Height: 5'5"
Weight: 140lbs
Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Hair
Build: Average, though a little on the lanky side
Scars: A scar on her left forefinger, as well as a couple of chicken pox scars on her face.
Piercings/Tattoos: No tattoos, but she does have her ears pierced as well as her belly button (yes, college had some crazy moments).
Personal Style:
Felicity certainly follows her own fashions. She wears whatever she feels like without putting much thought into what others will think of it. She can dress 'normal' at times, in jeans and a t-shirt, but she's more well known amongst her students for wearing crazy costumes. Bonus points if said costume has something to do with what her class happens to be learning that day. She seems to enjoy skirts as well, and will wear those whenever it suits her.
Appearance:
Felicity's red hair is only the start. Her hair is a fiery red, which in itself tends to draw attention to her. Her eyes, surprisingly, are a dull hazel, directly contrasting her eyes. She stands at a relatively average 5'5" and weighs in at 140lbs, so nothing altogether abnormal about that. So why are students always talking about Felicity's appearance? Does red hair really cause that much of a ruckus?
Of course not. The students are talking about Felicity's clothing! Outside of class she may dress 'normal', but when she's in class she likes to get the full feel of what it is that her students are learning. As a result, she can often be seen in clothing that reflects what is being studied. It may be something as simple as a picture of the sun on her shirt if they happen to be studying photosynthesis on biology, or, more likely, something as crazy as putting spiderwebs and fake spiders in her hair when studying arthropods. If all else fails, a white labcoat is a good standby as well, whether they're working with chemicals or not.
HOPE AND HORROR
MIXED IN BLOOD
Likes: Teaching, Talking, Playing dress up, Students who get involved in their learning, Insects, Being outdoors, Mexican food, Her niece, Cottage cheese, and Cartoons
Dislikes: Students who don't seem to give a crap (though she still tries to engage them), bad hair days, when Claudius gets loose and she can't find him, Teaching from the book, Graham crackers, Long lines for bathrooms, Being ignored, Dancing, Stuffy coworkers, and Technology going on the fritz
Dreams: She wants to go to Mars some day. Yes, crazy dream, but no one said the dream had to be entirely realistic.
Fears: Fading into the woodwork, losing her job, and Claudius dying in a tragic way (read - anything that is not old age)
Habits/Hobbies: Trying to outdo her outfit from the day before, snapping her fingers as she walks down the hall, humming while she grades papers, and trying to, erm, forcefully get her students attention once again if their attention happens to wander (she has been known to get in front of students faces and scream randomly for no apparent reason and then smile and continue teaching as though nothing happened)
Secret(s): She wants to have a child, though she's not entirely sure if she can do it without a husband. And she doesn't want to get married until she finds the absolutely right person. Yet she feels she's getting old. Aww.
Personality:
Felicity is very passionate about her work as a teacher. As far as she is concerned, her students had better leave her classroom at least knowing one thing in detail far better than they did before entering the room or she considers herself a failure. She also tries her best to make her lessons unconventional, as she had a hard time learning by conventional means herself and wants to keep the attention of her students.
That said, Felicity is worried about what others think of her. It may not seem like it when she goes walking down the hall in a labcoat and huge nerd glasses to get 'into character' for class, but she does. She wants to be thought of as a good teacher, and she hates the idea that there are bound to be students out there who don't like her, no matter how hard she tries. Yet ironically, the fact that she at times tries too hard may be what drives some students away.
Felicity may come across as obnoxious to some, and fun-loving to others. Really, she's both. There is a more serious side to her, though, and she really wants her students to succeed. If a student approaches her for help, she will do what she can to coach them. When it comes to other teachers and other adults, Felicity may seem almost clingy in nature. She may butt in in areas where she is not wanted, all in an attempt to help out. Worry not, though - She normally just needs to be told to back off. She may be upset at first, but she'll get over it when she starts planning out her next class.

History:
Felicity Hoffman was born as the second child to Murphy and Jennifer Hoffman in August of 1979. Her five year old brother took to poking and prodding the baby girl as soon as she was brought home, and as the newborn grew into a toddler, she learned how to take the poking and prodding and do a bit of poking and prodding of her own. As a child, Felicity was a bit of a tomboy, likely as the result of trying to keep up with her brother. She never did avoid dirt and mud like most girls do, and rather than run screaming at the sight of insects and spiders, Felicity and her brother would often play with them, or collect them for their 'bug collection'.
As Felicity grew older, she 'grew up' in some ways but her childish nature still showed through. She never understood the point of dressing in designer clothes...where was the fun in that? Unfortunately, this led to being made fun of Felicity coming home in tears on more than one occasion in middle school, as often happens By high school, she found a group of friends who were into the more 'geeky' side of things, and her confidence level rose. If her friends accepted her for who she was, who cared what the others thought? Well, she did to some extent, but she found it easier to push aside when she had strength in numbers. It was hard to feel too terrible about being called a freak of nature for liking to study bugs when her best friend was right next to her commenting on how much the girl making fun of her's acne looked like bugs were swarming her face.
In college, it took Felicity a while to settle down and pick a major. She wanted to explore her options before she chose a career. As a result, she graduated college a year later than she was supposed to, but still left with a master's in teaching. She'd graduated from the University of North Carolina after being accepted on a scholarship, and thus looked for a location close to the college she attended. She found her answer in Riverdale, a quaint and unique (though she will probably never know the true extent of it's uniqueness) boarding high school located only a few hundred miles away. Felicity put in her application here, as well as a couple of nearby schools, and waited. She never heard back from either of the other schools, but Riverdale responded, and Felicity joined the staff. Ms. Hoffman is currently in her fourth year of teaching at Riverdale High and hopes to be on staff for many more!
Though she'd also love to know what RSOR is. But then, who doesn't?
