Personality: Luka never exactly left high school. He hasn't matured much at all, and he still acts like one of the students. He is a nice enough guy, but he's kind of arrogant. He wants to be his students' friend and not their teacher. More than that, he's really flirtatious. It's not always intentional; he just sees it as being friendly, not as flirting, but the way he acts could possibly get him in trouble if the wrong person were to witness it. Of course, not one to consider the consequences, Luka will purposely make the occasional flirty comment to some of the older girls at the school.
Having always been very outgoing, Luka has always been popular amongst both his peers and his students. He loves to talk, and loves to tell stories. Some of his stories are events that actually happened, and others he just made up, but he will never tell which is which. He always says that not knowing if its true or not makes the story more interesting. His approach to teaching stems from this as well. Although history was always his favorite subject growing up, he knows that its not a favorite of most kids, so he's always looking for ways to make it more interesting for them.
Although loves the attention, he doesn't seek it out. His ego needs a boost every now and then, and it makes him feel good when someone makes the effort to get his attention. More than once, he's been described as “concieted,” but he doesn't think he is. He calls it confidence. He believes in himself, works hard, and feels like whatever he is given as a result of this is what he deserves. Also, Luka is really protective, especially of his younger sister. He's not a very confrontational person, but if you do anything to her or his brother, he will have something to say about it, and it probably won't end well.

In a different setting, and with a different person, Isabel would be very tempted to burst out laughing at the look on Fawcett's face. The other girl quite obviously knew Isa was only saying what she had to irritate her, but she still looked – well, Isa wasn't sure exactly what the word to describe Chris's facial expression would be, but she thought it was funny. Isabel hated Muggles, and everyone knew it, so she wasn't going to deny that. But she wasn't the kind of girl who enjoyed the barbaric act of torture that a certain group of people enjoyed. It was far too messy for Isa's tastes. ”If you think that was a confession, you're far less versed in sarcasm than I thought you were.” The girl's next words drew every bit of amusement away from her. Fawcett knew nothing about her family, and she had no right to assume that she did. ”I'm fairly sure our government frowns on locking people away when they've done nothing wrong, actually,” she replied icily. Her family held the same views that she herself did. The Muggles had no place in their world, but it was far easier to sit back and let those who were so inclined to do something about it.
An amused smirk covered Isabel's face at the other girl's words. If she thought Isa was going to be affected by being called a bitch, then this argument really wasn't on the level that Isa had originally thought. She had been called a bitch more times than she could even count, and it really hadn't even bothered her the first time. Now, she simply found it amusing. ”You'll have to try harder than that if you actually want to hurt my feelings,” she replied in a sickening sweet tone. The continuation of Fawcett's sentence just caused Isa to have to try very hard to resist rolling her eyes. Insulting her lifestyle wasn't going to get a rise out Isa. She knew all too well that the way her family lived was mostly only accepted by purebloods. She herself didn't believe in some of the things they did, but she went along with them the way she was expected to. It was too much to ask for someone as uncivilized as Christina Fawcett to understand the traditions and ways of a traditional pureblood family. ”Every word that comes out of your mouth simply proves just how unsophisticated you are.” Isabel was growing tired of the conversation. Everything the other girl said was just trying to get a rise out of her, but she apparently knew nothing about how to make Isa truly angry.
Although she was certainly trying. Granted, she was failing, but Isa couldn't deny that Chris was doing everything she could to try and cause Isa's temper to flare up. ”I suppose it depends on who the sixteen-year-old girl is, doesn't it? I mean, you after all, I seriously doubt you could do any damage – well, not without causing yourself even more harm. I, on the other hand, could make your life absolute hell.” It wasn't a threat; it was simply a fact. ”Not only your life, but your whole family's lives as well. Think about the consequences your actions could have.” Isabel knew that she personally didn't hold the power to ruin the other girl, but her family for sure did. It wouldn't be the first time they had used their influence in the world to right a wrong that had been done against a Greengrass. ”Well at least I know my family can support me. What can your family offer you in the way of protection from the world?” Even without knowing anything about Fawcett's family, she knew that their home lives were far different. Chris's family could offer her love and safety, but as far as protection went, they were basically defenseless. Isabel's ancestors had worked for their place in society, and so of course they were going to make use of what they could. Why shouldn't they?
Isabel was more than amused by Chris's next statement. Once again the girl was showing just how little she knew about Isa. ”Oh, I think if you ask around you'll find I don't have to lean on my family near as much as you're insinuating. It's just far less messier to allow them to handle situations the way they know how.” Isabel could take care of herself. You couldn't survive in Slytherin and not know how to some extent. In a House where everyone's family was just as influentials as your own, you had to rely on your own survival instincts to get you through. Otherwise, the rest of the House were likely to eat you alive. It was ironic, really, that everyone in Slytherin had families who could take care of them without a second thought, and yet they all had to learn to survive on their own if they wanted to make it through school.
It was the first time Isabel had been legitimately angry in a long time. In the back of her mind she realized that earlier she had wanted Christina to increase her involvement in the argument; that she had been bored. But now all she wanted was to end it. This girl had pushed her buttons too far. ”Out of the two of us, I'm sure I'll be the one who is actually happiest in my marriage. That is, if you are married.” She realized she was just basically realizing she had previously said, but what Chris had said was true. Isabel wouldn't be marrying for love. Her parents weren't concerned with love, they were concerned with keeping the family in as high a standard as they could. It was the traditional way of doing things, and it pissed Isabel off more than anything or anything else could ever hope to. Fawcett's next words helped to calm her slightly. Ah, so they were back to uncreative insults. ”Well, I suppose it depends on your definition of civilized, wouldn't it? I certainly wouldn't classify you as such, that's for sure.”
For the first time since the argument had turned nasty, Isabel felt victorious. She finally felt like she had the upper hand. The look on Fawcett's face went from utter annoyance, to purely furious, and it gave Isabel a feeling of satisfaction to know she had caused the look. ”Oh, back to threats of violence, are we?” For someone who could take care of herself, Isabel didn't have a very good survival instinct. She kept pushing the other girl's buttons, trying her best to push her farther and farther. It wasn't the smartest thing the Slytherin had ever done, but she was certainly having fun. ”Just give up, Fawcett. You're not going to intimidate me into backing down. I'm not scared of you.” That came out far more challenging than Isabel had intended, but she didn't care. It wasn't in her nature to take back something, especially when it had the desired effect. No, the next move was entirely Christina's. It would be interesting to see what she would do.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
