Look up, I look up at nightPlanets are moving at the speed of light So Chess had decided that she wanted to go to the amusement park. Why? Well that was simple being that she was an artist and rides were fun to take pictures of and draw. That, and the people around her were fun to draw of course. She really should get a job here doing air brush tattoos or portraits or even those photos people get when they enter the park. Maybe she would when she was old enough to get a job without working papers being that they were a pain. Her grades probably weren't exactly good enough that she would be able to get a job and have it not interfere with school. Well, actually it wouldn't interfere it would just look like it did being that she usually slacked off quite a bit anyway and would use the job as an excuse to slack off a little more. That was a bit reasonable now wasn't it? She thought so, but apparently nobody else did. It wasn't as if she didn't have the right qualifications for this job, though it was probably considered cheating that she was a reincarnated artist, but that never stopped her from using it to her advantage before.
So thus she'd made her way into the amusement park and found a few things to take a picture of before sitting herself on a bench and beginning to draw what was going on around her. She had to draw fast being that people walked past and didn't give her much time to sketch them out. So thus she started with them and did the backgrounds after. Every so often she would move and draw something else. It wasn't too busy today, but then again it was close to the end of the season and it was a weekday. Not many people came home from school and went to an amusement park. At night maybe but not right after school ended. Hey she wasn't exactly most people though and thus ended up here due to wanting to doodle. It wasn't exactly a hot day either and thus less people were around because apparently it was more fun to bake at an amusement park than it was to wear a sweater. She would never understand that but whatever she didn't have to. Wasn't her job to understand it and thus she would ignore it.
After drawing several pictures she decided she didn't feel like drawing anymore and pulled her camera out once more to wander around the park aimlessly taking pictures. Which, yeah, that got her some majorly odd looks, but she just glared back, stuck her tongue out at them, and went back to taking pictures. There weren't many interesting people here today which was a shame because she liked drawing interesting people. What she did find was a skateboarder though. He was interesting and thus she put her camera back away and found a spot in which she could doodle him. Maybe he'd notice her and maybe he wouldn't. Either way as long as he didn't make fun of her for it she didn't care. So thus she doodled a quick picture and sat in the sun on a bench with the pad in her lap. She needed caffeine before she got irritable and thus pulled out a bottle of soda to fix that. Sure she could always find coffee or something but that required getting up and she was feeling particularly lazy at the moment.
Then again she was pretty much always lazy so it was no real surprise that she was feeling it at the moment. Especially being that she was kinda tired and needed the energy boost she got from caffeinated beverages. Glancing around she noted that the boy she had doodled looked kinda familiar. She'd probably seen him around school at some point. Wouldn't surprise her if she had, it was even possible that he was in a few of her classes. Sure she was typically observant but if it was an early morning class then she definitely wasn't and instead went for the half dead appearance. Oh well, she was content with watching him skateboard. It was interesting enough and she kinda wanted to learn how to. Sure it was also dangerous, but what wasn't that was fun anymore? Certainly not most things. Alright so drawing wasn't particularly dangerous other than paper cuts, but everything had some sort of risk to it whether it be large or small just depended on what it was. Which was why she didn't go out for sports typically unless forced to in gym class. Seeing as last time she took a shot to the head she started speaking in ancient roman. Yeah that had been interesting to explain. Had to go with stating that it was just gibberish because her head was messed up at the moment and she didn't want to randomly start cursing. They'd bought it luckily but it had taken some glares and some getting up and falling back over from her.

Yeah, he had homework. Yes, he had an essay to write. Was he gonna do it? ...Maybe. Right now, though? School was just let out. Time to have some fun. His leather jacket and hoodie underneath kept him warm and his hands were shoved in his pockets as the wind got him in the face. He leaned forwards and backwards, weaving between people on his skateboard. The wheels clicked a bit as he rolled along. He stepped off and pushed himself to go faster with one foot as he saw a railing ahead. He took his hands out of his pockets and used his arms to balance as he bent his knees and lifted off the ground. The sound of metal meeting the skateboard rang in the air as Hayden grinded the rail. He bent his knees and lifted off the rail again. Grunting a bit with the landing, his skateboard's wheels smacked against the pavement and he was off and rolling around again.
