thewrightstuff So, some of you might have noticed the odd voicemails that Joan has been sending you lately...no, she hasn't gone crazy (yet). We are just trying to get to the bottom of a mystery that has been plaguing us for the past few months. We know some people are absolutely terrified of how they died before *Cough*Joan*Cough*. Others, not so much. So, we decided to make a poll of it to settle the score once and for all. You may feel free to simply answer the poll, or you may post below to comment further. - Orville Not Ganglylimbs Wright

susie q A little...though not so much of dying of pneumonia again. Fate just happened to curse me with asthma this time around, which kind of has it's similarities. >.>

thirdxwright Would I want to relive it? No. Am I terrified that every cold I get is going to turn into pneumonia? Not really.

I'm not particularly afraid about dying in the same manner. It's hard to tell what was the cause of my death anyways. Some speculate it was a bad combination of pain medication while others believe it was because of a mistreated/invisible injury. The only thing I don't wish to relive are the seizures. Other than that death is inevitable, so why be afraid of it?

thewrightstuff So, someone pointed out to me that I forgot to post my own answer... >.> I died of a heart attack. Indigestion doesn't exactly bring back the best of memories, but I'm not overly worried either. Perhaps when I get past 50, but that's still a while off.

I'm not necessarily afraid of dying of typhoid fever again given that there is promising treatment for it now but admittedly contracting an incurable illness does worry me.

You know what I'm afraid of? I'm afraid that I might eat myself to death. Or explode from how big I'm getting. Or die of sleep deprivation. Don't have sex, you'll get pregnant and die.

It's not death or dying or even suffering that may come alongside it, it's the afterdeath I am afraid of.

I'm really not sure why I'm posting my own two cents - ganglylimbs clearly expressed my thoughts in the main post. xD However, being executed is not something I fear. Not from the improbability, but I just don't fear it in and of itself -just the means.

I died of a fever. I can't say I'm scared of going of a simple fever this this era of humankind.

ozymandiasI lived in a time frame where the chances of surviving to five years old was slim and the average life span was 20 30 years. I managed to live a long life the first time...and my odds were much worse. Why should I be afraid now?

disneystolemysoulI died of lung cancer...and nothing, I mean nothing, I have experienced was as horrifying as knowing I was going to die, and having a time limit placed on my life. And then I didn't even get to live that time limit--so yeah. I am afraid of it happening again...but not like I would have been before.
It's hard to explain, but I had children and a wife to care for when it happened the first time around. I don't have that now. I think I could handle it...and that gives me a piece of mind too. So I am afraid, but at the same time, I am not fully afraid either...
