It seemed as though Hanston and the rest of the staff had outdone themselves yet again. Now, one was only left to wonder what they might come up with next year. While Cornelius was in fact very serious about his duties as a member of the Leader's Panel, he was also a proponent of the 'All work but no play makes Cornelius a dull boy' theory. He knew that he had to take some time off to enjoy himself, and why not join in the festivities? He had some friends he could spend some time with, and perhaps he'd even come across Fred. The thought of Fred brought a huge smile to his face. Cornelius' competitive nature usually only came out when it came to Oz, though he found that it was beginning to show itself with Fred as well, albeit under different conditions. With Oz, he simply wanted to one up the other guy. They came across as 'friends', but anyone who knew them well enough realized that there was so much tension there that it wasn't even funny. With Fred? He simply wanted to impress her. In her case, the competition was for fun. It was kind of refreshing, to be honest, especially since his rivalry with Oz could take a lot out of him sometimes. Especially with the whole incident with Oz, Isabella, and the key. While Cornelius knew that Isabella had gone a bit far, he had still gained some pleasure upon hearing what happened to Oz. First off, it was Oz, and second off, he'd had a key and kept it from them, even after it was iterated by both the leader's panel and Hanston herself just how important it was to return those keys. Just who did Oz think he was kidding? Shaking those thoughts aside and trying to enjoy the night, Cornelius stood in front of one of the attractions - A tower with a mallet to test your strength. Now, if only he had someone to compete against... Word count: To: Open! Notes:

weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== And lo and behold!! A Weasley Approaches!!
Fred had always loved Halloween and every year it had been loads of fun with the only exception being her freshman year. Fred had struggled with Halloween away from family, but now she loved it. And she had decided to go super witty with her costume this year. Last year she had gone as a pilot, no surprise. But this year she had taken her nickname and turned it into a costume. This year she was Fred Weasley for Halloween. She had her Gryffindor robes at home though, and currently dressed in the standard sweater with a tucked in Gryffindor tie. Her socks even matched.
Okay, so Fred was meticulous when it came to costuming, but to be honest, Fred was an achiever and costumes were no different. If she was going to do it, she would do it right the first time. It was just too bad her current attempts to con someone into being George Weasley hadn’t been a huge success. Then again, she hadn’t searched very hard. And instead she’d made a cut out of George Weasley for the Dance this weekend. Naturally that wasn’t something she could bring to the park though so she had left George at home.
Fred hadn’t really arrived with anyone in particular and she had driven over in her car instead of bothering with the bus. Fred was legal in England to drive at 17 and had her full license so she had just needed a car over here. That hadn’t been a problem as she had saved up for and bought her own car with her part time job. Then again, Fred had been working since she was 11, babysitting in mass first and then a more proper job when she got a bit older. Now she just worked in the summer and her parents did her a huge favour by helping her maintain the car. Of course, she busted her tail to pay them back each year too. Most people on campus were unaware of Fred’s car, but Fred also loved and hated her car. The hard part for her to deal with was the Driver’s seat was on the wrong side, but she had learned to adapt. She just wished her car was a blue mustang for today…
Fred moved through the crowd, looking for someone familiar. That was when she spotted Cornelius. He was easy enough to find! She then walked up and tapped him on the shoulder, having approached him from behind. ”Hey mate! Didn’t see you as the type to show up alone!”