He rolled up to a food stand and hopped off his skateboard, stomping on the end of it and catching it in one hand. He trotted up to the over-sized trolly and looked over their wares. After a moment's pause, Hayden slipped the creepy carnie five bucks and in return he got a giant cone of pink cotton candy. With a child-like grin, he dropped his skateboard and was on his way once more, happily eating cotton candy.
His lips were quite sticky and his cotton candy was half gone when he felt someone's eyes on him. Hayden turns his head in all possible directions, looking for whomever was looking at him. And then he found her. In a way...she resembled his sweet treat. He looked down at his cotton candy and then looked at her hair. Practically exact. ...Bitchin'!
But why was she looking at him? Was there something on his face? He put two and two together when he saw the note pad on her lap. She was drawing him? He couldn't help but smile. He was flattered. Perhaps he should give her something a little more epic to draw, though. In his book, what he was about to do wasn't showing off at all. It was merely...giving her more artistic options.
He threw away the now candy-less cotton candy cone and sped up. His blue eyes flicked back and forth, looking for something to do tricks on or more things to grind. He found and empty bench a few feet away from the girl and he bent his knees before lifting off and landing on the bench. The wheels made a dull sound as they rolled over the wood. As he approached the end of the bench, Hayden narrowed his eyes and bent his knees. Then, he jumped off, his skateboard flipping under him.
Now, ideally, he was supposed to land on it, keep rolling and being a bad ass doing a bunch of awesome tricks. Ideally. But, obviously, God had a sense of humor and that wouldn't be happening. He landed on his skate board...but not correctly. One moment the skateboard was under him, the next his head was cracking against the pavement as the skateboard flew out from under him.
If he was a cartoon character, his eyes would be X's and birdies would be flying around his head right now.
The tall seventeen year old laid sprawled on the ground as his head throbbed. A groan escaped his lips and a blush worked it's way onto his cheek. He felt stupid right now. Really stupid. The trick wasn't exactly supposed to go like that...
And a drawing of him falling onto his head wouldn't exactly be inspiring or the most exciting art piece...

Look up, I look up at nightPlanets are moving at the speed of light So Chess was having fun doodling the random people of the amusement park and thus entertaining herself. It was certainly more fun that homework. Then again homework wasn't fun so she should probably say it was more fun than something that was actually mildly amusing. Oh well, she wasn't going to nit pick herself because it just seemed like a bad idea. Then again you were always your own worst enemy when it came to such things. Anyway currently that wasn't really important now was it? Currently she should really be focusing on the people she was drawing due to the fact that they moved fast and soon enough she would loose them completely and thus her drawing would have to either go unfinished or be changed. Though it would probably never be colored because she didn't exactly have a photographic memory. Thus she went back to her sketches looking up more than she looked down. After all she'd gotten pretty good at drawing without looking a ton. Besides it was a pain to have to look down then look up all the time. Took longer too.
Seemed the skateboarder had gotten cotton candy that was apparently the color of her hair. She liked the color and as far as she knew it was actually called cotton candy pink. It was either that or bubble gum. She couldn't remember and thus would have to look later because it would bug her now that she couldn't remember. So thus she doodled him eating the cotton candy real quick before switching to another page. Though it appeared he might have noticed her being that he did look in her direction after looking at his cotton candy. Ah well, maybe he was comparing it to her hair. Was better than the odd looks she usually got being that she did have piercings and pink hair. Not exactly your most normal sight, and if she wasn't wearing a jacket then you'd be able to see her three tattoos as well. Which also weren't exactly typical being that they were pretty cutesy rather than being the average weird shit you normally saw. Wasn't a tramp stamp either because she thought those looked stupid. Thus she had gone for getting three on her upper arm. Still an odd choice there but she was an odd girl and thus didn't care. Anyway back to her doodles.
He seemed to be moving faster now though and she wondered what he was up to. Being that he was the most interesting being here she felt watching him was appropriate. Drawing boring things wasn't the most fun, and she was in an exciting mood so thus wanted to draw something interesting like skateboarding rather than drawing something like people wandering about aimlessly with their naughty children who were littering or whining about it being too cold. Seriously kids suck it up and be glad you got to go to the park at all. Though maybe that was a little mean, but since when did Chess care about being mean? That would be a definite never obviously. Back to the boy it seemed he had jumped up on a bench and she sketched a quick picture before wincing slightly when he crashed. Somehow she didn't think it was supposed to go quite like that. With a sigh she set her sketchbook in her bag before walking over and crouching down next to him. Well it wouldn't be quite nice to just sit there and watch him. Thus she poked him on the chest a few times being that she didn't think he'd be injured there. You alright? she asked. Sure it may seem like a dumb question but it didn't look like he was bleeding so it was possible he had just bumped his head or something.
