11pm. Quite a late time for a gig to finish in a town, no matter how small or big it was. Even Evie Lefevre could see that. Although she didn't really care, as it was a gig for her band The Guillotines. As long as there was people showing up and staying until the end she was happy. And luckily, the band was starting to gather a bit of popularity. Because of this reason, they had started to finish later than what was normally usual to keep the curious interested and the fans happy. It was a little bit later when Evie had helped to finish packing up, but with a curfew at school (which was already broken) she called it a night and left at around half past.
In Evie's opinion tonight had been a pretty good show. She was finally starting to notice that a lot of people were now showing up for the music and not to just see the Girl With The Attitude And The Red Lipstick strut about in a short dress, stockings and heels. There was even a few people singing along to the choruses - although Evie had to grudgingly admit that these were people who she knew quite well and was sometimes around during practice. There were quite a few familiar faces that had been in the crowd tonight but Evie was very surprised for one that she had seen. It had been none other than Alison Driscoll, a girl that for the most part seemed to dislike Evie a lot. The feeling was mutual of course. They had never been the greatest of friends, so Evie was quite curious as to why she had shown up. She doubted very much that it was for the music. The Guillotines music was a cross between metalcore and screamo for the most part with a little bit of soft rock. Evie was pretty sure that this was not Alison's scene - she was actually sure that any scene Evie hung out in was a scene that Alison would avoid at all costs.
After a quick swap into a pair of jeans and a Motley Crue band t-shirt (obviously leaving the heels on), Evie left the gig hall and started to walk home. She had just stopped about 10 feet away from the entrance of the hall to light a cigarette when a familiar back walking away from her in the direction of Riverdale High caught her eye. Admittedly, Evie was a little miffed that Alison had even stuck around for an hour, let alone to the end. She frowned. Evie was used to walking the streets at night but she was pretty sure that Alison wasn't. Although they didn't get on very well, Evie wasn't about to let the girl walk home alone in the dark. She followed, catching up pretty easily considering she was wearing what could be described as skyscrapers. "Your not thinking of walking back to the school alone are you?" Evie raised her eyebrows at Alison, the sarcasm pretty heavy in her voice. She took a long drag of her cigarette and then sighed carrying on walking by her side. "At least let me walk back to Riverdale with you to make sure your not mugged or something." There was a hint of smugness and humour in her voice but Evie was being pretty serious. She had heard horror stories of young girls walking back late and not making it home. Just because her and Alison had some differences it didn't mean that she would actually let her carry on alone. Although if Alison started making comments at her, Evie wouldn't stick around at all. It was silent for a minute and after another puff on her cigarette Evie's curiousity got the better of her. "So what were you doing here tonight?"

Evie would be correct in her assumptions that this really wasn't Alison's sort of music. As far as she could tell, it wasn't exactly Oliver's sort either, though he was the one who gave her the tickets. Seeing as he worked as a techie for The Guillotines on the occasions that things broke down, he'd offered her a ticket. She wasn't going to turn down the chance to do something entertaining, though she couldn't help but wish she'd invited someone to come along with her. Not that it was boring. There were even a couple of numbers that Alison had to grudgingly admit weren't too bad. She felt as though Evie should concentrate more on singing and less on screaming, though - She had a good voice, but Alison wasn't entirely sure if this was the right venue for that voice. Like the other girl wasn't using her full potential. Then again, Alison felt that way in many ways toward Evie. This girl was a former queen of France! Granted, a queen with a bad reputation, but Evie wasn't doing much to keep up a good reputation in this life either. It was too bad, really, and Alison even so much as pitied Evie at times. The original intent was to go with Oliver to the show. However, work called him in to cover for someone who called in sick, and therefore Alison was at the show by herself. This also meant that she was heading home by herself. She could (and should) have probably called someone to pick her up, but decided against it. The walk to school wasn't that far, and besides, Alison wasn't your typical fifteen year old girl anyway. Not that she looked any different - Honestly, she looked like a rather frail four eyes who could blow over if the wind so much as touched her. Alison wasn't the strongest physically, but she did possess a brain, and she could tell if and when things weren't right. She kept a keen eye on what was happening around her, and if anything out of the ordinary happened she would duck into one of the shops, she figured. However, just as she was leaving to start her journey, she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. Now, the words themselves seemed polite enough, but the sarcasm in Evie's voice was quite evident, and Alison couldn't help but role her eyes. Fortunately for the sake of conversation, Alison's back was still turned to Evie, and therefore the other girl couldn't see this gesture. The girl turned around and raised an eyebrow when Evie LeFevre mentioned taking her home. Part of Alison was insulted by this, but the more sensible part told her that this was actually a rare show of tact on Evie's part. Plus, in all honesty, did she want to walk home alone? Hell no. She didn't particularly want to walk home with Evie either, but Evie was certainly the lesser of two evils. She was willing to put up with the girl in order to feel safer. There was safety in numbers, after all, and Evie did give off a 'don't mess with me vibe' that Alison surely lacked. Alison tried not to look too eager as she shrugged in response to Evie's suggestion. "Well, we're both heading back to the school anyway...we might as well. Safer for both of us, really." Then Evie asked why Alison had even come to the concert. How did she know this one was coming? Well, because it was a valid question that even she probably would have asked in Evie's shoes. "My brother...well, past brother," she lowered her breath at the second part, "apparently does tech work for you, and offered me tickets. He was supposed to go but had to work." Well, at least conversation was civil so far. Otherwise it might be more dangerous for the two to go home together than apart. Alison was right in her assumption that Evie wouldn't notice her eye rolling. Even if Alsion had been standing looking at Evie head on, it was a possibility that Evie wouldn't be able to see anyway because of the darkness. Alison was also right in the assumption that it was good that Evie hadn't seen the gesture. She was going out of her way for the bespectacled girl who she hardly liked. It would be pretty easy to leave her fend for herself and make her own way home. Although she had to admit that she would feel pretty guilty about it the next day and would check to make sure that she had gotten home okay.
