Time flies when you're having fun. Too bad it's not so easy with skateboards. It wasn't for lack of trying on Oliver Winchester's part. He was positive that he could get a skateboard into the air with no problem - He just wasn't sure how to keep it a skateboard in the process. To design it like he would an airplane, it would need not only wings, but a tail, a nose, possibly even propellers, and the end product of that wouldn't exactly be a skateboard. Then there was the idea of a jet powered skateboard, but a mental image of Hayden on one of those shot that idea down (both figuratively and literally) very quickly. The addition dilemma that Oliver faced was that, even in the even of success, he wasn't sure if he wanted to share it with Hayden. Hayden was a normal. Showing Hayden that he had indeed designed a flying skateboard might drive the point home that much more that Oliver was not an average freshman. He might do some investigating. He might stumble upon the RSOR. While this was highly unlikely, it was still a concern that had to be taken into account. Oliver sat against a wall in one of the deserted hallways of the school. Occasionally a person or group of people would walk by, but not too many of them were concerned about a fourteen year old boy jotting things down in a notebook. They probably assumed that he was working on homework. The upperclassmen that did recognize him were typically RSOR members, and even those he would typically just greet with a nod or wave, so as not to arouse too much suspicion. In reality, Oliver had quite a few friends who were in grades higher than him thanks to RSOR. He was not hitting it off as well, however, with those outside of RSOR. The only 'normal' he'd really hit it off with thus far was the aforementioned Hayden Callaghan, and that was only because he'd been designated as Hayden's unofficial fixer-upper. If Hayden hadn't singled him out for that purpose, he doubted he'd be on very good terms with Hayden either. The freshman, of course, was not working on homework, but rather on more drawings of flying machines. Skateboards primarily, but every once in a while Oliver's attention drifted to the drawings of flying cars on the sidelines. The design of a car allowed for more modification, and thus he was slowly becoming more interested in making a car fly than a skateboard. No doubt some of this also had to do with the fact that his brother had been working on such a project for a few years already, and Oliver wanted in on the action. Their best work was together, and it was doubtful that this would change even in this life. They might not be blood brothers this time, but anyone who looked at Oliver Winchester and Nathan Driscoll could likely tell that there was something there. They were still the Wright Brothers after all. Oliver tapped on his chin with his pencil before turning it around and erasing a tail off of one of the flying cars that he'd drawn. His backpack lay to his side, a couple of textbooks and a skateboard peeking out of it. As he finished his erasing, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He glanced up in curiosity, figuring it to be just another group of people walking idly past... Word count: 583 To: Tina, with Hayden Notes: Bwahahaha. >]

When was he ever going to learn? Skipping class did not mean he was excused from doing his lab. Hayden had tried that method of exempting himself from the boring and difficult labs many-a-time in his high school career and it had yet to work. The boy refused to learn from that mistake and carried this small hope that maybe, just maybe, it would work one day. But today...today was not his day.
Today, he was heading back to the science room to complete the Chemistry lab he had purposely missed out on.
He also was never going to learn his lesson of "don't ride your skateboard" in the halls. Hayden rolled down the hallways, her wheels clicking against the tiles. He nodded his head with the beat coming from his headphones. He swerved around freshman, rapping along with his iPod, "Move, bitch. Get out the way. Get out the way, bitch. Get out the way!"
He chuckled at the freshmen girls who squealed when they saw him rushing towards them with his skateboard. They looked funny when they dove out of the way. Hayden couldn't wait to be a senior so he could pick on freshman even more than he did now. His name would be feared among the freshman. They could hear the name "Hayden Callaghan" and they would cry. They could smell the pot he just smoked and their eyes would widen. They would see him coming down the hall on his skateboard and they would scream and try to run but deep down, in their little freshmen hearts, they would know the end was nigh. Then they would find themselves in garbage cans...or with their heads in toilets...or sitting on a bubbler, going for a ride. And during homecoming, they would get their little freshie asses HAZED. Hardcore. Like, tied and/or taped to trees and left there until someone found them That is, if anyone found them at all. Cruelty would ensue and Hayden would be the king of it. Bwa. Ha. Ha. Be afraid class of 2014 and 2015. This member of the class of 2012 gon' kill you.