So obviously that hadn't gone as planned and she wondered if that happened often for him. Though if it did he probably would be in a sling or on crutches even. Seeing as it didn't appear that was the case at the moment she wondered if it was only an occassional thing. Seemed he was blushing though and she blinked at him with a tilt of her head. Definitely wasn't supposed to happen then. Though she could have guessed that because if you were supposed to land on your head nobody would actually skateboard. Being that typically landing on your head was not good and got you sent to the emergency room if it was bad enough. Thus she'd see if he was alright at least being that as long as someone didn't pick on her she didn't mind them. ----------- words: 800 tag: Kracken!Tina and Hayden outfit: hoodie and jeans. note: rawr. lyrics: speed of sound - coldplay Climb up, up in the trees Every chance that you get is a chance you seize

now i'm heels over head i'm hanging upside down
What he really wanted to do was go up to this girl, hold his cotton candy right next to her hair and compare the colors to make sure everything was exact. He'd never seen hair so...bright before. It was awesome! He felt, though, that going up to her and comparing the color exactly would be a bit too weird...even for him. ...Okay well, maybe it wasn't that weird for him. For him, doing something like that was completely normal. But to the rest of civilization that was creepy...to the max.
He didn't think her hair was weird though as, no doubt, a bunch of old people in this park did. He liked it. It was unique. It made her stand out. In the best way, of course. Her piercings also made her different compared to every other boring face in this park. Hayden liked that, too. He was a big fan of 'different'. He also couldn't help but notice that her was was exceptionally beautiful compared to the other faces in this park...
Maybe that was why he wanted to show off; she was pretty. Isn't that the reason most guys show off anyway? To impress an attractive member of the opposite gender? To try to win over their approval? But, like most people who aim to impress, it was his downfall. Quite literally, too, as he came crashing down upon his noggin.
He almost wished he'd bust open his head and blood would be pooling around him. Yeah, that sounded dark. Kind of emo, really. But if that happened, he couldn't be mocked for his recent blunder. He'd be pitied. Then he'd be taken to a hospital. Then he'd be pampered. And maybe...just maybe, the person pampering him would a girl. A cute girl. Yeah, that'd be nice and he could wish for it all he wanted, but here was harsh reality: he didn't crack his head open. Except for dizziness and a throbbing headache, he didn't hurt himself. All he did, was look like a retard with two left feet. And Hayden didn't have two left feet. He was pretty graceful (by guy standards) and he was good dancer (by guy standards...).
This was not his ideal way of making first impressions.
He hadn't been good with first impressions lately, anyway. That Oliver kids seemed to like him. So Echo. But there was this one guy...Iskander. Iskander wanted to castrate Hayden, and he knew it. But his own defense, how the hell was he supposed to know Jennah was Iskander's girlfriend? They hadn't even been holding hands...or cuddling...or kissing.
Well, they were kissing...after Hayden brought it up. But anyway, now Iskander wanted to slam his fist into Hayden's face if they made eye contact when they passed in the hall. And Hayden was too scared to even look at Jennah...even if she sat next to him in science AND english class. Which was a bummer, because Jennah's a pretty girl...
But neither here nor there. This just wasn't Hayden's week.
For a moment, Hayden thought he hit his head harder than he expected. For a moment, he thought walking cotton candy was poking him in the chest and asking, "You alright?"
He was about to ask how the cotton candy grew legs and walked over to him, but he thought better of it. Clearly, his head wasn't that bad. He blinked a few times and realized that the girl who had been drawing him with the intense pink hair was crouching over him. She was even prettier up close. ...Great. He felt extra stupid.
Hayden sat up slowly, groaning a bit at the pounding in his head. As he moved, he realized his back hurt, too. He quietly muttered an explicit work before bringing his sore arm up to tenderly poke the top of his red-brown hair. He winced, squeezed his blue eyes shut and sucked his breath in through his teeth when he poked his head, bringing his hand back down to his side.