she said, putting on her best English Accent. Now to be clear, that accent was pretty damn good! Fred grew up in England but had one American parent, so she hadn’t really developed a strong English accent. In fact, she didn’t have much of an accent at all, but as a child she often mimicked her mother’s accent and rolling back into it wasn’t hard by any means. She also used a different tone of voice, doing her best to imitate Fred Weasley of course.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 520 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Weasley is Our King" by Slytherin Students in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ••

Though some had gone to the amusement park in shades of their costumes (obviously things such as masks and capes were not a good idea in the middle of a crowded amusement park, so those were left behind for the most part), Cornelius had opted against it. It wasn't that he didn't have a costume, but he wanted to save it for the dance. Speaking of the dance...there was a face that he planned on spending plenty of time with at the dance. To be fair, though, he didn't see her face first, but rather felt a tap on his shoulder and spun around to see who the culprit was. He grinned at Fred, eying her outfit. His grin only increased when she introduced a British accent into the equation. Now, Cornelius knew that Fred was part British herself, so clearly her accent would be better than many others. Cornelius, however, was British in his past life. Therefore, when he answered Fred, it came out in a flawless British accent. "Blimey, about gave me a heart attack there." Normally he wouldn't dare to use his old accent, but it was Halloween, and he could always explain it off as responding to Fred's character. That said, it was just as easy for him to speak in his old British accent and his new American one. The only issues that came up were when Cornelius was upset for some reason or another...his accent tended to slip in that case. "Nice accent." He commented, slipping back into his American accent from this life. He honestly wouldn't mind bantering back and forth in his old British accent with Fred all night, but he didn't want people to get too suspicious. As RSOR security was very important to him, he wasn't going to take too many risks. A little bit of fun, though, never hurt anyone. He looked back at the tower that he was eying before, and smiled a daring smile at Fred. "Care to see how strong you are compared to me?" He knew she wouldn't resist this one. weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred had chosen to go to the amusement park in costume because she couldn’t resist herself. She had left at least one part of the costume aside for the dance and that would be a surprise for everyone at least. She thought her costume was amazing and quite witty. It was just too bad that she couldn’t have dressed as Fred Weasley for a week, imagine all the props she could have! Fred tried not to dwell on it and chose instead to remain at least partly in character, and not worry about the costume aspect of her costume….(o.O)
Fred hadn’t considered the dance much until very recently. She had been more concerned with a costume and all the other things on her plate…like RSOR, Anti-RSOR being a pain in her ass, Homework, Extra Credit Homework, Work (she was a personal tutor and self-employed, and it was set up like a legit business), the Clubs she was in outside of RSOR, Athletics, Adventuring and the mandatory eating and sleeping. Fred was always a busy body and it was best she was kept busy. She had amazing ideas and even better ones when she just went out and did them. So when she saw Dr.Cox an idea did pop into her head…a small one, that at first she was uncertain of.
Fred couldn’t compete with Cornelius’ accent if she tried, seeing as he had actually been British in the past, so she just stayed in character with her impressive accent considering she hadn’t had one solidly in either life. She had been American after all, and now she was British but lacked an accent to suggest as much. It was because she had grown up in a house with an American and a British parent. One had an accent the other didn’t and that paired with her past life influencing this one she hadn’t started to pick up her mother’s accent. It was almost funny because Cornelius had a telltale of his past life when he was in an emotional state that brought out his accent. Fred’s telltale was the opposite; her accent didn’t exist in general when she should have at least a partial one from living in London.
Fred let one eyebrow raise when he said nice accent. ”Glad you like it?”
She said, not breaking character but not exactly in character either. Fred knew that he was considering RSOR’s security so she understood why he had swapped back to an American accent. That was obvious as for both of them RSOR came first. That was why they were on the Leader’s Panel after all. Fred glanced in the direction of the tower he was looking at, recognizing a strength game when she saw one. She turned to look back at Cornelius seeing the daring smile and knowing what was coming. Fred couldn’t resist a challenge and naturally a grin broke out across her face. She knew it was possible for her to match Cornelius in this because she was very athletic and Fred was far from without muscle. She was pretty damn strong compared to how she looked. For some reason she remained looking like a very fit toothpick, despite having decent muscle mass. She weighed her odds, seeing as Cornelius was also into several extracurricular activities. But let’s face it, Horseback riding didn’t get you pipes!! So it could possibly go either way, but Fred was still confident enough. ”I got this…” Fred said with a large playful grin, the British accent gone. ”Care to go first dear Corny…” Fred offered, gesturing to the tower, the grin not leaving her face. Fred enjoyed having fun, trying new things and of course competition. This was a bit of all three…[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 622 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Weasley is Our King" by Slytherin Students in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ••

Part of the reason that Cornelius had opted not to wear a costume was that he wanted to save it for the dance. The other part? He hadn't exactly picked out a costume yet. Well, that wasn't entirely true. He'd had a costume picked out, only to have it shot down by Principal Hanston. He couldn't entirely blame the woman, and to be fair, he could see where his costume would be offensive. Still, he couldn't help but think that it would be a funny RSOR inside joke if he, the British prime minister during World War 2, showed up to the dance dressed as a ridiculous caricature of Hitler with a kick me sign on his back. "Like it? I bloody well love it!" Cornelius could swap between the two accents almost flawlessly, though the fact still remained that his British accent would sometimes creep through even when he spoke 'normally'. He had a decent amount of experience speaking with both accents, so he had a lot of practice, but the fact remained that he'd spoken with a British accent for longer than he's spoken with an American one. Therefore, it made sense. He grinned when Fred suggested that he go first. Part of him actually hoped that Fred would go on speaking with a British accent so that he could go on speaking with one as well, but he didn't mind this too much. In all honesty, he was just having fun with her. "If you insist...don't want you to get too discouraged now." He grinned, clearly playing with her, then picked up the mallet. weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred had plans for Corny this Halloween. He didn’t know it yet but she was just working out if she wanted to drag him into her Halloween scheme or leave things as they were. She already knew Cornelius had some interest in her. Or at least she was fairly sure. There had been an incident not too long ago where Oliver had taken a few liberties while drunk that were awkward and very uncomfortable. She remembered Cornelius being particularly pissed about it and as a result she had to think on things. Now she was fairly certain of what she had originally considered a possibility. Fred was really bad for letting things go over her head…especially with romance.