Evie naturally kept a small distance between herself and Alison. She wasn't used to hanging out with this girl for more than two minutes at a time. She would feel a lot better as soon as they parted ways. In a way Evie was already wishing that she had crossed to the other side of the road and carried on, keeping her head down. Oh well, this would be over soon. When Alison replied to Evie's offer about safety, Evie chuckled quite loudly at this. She threw her arms out and looked around at the scene and then back to Alison with a grin on her face. "Safety? Look around you Driscoll! There isn't even a cat in sight. I think we'll be okay." Her sentence seemed humorous enough, but the way in which Evie said it, especially the last line, was filled of heavy sarcasm again. Before Alison could retort back Evie filled the silence again. "So what are you up to after you get back to the school?" It was an innocent enough question, although with the way Evie lived (going back to the school was so she could drop stuff off to sneak back out) she forgot sometimes that most people went to bed now.
Alison then answered Evie's other question of why she was even there in the first place. Evie raised an eyebrow and looked over to her. She had noticed Alison in the crowd a couple of times and noticed that she didn't seem to enjoy the show that much. Evie should have been pissed off at this, and she was in a way, but it also brought up even better ways in which to annoy Alison. She did notice the tone of voice Alison was using though and couldn't help but comment on it. "So I take it you regret going anyway?" Evie looked at her, her eyes slightly narrowed to intimidate her, whilst puffing on the last bit of her cigarette.
With a quick flick of the finger she got rid of the butt. Her hand delved straight into her bag and emerged a second late holding a half bottle Jack Daniels that was half full. She unscrewed the cap quickly and took a long deep swig, letting the warmness of the liquid heat her up from the inside. She was about to put her bottle away back into her bag when she looked back at Alison, with a half eyebrow raised. She didn't want to seem too rude so she made a half hearted attempt to offer her some by pushing it towards her a little. "Erm...want some?"

The freshman made no moves to close the small distance that Evie was creating. She wasn't a fan of Evie's either, so why get closer than she had to? Whether Evie saw it or not, Alison raised an eyebrow at the other girl's next words. Wasn't it Evie who blatantly stated that if Alison walked home she could be mugged? Alison doubted such a thing would happen, but there was safety in numbers, and the tone that Evie was taking annoyed her. Go figure. "You're the one who brought up mugging, not me." Alison stated in a cool tone toward the other girl. She didn't want to use full on fighting words, as Evie had not done such a thing, but she wanted to show that she could not be pushed around by the likes of this girl. Former queen or not. "Depends if my roommates are up or not. If they're up, I might do something with them. If not, I really don't have much of a choice but to head to bed." It was a weekend, after all. On a school night Alison would head straight to bed. She still intended to stick around the dorm, but if Kodi and Camille were awake she wouldn't head to bed just yet. Besides, the fact that she'd just witnessed a rock concert meant that she was stimulated enough that she likely wouldn't be able to head to bed straight away either. Even though Alison and Evie clearly didn't like each other, Alison was not going to stoop so low at this point as to say that she hated Evie's band. There were a couple of songs that weren't that bad - Mostly slow songs, though, that actually showcased that Evie could do more than scream into a microphone. "I don't regret it, just wish I'd had someone to go with." Which was the truth. The fact that Oliver pulled out at the last minute (admittedly at no fault of his own) meant that Alison didn't have a chance to grab a friend to go with her. She might have brought Chi or Juliet. Although Chi at a concert like this was an odd mental picture. "Besides, you have a good voice." Alison wasn't lying when she said this, although she stated it begrudgingly. It was a peace offering of sorts. If the two of them were going to walk back to Riverdale High together, it wasn't going to do them much good to constantly throw insults back and forth, would it? It was highly doubtful that this journey would change their relationship - Likely things would get more heated once they returned anyway. Still, what was the point of walking home with someone you spent the entire time arguing with? When the other girl pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels, Alison wasn't sure what to do at first. She didn't want to appear rude...but, well, alcohol did not seem appealing at all, especially walking home in a bad area of town. "I think I'll pass. But thanks for the offer." It was pretty bad that Alison could smell alcohol on Evie even before she pulled out the bottle... Word count: 561 To: Ali/Evie Notes: 'sall good. XD