"I don't know..." He said slowly, reluctantly opening one eye. He carefully leaned his head towards her, "Am I bleeding everywhere? Are my brains oozing out of my head?"
He almost hoped they were so he could look less stupid.

Look up, I look up at nightPlanets are moving at the speed of light So Chess had no idea what to expect when she came here, but it certainly wasn't something like this. Then again who expects someone to fall on their head when they go out after school? You would have to be either psychic, a pessimist, or just plain odd to expect such things and thus when it did happen she really didn't have any idea what to do. It wasn't as if she was a doctor or nurse or anything like that. Not even in her past life, and so she was rather confused as to how to handle the entire situation. Though asking if he was alright or alive would probably be a good start and thus she had gone over and poked him in the chest until he responded. Hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time and thus that was what she was going to do. Besides, she wasn't just going to leave him laying there if he needed an ambulance or something. That was negligent homicide or something she was guessing. Couldn't remember, but it was on one of those crime drama shows she thought that she had watched a few times. Anyway it was probably good she asked if he was alright. Though it didn't seem like he was bleeding or anything unless it was just minor bleeding. Then she might not notice if he didn't move. Also, he could be unconscious and have like a massive concussion or something. In which case she'd just call an ambulance and say he fell on his head skateboarding without a helmet. Which brought up another thought, why wasn't he wearing one if he wasn't you know...perfect at the sport. Seemed like a pretty dumb idea to her. Then again what did she really know? It wasn't as if she had ever skateboarded or anything before, though if you were going to be doing difficult tricks a helmet was probably wise.
Seemed he was actually awake though being that he was blinking at her. Was probably just a tad confused, or didn't feel like getting up yet. Either way he was alive at least. Though she hadn't asked if he was alive and thus her question wasn't technically answered. She'd be patient though and wait for him to remember how to answer in case he hit his head harder than it looked. Which, at your own height it wasn't that far of a fall to the ground, now if he had been standing on the bench when he fell it might have been a little worse, but no he hit his skateboard before falling and thus it was a few less inches that could cause damage. She tucked her hair behind her ears and smiled lightly when he sat up. Hearing him muttering explicit words she raised an eyebrow slightly, but figured he could curse if he really wanted to being that he kinda just fell pretty hard. She watched as he poked the top of his head and winced. Well, that she could help with, just grab some ice and give him an advil of some sort. Which she obviously carried with her for if she got one of her caffeine withdrawal headaches that she got so often if she hadn't had any for the day.
As he leaned his head towards her she looked at his hair and noted that it didn't seem he even broke the skin. Which probably meant he would just have a lump and a bruise. At the comment of brains oozing out she giggled slightly. I'm not sure you'd be awake or alive if they were oozing out. I'm also not sure brains ooze exactly. You'll probably just have a lump. she said simply with a light shrug. Sure sometimes brains oozed in movies, but those were just movies and she wasn't sure they did quite the same thing in real life. Not something she particularly wanted to see either though, and thus she wouldn't be too curious to find out if that was correct or not. Though then she remembered that he had winced and dragged herself out of her random thoughts. I'll go get a cup of ice. she said simply before skipping off to the vendor and asking for one. She skipped back and handed it to him to put on his head. Hey, it was better than nothing and having a huge lump on the back of your head would definitely not be fun, and so might as well stop the swelling before it gets too bad. You want an advil? she asked him. Well if he didn't want one she wasn't going to get them out. That would just be pointless, and besides maybe he had a hard head and thus it didn't hurt that bad. Just stung initially and would go away in a moment. No point to taking medication for that, but if he did have a headache then the offer was out there that he could take some and feel less like hell. Which she imagined he would want being that he had groaned when he got up. Though she would wait for his answer first of course. Wasn't going to make him take asprin after all, especially if it turned out he was allergic to it or something like that which some people apparently were. She'd be in a hell of a lot of trouble if she was. Which was why she was very glad that she didn't have that certain allergy. Being that she would constantly be in an irritable mood thanks to a certain set of headaches. Though she'd probably be better off in the long run due to the fact she wouldn't take so much medication. Ah well, she'd live. ----------- words: 1000 tag: Kracken!Tina and Hayden outfit: hoodie and jeans. note: lyrics: speed of sound - coldplay Climb up, up in the trees Every chance that you get is a chance you seize