Her first life she had married partially for love but mostly for convenience. Her husband had recognized her as a stand-alone person and an equal. She had kept her name and remained a fully fledge free spirit with her old husband and to be honest she was concerned with getting too tied down already. But she had considered what possibly to do with situations. She couldn’t deny that Cornelius had his appeals. He was attractive, and he had room for adventure when Fred dragged him into things. He didn’t turn down her spirited fun and jumped on board and that meant a lot to Fred. So he had been her first consideration for Halloween.
She hadn’t asked yet though, because she was still uncertain. Hopefully things would work out today and she could con him into the plan…
She smiled as he comment on loving her accent and said “right back at ya…”
with a wide grin. It was nice to know Cornelius approved. He was more British than she was after all…well…to the RSOR community. He was recognized as the former Prime Minister of Britain and her as an American aviator. It was a bit more logical than their modern situation where he was American and she was British. Fred grinned widely at Cornelius when he comment on her not getting too discouraged. She couldn’t help herself and the smirk became more mischievous. ”You say that like you stand a chance of discouraging me…how cute.” Fred shot back at him. She watched him pick up the mallet. ”Careful, that might be a bit heavy for you,” she said, the teasing clearly a joke and her amusement at her own joke written all over her face.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 404 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Weasley is Our King" by Slytherin Students in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ••

The same incident that alerted Fred to his possible feelings for her had the same effect with him. Sure, he'd looked at her, he'd admired her beauty, but she was a beautiful girl - That was to be expected. It wasn't until the incident with Oliver practically throwing himself at Fred that Cornelius realized that he didn't want any guy throwing himself at Fred. Cornelius had been a family man in his past life, having married. He also had four children, one boy and three girls, though poor Marigold died at age three. While family was important to him, and he had all plans of having a family again in this life, he wasn't quite ready to settle down yet. He had his youth bestowed upon him again, and he wanted to take advantage of that. Most reincarnates did. And Fred...well, she was youth embodied, in Cornelius' eyes. "Thank you." Cornelius responded, reverting back to an American accent. It was odd how their situations had switched. Amelia had been American and Winston British with an American mother and British father. Cornelius was now American and Fred British with an American father and British mother. Cornelius' face took on a look of mock offense. "My my, confident, are we? Make sure you don't get too overconfident. An overinflated head is never a good look, even on someone as attractive as yourself." Oh yes, he was flirting majorly. He scoffed a little at her comment, though wore a grin on his face. "I think I can handle it..." The mallet was easy to pick up, though he mimed as though it were indeed a great challenge to lift the mallet. Word count: 296 To: Open! Notes: None

weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred didn’t think much about family in the past. She had a horrible drunk for a father who had ruined her family. Her mother had loved her and his sister Pidge had been really close with Amelia. But she honestly didn’t have much other than that for family. She had her husband of course, but they never had kids of their own. Amelia had been too concerned with having fun and having a career and that was the very reason her first engagement hadn’t led to marriage. She did hope this time she could have both a family and fun. Her parents in this life had proven that was possible after all.
Fred had always been active and fun loving. She couldn’t even imagine her life being without adventure and activities that gave her that rush of enjoyment. Fred was all around active and she dragged people into it; hence why she was now eyeballing the Zipper ride not too far off. She decided after this to drag Corny on with her. It’s always more fun when you are not the only one having fun.
Fred smirked in amusement, ”I am most certainly confident. I’d say far from over-confident…More like I’ve gone over my odds and I like them.”