Okay maybe not kill. Killing was something his brother and mother did. You'd be spared of death...but your ass will hurt for weeks due to wedges. And that's not a threat. It's a promise.
There was really only one freshman that was spared from any humiliating torture by Hayden. And that was Oliver...and that was mainly because Oliver fixed Hayden's stuff. Oliver was a genius, in Hayden's opinion. Apparently, this kid was going to build a flying skateboard for him. The badass-ness of that was...incomprehensible.
When he got closer to the science room, Hayden hopped off his skateboard and decided to walk the rest of the way. Teachers liked to walk around holding chemicals and Hayden didn't want to hurt anyone or himself by getting acid spilled. That would be most unfortunate. And painful. Mostly painful. Hayden didn't really like burning pains. He was alright with his head throbbing. That was normal for him. It happened often enough. But burning? No thanks.
So he walked towards his classroom, but along his merry way, he spotted a certain freshman sitting in the hallway with his back against the wall, his pencil tapping against his chin as he thought, no doubt, deep thoughts. "Wassup Ollie, my man!?" Hayden cried with a grin, using his nickname for Oliver that he had just invented. He went over to Oliver and grabbed him, putting him in headlock and giving him a noogie. Hayden then sat by him, his original goal of making up his lab forgotten.
"Whatcha doing sitting here all by your lonesome?" He asked, trying to get a glimpse at whatever Oliver had been writing. While he was busy being nosy, he saw something sticking out of Oliver's backpack. The flying skateboard! His eyes widened and he asked, "Is that it?"
Without waiting for an answer, he reached over and pulled it out of Oliver's backpack with wide blue eyes.

Hayden was wise not to mess with Oliver. Not so much because of Oliver himself, although if you were to give him a limited amount of supplies he could probably whip something up that he could defend himself with, or use to escape. What he wasn't so swell with, however, was hand to hand combat. He also wasn't the best at dodging Jack the Ripper's shoe, but what happens in London stays in London. Or, at the very least, in the RSOR room. What Oliver did have at his disposal were two older siblings, one current and one past, who would likely come to his aid. More worrisome to anyone who went after Oliver, Joan of Arc might come after them as well. Not that normals would know Isabella Avadore's true identity, but the fact remained that there was a sophomore girl running around Riverdale who could kick your ass and take your name. She'd already proven that to Hayden once after he said the wrong thing to her, and she'd jumped to Oliver's defense on other occasions. So it wasn't that far of a stretch to think that if Hayden messed with Oliver, she might step in. After all, if she could do it when her own best friend was doing it... Oliver was now drawing another tail on the flying car he'd just erased the tail off of. This was frustrating, not to mention he was at probably the most boring phase of the invention process - The drawing board. However, he had to jot his ideas down somewhere before they went ahead and experimented. Too bad he was straying, as per usual, from the flying skateboard, especially as his customer was approaching at this very moment. Nope, definitely not a group of students passing idly by. It was Hayden Callaghan, shouting a greeting to Oliver and then pulling him close and giving him a noogie. Oliver tensed up at once, biting his lip to keep from shouting out. This was already humiliating enough, not to mention it brought back unfortunate memories of Jack the Ripper's foot going down repeatedly on his head. Not pleasant by any stretch of the imagination. And, unfortunately, immortalized on Nate's phone. At least Nate hadn't captured his rendition of 'I Believe I Can Fly'? Perhaps there was a God after all. "Hey." Oliver responded once the worst was over. When Hayden took a seat next to him, Oliver proceeded to slam his notebook shut as quickly as he could. He knew that it would look suspicious, but didn't particularly care. What was in that notebook would look far more suspicious, after all. "I'm just working on homework." Oliver responded to Hayden's inquiry nonchalantly. It wasn't an outright lie. He was working on homework, just not any homework for any class. He was