in trying after all.
Hearing him call her checkers again she gave a slight glare and pouted at him. She was already upset and here he was making fun of her. That was rather mean of him. If he did it again she would kick him and walk away. Seeing as if he was just going to irritate her when she was already upset he wasn't worth hanging out with. Then he would lose his chance at getting her at all and it would be his own dumb fault. Though she wasn't entirely set on even giving him one to begin with. Seeing as honestly she wasn't sure she even liked him like that. Typically she pretty much liked girls. Sure every so often she liked a boy, but mostly it was girls. The junior didn't think she liked him in that way, but they definitely got along pretty well most of the time. He just irritated her a bit when he switched her name. That was about it though being that she knew he was worse to a lot of people. Just picked on them mercilessly, and she wasn't sure why he didn't do so to her. Maybe it was because they were both artists in a sense. Or maybe it was simply because he liked her. Either way she definitely didn't mind the fact that she wasn't being picked on. Though she wasn't a fan of him doing so to her friends and thus when he did it to her or her friends she swatted him with a sketchbook. He didn't seem to like that much because it made him taste beans, and so it was the only thing she could do to him. Besides, they had some fun times in art class, so she supposed he wasn't too bad most of the time.
Hearing him say he was out and about for inspiration she shrugged a bit. It made sense being that he did see colors when sounds were heard. She would think that would be really distracting, but obviously he was fine with it. "More classical music I take it?" she asked with a bit of a smile. It seemed that was what he liked to do. They definitely had different art styles, and different places they looked for inspiration that was for sure. "They took you here then apparently?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. Seemed like a rather odd place for colors and sounds to take him. Rather convenient it was where she was stood up for a date. Though she supposed it could be coincidental. Ah well, she was just going to let it go and see how the rest of today went. He asked her if she wanted to come, and then said unless she wanted to hang around there and look lost or go home. She pouted a bit slightly and rolled her eyes. "I suppose. Any chance you have any destination in mind?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. Maybe he did, but she doubted that. He wasn't known for planning things out completely after all. She sighed and flicked his nose. He did call her checkers again after all, and she was definitely not a fan of that.