Fred offered with a very wide grin. She tried not to let her smile grow more at the comment of her being attractive, but unsuccessfully. That confirmed it. Definitely confirmed it… Fred watched as he picked up the mallet laughing at his over dramatized efforts to pick up the mallet. ”Swing away Corny…” Fred laughed. ”If you win, I’ll go to the dance with you!” Fred offered with a wide grin…In fact, she was half tempted to lose on purpose. But she was going to give it her all just the same.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 301 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Weasley is Our King" by Slytherin Students in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix •• •• Notes • Your choice on if Corny wins or loses. When it came to his childhood, Cornelius' memories of his family in his first life were nothing to write home about either. He loved his mother dearly, but often was too busy to really dote on him. His father, on the other hand, saw him as a disappointment. Really, he had no desire to relive his first childhood, and was happy that his second childhood had been a lot more enjoyable. While Cornelius did not quite have the thirst for adventure that Fred had, he couldn't say that he didn't appreciate an adventure here and there, and Fred was certainly chalk full of those. Part of the Fred's charm, in fact, was her unpredictable nature. He could already tell that she was going to be a challenge to keep up with, and a challenge to woo...and he liked that. Cornelius smirked, shaking his head. "You may want to go over those odds again...I think you may have miscalculated somewhere." In reality, he didn't care who won, though he certainly considered taking the fall and letting Fred win. Considered, but, of course, didn't implement it. He knew that Fred would see right through that, and that she was looking for an actual challenge. So, he would make it so that she received one. Simple as that. Looking up from the mallet, Cornelius raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what happens if you win?" Curious as he was to hear what she had to say, he opted to take a swing. He watched as the meter soared up between 70 and 75, then dropped back down once more. He then handed the mallet over to Fred. He couldn't help but hope he won, and not just because his pride depended on it... Word count: 299 To: Open! Notes: Doesn't matter to me. XD I feel like we should flip a coin, haha.

weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred laughed as Corny suggested she needed to recalculate. Fred knew her odds were good. She knew she could handle Corny! Well, actually her odds said he had the natural upper-hand because fit guys were generally more muscled than girls. It was just part of the way they were built. Fred evened the odds by being exceptionally active and fit, while being physically stronger than the average woman. She did more physical upper body things that Corny did she was sure, considering the wide range of activities Fred did enjoy.
Though, much like Corny she worked her legs more than her upper body. So that was more her strength as much as it was likely his. Either way, the odds worked out as being as even as possible and anything was possible. Fred still found the banter fun though. ”We’ll see about that Corny!”
Fred said with a playful smirk. She couldn’t help it, she enjoyed a challenge!! Fred laughed when Corny mentioned when he wins what would happen… ”Then you have to go to the dance with me, instead of me with you,” She said with an amused smirk, not actually telling him what she meant by that by any means. She had plans for Corny for Halloween…and she hoped he’d go along with them. She needed someone to compliment her costume after all… Fred watched as the meter soared upward to between 70 and 75 and looked impressed for a moment. ”Very impressive Corny…” Fred said with a wide grin. ”I think I may have to rethink my odds now…” She added with a wink, telling him she totally wasn’t rethinking her odds at all. Actually, Cornelius did consider Fred to be a challenge. He did realize that being male offered him a natural advantage where strength was concerned, but he also knew Fred more than well enough to know that she was very active, and that she likely had a good amount of upper body strength as well. Working on the farm allowed him to build up strength in multiple aspects, but he knew that Fred participated in many activities that allowed her to do just the same. Still, it was damn fun seeing how she reacted to his jabs! She reacted in stride, which was good. He didn't want Fred to take the jibes too easily. He definitely didn't want her to take them too seriously! Cornelius let out a laugh when Fred admitted her plans if she happened to win. "I like those odds." Either way he'd be going to the dance with Fred, and that was an automatic win situation for him. He could deal with that. He smiled in satisfaction when Fred complimented his score. "Thank you, Freddie." Cornelius responded, deciding to add the long e sound to her name as well, since she was doing it to him. Cornelius smirked when Fred said she was considering rethinking her odds. "That might be a good idea. I don't know if you can beat that..." He handed the mallet over to her, though he had to throw in one last act of banter as he did so. "Be careful now...don't want you to hurt yourself." He teased Word count: 277 To: Open! Notes: So..what did we decide again? I think it was that he won...

weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred grinned widely now that she had the mallet and made a slow motion swing at Cornelius and stops the last second. ”Sorry! I thought your head was a bludger mate!”