doing his own personally assigned homework. This homework, his research, was far more likely to get done than any of his actual school assignments. He went to put his notebook back into his backpack, but Hayden beat him to it, pulling out the very skateboard that Oliver had been experimenting with. Experimenting was probably a bit of an exaggeration though. He really hadn't done much with it yet, which was perhaps fortunate considering. No modifications had yet been made to the skateboard, although there were a few complicated equations on the skateboard, such as the equation for lift. Well, what could he do now? He couldn't snatch the skateboard out of Hayden's hands...it was rightfully his, after all. In the end, the freshman decided that it just wasn't worth it to take the skateboard back from Hayden. He already looked suspicious enough with his notebook, why make himself look worse? Slowly, Oliver nodded. "Yeah, that's it. I haven't had a chance to do much with it, though." Oliver indicated with a slight shrug. He figured that much would be obvious, but who knew? Most of Oliver's ideas were still on paper. It probably didn't help that his adventures with his past brother were starting to take up more and more of his time. Plus, he was also dating Lenita, which hadn't been the case a few months before. Oliver's schedule was starting to get busier overall. That and he was still reluctant to give anything that had the ability to fly to Hayden. Word count: 724 To: Tina, with Hayden Notes: YEY

There was a lot of things Hayden didn't know. A lot. He didn't mean to be naive. He was just kept in the dark about a lot of things. It wasn't his fault. If he knew a lot more things, Hayden would probably be very different. He had the capability to be "a scholar and a gentleman" and he often proclaimed he was. Really, though, if he knew everything...he'd be quite miserable. Think about it. If you knew everything, there would be nothing left to learn. No spice in life. What fun was that?
There were a couple things Hayden did want to know, though. Such as, who was going to win the Superbowl? He'd been rooting for the Bears, but when the Packers annihilated his home team this year, he traded in his orange and blue for a Clay Matthews jersey and bought some green and yellow face paint. Steelers VS Packers. The Packers were the underdog team this year. They had best win! It's be inspirational for all. Wisconsiners would actually feel good about themselves since they sure as hell didn't have anything else to boast about. Cows? Whooooo. If the Packers won, a trillion yooper babies would be conceived. It'd be like everyone would be on Power Thirst! There would be 400 babies! 400 yooper babies! Give "Shocklate" to your babies and make them ABNORMALLY INTO SPORTS! They'll become total CHEESEHEADS. They'll down beers like CHEESEHEADS! People will see them downing beers and think they're CHEESEHEADS! They'll have drinking contests like CHEESEHEADS! Against actual CHEESEHEADS! And it'll be a tie and there will be one big hangover in WISCONSIN!!! ...And Hayden had fifty bucks on the game. He really wanted fifty bucks. So...Go, Pack! Go! Sack the Steelers! Their team name is stupid, anyway. ...Not that "Green Bay Packers" sounded intimidating.... it actually sounded kind of stupid. The "Bears"? Now that's a team name. But...whatever. The Bears decided to suck this year. They decided to lose. And since they lost, Hayden also lost quite a bit of money. He had moved on from that heart breaking FAIL.
...Where were we...?
Oh yeah. Knowing things.
If Hayden had known who Oliver was and the whole head injury thing, he definitely wouldn't give him a noogie. Because that would just be mean. Hayden wasn't mean-spirited. He was just stupid sometimes.
But not all the time. He raised his eyebrow when Oliver slammed his notebook shut. That was JUST A LITTLE suspicious, don't you think? "I'm just working on homework." Oliver responded to Hayden's inquiry nonchalantly.
Hayden just raised his eyebrows. "Homework? Yet you slammed it shut when you saw me? At the teachers teaching you freshies the secret to world domination in your Algebra classes?" He smirked a bit. That would be insanely awesome if the teacher did that. But...if the teachers were capable of that, he doubted they would be teachers. They would be evil villainous masterminds. Which is pretty similar to a teacher, except famous. "C'mon, Anne Frank. Lemme see your diary..."