She said, implementing the English accent again. She couldn’t help the amused grin on her face, entertained by her own joke. She was taking any opportunity to get back in character after all. Fred knew that Cornelius worked on the farm at home, and she tried to factor it into her calculations but the problem was she didn’t know that much about farm work. Of all the things she had done, agriculture was not on that list. She had been from a well off family and when her father had squandered that away she had moved job to job—as in jobs a woman could do at the time. Agriculture wasn’t one of them until WWI and even then she had been busy with volunteering as a nurse’s assistant. It was still super entertaining to have a little fun and be a little cocky, even if there was no huge gap to be cocky about. Fred smirked as he said he liked those odds, ”I thought you might. But how that night progresses will all be discovered here and now. Decides what costume I wear too!!” she added. Her goal was for Corny to be Angelina Johnson so she could be Fred Weasley at the dance. If not, then she was going to be Winnie the Pooh and she’d make sure he went as Tigger. Either way, she was calling the costume shots!! She smiled and tilted her head gracefully as he said thank you. ”I think I can thank you very much! Don’t count your chickens till they hatch!” she said with a playful grin and turning to swing the hammer down. As she watched the meter raise she responded with ”Me? Hurt myself? Like that’d happ—“ the meter had stopped just short of 70. ”Damn it!” She said, almost looking disappointed, but not quite. She turned to Cornelius and did a short bow, appearing to grab the air in front of her head and rolling her wrist over dramatically before returning her hand near her head—mimicking the removal of a hat. ”I tip my hat to you sir!” she said with a laugh. ”Okay…then you get to decide. Winnie the Pooh or Harry Potter.” she offered with a wide grin. ”Think quickly, cause the longer you take the more nasty the costume choice I have for you…” she said with a devilish grin that said she was clearly joking.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Cornelius Cox •• •• Words • 434 •• •• Outfit • CLICK •• •• Lyrics • "Weasley is Our King" by Slytherin Students in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix •• •• Notes • There is your answer! ••

As Fred swung the mallet toward his head, Cornelius' eyes widened and he dodged in the opposite direction in slow motion, all in a comical fashion. He knew that Fred wasn't actually going to hit him. Why not have a bit of fun himself? Agriculture was a new venture for Cornelius (well, new in the sense that it was contained to this life). His parents had been well to do before, his father being an aspiring politician that never really made it big, and his mother a socialite. He, too, experienced more than one job, but none of them were rooted in agriculture. He'd had experience as a military journalist, member of the military itself, as well as, of course, a politician. Cornelius was surprised to hear that what costume Fred wore hinged on the results of this activity, but he was curious to see nonetheless. He was also curious as to how the results would come out...watching as she swung and spoke with confidence, Cornelius couldn't help but grin when he saw that Fred's meter stopped just short of 70. Smile because yes, he'd won, but Fred had come close as well. It had been a real challenge for both of them, and Cornelius liked that. It made the activity more fun. "Well, now that we've proven who the better man is here..." Cornelius grinned teasingly, then bowed a little as Fred tipped her imaginary hat. "Thank you for your kind words, thank you." He added another bow for effect. Her next comment caught him rather off guard, however. "Wait, you're picking my costume out too? I don't remember this being part of the contract..." Again, stated in a tone that indicated that he was obviously jesting. It would making picking out his costume easier, since he couldn't go with his original idea. "Hmm, I think I'd have to go with Harry Potter. Stick to the good old British roots." He indicated in a slightly hushed tone. Plus, he was banking on going as George Weasley...he didn't know what Fred really had in store for him. weasley is our king, weasley will make sure we win WINIFRED YOUNG ==================================== Fred couldn’t help but laugh at Corny’s well-placed reaction to her hammer swing. It did look really amusing and she was sure it looked even more amusing and perhaps even confusing from an outsider’s view. Fred Weasley swinging a mallet at a stranger, who is dodging like a character in a comic book or cartoon would. Yes, this Halloween was going to be all fun and games.
Fred’s smile didn’t falter but she put on a look of mock horror when she had lost. ”Oh no! Now my costume is at your disposal!!”
She didn’t sound in the slightest dismayed and was more amused than anything. In fact, she even said the statement and exclamation in a more muted way rather than in an animated way. ”Sure…but I am the better woman and that makes me the best winner of all.” Fred laughed. Fred grinned diabolically when Corny jested about her picking his costume. She waited in anticipation for his choice, her amusement more than evident. Given the somewhat stressful nature that came with being a member of the Leader's Panel of RSOR, Cornelius had no qualms about taking a day or two for fun and games. In the end, he was quite serious about his position on the leader's panel, but it was doubtful that anything would go terribly wrong because he decided to have a little bit of fun with Fred. Was the worry in the back of his mind? Yes, but it was only at a faint murmur. At Fred's words, Cornelius wore a huge, exaggeratedly triumphant grin. "Well, I can't say I'm entirely surprised. You did well, though. Perhaps we can do this again some time." He held out his hand to shake, as if to say 'we will meet again'. Fred's comment about being an early riser was not safe from a comeback, however, as Cornelius grinned once more. "I'm a pretty early riser as well...so you may have to rise extra early.