However, everything pertaining to knowing things, Anne Frank and evil teachers was quickly forgotten when Hayden snatched up the skateboard. He looked at it and took in all of it's glory. In his hands was a flying fucking skateboard. Holy. Holy. Shit. That-...that was just bad ass. There were no words to describe this bad assery...but Hayden did know one thing: He wanted to test it out. And he would.
He would right now.
Hayden stood and put the skateboard on the ground as Oliver blabbered: "Yeah, that's it. I haven't had a chance to do much with it, though."
Yeah, Hayden wasn't listening to Anne Frank anymore. He stepped onto the skateboard, his eyes as wide as a child's eyes on Christmas morning."That's cool," He said absent mindedly to whatever Oliver said. Then he looked up at the freshman, "How do you make it go?"
With a big, excited smile, he pushed off. Maybe if he got the wheels spinning and rolling and whatnot it would just...take off. Like a plane.

Oliver would find life quite boring if he knew everything. He had a thirst for knowledge, of course, but he also knew fully well that that thirst would never be satiated. And if it was? Honestly, he wouldn't know what to do with himself. He wasn't sure if he would ever get the answers about reincarnation, though. That was a mystery on an entirely different level than Oliver was used to. For the most part, he'd just accepted it, as it was the way it was, but at times he did catch himself wondering about the fate that he and the others were relegated to. It was inevitable. Every answer about reincarnation just seemed to bring more questions. Oliver was not sure who to root for in the Superbowl. The Cleveland Browns, the team that he would have been most likely to root for, was obviously not in the Superbowl, and Oliver didn't know which team he liked better. He figured that he would go for the underdog, though. He did not have the money to spend on bets, nor was he really a proponent on gambling, or he might have placed money down as well. He was more of a fan of college football anyway - Go Ohio State! It was too risky a venture though, especially with what little money he had. The freshman knew that the questions about his notebook were coming. At least this gave him a few minutes to prepare before the inevitable. Oliver vaguely wondered if he should at least show Hayden one of the pages where he'd jotted down ideas for the skateboard he was supposed to be working on. He doubted Hayden would be able to work out who he was from simple drawings anyway. Oliver snorted at the mention of algebra teachers and world domination. "Yes, that's exactly what they are doing." He frowned a little at the mention of Anne Frank, though. Anne Frank just so happened to be his science partner, after all. Although the small crush he'd had on her in the beginning of the year had tapered off and they were only friends now, the fact remained that Hayden's comment was badly stated considering the circumstances, and Oliver's eyebrow went up in a disapproving way. Fortunately Hayden had a short attention span Hayden was distracted by the skateboard and all of his comments about Oliver's notebook were forgotten. Or at least it seemed that way. Oliver wasn't about to bring the subject back up. He watched as Hayden placed the skateboard on the ground, his head hand slowly going to his head as he sighed. Why did he have the overwhelming feeling that Hayden was not going to listen to a word he said as long as that skateboard was in his possession? Oliver could not help but smile though at the look on Hayden's face as he asked how the skateboard worked. To see a reaction like that, Oliver was almost willing to go forth with completing the project. Almost. "Well, like I said, I'm still working on it. I'm not sure if it'll even gain air with the few modifications I made to it." Which was to say not many. After all, the skateboard still looked like a normal skateboard, with the exception of a couple of little wings hanging off the side. Oliver still had yet to come up with a propulsion system that he liked, and while wings might make the skateboard a bit more aerodynamic, he doubted that the thing would achieve full flight. He doubted anything he said would dissuade Hayden, though. Hayden's determination and excitement were admirable qualities in some ways; they just needed to be directed toward the right interests. Oliver went a bit pale as Hayden hopped onto the skateboard and started to go. He could see this going very wrong very fast... Especially when he caught sight of a man with a cart coming around the corner. "Hayden, watch out!" He stammered out.
